I had a feeling I was going to love this one and I was absolutely right!! Fake marriage is one of my favourite tropes and it was so fun reading about it, this series is definitely becoming one of my comfort reads.
Peyton runs out of her wedding, becoming aware just how toxic her husband-to-be is.. Escaping to a random town, almost getting run over by a bike and having nothing but her gown and phone on her, she isn't having a good day.. Liam is running late to an event at his hotel and having to swerve to avoid a woman on the street and injuring his leg in the process isn't helping.. With the staff gossiping that he married Peyton after they been seen together at his hotel, his father finally being proud of him for settling down and Peyton's ex threatening and filling lawsuits to ruin her and her family, they decide to get married for real to help each other out. But, faking a marriage and trying not to catch feelings is not as simple as it sounds.
Peyton was fresh out of a toxic relationship and being thrown into a fake marriage wasn't easy, but Liam never tried to put her in a cage and she always made him feel like he's enough. She was so sassy and ready to do anything for the people she loved, she fought for herself and for Liam and I'm so happy she found someone who saw her.
Liam has spend most of his life trying to please his father, trying to live up to his expectations, but with Peyton he just needed to be himself. He was so sweet and charming, nevet let her apologise and always made sure she was comfortable.
Their relationship had a very eventful start with the accident, them getting married right away, meeting his family and moving in with him, but seeing them open up to each other little by little, fighting their attraction because they didn't want to complicate things and being what the other person needed was so special. The care, the books, the tension, the way he was there for her, the notes, the familiarity, the game, the pumpkins, the corn maze, the dinner, the dance, the understanding, the strawberry toothpaste, the cave and the love.. I had so much fun reading about them!!
It was fast paced, I loved the setting and the fall vibes and I'm so happy I saw some familiar faces. I especially loved Lila, I honestly can't wait to read her story next!! Also, I hope we get to see more of Emma!!

Camilla Isley has done it again and delivered a hilarious and cozy read and I'm happy to say that I absolutely ate this second book of the Blue Crescent Harbour series right up. if you like Elsie Silver, I confidently believe you will love this series. I really enjoyed the amount of sarcasm and banter that was in both this book and the last and those elements will never fail to keep me entertained.
if I were to describe this book with one word, it would simply be: fun. I didn't think there was a single dull moment where I felt like unnecessary scenes were being added or nothing was really happening. there were pumpkin patch dates, football games with adorable kiss cams, blossoming friendships, book clubs, and so much more that added to the overall cozy vibe in this book.
my reasoning for this not quite being a 4 star is because of how quickly their "marriage of convenience" took place. It was almost a little too convenient the way they went from complete strangers to agreeing to marry within 2 days. also (PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong on this), I dont think peyton's last name was ever mentioned which kind of throws me off that she's just known as "Peyton" and then "Peyton Rockwood" after marrying Liam. but with that being said, i loved everything else this book had to offer.

this is a girl who has been talked down to for years. it is evident through the way she apologizes over small things and tends to be hyper-aware of what she and others are thinking about her that she is scared to get hurt again, and i really felt for her because of that. I loved to see the way the town and the people in this story slowly healed those wounds and made her comfortable to be herself. she was also constantly making me laugh with her attitude and overall, she's definitely such a likeable character!

such a sexy mmc, my god. he's one of those guys where it might be easy to assume the worst about him at first but you'll quickly learn that you're so wrong. he takes it into his own hands to make sure those around him are okay when he himself is so used to feeling less than due to the way his dad treats him and speaks to him. I hope we get lots of cameos of him in the next book.

these two work so well together and it was adorable to watch them slowly catch feelings for each other and be in denial about it. they worked through all their feelings and obstacles SO maturely, it was very refreshing. also they both have a mutual love for reading and would read their books in bed together and that will always make me stupidly happy hehe.

I'm truly so happy that I've discovered this series and Camilla Isley because these books are just so cozy and good. I genuinely think that picking up one of these books are a cure for a bad day or even a way to make a good day even better.

