I'd Kiss You in the Rain: Part One of the Perfect Storm Duet

Not yet published
Expected 23 Oct 26
They were always going to break the rules.

Noah didn’t really think things through when he agreed to be his brother’s best man. Now he’s stuck in a tiny village on an island in the Scottish Highlands, surrounded by family and strangers, with no way to escape. Within the first week he’s feeling like lightning ready to strike at the slightest provocation. And yet somehow, a man he hasn’t seen in nine years manages to calm the storm within.

Noah was eighteen the last time he saw Robbie. He can still remember his infatuation with the twenty-three-year-old Scotsman, and seeing him again after all these years threatens to bring all those feelings back. But Robbie isn’t what Noah needs, and he’s definitely not what he wants.

~

Robbie is in a world of trouble. His best friend’s little brother has just crash-landed back into his life, taken all Robbie’s rules about not getting attached, crushed them to pieces, and handed them back to him as if to say, We’re doing things my way now.

And Robbie is going to let him—even if breaking his rules means breaking his heart.

I'd Kiss You in the Rain is a Best Friend's Brother MM romance that ends in a cliff hanger. This is a prequel to Book 2 Don't Make My Mistakes. As with all my books this short story contains scenes that may be distressing for some. Please read the content warnings. This story also contains a lot of spoilers for The Face of My Killer as the timelines run parallel.

202 pages, Kindle Edition

Jordan Victoria has a talent for writing shorter books that never skip out on plot. A talent that I think is rare to find.

I LOVED having the POV of Robbie and Noah for the same timeline as TFOMK - this is something that normally would be difficult to convince me is worthwhile and ends up feeling repetitive but it was PERFECT and I loved every moment of it.

As someone with AuDHD who gravitates to books with ND rep, I found it was extremely relatable and done in a way that it was obvious that the author was writing from lived experiences and not just throwing in a ND rep trope just for the sake of having it. So well done.

Finally I need to comment on the SPICE. yeah, we have another slow burn but GIRL the wait is worth it. 10/10 perfect

That cliffhanger😱😱 Can't wait to continue their story. You have to read this series in order or you get spoiled.

Jordan has a easy to read writing style and I flew through this book. The only thing that I stumbled upon were the many names and characters. Maybe it's a personal thing but I got confused sometimes who is who again and I did read the first book.

Love how she writes romances with a little unique edge and I'm dying to know what is happening with Noah!

So this story is about Robbie and Noah! Both we meet in the face of my killer! If you didn’t read that first you will absolutely be spoiled in this one! Noah is a brat don’t get me wrong but he has so much trauma he can’t sleep alone that’s why he’s always in baileys bed!
Robbie is flirty AF and it’s super cute when he tries to flirt with Noah and Noah is so spiky LOL but Robbie like Noah is carrying trauma too and he doesn’t realize how much until Theo almost drowns like his dad!
So Noah has a fear of being alone so when Bailey and Theo go for a while he ends up staying at Robbie’s and nothing happens at first but they get close as close as anyone can get to Noah!
Robbie falls hard and they do have some spicy time but it comes with rules that Noah put in place I think he’s worried about being happy and wanting Robbie like he doesn’t deserve happiness after the car accident that took his mom and little brother!
Beware this ends in a cliffhanger because this is a duet! And while I hate cliffhangers this one was worth it!! I absolutely cannot wait to see what happens next! Before the cliffhanger the testing Robbie does to Noah the yearning!!!!!

