05/31/2015 --

Pretty amazing actually. How did she pack so much into so few pages. Few pages? It has about 300 pages, how is that few? Well, if you read this one, you'll know what I mean. So much depth. So many characters with a completed story arch -- beginning, middle and end. Many authors can't do that with two characters let alone 4 to 6 that she did this for here.

What did I especially like about this one?
1 -- The main characters, but which one[s]? Let's say that this book is all about Easton and Claudia. I read someone say that they really didn't want to read about a story where the woman was older than the man. Can't say that I agree with this issue - obviously, but I really don't think this is your typical older woman younger man story. Four years really isn't such a thing. Or at least when you get a bit older it isn't. She includes in the story the beginning of when these two were aware of each other then takes them through about 6 years of circumstance. It works.

East has crushed on Claud since he was 13 or so. Always trying to get her attention and she just never went there. He was the little brother of someone she didn't really like. Why would she. Then, the girl she didn't really like came into her family so she couldn't ignore him anymore. She didn't really want to. It goes from here.

2 -- Anya and Jack. I think Easton and Claudia were to be the main characters in this book, but I think Anya and Jack steal the show. Their story, their love is so powerful. I won't say anything more. Don't want to give anything away, but these two are exceptional characters.

3 -- The whole story evolution. It is told in alternating POV's; Easton, Claudia, Anya and Jack. It spans 6 years or so, but there are flashbacks to earlier times too. It really is hard to put words, without giving something away, but it really was exceptional.

Now, for a few things I wasn't over the top about:
1 -- I don't think the cover, synopsis and title really do this book justice. It comes off as being another NA throw-away. A dime a dozen stories that fill time but are unremarkable. I don't think this is the case with this story and the marketing for it is all wrong. Why? Because look at the ratings. It should have better ratings and it doesn't. I think because readers may not be wanting the depth they get here and rate accordingly.

2 -- The beginning of the book gives the impression we will be getting another NA nothing book and frankly, I could have given up at about 15% and never known what I was going to truly miss. At about 25% we start getting more meat, but the beginning wasn't impressive.

3 -- I found this when scouring Amazon for a sport themed romance. Baseball has a role, but not a significant role -- or I didn't think so. Wasn't a huge issue for me, but if you want a romance chock full of a sport; the lingo, the locker-room, the behavior, etc. This isn't the book for you.

I read Anne OK's review and was sold on the book. This author would never have hit my radar if it weren't for her review after combing though Amazon when I was funking out trying to find something that appealed. How does that happen? I'm going to read another by this author just to see if she really is as good as I think she is. This may all be a fluke. I hope not because this book was pretty amazing.

You really owe it to yourself to check this one out. I'm pretty sure you won't be sorry.

Happy Reading!

The blurb definitely intrigued me and readers' reviews intensified my curiosity with the word "epic" used often. Who doesn't love a good epic love story that takes its time to reach fruition - and this one is a double whammy because it includes two solid and enduring love stories. Doesn't every reader crave the escape into all those emotional "feels" that go hand-in-hand with a tear-jerker that includes family drama, grief, pain, tragedy, love and fate and above all else - enduring love. This reader certainly does!

Finding "Unruly" written by a new-to-me author at the low price of 99-cents on a cloudy and rainy day equals a perfect choice. Filled with amazing characters, Easton, Claudia, Jack and Anya, along with little Allison and many more, proved to be an unforgettable journey and one I won't soon forget. I must make mention that there is plenty of heat and sizzle. It's the amazing kind, too. No page fillers here. Every encounter is meaningful and breathtaking and speaks the language of love. I often say "less is more" but in this instance, I was begging for more of more!

This one is indeed a well done epic romance that stole my heart in so many memorable ways. I will definitely be checking out more from this author's backlog as well as looking forward to her next release.