The beginning of this book was a hot mess of things a normal human would never do. From overdosing on paracetamol and washing it down with booze (please don’t EVER do that) to marrying a complete stranger to impress your dad. Like, no sane person would do any of those things. And yet, I ate it all up 😋
I loved the dynamic between Payton and Liam. Their chemistry was amazing. The sort of fake relationship that wasn’t really fake because they were attracted to each other from the beginning 😏, the waking up all tangled up despite falling asleep on opposite sides of the bed 🤭, the stolen kisses, and the way they always, always had each other’s backs. It made my heart sing.
Also, there was no third-act breakup 🙂↕️
Seriously, I loved this book so much!
However.
You might be wondering why it’s not getting all the stars from me. Well, I had one pretty big issue with it: Liam’s perfectly perfect and perfectly platonic single, attractive, straight female best friend. I don’t trust that shit. I don’t care if the hero was in love before; in fact, it often adds depth to his character. But the thing about those past loves or lovers is that once the hero is with the heroine, they don’t matter. The effin best friend, on the other hand, is there to stay. To annoy me. She even gets an effin SELFIE from their bed 😭 Wtf, are they 16? 😭
Platonic-shmatonic. If a man is that close with another woman, it’s never a good thing. Also, such arrangements only work in books; in real life, they’re a recipe for disaster.
Okay, rant over.
All in all, I still recommend it, especially if you don’t mind the bestie thing.

Camilla Isley doesn’t disappoint in the romance department.
The fake marriage is cute and the two main characters are fun to read about. The two perspectives keep the book moving at good pace.

This was such a sweet, cozy small-town romance that delivered everything I love about the fake marriage trope. With plenty of autumn charm, lovable characters, and just the right amount of emotional depth, this story was an easy book to get lost in.
Peyton is instantly easy to root for as she escapes a toxic relationship and lands in Blue Crescent Harbor under the most chaotic circumstances imaginable. Her first meeting with billionaire Liam Rockwood is hilarious, and their chemistry sparks from the very beginning. What starts as a marriage of convenience quickly develops into something much more heartfelt as they learn to trust each other and heal from their pasts.
The small-town setting is one of the book’s biggest strengths. From pumpkin carving and corn mazes to the ever-present gossip mill, the cozy autumn atmosphere practically jumps off the pages and makes you wish you could visit Blue Crescent Harbor yourself.

The marriage of convenience setup gave them the chance to really get to know each other, and I loved how they encouraged each other to be braver, whether that meant standing up to family expectations or embracing who they truly are.
The fall atmosphere was absolutely perfect. From football games and pumpkin festivals to corn mazes, book clubs and small-town traditions, the seasonal setting felt woven into the story rather than simply serving as a backdrop. Add in the wonderful friendships, the charming side characters, and plenty of tension and banter, and I found myself smiling through most of the book. 🎃🍁

Peyton and Liam ? Where to even begin omg…they were soo cute and sweet and so perfect for each other! I loved Liam…such a green flag from the start (tho I was with Peyton for the accident in the beginning ;) )
I loved how he was so gentle, protective and helped Peyton a lot. Even when they just met ! And Peyton ! Such a baddie and brave, and I enjoyed seeing her be finally herself with Liam.
It was really a sweet love story, very relaxing and enjoyable !
I never read any other book from this author but now I’ll definitely check her other works!

I save Camilla Isley’s books for when I have a hard day, because without fail I can sit down and read this book cover to cover and it will give me such a warm fuzzy feeling. I swear it’s like a balm to the soul.
Fall For You is the second in the Blue Crescent Harbour series, which is interconnected standalones set in this small town. We follow Liam and Peyton as they navigate a fake marriage. When circumstances brings them together, people assume that Peyton and Liam are married and having his dad actually proud of him, pushes Liam to make the marriage real. After running away from her marriage- Peyton finds herself in a bad way with her evil ex- needing some firepower, marrying a billionaire doesn’t sound so bad.
Peyton was so sassy and Liam was so obsessed with it. The two of them were such a slow burn and convinced that this was a marriage of convenience, until they found themselves playing house and not hating how it felt.
I love a good enemies to lovers and Camilla Isley never disappoints.