This book started off with me instantly relating to one of the main characters, Noah. You get thrust into his family dynamic, his mental health struggles, and his story of trauma. My heart went out to Noah immediately and I completely understood his reactions to his past.
Robbie was a breath of fresh air. Loved his golden retriever energy and his big heart. This book definitely gives you a look into how grief and trauma can effect everyone differently, also how it can effect the people around when going through the grieving process. The dynamic between Rob and Noah is addictive. I loved their story. This book brought me to tears a couple times and that rarely happens to me in books. This does end in a HUGE cliffhanger! I do recommend this book and highly suggest reading The Face of My Killer before reading this book. I absolutely loved it and will be reading the third book of this series/part two of this book.🩷

I’d Kiss You in the Rain
Noah & Robbie
THAT WAS TOP TIER. I NEED THE NEXT BOOK PRONTO.
I am officially unwell.
Getting their POVs from TFOMK and seeing everything blend together so perfectly? CHEF’S FUCKING KISS. I loooove Teddy and Bailey, and now I’m going to have to reread their books just to emotionally recover from this cliffhanger.
And the way the story weaves in their individual flashbacks?! So good. I loved that we got Noah’s trauma revealed a little more slowly and got to see the differences in how he and Robbie process and handle everything.
Honestly, where do I even start with this book?
I think this book may have officially surpassed my love for Bailey and Teddy.
I DID NOT THINK THAT WAS POSSIBLE.
But then we got NOAH.
Our bratty, drama-filled, pink-obsessed, dino nugget loving neurodivergent brat baby. A young man absolutely drowning in grief and holding onto it so tightly that he won’t allow himself to experience any real joy.
And the way Robbie cares for him?!
I WAS SCREAMING AT MY KINDLE.
Noah, I love you. I really do. But there were several moments where I wanted to throw a pillow at your head. I just want to scoop this man up, shake him a little, and tell him he deserves happiness.
I love him so much, and I cannot WAIT to see where his story goes in Bratty Boy.
And then we have ROBBIE.
Our giant in EVERY SINGLE WAY golden retriever puppy of a man who just wants to love and be loved.
I absolutely adored the way he cared for Noah. His patience. His understanding. The way he never tried to force Noah to heal on anyone else’s timeline.
This man is such a beautiful example of what it can look like to work through your own trauma while still showing up for someone else.
And I love him.
I love his slutty little shorts and leggings.
I SAID WHAT I SAID.
I genuinely cannot wait to watch these two find their way to each other because I already know it’s going to be something BEYOND WORDS.
And Jordan?!
Girl.
YOUR WORDS.
The way you can write these characters and make me feel EVERYTHING is actually rude.
Did I know there was going to be a cliffhanger? YES.
Was I prepared for it anyway?
ABSOLUTELY FUCKING NOT.
That ending didn’t completely destroy my heart.
Just… mostly.
Now I’m sitting here waiting for the next book, knowing damn well it’s going to alter my brain chemistry, ruin my emotional stability, and have me losing my ever-loving mind.
I CAN’T WAIT.
Bring me Bratty Boy immediately. I am already emotionally attached and apparently incapable of protecting myself.

This book had me in a chokehold from the minute I started it. I could not put it down. I really didn’t realize how much I needed Noah and Robbie’s story/perspectives after reading TFOMK. Ohhhhh Jordan did not disappoint.

I’d Kiss You In The Rain is so beautifully written. Both the grief and neurodivergent representations are so well done.

Noah, my sweet baby Noah. Ohh my heart physically hurts for what he went through & the guilt he has continued to carry into his adult life. The way he carries his grief hurts, knowing he refuses to truly work through everything because he doesn’t feel like he deserves it??? Tear my heart out why don’t you. I love him so much, but my god that doesn’t stop me from wanting to scream in his freaking face. The literal definition of a little shit ohhh my god. Still love him though hehe.

Robbie!!! The biggest teddy bear with golden retriever energy. What a breath of fresh air. He may be known as a player who doesn’t do relationships, but this man is down bad for Noah & I am here for it. His back story & seeing the work he’s done to work through his grief was devastating. His fear of everyone he loves leaving him breaks my heart.

Getting Noah and Robbie’s perspectives of what went on in TFOMK was also something I never knew I needed. & it was done so perfectly, it didn’t feel repetitive and followed the same timeline so freaking well.

