So, my version was 552 pages, and has no real ending, no second (or more) book. This is grossly disappointing. Also, who is the real author? There are multiple books with the same title and description, but different lengths and authors. I mean, it is clearly an app read that may or may not have been lifted by a few people and posted on Amazon.
Anyway, the format is inconsistent. The font size changes, the listed point of view isn't always mentioned, and there was a random editor's note on quality about 80% in. I found listing "POV" annoying as well. First, if you are using an abbreviation, list out the meaning on the first use. Second, the name alone is sufficient.
The lack of scene building was hard. I typically didn't know how much time had passed between chapters. There was one scene where she got up from kneeling, and I was confused because I didnt know was knelt down in the first place.
There was no overall arc for a climax. It should have occurred between 80 and 90%, outside a reveal on a curse, there was nothing. The ending was a huge cliffhanger that basically suggested the book published what was currently released and was good enough. I definitely want to read more, but I will probably forget to circle back by the time it happens.
Sidenote, she didn't feel very beloved to me. Just saying.
Really a decent read with some skipping around that’s hard to follow at times but still gripping but there is no sequels and just leaves you in the middle of an unfinished book. Don’t read unless you want to be disappointed by not ever reading the full version. So many versions of this book by different “authors” yet not a single one is the full story.