Obsessed with this book! Such a cute story filled with such witty banter, heartfelt conversations, and runaway bride vibes! All the feels while reading this- we all need best friends like Emma and Lila to keep us grounded yet willing to take risks. I cannot wait for the third book!

In the last year or so, Camilla Isley has easily become one of my favorite feel-good authors. There’s always a bit of complication and seriousness in every book, but I think she handles it quite well. I’ve read seven of her books so far, and I’m really glad there are so many others already published and hopefully many more in the future. Of her books that I’ve read, the recent releases have been my favorites. I’m fairly certain I already said this regarding one of her other releases in the last year, but I really think she’s hit her stride. Her books are easy to read, easy to enjoy, and always give me the happy ending I crave. Why else would I read a romance? I love it when authors prove to me again and again that I can trust them with my time and energy (and money, if I love their books enough to make room on my already overcrowded bookshelves). Camilla Isley has hooked me as an automatic reader. You write it? I’ll read it.
When I read Rein Me In I absolutely knew that I would end up loving Liam, and I was right! He comes across as the town bad boy, but he’s a caring, quiet romantic instead. Yeah, he’s completely reckless on that Ducati he drives around, and his first encounter with Peyton was far from cordial. Luckily, she easily matches him, unwilling to back down, despite giving in to the demands of her ex-fiancé and his family for so long. I loved the way they challenged each other but never in a way that hurt or diminished the other person. Right from the start, they supported and backed each other. Their story was so fun and so hopeful.
After the introduction to Lila (Liam’s childhood best friend) in this book, am very excited to read her story! Her matter-of-fact “I like you. We’re friends now” comment to Peyton had me grinning, and I knew she would be a favorite. I really hope I can get my hands on an ARC of her book when it’s available.