I read a lot of books...sometimes so many in a week that the names get mixed up or forgotten and I lose memory of the plot...basically they become a blur because honestly, so many are not original or don't stand out from the crowd.
THIS book has become my top read for 2015...not kidding at all... it gutted me, made me cry more than once but overall just left me feeling warm, tingly all over and longing for the good old days when I lived in a small town surrounded by family and friends and warmth.
Jack is a man who loves deeply but not always in the way you might see on the outside...boyish, headstrong and living with mistakes he made as a teenager but somehow he doesn't regret because he has Claudia now.
Claudia, the hard-to-read young woman who aspires to be so much more than the small town she grew up in or the working class, blue collar men she calls family (her uncles Rocco and Getty)...she is as smart and cautious as she is beautiful.
Easton and Anya...a brother and sister who will break your heart with their stories, make you hate them and then fall so head over heels in love with them, that you will be absolutely gutted at their fate in this book.
I like to think of this novel as the "land of broken dreams" and "love lost, love found" as so many life changes befall these wonderful people in their quest to find happiness and fulfill their goals.
To say that Cora Brent can write family drama and angsty relationships is an understatement. I first read her biker books (because that genre is one of my favorites) and then moved on to her bad-boy romances...but this epic family saga is so deeply moving and spans lifetimes of all of these colorful characters, that I was left overwhelmed with emotions.
I don't want to leak too many spoilers but have to say that Unruly deals with heartbreak, death and disease that spans generations; broken dreams of a sports career, lost in the limelight and fame; teenage pregnancy and the long-lasting consequences (both horrible and wonderful); sexuality and an intense relationship that although it is not really taboo, could be considered inappropriate; and the overall message that the human spirit is way stronger than you know. Life can and will go on, even in the face of unspeakable tragedy there is always hope for a brighter tomorrow...especially when you have someone to love and cherish.
If you read one down to earth family drama this year...this should be on your list. Romantic, sexy (OMG some of the foreplay takes place over long periods of time leaving you breathless when the deed is finally done), passionate and full of real people who will stay with you long after the book is finished. Absolutely wonderful book and one of the best Mother's Day presents I received this year.

There comes a time when you read a book and it so good that you read it at a snail's pace. Not because it’s dragging but because it’s that good that you don’t want the story to end. You don’t want to say goodbye to these characters. This is that book.

This book was actually two stories. You have the story of Claudia and Easton and then you have the love story of Jack, who is Claudia’s dad, and Anya, who is Easton’s sister. These two stories were woven into one love story.

In this story it’s like one big fat Italian family.

Meet Claudia Giordano- she is back in town for her father Jack’s wedding. She never thought she would see the day her father would settle down. He did become a dad at the mature age of 15. To say that he wasn’t the best dad in the world is an understatement. I mean when people were going to prom he had a 3 year old that was potty training. It wasn’t fun for either of them.

Luckily Jack had his parents to help and also his younger brothers Getty and Rocco. I’m not sure how much they actually helped since they were only a couple years older than Claudia.

So Jack is marrying Anya, who was in Claudia graduating class and was also a mean girl. Ugh. This should be fun.

Claudia Giordano managed to stumble as she tried to exit Rocco’s car. I heard a rip and saw a peachy flash of upper thigh as she cursed and pushed her skirt down. She glanced at me but didn’t show even a flicker of recognition.
I, on the other hand, would have known her anywhere.

Watching her in the shadows is Easton Malone. The wild nineteen-year old baseball player who is insufferable, arrogant, crude, and far too close. He has been in love with Claudia since he was 14 years old. Watching her from afar knowing that she would never ever look his way. She knew of him, but she didn’t know know him. When she finally did see him... her heart stopped.

Our eyes locked and he nodded, a gesture of recognition. He knew me.
And yes, I realized I knew him too.
Time had abandoned the skinny, overactive boy who was always in motion. Instead, there stood a man.
I didn’t have time to dwell on the fact that I was face to face with a very changed Easton Malone.