The end????? I’m reminded yet again why I do not like cliffhangers cause what do you mean I have to wait??? I wanted to scream. I am trying so hard not to hate certain characters right now it’s actually crazy. But I am freaking SAT. Give me Don’t Make My Mistakes right now pls 🥰

What do you mean I have to wait almost six months to see how the story continues in Don’t Make My Mistakes?

I was supposed to get this ARC on September 23rd, but when I suddenly got it in my mailbox on the 19th, you best believe I dropped everything and immediately dove into it.

I’d Kiss You In The Rain is the second book in the From Sea and Skye series.
While it can be read as a standalone, it does contain massive spoilers for the first book since the stories take place at the same time, so I would definitely recommend reading The Face Of My Killer first.
All the characters are introduced in that first book too, which definitely helps in keeping track of who is who in this one.

If you’ve read the first book, you already know something is going on between Robbie and Noah, but you obviously don’t know what.
While the story isn’t as dark as the first book in my opinion, it’s still an emotional journey - my heart was already breaking in the first chapter.

I squealed/screamed when I figured out where the name of the book came from and then I screamed again at the ending, because it ends on a cliffhanger and now I have to wait until early next year for part two of Robbie and Noah’s story.

I really have no notes. I loved this book from start to finish, and I am eternally grateful that I was able to read this story as an ARC.

(I received this book as an ARC and I am leaving this review voluntarily.)

Robbie and Noah had my heart and my tear ducts in a choke hold for entire story!

You know a book is going to break you when you’re crying at the bloody dedication! An absolutely beautiful, and heartbreakingly accurate, representation of neurodivergence and grief. How the two can compound the other making it so damn hard to process things.

Noah’s refusal to seek help because he’s terrified of not seeing his baby brother anymore was just heartbreaking, and then knowing that he blames his 7 year old younger self for the accident that took his mother and brother? I wanted to desolve into the pages and cuddle him and tell him it’s going to be okay.

And Robbie. Beautiful, cheeky and charming Robbie, trying so hard to get through Noah’s exterior and almost getting there! Having read The Face Of My Killer I knew about Theo getting hurt diving, and the Bailey/Shane of it and yet I still felt the suffering of Robbie seeing 2 people he loved almost dying and dredging up that long held fear he’d had since his parents died of people he loves leaving him.

On a more positive note the pink jock and the slutty little shorts did not disappoint!

Jordan’s ability to convey the most heartbreaking emotions, true depictions of neurodivergence and grief, mixed with charming humour and delicious spice is absolute perfection!

Call me a masochist because I cannot wait for her to break my heart once again when book 3 ‘Don’t Make My Mistakes’ comes out early 2027.

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this book.

I'm going to try and write this without giving too much of the story away.
Just know this book will have you in a chokehold from the very beginning.
There will be tears, anger, smiles and laughter.

I absolutely adored Robbie and Noah, what both boys have been through absolutely broke my heart, and the way they both coped with it so differently but also in some ways the same.

The writing was absolutely fantastic, the way the grief, Neurodivergent rep, spice, brattiness and banter was handled and portrayed is part of what makes this book an absolute must read.

Loved the appearance of the slutty shorts and pink jock too.

I knew it ended on a cliffhanger but still.....
I'm so excited for the next book 'Dont Make My Mistakes' which is out next year, and to see where their story takes them.

This book will make the tears flow freely, but you’ll also laugh and even feel furious—yet it’s all worth it.

The story is so well written. The way Jordan handles the subject matter is truly fantastic; she has clearly done her research.
Through the storyline, she draws you in right from the start, making it hard to put the book down.

These two main characters, with their respective pasts, belong together; they complement and protect one another. I’m already longing for the next installment.

💞Thank you to the Author for the opportunity to read and review this ARC💖

Omg!! I absolutely 💯 love this book. I can't wait for book 3. The continuation of Noah' and Robbie's s story. My heart breaks for these characters and what they are experiencing .