Fall For Me is a delightful rom-com that sees runaway bride Peyton fall straight into the path of Liam Rockwood (who you'll have already met briefly in the first book in the Blue Crescent Harbor series, Rein Me In). When staff add 2+2 and make 38 after she wangles a night in his family's hotel, Liam's father wants to meet his new daughter-in-law. One madcap marriage of convenience scheme later, Peyton finds herself moved into Liam's house... And in his bed. As they learn more about each other, sparks fly.
Liam Rockwood has been searching for his father's approval his entire life. We see snapshots of memories that show from a young age, his dad has been hard on him. He's on his way to an event (and running late too) at the family resort when he spots a bride collapsed in the road. He has no choice but to ditch his bike, totally destroying his suit - and mangling his leg a bit - in the process. After a dingdong with her, he arranges for a car to take her anywhere she wants to go, not realising she has already made an impression on him. When she arrives at the resort, using a little emotional blackmail to get her a free night in the Honeymoon Suite, the rumour mill spreads like wildfire. When his father asks to meet his new wife, he feels cornered, seeing him so impressed at this development - so he comes up with a marriage of convenience plan, with a sweetener for Peyton of stopping her jilted fiancé from destroying her parents' lives as revenge for her escaping his clutches. He quickly realises this firecracker of a woman is everything he didn't realise he was missing in his life, and makes little moves that on the surface seem just for show, but acknowledges to himself that they are more for her. I loved how thoughtful he was about her feelings, respecting her house rules, respecting her analytical brain when it came to work, and respecting her enough that after they realised they had mutual feelings, he offered to divorce her so they could start things properly. He never treats her as anything less than his equal, despite having been brought up in a world where the Rockwoods are "better" than everyone else. Towards the end there is a reveal that is heartbreaking in it's origins, but show that Liam has grown into an incredible man despite the hard ride his father has given him. Despite a start that sees you wanting to shake him, Liam Rockwood becomes a character that you will love hugely.
Peyton is one of my favourite rom-com FMCs. She is feisty, sarcastic, and will absolutely go to bat for those she loves. When we meet her she has escaped her controlling fiancé by ditching him on her wedding day - in her dress and all - and has arrived on a bus into Blue Crescent Harbor. She's frozen, and Main Street is like a ghost town. Having managed to furiously blackmail a room out of him, and then helped to patch up his damaged leg (and gaining a new friend in Lila, Liam's best friend as she does), when he offers to stop her awful ex from ruining her family in exchange for 3 years of marriage, she doesn't hesitate. She sees the trauma Liam has when it comes to his father's approval, and is prepared to step up for him, even having just met him, especially in the way she did. She sets sassy ground rules in the house about the bed and Liam's fashion choices, leaves him sarcastic daily notes in his kitchen, and mocks him (gently) endlessly. After securing a job at Rockwood Outdoors, she stands up for Liam to his father, her feisty nature showing her true feelings for him. Her sass becomes a challenge for Liam as she realises she has true feelings for him. She has an evasion to surprises and to big, staged events (witnessed again later in the novel), but Peyton loves fiercely and intimately. Her immediate friendships with other women in Blue Crescent Harbor show her ability to care for people, which had been tamped down for so long by the coercive control of her ex, and little thoughtful gestures show the size of her heart when she's given the breathing room she craves. I'd quite like to be Peyton when I grow up!
Fall For Me is a slow burn novel that has a very gentle level of spice. The depth of feeling each character has for the other jumps off the page and even though it takes place over a short space of time, the love story feels genuine and not rushed. These characters get each other, and respect each other, resulting in an authentic connection. You see each phase of that connection clearly, from the initial meet-cute (meet-eek?) to the moment they realise they have totally fallen for each other. The epilogue is joyful and completes the story beautifully. It's another hit from Camilla Isley - and I'm so excited for Lila's story!

Now THIS is a great example of how you do fake dating x marriage of convenience! I ate this up like I hadn't been fed in days and the autumn setting was perfect. This is the second installment in Blue Crescent Harbor and in my opinion, the best so far!
Small town billionaire boy Liam has been trying to prove himself to his father in business and as a son. When he accidentally almost runs over a runaway bride, then finds her in his hotel lobby, rumours spread that he has a secret wife - and his father is ecstatic! Peyton took the first bus out of town to nowhere, leaving her abusive ex at the altar. But with his connections, he's now dead set on ruining hers and her family's life. So when Liam proposes a temporary marriage of convenience to prove himself to his father in exchange for helping her out of a legal mess, she reluctantly accepts in the hopes she can protect her parents. Though their attraction is there, falling is not part of the plan!
"For the last five minutes, I've been considering kissing you just to shut your pouty mouth."
Liam is your typical broody billionaire, but the way he falls first for Peyton is delicious. He really yearns for her despite their predicament, until he just can't contain it anymore! She's literally shouting at him and all he's doing is thinking about kissing her and nothing else appropriate for his not-so-real wife. Their forced proximity and that they had to share a bed from day one made the tension go from a spark to an inferno.
"Is that a fantasy of yours? Because I can shush you, if you like."
Peyton at first was hard to get a grasp on at first, but all the signs were blaring in our faces that she was in a horrible past relationship. From saying sorry when she did nothing wrong, to putting herself down when she received a compliment, to throwing food away when any comment is made about what she's eating. Girl... we all been there! I needed that emotionally healing for her and myself, making the romance all the more rewarding. She deserved someone who didn't try to fit her into a box and allowed her to shine by herself! And Liam was that man.
"Well, for you it's the strawberry toothpaste that does it, for me it's you destroying my enemies."
Don't even get me started on the banter and sass. Liam and Peyton could back and forth banter and bicker for forever. But the way Peyton put her foot down and didn't cower in situations meant too belittle her or Liam? Yeah, she defends her man! Fake husband of not. Lila and Peyton's friendship was so wholesome and genuine, and with the fall backdrop and events it just felt like a cozy read overall. I cannot wait for what's next at Blue Crescent Harbor!