Not the same boy she thought he was. He’s older, still younger than her, and he is ready for the chase. He is ready to chase her and make his hers. The only problem is, she isn’t giving in that easy, or at all for that matter. She fights the attraction that they have. She goes down fighting but in the end she finally goes down.

I was rooted to the spot. I was standing in the kitchen of my childhood with my bare feet cemented in place. I felt the slow burn of Easton’s blue-eyed gaze over every inch of my body.

It began and it ended just as fast as it started. Claudia ran; she ran from whatever she was feeling. Not giving him the time to do or say anything. One day she is there, the next she is gone and it would be two years later when their paths crossed each other again.

In two years Easton has grown up more, he has gotten a thicker skin, he also is wiser. He isn’t going to let Claudia get under his skin. He wants to get her under him, but not under his skin.

In those brief, strange days of summer we were always in a frenzy to get as much as we could as quick as we could. We knew it couldn’t last. At least I did. I knew that now too, but Easton’s movements were tender, unhurried, and he was silent as we enjoyed each other. We were both savoring the moment. It belonged to us. No matter what else happened we were destined to keep it. Always.

Their love story was a well fought battle. It seemed like they would never get together. It seemed just when it looked bright and they finally accepted the fact that they completed each other, the universe would reel on it’s axis and knock them down. In the end, it made it a grand slam home run.

“No. But Easton Malone might have just abducted my heart.”
He drew in a sharp breath and took my face in his hands. I could barely see him. But just being close to him took my breath away. That’s how it would always be, no matter if we were apart for a day or for a year.

It was a beautiful love story from young lust to true love and I loved each and every time that they lost and then found it and I was sitting at the edge of my seat with the bottom of the ninth, bases loaded and the game is tied and he just popped the ball along the foul line near third base. That is how exciting it was. (Please excuse my lack of knowledge for baseball, I’m a hockey girl.)

I must give you a little taste of the other love story in this book.
Jack and Anya.

Jack Girodano was a dad way too young in his life. He was the irresponsible dad to say the least. He didn’t know how to be a dad, all he knew was how to get in the girl pants. And let's face it, with a kid at home no one really wants to do that again so he looked for mindless sex where ever he could get it, and with him being so hot, he got it A LOT.

Anya was amazing. Jack knew he hadn’t done anything to deserve a woman like that. If there was any balance in the universe then all the ways he’d f*cked around with women would have made someone like Anya out of his reach. But, he reflected wryly, lucky for him the universe didn’t concern itself much with fairness.

Anya was dealt a crappy crappy hand by the universe. Her father took off when the going got tough, leaving her to raise her younger brother and taking care of her disabled mother. She thought she would never find love, let alone find love from the oldest Giordano brother.

Utter bliss.
She wouldn’t have believed it existed, that she could possibly fall even more in love than she was when Jack knelt at her feet and asked her to be his wife. It was in a small moments, like the possessive nature of his hand at her waist or the way he fixed her coffee the strange way she liked it, with a shot of honey.

This beautiful love story took my heart. Watching them both finally get what they both deserved made it so much sweeter. When you find true love you hold it in your hand, you hold it tight, you never let it go. Even when you’re the only one standing there, you know that the love will live with you forever, because your heart is so much better because of the love you shared.

This is a very good book. The romance of 4 individuals forming a modern family. Each of them have emotional baggage to deal with. And i love how Miss Brent brings every aspect of each character into healing and acceptance.

I especially love Claudia. I can relate to her loneliness. Desperate for her father affection. Feeling unwanted and yet she grows up into a a very independent woman. I also love how she tries to make some sort of relationship with her father.

Even though this is more focusing on romance between Claudia and Easton, my favorite part is actually between Claudia and Jack, her father.

A wonderful read.

This was an odd book to read. The prologue told me what was going to happen later in the book so the fact it's not just the story between Easton and Claudia but also her father Jack and Easton's sister Anya made me confused somewhat seeing as the story is told from all four of their POV's.