I would definitely start with the 1st book. The Face of My Killer though to get every characters experience so you can get the total effect.

. Read your trigger warnings as well. There are sensitive subject matters.

Also note this books ends on a cliffhanger.
So well worth the read.

This story follows Noah and Robbie who we meet in The Face of My Killer and their story coincides during the same time and events as FOMK.

Noah, the demon twink is quite literally one of the most broken boys I’ve read. He hurt my feelings with how much he punishes himself for something that happened when he was a child, but refuses help, refuses to talk about it, and seeks out unhealthy and painful outlets to deal. His grief consumes his whole being, but we see snippets of his humour and the potential when he stops actively thinking he deserves nothing good. He has a soft heart, but also exists in a world that doesn’t always cater for AU ADHD, something I related to heavily, and Jordan has represented some of the triggers and reactions to stimuli so beautifully raw.

I yelled so many times at him however because Noah is frustrating. He KNOWS he’s not ok, he KNOWS he copes with grief in the most destructive ways possible, and yet he offers no softness for himself but has the deepest capacity for empathy for his bestie, Bailey. He is bossy and abrasive, but Robbie’s sweetness and steady presence allow Noah to soften. There’s moments where Noah allows himself to feel something other than self-hatred and it’s beautiful. But then he just snaps it back and reverts to self-flagellation. As a I said, frustrating and heartbreaking.

Robbie is also dealing with grief, but he just refuses to entertain letting people in. He has HIS people, and is fiercely loyal and cares with his whole being, but it feels like he keeps them at arms length, his fear of losing them at his forefront. He’s a respectful one night stand king, never wanting more. Again, never letting anyone close. When Noah comes back into his life, that little flickering flame that sparked in their first meeting is sparked, and Robbie keeps convincing himself it’s nothing. To stay away. But we all know where mutual tension and yearning goes, and the spice between these guys, umm Jordan, ma’am, I was gagged. Literally!

But both of these guys are idiots, and just get in their way. Denial is both of these boys super power. Denial of happiness, denial that there is something more. Denial that this “more” will heal them.

The story is short, I ate this up in one sitting, but it didn’t feel rushed. I lost myself in the Isle of Skye, in the events of this story, and the way Jordan has set us up for the next book with that cliffhanger?!!!! Jail! Just kidding, I’m so ready to see where these boys (with a potential addition) take us!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Received an Early ARC from the Author

Jordan, of course, had me on the edge of my seat and yelling at these characters because of their behavior.

Let’s start with Noah. I love me a traumatic, bratty, pink loving twink, and Noah is as stubborn as they come. Right from the beginning, your heart goes out to him, but that doesn’t mean you won’t want to reach through your Kindle and give him a good shake for being TOO MUCH of a brat. Although, he’d probably yell at me for breaking a rule and touching him. And if pink wasn’t already my favorite color, it definitely is now. The cute outfits he wears just to tease Robbie? Bottom lip biting worthy. Every. Damn. Time.

And Robbie... ooooh, big teddy bear, golden retriever Robbie. I loved watching his character development throughout this book. He may be more accustomed to one-night stands, but the way he respects Noah’s rules, no matter how crazy some of them may seem, says so much about him. Then you add in how protective he becomes while simultaneously being completely gone for Noah, and I was SWOONING.
I also loved getting to revisit Bailey and Theo and seeing their dynamic from a different perspective. It genuinely made me want to go back and read The Face of My Killer all over again. Getting to know more of the other characters and watching all the pieces connect made the entire story feel that much more complete.

And that ending... UGH. It’s beautiful, but it also hurts because Jordan leaves you desperately wanting more. All I can say is, you’re going to want Don’t Make My Mistakes immediately.

Five stars for the pink-loving brat, his golden retriever teddy bear, and Jordan Victoria once again having me emotionally yelling at my Kindle.