I want to start off by saying that I actually have not had the pleasure of reading book one in this series, but it in no way impacted my understanding or love for this book, being that it is the second in the series. This book honestly was such an easy and smooth read! Before I knew it, was was 30% the way through and it felt like I had just started it. I must say, I was mildly concerned that the story line was taking awhile to progress because at almost 50% the way through the book, we were only on day two of Peyton and Liam getting to know each other after Liam almost ran down Peyton in the street in her full wedding dress as she was escaping her wedding day. A true enemies to lovers (he falls first), this book was absolutely adorable. I was glad the author took more time with the characters up front getting to know each other because I felt that gave the story a strong foundation and it gave you more time to fall in love with who Liam and Peyton were and all of their quarks as they learned to come together in the farce of living as a newly married couple.
I must mention, I was completely taken off guard at one point in the book (chapter 16) where Peyton and Liam are talking in bed about the books Peyton enjoys reading. I went on to read her "ingredients" she likes in a book and there was something that tickled my brain with how she described her ideal read to Payton and I knew I had heard that same dialogue somewhere before...Then it hit me..TAYLOR SWIFT! In her interview with Colbert he asks what her ideal read would be and her response is almost exactly verbatim what Payton describes at her ideal read. In fact, the last sentence is essentially word for word from that interview. Peyton discusses the crumbling British manor covered in ivy off the coast of Maine (check, check and check). A ghostly gothic vibe murder (check) and of course psychological domestic thrillers where you think the husband is crazy 'but then-boom-plot twist, unreliable narrator, she's the psycho." While I absolutely love a good T Swift reference to dig out, I was shockingly surprised that parts of the dialogue is word for word from the interview (is there a copyright on interviews)? Regardless, I loved the reference, but a bold move none the less.
Lastly, I genuinely loved that this book did not have a third act breakup. Let me say that one more time for the people in the back, NO THIRD ACT BREAKUP! That annoys the crap out of me when an author feels like they need to do a last minute drama session just so the couple can break up for one chapter, only get back together right at the end. *bleck* A good story is just a good story, even without the added false drama. I'm excited to see which characters will be in book 3 of this series! Definitely going to keep my eyes open for that one.
I want to start off by saying that I actually have not had the pleasure of reading book one in this series, but it in no way impacted my understanding or love for this book, being that it is the second in the series. This book honestly was such an easy and smooth read! Before I knew it, was was 30% the way through and it felt like I had just started it. I must say, I was mildly concerned that the story line was taking awhile to progress because at almost 50% the way through the book, we were only on day two of Peyton and Liam getting to know each other after Liam almost ran down Peyton in the street in her full wedding dress as she was escaping her wedding day. A true enemies to lovers (he falls first), this book was absolutely adorable. I was glad the author took more time with the characters up front getting to know each other because I felt that gave the story a strong foundation and it gave you more time to fall in love with who Liam and Peyton were and all of their quarks as they learned to come together in the farce of living as a newly married couple.
I must mention, I was completely taken off guard at one point in the book (chapter 16) where Peyton and Liam are talking in bed about the books Peyton enjoys reading. I went on to read her "ingredients" she likes in a book and there was something that tickled my brain with how she described her ideal read to Payton and I knew I had heard that same dialogue somewhere before...Then it hit me..TAYLOR SWIFT! In her interview with Colbert he asks what her ideal read would be and her response is almost exactly verbatim what Payton describes at her ideal read. In fact, the last sentence is essentially word for word from that interview. Peyton discusses the crumbling British manor covered in ivy off the coast of Maine (check, check and check). A ghostly gothic vibe murder (check) and of course psychological domestic thrillers where you think the husband is crazy 'but then-boom-plot twist, unreliable narrator, she's the psycho." While I absolutely love a good T Swift reference to dig out, I was shockingly surprised that parts of the dialogue is word for word from the interview (is there a copyright on interviews)? Regardless, I loved the reference, but a bold move none the less.

