The Chase
Xena is an independent woman who recently started her own school in Brooklyn, NY. She is an introvert, does not go out much, but receives sexual maintenance from a neighbor whenever she wants. A chance meeting with Xavier, who is a rich play boy that likes to invade her space, bite and spank her. Xavier is a venture capitalist, who owns many businesses, buildings and has ties with people all around the country. He is used to getting what he wants from women and despite Xena's defenses; he seems to wiggle in and momentarily traps her under his spell.
After their first meeting, Xena spent most of the time running away, but still somehow felt drawn towards him. Soon she gave in, liking that Xavier was possessive and showed her an abundance of interest. However, there were several times where he crossed the line. Eventually, his possessiveness goes from endearing to overbearing, and trust becomes an issue. Needing space, Xena heads out of the country to clear her mind. However, on her return she learns of Xavier's hidden secrets that put her safety in jeopardy.
Will Xena be able to forgive and forget the wrongs that have been committed against her privacy. Will Xavier become the man that Xena needs and win the battle between lying to her again and telling her the truth? Will he risk giving up his obsession to possess her in order to prove how he truly feels?

APB Perspective Review 3.5 stars.
First I want to say if I fell in love with a stalker he would be like Xavier, he stalked Xena until he wore her down and she said yes ,or should I say out. The passion between this couple was hot like an atomic bomb, and Xavier was so sexy I felt his bite myself. I guess their relationship was love at first sexual act because the author did not show us a journey of a couple getting to know each other and falling in love , lust yes but not love . I hope we we will see Xavier and Xena fall in love in book two , yes the author left us hanging , we must wait for part two hopefully the wait won't be too long.

***This book was sent to me for an honest review!***
If I had to sum up this novel in one word it would "Hot!" every page of this novel was a page turner and had me in my feelings the whole time I was reading it. Xena who is a strong independent female works as a teacher and life coach in Brooklyn New York city. It wasn't until one night where Xena is accepted an award where she meets Xavier, a strong independent alpha male who gets what he wants. Xavier makes it clear to himself that he will have Xena in his life no matter what. Xavier is a strong male, sexy and will stop at nothing to get what he has his eyes set on.
After Xena finally falling Xavier she makes it clear to him that she is not a toy and not to be played with. Xavier and Xena together have great chemistry simply because they seem to want the same in each other. The love between Xavier and Xena is strong and real and jumps off the pages as you read their story. As I was reading I felt the hurt, pain, sexual tension as well as love that these two lovers both shared within their story. I got mad with them and I laughed with them. Reading The Chase by Xyla Turner is emotional and puts the reader in their feelings because you are rooting for the loving relationship Xavier and Xena share.
The Chase Part 1 is my most favorite romance book of 2016! I'm saying this because it's true. The way Xyla writes is amazing every scene felt real and intense. She gave her characters so much depth and emotion it's hard not to love this book. So much went down in this book that some nights I stayed up reading to know what will happen next. Plus that ending ....the ending is a shocker so I will be reading on to part 2 because its important I find out the conclusion to this book.
But overall I loved this book it was fantastic! It had all the great reading elements I look for in a romance novel and Ms Xyla Turner is a beast at writing, she is amazing! Although this was my first novel by her I will be checking out her other works because I just love her writing skills.
So I rate 5 SEXY CRAZY STARS!!!! I recommend this to anyone who loves urban romance novels with a sexy alpha male character.

I was was given a ARC of this book for my honest review! This is my first book by this author.
This is Xavier and Xena's story! This is definitely an erotica story and is rightly categorised as such, which is the right label as far as I am concerned. As an erotic story I believe it was a very good read and deserves the ratings the story has been getting.
Xavier was way too possessive and controlling for me!! I can understand perfectly how Xena found his attitude towards her, an independent strong woman in her own right, suffocating and at times demeaning as if she is not capable of taking care of her own needs. However, I understand a man's need to take care of his woman.
I think for this story to do well in the Contemporary Romance category, the storyline would need to be a lot stronger than it was.
The story ends on a cliffhanger and just when it seems like Xavier has Xena exactly where he wants her, she finds out that he has yet again, been doing things behind her back. Only this time if he tells her the truth, he may possibly lose her for good his controlling ways are about to backfire!
If you love an erotic story, then this is your book.

Different Alpha Male Spin
This was a different aspect to the "alpha" male scenario! I loved how Xena was her own woman with her own rewarding career. Although dominating and at times unethical (without giving away the book lol), Xavier showed his deep affection for her. Curious to see how this all plays out! Will definitely read more from this author!

