Thank you to the author for the opportunity to read this arc. Here is my honest review.
Ms. Hawkins has woven a beautiful masterpiece for us to enjoy. From the very first chapter there were high stakes, it was fast paced, and it gripped my attention. I knew immediately that I was hooked.
I flew through this book in just a few days. The creepy forest, the Mnethri, and even the hunter had me impatient to know WHAT was going to happen. The twists and turns got me (I did NOT see some of those twists coming).
The way that this book was written was just overall stunning. I was completely sucked in and was SO incredibly sad when it was over.
I received a copy of Echoes of Starlight from the author, and I absolutely loved it! From the very beginning I was drawn into the story. I did not want to put it down! One of the books, greatest strengths is its character development. The characters are so well written and believable that I felt like I knew them personally by the end of the story. There was never a dull moment. The story moves at a great pace and keeps the reader engaged from start to finish. The author does an excellent job of blending fantasy, action, romance, humor, and mystery into a seamless and entertaining adventure. Fantastic read. 😊

The first chapters are very descriptive, drawing you immediately in. This book had eerie vibes to it with undertones of afterlife, some gods, and "travelers" beings such as faes and human types with magic from other worlds that meet up in one area called the inn. I'll be honest there were some parts that confused me but I didn't dwell on it and just kept reading because it was interesting and well paced. The main characters developed and interacted well. There was friendship gained, a mission to accomplish and an underlying attraction with a happy ever after ending.

This was story was such a unique and refreshing read. I honestly haven’t read anything quite like it before, and I loved how original the story felt. The mystery and adventure were my favorite parts of the book — I really enjoyed trying to figure out what was happening with the forest and uncovering the secrets alongside the characters.
I especially loved the plot twists throughout the story. A lot of books weave in so many hints that you can see the big reveal coming from a mile away, but that wasn’t the case here. I genuinely didn’t see some of the twists coming and was pleasantly surprised, which doesn’t happen often!
My only wish is that we got to explore more of the different worlds introduced in the story. I found the worldbuilding really interesting and would have loved to spend more time discovering the different places, learning more about the characters’ backstories, and exploring the lore behind the worlds (maybe a sequel?).
I also really enjoyed the ending and how each of the characters got a chance to come full circle. Overall, a memorable and imaginative story with a mystery that kept me guessing and a world I would love to explore more of.
If a book makes you ugly cry more than once it means it's a good book right?
Y'all DnD players better put this on your TBR. It reads like a campaign. I can only hope I get to run a campaign or play in one that makes my heart feel this way.
There's romance (it's secondary) There's action (a lot) There's emotions (hence the ugly crying)
It's a story of hope, found family and never giving up.
I was lucky enough to receive an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. This book grabbed me from the beginning. It’s such a good read, it was difficult to put down. It has such a great cast of characters. I felt like I was right there alongside all the action. 10/10 I definitely recommend.

Echoes of Starlight was an enjoyable read. The intrigue started from the very first pages and I already wanted to know more. I wish the book had delved deeper into some plot lines, but overall it tied together nicely. Great debut book!