While it’s connected to Rein Me In, Fall for Me can absolutely be enjoyed as a stand-alone. It’s a marriage of convenience story between a millionaire businessman and a runaway bride. The story is told in dual POV, contains several F-bombs, and is slightly open-door.
Liam Rockwood was cast as the villain in Rein Me In but then turned out not to be. Now as he’s riding his Ducati motorcycle on his family’s hotel grounds in the rain, he nearly runs over a bedraggled woman in a wedding gown. Peyton fusses at him for speeding, then encounters him again in the hotel lobby. He puts her in the Honeymoon Suite as an apology, causing the nosy hotel staff to believe that she is his secret new wife. Liam offers Peyton a three to five-year marriage of convenience to protect from her vindictive ex and so his father will believe that he’s worthy of running the family empire.
Liam and Peyton have a sizzling chemistry, but they fight their mutual attraction as they forge a friendship and work together to implement Liam’s business plans. While Liam seems to be the town’s golden boy, he has deep-seated feelings of inadequacy that he has been struggling with. On the other hand, Peyton has always felt like she needed to tamp down her big personality. Liam gives her the freedom to be herself and assures her that she’s not “too much”. The romantic scenes are cracked-open-door, but Liam drops several F-bombs throughout the story.

The story begins in a dramatic fashion when we meet Peyton, as she has fled from her wedding (still in her dress) and finds herself in Blue Crescent Harbour. The tension continues to ramp up as her path crosses (literally) with the local Billionaire- Liam Rockwood- and the two quite have the meet cute, with neither being particular keen on the other! I really enjoyed the beginning of the book and how it built towards the premise of the two eventually agreeing to a mutually beneficial marriage of convenience. I found that it was a really interesting way to meet both characters and the story naturally drew my attention and held it until the end.
Although they relationship did not begin in a traditional way, it was clear very early on that Peyton and Liam were attracted towards each other. I genuinely felt quite sorry for Peyton as she realised not only that she had been a toxic relationship but that the fallout would have consequences for herself and her loved ones. She dealt with it quite pragmatically and as the story progressed it was really gratifying to watch her rebuild her life and find her confidence again. Liam played a huge role by giving her safe space and he went out of his way to make things ok for her. I really adored his character and when we meet him, he is prickly but never cruel. I really liked that their relationship is not one-sided, and Peyton is just as committed to defending and caring for him as he is for her. They are so well balanced, they had great communication and chemistry, and I loved watching them realise they were attracted to each other and navigate their developing feelings.
I have not read the first book in this series, but I didn’t feel that impacted my enjoyment of this book. I particularly liked the world building of Blue Crescent Harbour, and the season of Fall was vividly described with cosy vibes. It was nice to meet the other characters such as, Lila and Emma, the respective best friends of Liam and Peyton and explore the wider dynamic of the Blue Crescent Harbour community. I am looking forward to reading other books in this series. I enjoyed reading this book and would recommend it.

While the cover gives off strong autumn vibes and there are a few fall elements throughout the story, I wouldn't necessarily consider it a full-on fall romance. It's also a closed-door romance, making it perfect if you're looking for a heartwarming love story without open-door spice.
Liam is a small-town billionaire determined to prove himself to both his father and the family business. Peyton and Liam were such a wonderful couple to root for. Their relationship developed naturally as they learned to trust each other and found the freedom to be themselves instead of living up to everyone else's expectations. I especially loved how supportive they were of one another. Liam gave Peyton the safety and stability she desperately needed after escaping a toxic relationship, while Peyton encouraged Liam to stand up for himself and pursue what truly made him happy.
Peyton's journey was one of my favorite parts of the book. Watching her rebuild her confidence and realize she deserved so much more than the life she'd left behind was incredibly rewarding. Liam was patient, caring, and protective without ever trying to control her, making him an easy hero to love. Their relationship felt balanced, built on mutual respect, honest communication, and genuine care for one another.
One thing I appreciated most was the lack of unnecessary drama. I kept expecting the typical third-act breakup, but instead, the author allowed the conflict to be resolved through communication and trust, which made the ending feel even more satisfying.