Here is my review of The Chase, Double XX Series..Not a bad read, Pace was fast.. Xena is an educated school prinicipal that makes some hasty decisions. X Andrews is an entrepreneur with some exoctic, erotic tastes. He is not a man that takes no for an answer. He sees Xena, wants her and goes about having her at all costs. Extreme Dominant..
The hero is an over the top Alpha male who has a brother who seems to mimic him in most ways. The heroine has some issues that she needs to address but she doesn't in this book. She is too busy having intense and tense situations with her man.
The hero is over the top in his decisions, he moves her out of her comfortable apartment into his penthouse, he schedules investors to meet with her and says nothing before, and he even completes her housing purchase with her bank, because he has stock in the bank...Overbearing much????
My other issues with this book are numerous typos and grammar errors..this is new author for me, but I will read the sequel..I want to see how the last thing Mr. Andrews has done plays out for him...

Let me first say that I love all the Xyla Turner books I've read as well as the female lead characters but Xena...I didn't take to her quite like I thought I would. She is definitely a force to be reckoned with and very much an ALPHA female. Xavier aka Xavie in my head lol...I fell in love with his character. The only turnoffs are his extreme possessiveness and his need to have everything his way but then again, what can you expect from a man who has his own business and brand? I believe Together, Xena & Xavie can work as a couple if they are both willing to work at it & not run because of this and that & are willing to compromise. Both are headstrong so we'll see how that goes LOL...I absolutely loved the storyline, the plot, and character development. Great twist at the end! It's a must read! Great job Xyla!

THERE IS A THIN LINE BETWEEN AN ALPHA MALE AND A CONTROLLING MAN. XAVIER WALKED THAT LINE THROUGHOUT THIS BOOK. ONE MINUTE YOU LOVE HIM THE NEXT YOU HATE HIM. BY THE END OF THE BOOK YOU KIND OF REALIZE THAT HE REALLY DO LOVES XENA BUT HE JUST DON'T KNOW THE CORRECT WAY TO HANDLE A WOMAN LIKE HER. THE CAT AND MOUSE GAME, THE CHASE THEY PLAYED BETWEEN THEM WAS QUITE INTERESTING. I'M STILL STOKED ON THE FACT THAT THE STORY HAD A BLACK ALPHA MALE. NO OFFENSE TO BWWM, BUT THERE AREN'T MANY STORIES WITH A BLACK CHARACTER AS AN ALPHA MALE. BESIDES THAT THE STORY WAS WELL WRITTEN AND KEPT MY ATTENTION FROM START TO FINISH. THAT CLIFFHANGER ENDING THOUGH, GOT ME SCREAMING FOR BOOK TWO....KUDOS TO THE AUTHOR. SHE DEFINITELY DID THE THING WITH HER FIRST NOVEL.

Can you say hot. Xena and Xavier were so hot and steamy. A part of me knows that at times Xavier went to far, but Dam if I didn't find it sexy.( I know my independent card is gonna get pulled lol.) Having said that this is a must read that I almost didn't buy, because I didn't really care for the books description. Boy I'm glad I gave it a try. I can't wait for the next book. Xyla I know you wrote the next ones not due until 2016, but could push it up a little lol. But seriously job well done.

Mr Aroma was the man!!
This was my first read by this author Xyla but it definitely won't be my last. This book was Fiyah from the very beginning to the last sentence. Mr Aroma aka Xavier was not a man to be messed with. He wanted one thing and that one thing was Xena and even her wasn't going to get in his way of getting what he wanted. This book was very good and my type of read.. Nicely done Xyla and I look forward to reading part 2..

Thin line between alpha male n craziness
Man this book deserves ten stars. First the idea of a black alpha male is wonderful. I loved that. Xavier has aggressiveness that can tame any strong willed black woman. Sometimes he crosses that thin line into possessiveness, but you realized it's because he is truly in love. The trust at the end threw me but in a good way......can't wait to read part two......for a debut writer, xyla Turner did excellent

Loved, loved, loved The Chase! Xyla has written a story of a man who always gets what it wants and a women who is so independent that it will not be as easy as he thinks. Xena and Xavier as a couple are EXPLOSIVE in more ways than one! But will they be willing to compromise to compensate for their differences? Excellent read & I can't wait for the sequel but until then I will be reading The College President!

