I loved it. I didn’t have it 5 starts because of the writing. But I think it was not that good because it was not a official translation.
But I love it. I read it after I saw the first episode of the series. And I cried, I thought about religion. It hurts me so hard that tanrak had to struggle between his believes and love. Love is something natural that you can chose.
I mean. The gay panic tanrak got. I really liked how it was written in the book. Because it’s written like he doesn’t have a chose. His body has a natural reaction to being close to tanrak.

The piano scene so cute, the scene where Barth says he’s gay, its was so beautiful. Its like tanrak knew he was not the only one. The past of these boys was really good written and connected with the karakters, the ending. Wow I’m so happy, I love that tanrak has chosen love.
I really recommend it.

Tengo mucho que decir sobre este libro.
Me encantó; no tengo palabras suficientes para describir el impacto que tuvo en mí esta historia. Crecí en un entorno que quizá no era tan adoctrinado por la religión, y tampoco pretendo juzgarla, pero siempre compartí el mismo sentimiento que Barth: “¿Por qué Dios me abandonó? Si se supone que Dios ama a todos sus hijos, ¿por qué no me escucha a mí?”. Durante mucho tiempo me hice esas mismas preguntas. Desde pequeña quise entender por qué, si Dios ayudaba a todos, yo sentía que me había dejado sola.
Por eso conecté tanto con los personajes, especialmente con Thanrak. Me pareció muy humano verlo cuestionarse constantemente lo que sentía, incapaz de comprender o quizá de aceptar sus propios sentimientos. Su conflicto interno se siente puro y crudo, porque muestra el dolor de alguien que ha sido educado para creer que solo existe un camino correcto.
Thanrak pasó toda su vida siguiendo un plan: amar a Dios y ganar ese “boleto al cielo” para reencontrarse con sus padres. Sin embargo, al conocer a Barth, comienza a poner en duda todo aquello que siempre había considerado una verdad absoluta. Ver cómo lucha entre sus creencias y sus sentimientos fue una de las partes más conmovedoras de la historia.
Lo que más me gustó fue su evolución. Thanrak aprende que aceptar quién es no significa abandonar su fe. Al final, comprende que puede amarse a sí mismo y, al mismo tiempo, seguir amando a Dios. Para mí, ese mensaje fue hermoso, porque habla de reconciliar la identidad propia con las creencias personales, sin tener que sacrificar una por la otra.

10/5 My tear ducts are completely drained —I can barely gather my thoughts. A beautiful, poignant, + deeply relevant read. 👏
I would have loved a slower burn between the characters, but the emotional weight of the story more than made up for it.
Its exploration of faith, identity, and the struggles of being a gay Catholic was handled with such honesty + depth that it left a lasting impact on me. It’s thought-provoking, and ultimately unforgettable.
We need more stories centered around this. Coming from a Catholic country, —I hope we can learn to love another & just update bible.

I would have liked to see all the conflicts shown & resolved but this IS after all based on a GMMTV BL so they probably wanted it lighter.
Watched 2 episodes of the show —it is much better in that format though.

This had me ugly crying!!! Although it deals with heavy topics such as religion, homophobia, domestic violence, and religious guilt, it is a beautiful and hopeful story about how faith and love can coexist.
The characters felt real, and their struggles and emotional burdens were heartbreaking to witness, especially if you've gone through something similar...
It's really short and doesn't go into many details probably because it was adapted from the series but it still manages to leave a strong emotional impact.

I feel like the pace was too quick. Since I read using the English translation, there are probably few moments I didn't catch quite right. Overall, I like the book, but I find it lacking in detail, especially because I’m also watching the ongoing adaptation. Watching the series is actually what helped me get into the story and capture the right feeling, so I think it’s the show's execution that makes it so good. As a standalone book, it just feels a bit underdeveloped.

Me la viví en pánico como si yo estuviera pasando por eso. Los tqm Barth y Tanrak, me vi reflejada en ustedes.
El storytelling pudo ser mejor, pero las emociones me dieron en la madre y por eso 4/5. Recomiendo 100%