This was honestly exactly the kind of book I needed right now. It wasn’t super fast-paced, but it also never dragged, and it didn’t need 400+ pages to tell the story. Just a really easy, feel-good fall romance.
I genuinely liked both Peyton and Liam, which apparently has been a struggle for me lately. Their first meeting with her standing in the street in this giant wedding dress after literally running away from her wedding and him almost taking her out on his Ducati was hilarious. They were both being assholes and blaming each other, and honestly, I understood both of them.
Liam was probably my favorite part of the book. He could’ve easily been the typical rich asshole MMC, but he really wasn’t. He was actually pretty layered. Once he told Peyton he was going to help her, that man did exactly what he said he was going to do. He protected her family, helped her with her career, went along with this insane fake marriage situation and, most importantly, never tried to change her.
And I think that’s what made them work for me. Peyton had spent years with a man who slowly made her smaller and controlled basically every part of her life. Liam genuinely liked her exactly as she was. Meanwhile, Liam had spent his entire life trying to be good enough for a father who was never impressed by him, and Peyton became the person who actually saw him, believed in him and stood up for him.
The whole sanctuary moment? Yeah. That got me.
I also REALLY appreciated that we didn’t get some stupid third-act breakup or ridiculous miscommunication just because the book needed drama. They had problems, they talked about them, and they figured shit out like adults. Their fake marriage just slowly became a real one, and it actually made sense considering these two were living together, sleeping in the same bed and basically building a life together.
There’s very little spice, but I honestly didn’t care. This was just a cute, easy October/November palate cleanser with characters I actually liked, a happy ending, and enough going on to keep me interested.
After the luck I’ve been having with books lately, I will absolutely take it.

She ends up in a small town that resembles a lot a ghost town since almost every single establishment is closed. Peyton is alone, cold, stumbling across the roads in her wedding dress with a dead phone, when she almost gets run over by a grumpy millionaire: Liam. Their first encounter goes pretty bad, so when she ends up at his hotel and gets mistaken for his wife, managing to get Liam something he never had, his father’s approval, he comes up with an offer she can’t refuse and they get married.

I am a longtime romance lover, and marriage of convenience is one of those tropes that almost always catches my attention. After reading “Rein Me In,” I was excited to return to this world, especially since Liam was one of the characters who stood out to me in the first book. Add in a runaway bride, a small-town setting, and a fake marriage, and I was more than ready to dive into this story.
I really liked both Peyton and Liam right away. My heart hurt for Peyton as more details about her previous relationship came to light. It quickly became clear that walking away from her wedding was one of the bravest things she could have done. I loved watching her slowly rebuild her confidence and realize that she deserved so much more than what she had settled for. Liam was easy to root for as well. Despite coming from one of the wealthiest families in town, he never felt arrogant or entitled. More than anything, he wanted to protect the people he cared about, and I loved how consistently he showed up for Peyton when she needed him most.
One of my favorite things about this book was how naturally the relationship developed. What starts as a practical arrangement slowly becomes something much deeper, and I found myself rooting for them every step of the way. There were several moments that made me smile, but there were also some emotional scenes that really highlighted how much both characters had grown. I also enjoyed getting to see more of Lila, and I am already looking forward to reading her story.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. It was sweet, romantic, and had just the right amount of emotional depth. The epilogue was especially satisfying, and I loved getting one final glimpse into Peyton and Liam's future. I also have to admit that seeing Matt finally get what was coming to him was a very nice bonus.
