Crisp, concise and emotional. Loved it. The husband always bolstering himself like the rat who got the cheese. He was the rat who got the cheese. But as all rats, they are unwelcomed. The OW, with her warm, inviting personality was a great example of someone living in fantasy world and pretending her actions didn't mean much. Only the break up of a family, embezzlement of a business and a theft of a husband. No big. But I loved the heroine. A hard working, honest country gal that got bamboozled but kept a tight rein on her emotions and got the job done of separating herself from the disease. Great story.
I think consequences is a better word than revenge for this story. How a husband could have an affair with his wife’s best friend is disgusting. I was so angry with their betrayal. Good job writing the story
So many of these are cookie-cutter. This one is readable. The betrayal is really cold, and I could feel Marla's pain. What Davina did was really heartless.
This is the first five star review I’ve given to this type of short betrayal/revenge novellas I’ve read. While short, I felt all major points were addressed and the inclusion of an epilogue made it complete. I like that the end showed that the main female character did not become bitter.
