Puckboy Problems: MM Hockey Goalie Romance

Rate this book
Truett Vale is the Hudson Huskies' favorite disaster. Loud, weird, and way too good in the net.
Keegan Lambert is the Boston Kodiaks' golden goalie. Quiet, controlled, and completely done with Truett's shit.
They used to be close. Now they're rivals who can't make it through a game without trying to get under each other's skin or into each other's head.
But hate like this? It doesn't come out of nowhere. And whatever they had before is not as gone as they like to pretend.

I can not begin to even describe the way I loved these boys. They will put you through it. But oh my goodness it’s worth it. Truett, this sometimes annoyingly irritating man, and Keegan? My grumpy, grumpy old man. They were amazing and I just need everyone else to go through this too. The hockey, the HOTNESS, the fighting, the YEARNING, this relationship was YEARS in the making and they sure MADE it. 🫶🏼

If you are a fan of the friends-to-lovers trope, you will be hooked by how this story elevates that dynamic into a gripping best-friends-to-enemies-to-lovers arc. Watching Keegan and Truett navigate this transition is electric, as their tension is so palpable you will be captivated from the very first interaction to the final page.
Truett Vale is the Hudson Huskies' favorite disaster—loud, eccentric, and incredibly talented in the net. In contrast, Keegan Lambert is the Boston Kodiaks' golden goalie—quiet, controlled, and completely finished with Truett’s antics.
While you will fall in love with them individually, their chemistry as a couple is where the story truly shines. They endure a challenging path to their resolution, needing to navigate through deep-seated miscommunication and past assumptions to finally realize the connection they have shared all along.
The emotional growth both characters experience is significant and satisfying. The side characters are a highlight—particularly Truett’s mom, who delivers her lines with the perfect mix of sass and heart.
It was also a treat to see familiar faces from the Hudson Huskies series. While this functions well as a standalone, I highly recommend reading those novellas first to fully appreciate the team dynamics before diving into this story.
If you enjoy high-stakes hockey romance, complex emotional journeys, and a payoff that feels genuinely earned, this book has it all. I have loved everything MJ has written so far, and I am already looking forward to the next installment in the series.

I want to start this review by thanking MJ Bradsher for the opportunity to read this as an ARC!

Saying that I am obsessed with Keegan and Truett is an understatement. The ride this book took me on was insane. I went from happy to sad back to happy like a merry go round. This story was incredible and I cannot wait for more by MJ!

This is a Friends to Enemies to Lovers MM Hockey romance. Goalies on the same team are the bestest of friends until the inevitable fall of the older goalie leads to him being traded. They are enemies…. but are they?? I wont spoil that but god you have to read this book. And the lovers? CHEF KISS

ARC read

Who doesn’t love friends to lovers? Oh wait….these two HATE each-other at one point in the book. So best friends to enemies to can’t take their hands off each-other. The hating is so hot that you are wondering when they are going to have hate sex.
Keegan and Truett will have you falling in love with both of them separately and then together as a couple.
Truett’s mom also tells both men how it is in the most heartwarming and sassy ways. I love sassy side characters, and this book has a few!

I have loved everything MJ writes. I would recommend reading her Hudson Huskies novella series, just so you can get the relationships of fellow team members before diving in.
I absolutely enjoyed this. You get every aspect from start to finish. Truett & Keegan go from besties/roomies/teammates > rivals/enemies > rivals/lovers. They HEA was hard fought, but there was a lot of miscommunication and assumptions. But in the end, they needed to go through the tough stuff in order for Keegan to realize what he already knew deep down 🩷 I'm excited for the rest of the books for the Kodiak Team 🤭

I absolutely love these boys. Tru and Keegan really go through a lot to get to their ending. This book has it all- emotions, hockey, a great friends-to-enemies-to-lovers plot, and a happy ending. Both characters grow so much from who they are in the beginning of the book. It was also great seeing some of the Hudson players from the other hockey series of MJ’s. Excited for the next book in the series!

Best friends to enemies to lovers hockey romance. Damn Tru and Keegan had me from the very beginning and I never wanted to put the book down. Felt all the emotions as they went through them themselves. And the last part had me crying happy tears. So worth the read.