Pleasantly Surprised- BRAB ONLINE BOOK CLUB
This is the first book I've read by this author and I absolutely loved it. This is one of those books that you just can't put down because the characters are so captivating.
Xena and Xavier are two such characters with their zany humor, explosive sexual energy and just crazy for each other.

This is definitely an intriguing story. I do love an H up for a chase that is definitely the case here. I’m not even sure exactly why she was so resistant other than he was high handed and as a strong independent woman it pissed her off.
Pros
He’s dominant, bossy and obsessed.
He gives a good chase
The h is strong willed and doesn’t give in easily
Cons
The story felt a bit clunky to me, I wish the storytelling had been smoother
There is a breakup at one point in which h comes back to H. The H was the one out of line so he should have gone after her, she hadn’t done anything to deserve his treatment
This is a cliffhanger and book 2 is not KU. I won’t be reading the next book because while this story was ok I’m not so invested I’m willing to buy the next book for resolution.

This book held my attention and had me devouring it. I did not want to stop reading it. I liked Xena and her no nonsense attitude. I really understood her devotion to her "baby" that she created from the ground. I also could understand her desire for the right person.
Xavier was interesting. I have not met any males who were like him, so I do not know how I would honestly react, but in my mind, I would give him the business and walk away. Who truly knows? Xavier and Xena are a match for each other. I was very into this story, but hated all the errors.

Honestly, I almost didn’t read this book. However, I am glad that I did because it exceeded my expectations. This author may be newly published, but I still feel her word choice and development of the storyline was good. Although there were more grammar/spelling issues than I like, it was less than expected.
Xena: the introvert Boss, who grows to enjoy the attention from the Alpha male she meets. They say opposites attract, however when that happens people tend to resist it. Xena tries to play tough and compromise, but I don’t know she will keep up the fight. With the turn of events, and secrets I am not sure if she will look past it to quench her desires or just run from it all.
Xavier: Controlling or Protector? Depending on how you feel about letting someone have a little more control than you without being abusive. Xavier is a mystery man who has a way of getting under your skin and making you feel all types of emotions. On one hand, He makes you want to resist him based on his personality and not to be able to feel in control. Wow, well out of the gate Ms. Turner has delivered a hot, erotic, romantic, semi-thriller with two larger than life people that are hard to believe but riveting to read about. Why? Cause they are so damned intense. I’m awfully glad the Dynamic Double XX of Xena and Xavier found each other cause I think if they were with anyone else for long it would be a flame out before they got anywhere near the finish line of falling in love. Still I enjoyed the vicarious rollercoaster with these two intelligent and alpha (yes she’s one too) hotties. Looking forward to reading about Brother Matt someday (he can’t possibly be as intense can he)?

This is an all-time battle of the sexes full-fledged novel. Hero/Alpha male, Mr. Xavier is capable of running a corporation but then he meets a Heroine/Independent female, Ms. Xena, and the romance blooms on an intellectual as well as physical scale. Hot and spicy!
Men are from Mars and Women aren't from Venus....lol. Still, these characters are relatable and somewhat comical at times but that inner turmoil keeps this storyline interesting throughout the book. A few minute spelling errors couldn't even stop the flow, so I give this one 4****. I plan to read more works by the author Xyla Turner.

If Xyla Turner is a first time author, let me be the first to congratulate and applaud her for a well written book. The dynamic of a successful woman who meets a successful man was great. Xenia met her match with Xavier, or was it vice-versa? There is definitely a strong sexual connection between the two. Although X comes across as very controlling both in and out of the bedroom setting, he shows that he is a wolf and wants what he wants. He truly cares for Xenia and I can't wait to find out what he and Matthew will do in book two.

I must say I didn't think that I would enjoy this book as much as I did. Mostly because I have become so accustomed to reading IR romance....But I over loved the connection between Xavier and Xena.. I was actually getting pissed at Xavier for his possessive ways and can't say I wouldn't have acted the same way that Xena did...but in the end it seems that he was learning that he had to learn to compromise or risk losing the woman he couldn't live without....can't wait to jump into part two to see what happens now. Great Job Xyla!

Wow!!! What a book. I must say this is a exciting read. It will have you hot and flustered . A truly enjoyable read. The editing needs a little work but overall a 5 star read. Can't wait for Part 2

Xavier and Zena are too complicated individuals trying to find their footing. Xavier has opened up a new level of crazy with The hacker. Will Xena and Xavier be able to pull together or drift further apart?