5 stars! 🌟 First book in a while that made me cry - in a good way! 😭

Noah and Robbie are beautiful, tragic and special. Their story is told so perfectly and always tactful.

My sweet boy Noah definitely needs a hug (and therapy!) and our Robbie needs Noah to stay with him! They’re both broken in their own ways but also healing (or deliberately not healing) in their own ways. The author really captures how different people deal differently with trauma and tragic events in life. In made this book even more interesting and amazing to read.

I haven’t read the first book of the series so I can confidently say this book can be read as a standalone (well standalone from the series, it is only part 1 of a duet though!). It almost made me feel like I was looking at Bailey & Theo (characters of book 1) from Noah’s and Robbie’s perspective!

I cannot wait for part 2 of this duet, I’m sitting here crying over these two! They truly touched my heart, made me root for them and pulled me into this beautiful world, where every character has their own story and where every character is allowed to heal and deal in their own ways 🫂🥹

They also make me want to visit Scotland (soon!) 😉

Thank you Jordan for giving me this ARC in exchange for an honest review! I feel honoured and I cannot wait for Book 3 🥹

Oh my gosh! What the actual…

This book had me in a chokehold from the beginning to the very end! The cliffhanger like WHAT!

If you’ve read face of my killer you’ll already met Noah & Robbie. But this book take place in the same timeline.

Noah is so stricken with grief he shuts everyone out, he blames himself. Cuts out his family. Until his brother Richard gets married, where he runs into Robbie again.

ROBBIE!!! That man is known for being a play boy. But he’s also is dealing with his own traumas and grief. He’s Richard’s best friend. Robbie loves to flirt so he pushes Noah a lot.

Noah is A Pretty little Brat but also dominant. Robbie is such a beautiful soul with a heart of gold.

Noah & Robbie’s back story really broke my heart, How they had to go through grief and losing the ones they love.
Noah & Robbie only do hook ups but they are both struggling. And Omg! That one scene in the rain!!

Yes I scream at the end of this book because WHAT THE F**k!

Jordan did not disappoint left no crumbs.
Please check your trigger warnings!!

I want to start with the end: the cliffhanger is very well done, get me to book 3 NOW!!!

If I start from the beginning, please read The Face Of My Killer first. This book can be read as a stand alone, but I think it’ll make much more sense if you read Killer first.

I definitely see this book as a warm up to the third book. We get to know Noah and Robbie more, but the set up is such that we will get to know them deeper soon.

The chemistry and care between Noah and Robbie is great. The descriptions of Noah and Robbie are hot. Each one of them comes with his own unique story.

I was more drawn towards Robbie, simply because I found Noah annoying at times, but not for bad reasons. I love the difference between these characters, I was screaming at Noah one minute, then softening the next at Robbie’s patience.

I enjoyed this book, almost read it in one sitting. The story is captivating, there are many unknowns towards the end, but that’s almost what makes the book so good.

This was my first ARC read.

Another great trauma dump (in the most loving way possible)!

But really, this book has so much going on. It covers a completely different kind of trauma than The Face of my Killer. Both Robbie and Noah suffer from grief and the trauma that comes with loss. But each is at a different point in that healing journey (Noah hasn't even started).

You get to see what was going on with these two during the first book and you get the bonus of an outside perspective of the drama in book one. Though Robbie and Noah's shenanigans may not be as nice as you wanted them to be when you only had a hint of them fooling around. Both of them are pulled toward each other, but neither is ready to let the other in. It was a great tease into what their relationship can be when they are ready in book 3.

This isn't romantic, it's grief and coping and longing. It's making chicken nuggies and being forced to play scrabble to feel better. It's the perfect foundation to let each other in when they are the last resort (to be continued in book 3).

By Jordan Victoria

ARC Read/Review

Coming out 23 October 2026

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🌶️🌶️🌶️

Holy fucking cliff hanger! Like holy shit! Like how long am I going to have to wait for the next one?

