While a bit slow to start, this book proved to be quite entertaining, and a different take on the isekai model.
The MC is a guy on Earth that dies in an accident and wakes up as one of the side characters in an obscure unfinished book series he had read. The body he inhabits is one of the more despicable villains from the series, one destined to die at the hands of one or more of his fiances. He's not the same man, but the body/soul of that man tries to influence him at times, giving him fierce headaches when the MC resists. So how does one of the most hated men in the kingdom try and make his fiances like him? Read along to find out.
The MC has two lovers by the end of the book. The first is a maid he takes from the family of one of his newly identified fiances. The other is the first fiance, but she's the one he has to really work hard to get her to actually like and respect him. He realizes actions speak louder than words, so he puts actions into motion. Ah, I found a hidden gem. The MC is a joy to read, not just because his paranoia is funny (not sorry) but the villain side of him adds a fun new aspect to his behavior. The women are perfect, loved the two lovers, very curious how he'll conquer his next fiances. It was a lot of fun to read.
One gripe! Heavily over-uses the phrase: ", no?" Like, "That had to be a certainty, no?" Over and over and over. That was supposed to be the MC's tick but it turned into everyone's.

A nice idea poorly implemented
This has some creative and original ideas, with the main character dying in our world and somehow possessing the body of the antagonist from an unfinished fantasy series. Since he remembers that the antagonist died in the original story, the main character decides to try to prevent such an end, and tries to turn the antagonist's enemies (mostly his future wives) into allies. It's a villain-to-hero story, with quite a clever setup that allows for the main character to know things about the world and its characters that he wouldn't otherwise be able to know.
The world itself seems interesting enough, but there's very little background information imparted to the reader, making some of the intricacies rather confusing at times. There's very little action of any sort, with most of the novel devoted to character development of the mostly uninteresting and unlikeable characters, and political manoeuvring and intrigue in a world that is explained too poorly to care much about. It's too long for the content, and thus somewhat boring at times. There are also some pretty big issues with continuity and consistency.
Writing quality is rather poor, even for self-published KU. It reads like an unedited early draft, with a vast number of errors -- at least a few per page, on average -- though they're not always quite the same as the usual ones I encounter with KU. Sure, there are many of the typical problems with verb tense, swapping between narrative past, past perfect, present perfect, present, or future tenses in the same sentence or paragraph, and a demonstrated complete lack of understanding of how to use the past perfect in particular. And yes, there are many mismatches between singular and plural, garbled sentences, incorrect words, extra words, missing words, words out of order, adjectives where adverbs are required, incorrect and inconsistent capitalisation, and many, many other assorted errors. But this author also seems to have very big problems with punctuation, substituting commas in places where semicolons, colons, or even em-dashes, on occasion, should go. Periods should often be commas, for that matter, and most of the ellipses shouldn't be there at all. There are also some weird and incorrect instances of "one" as a pronoun.
There is also a complete misunderstanding of basic mathematics: “Day one: Eighty silver in sales. Two hundred percent lower than expected.” One hundred percent lower than expected means that there were no sales at all. Two hundred percent lower means that somehow the people selling managed to pay their customers 100% of what they had expected to sell! Oh dear.
There are dangling connectors (while, though, and so on) with no connecting grammar, making the prose feel disjointed and scattered at times. Worsening this feeling are too many fragments and very short paragraphs that should be better connected to those around them, as if the author wants to separate them to make them stand out. The problem with this is that, since there are some sections with so many paragraphs like this, one after the other, none of them stand out. The narrative instead becomes more like a list of disconnected events. I know modern creative writing advice pushes some of these things for genre fiction, but this author takes that advice too far. This would have been much better with properly constructed sentences in properly separated paragraphs.
There are little asides, usually in the wrong tense, that further interrupt the narrative and get close to breaking the fourth wall at times, while also seeming incredibly juvenile. There are some weird constructions where the intention seems the opposite of what the text actually says, or where the word order is slightly off and unnatural. Dialogue, too, sometimes seems unnatural: sparse, overly snappy and snarky, and somewhat disconnected. I kept having to go back and reread the previous paragraphs because I felt I'd missed something, but that didn't help. The writing is very choppy and makes the story harder to follow than it should be.
And finally, I'm not a fan of the perspective changes. The book is written in the first person, mostly from the perspective of the main character. But every now and then there is a short chapter from the perspective of one of his future wives, and none of them feel necessary to me. They take the reader even further out of the flow of the narrative and don't add enough to make the cost worthwhile. In some cases, they don't really add anything at all.
All of that said, I was interested enough in the premise that I pushed myself to finish it, but now, having done so, I sort of wish I hadn't wasted the time. A good proofreader would have a field day with this, and a good copy editor would throw at least a quarter of it away. Both would serve to make it a much more readable and enjoyable book. But even then, it would still be rather boring.

book is excellently written and edited mc is on the ball and not stupid but mc lacks personality like a system without an OS every girl installed their own version and played him like a fiddle no back bone or opinion from the mc so much that he comes across as a simp and all this because the last owner of the body was an asshole!? he is slapped, stabbed disrespected, assassinated and etc but not a objection from the mc he just shrugged like a wet noodle.
most of the book is FTB with only one scene at the very end of the book that isn't ftb and it's lacking for such a long book and it's sort of my personal ick for the books that delay it until the very end and make it like a throwaway thing. I'll check the next to see if there is any improvement. 3.5 🌟

I really wanted this "villain isekai" type of story for men, and this delivered really well.
- I love the power system, this is almost as good as a guardian spirit beast;
- The fiancees so far are really interesting characters, as in their personalities are well thought out and their actions make sense;
- Anna is the best girl.
I hope there are more actions sequences in future books tho, since I loved the fights that got into this one.

Unexpected
This book blew me away starting from the first chapter. I hadn’t expected it to be this good. There’s a great blend of comedy, romance, and character building. I love how this entire book focuses on just one harem member. If each book focuses on one harem member then we’ll have a nice long series.

Great new series.
My only complaint about this book would have been the FTB for the spice but without spoiling, this author seems to save the actual spice for when it matters. And thats fine with me. The characters are all fantastic and I absolutely love our MC, overall this book was a joy to read, and I will be reading the next one.

What a great story.
I legitimately struggled to put this book down. I normally read silly harem novels before bed to unwind, but this book kept me awake wanting to read more and more. I cannot wait for the next installment. If you have any misgivings, drop them. This is well worth the read!

Fun story and original premise!
I enjoyed this the whole way through. It was a light enjoyable read with fun and well built characters. The main love interest felt complex and had her own motivations which was quite refreshing.
Happy to read the whole series as it comes out!

A lot more than I thought
I really enjoyed this book. I had a feeling it was gonna be full of cardboard characters but they actually have some decent substance. I look forward to the sequels and other series the author will make.

Start of a great series
I was highly impressed with how much I ended up liking everything from the character development and magic system to the conflicts in this book.

great transmigration novel
I am a sucker for transmigrating into a villain in Korean novels and always wanted a more westernized version, and this definitely scratched the itch. Loved the first book and looking forward to more.

Very good book
This is a fine fantasy harem adventure novel. It is well written and edited. I especially like Anna. I anxiously await the author's next novel.