I actually preferred Jack and Anya. I felt no connection between Claudia and Easton. They are basically fuck buddies for the majority of the book. There isn't much dialogue between them so I never felt them fall in love. The book spans about six years and during that time they occasionally have sex and then other times don't speak for two years or so but then towards the end they are suddenly in love. It was such an odd 'love' story because there wasn't actually much 'love' going on but there was definitely love between Jack and Anya so I was just confused as to why the book had two love stories going on when one I knew from the prologue was going to end in sadness.

I don't think I've read a book by this author before. When I was reading this I had to go and check if this was part of a series and I still couldn't work out whether it was as I felt like the author wrote it as if her readers would just know who the other characters were. There was a distinct lack of dialogue between Claudia and Easton. They didn't share a lot about one another, they didn't have any emotional conversations nor did they have any arguments so towards the end it felt rushed at what brought them to finally admit their feelings to one another but for me as a reader, I was at a loss as to where those feelings suddenly came from! There was something distinctly lacking although I could see what impact the author was hoping to have on her readers but for me it all fell a bit flat and it certainly didn't leave me with a feel good factor.

Unruly was an okay read for me. This book is written in multiple POVs -- we have it in first person point of view of the main characters and third person point of view of all the background characters. It's not something I'm used to and I was really irritated by this.

Both the main characters lacked character development and their relationship development's also pretty much non-existent, which is pretty sad because this premise had potential. Both the main characters had sex several times in the span of a few years and suddenly, they're in love? Um no.

Intrigued by the reviews, I read this book.

Reading the prologue I thought to myself SHIT this is gonna ruin me.

There are 2 main couples of this story. Usually this is a big turn off for me because I like my books to be centered around 1 main couple.

But the story mentioned in one of the reviews really intrigued me.
Jack had his daughter Claudia when he was only 15 years old.
Jack is going to marry Anya who is only 3 years older than Claudia. Not to mention Anya was the mean girl of the school that Claudia attended.
Easton is Anya's younger brother. He's younger than Claudia by 4 years, and has been in love with her since he was 14 years old.

Now I'm not sure if it's because it's almost 2am in the morning when I finished this book, but I cried. And I hated that I cried because then the words on the screen gets all blurry and it puts a pause on the reading.

DO I regret reading a book that hits my emotions?? no, I found this to be a beautiful read.

I liked this book but it was so long.

The whole story is pretty dysfunctional... I mean Jack having Claudia at 15 and her calling him by name and not dad. Him marrying Anya who was 3 years older than her and yeah was so weird.

3.5 Star read

Overall Opinion: I guess I'm a minority here, because this was just a little bit above "ok" for me. It felt really slow at some points. I wanted more interaction between Claudia and Easton, and not so much overlap between the different characters describing the same situation. I love multiple POV stories, but this felt like it spent too much time going between the 4 characters describing things that could've been missed. It was emotional at times...I think what got me the most was Jack's regrets with his relationship with Claudia. Like I said--a step above "just ok", so 3.5 stars.

Storyline: This is a story about 2 different couples. There is Claudia and Easton. They've known each other most of their lives, but Easton is 4 years younger than Claudia. Easton has always pined for Claudia secretly and Claudia had always seen him as a little boy. They are brought together when Claudia's father, Jack, is getting married to Easton's sister, Anya. This is Jack and Anya's story too. Jack had Claudia when he was only 15, so he is a young father...but Anya is only 3 years older than Claudia and had bullied her in school growing up. Claudia has a abnormal relationship with her father because he was so young when she was born, but she tries to let that go (as well as Anya's bullying) when they are reunited for the wedding and sees how happy the couple is together. Claudia is asked to stay at her father's house (where Easton is living) to care for her great grandfather while her dad is on his honeymoon. This is where the sparks fly between Claudia and Easton. Claudia is due back in Arizona to continue on to graduate school and Easton is due in South Carolina to attend college on a baseball scholarship, so they are separated. Over the course of many years they are reunited and separated, but eventually find their HFN. Meanwhile, Jack and Anya are dealing with Anya having a degenerative disease that makes her immobile and eventually die from her lungs not working that she inherited from her mother (that died of the same disease). Their story is heartbreaking but sweet and even though it got close to the same amount of my attention in this book, I would say that theirs is a side story and Claudia and Easton are the main story.