Anyways, getting to now Noah and Robbie more in their own book from “The Face of My Killer” was nice. Because them being side character in the first book, you have an idea of what they are like. But now with their own book and being left in a cliff hanger! Jesus! I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed this book if I’m honest. The back stories for the both of them, the demons they each deal with is mind boggling.

With that being said make sure you read book one, get this one when it comes out. Like you just have too!!

I'd Kiss You in the Rain was the perfect start to the Perfect Storm duet. This book was full of angst, heavy emotional stakes and a push and pull relationship that creates the perfect tension. Noah and Robbie are Grumpy Sunshine and both hold so much pain in their hearts. Both men carry real and complicated baggage which makes their dynamic addictively chaotic. They have an undeniable chemistry full of pining and messy decisions. The sheer inevitability of them coming together make those high heat moments feel earned even though they both feel undeserving of each other. These two are absolutely powerless against each other
The pacing was spot-on and I loved the overlap with TFOMK from a new POV without it feeling repetitive. The cliffy is brutal and I'm anxiously awaiting the conclusion to the duet.

4 ✨ / 1,5 🌶️
.
how i feel related to both noah and robbie is so strong.
they both grieving in a different way, one is more emotional and depressed, and the other is hiding behind all smiles.
the both found each other. but noah is still grieving deeply, and is afraid to lose everything and everyone.
so he run away before everyone leaves him.
( i feel related to that because i do that too )
they found comfort in each other too, but with what happened in TFOMK, and other events, noah can’t handle more pain. i loved this book with every fiber of my being, because i feel what they feel.
and the two last lines ? give me the next book now thank you

What can I say? These 2 had me in my feels!

Noah, poor Noah. He is so haunted by his past and his grief. My heart broke for him.

Robbie? Grief also swallowed him up, but he handled it so different from Noah.

The two of them, together, trying to push on through life with the scars on their hearts?! These poor boys!! I wanted to hug them both!!

This book ends on a cliffhanger (AHHH!) and I cannot wait for book 3 to see how the relationship unfolds between Noah and Robbie. I'd Kiss You In The Rain was a great build up! Definitely has me dying to know more!!

I was very fortunate to receive and advanced readers copy from Jordan.
Would recommend this to anyone who enjoys a bratty ADHD Dino nugget eating sad boy set against a Scottish golden retriever big boy. Im glad we got this novella so we can see Noah and Robbie’s dynamic. It was so interesting to see how they both process and handle their grief and I am excited to see their story continue because that cliff hanger has me eager to see who the third partner in their love story will hopefully help heal them.

This is so beautifully written — the grief and neurodivergent rep are honestly done so well 🥹

Noah - oh my sweet baby Noah. My heart physically aches for everything he’s gone through. Carrying all that guilt into adulthood, refusing to truly work through things because he doesn’t feel like he deserves to be okay??? Why tear my heart out like that. I love him so much but I swear I wanted to scream in his face half the time — absolute little shit, but I’d still protect him with my life

Robbie - What an absolute breath of fresh air — biggest teddy bear, total golden retriever energy 😍 Everyone thinks he’s just a player who doesn’t do relationships but this man is down BAD for Noah and I am so here for it. His backstory destroyed me — all the work he’s done through his own grief, and that fear that everyone he loves will leave him? Broke my heart completely.

I devoured this! I’d definitely say it’s an emotional slow burn but I loved every minute of it. The grief representation was perfectly written there really is no timeline on getting through grief and guilt and I think the author captured that in her writing

It starts heavy and gets you right in the heart but gives you incentive to carry on to see how the characters grow up with trauma

What a cliffhanger that was I can’t wait for the next book as I need to know what happens!

For full experience DO NOT READ the blurb of book 3!

This prequel is setting the tone for what could be the dynamic between Robbie and Noah… and it will be explosive.

My heart is bruised and I am not sure for which one… well for both.

I cried for Noah and I felt my heart broke for Robbie one message at the time.