POV: Alternating between Claudia, Easton, Anya, and Jack's POV

Overall Pace of Story: Slow. Like I said in my overall opinion section, the author repeated a few specific points in time several times because of the different POVs. I like it when the multiple POVs only overlap minimally because it makes it seem like it takes forever to get through that point in time.

Angst level: Moderate to High. I didn't personally cry on this one, but it was really emotional in several points to where I can see where someone would.

Heat level: Moderate. Several scenes between Claudia and Easton as well as Jack and Anya.

Descriptive sex: Yes.

Sex scene with OW or OM:

Cheating:

Closure: This had definite closure with Jack and Anya, and ok closure for Claudia and Easton for me. With all the different connections and separations for Claudia and Easton there wasn't much substance in their interactions because they were focused on either avoiding each other, fighting the attraction, or being intimate. I personally didn't feel secure in their HEA and would probably call it a HFN ending.

“Tell me I’m the best f**k you ever had.”

That’s how we began.
But it’s not how we'll end.
After all, this is not a simple story.
This is not even just one story.
There’s a boy, and there’s a girl. But there’s so much more than that.
Listen…

I was going home. Not forever; only long enough to watch my eternally irresponsible father marry a girl who happened to be my childhood enemy.
There were no plans to embark on some crazy sex odyssey with a wild nineteen-year old baseball player.
Easton Malone is insufferable, crude, and far too close.
The hot, reckless days we shared should never have happened.
I would forget him. Yes, I had to forget him.
Through the years, triumph or heartbreak would bring us together. Only to shatter us once more.
It was never over though. It never will be.

In the beginning we found lust.
At the end we found each other.
Along the way we found everything else.

WARNING: *Tearjerker alert!*
There will be sex. There will be bad language. There will be grief.
But there will also be redemption in the face of tragedy.
And at the center of it all is an epic tale of love and fate.

A beautiful love story many years in the making. I highly recommend skipping the prologue and reading it at the end. It took a bit away from my reading experience and I think I would have enjoyed the story even more if I hadn't read the prologue first.
*Will post full review later when I have more time.
Audible: I added the whispersync audible narration to this Kindle book. The narrators were great. I would absolutely recommend this Audible.

Usually love Cora Brent but didn't like this one that much. The book was two love stories that were wound around each other. Both heroines had unlikeable traits that I just couldn't get past, even as they both redeemed themselves. One heroine was a bully in high school, the other treated her father very badly even though he was only 15 when she was born and he pretty much gave up his young adult life to raise her.

I'm sure I'll be reading another Cora Brent book. I just didn't care for this one.

Even when you’re the only one standing there, you know that the love will live with you forever, because your heart is so much better because of the love you shared

Loved this story. Such an emotional read. I couldn’t put this book down.

Claudia, 23 years old, comes home for her father Jack’s wedding to her high school bully Anya. Claudia’s father was only 15 when she was born and she never really felt the parent/child relationship with him.

Enter Easton, Anya’s 19 year old brother who has had a crush on Claudia since he was 13. Anya & Easton had a difficult childhood due to their mother’s illness and untimely death.

Whilst Jack & Anya are on their honeymoon, Claudia & Easton get down and dirty. What started so quickly, ended even faster once the newlyweds return. But the story doesn’t end here. This story continues over the next six years with love, laughs and tears.

I highly recommend you give this book a try!

This book...wow! It made me laugh, it made me cry. The story of true love, loss and happily ever after. Sometimes they just don’t last, but sometimes they can last a lifetime and beyond. Wow amazing author!

NOTHING could have prepared me for this book.... I am in love with this story...
Not very often a story comes along and rocks you to your core. I thought for sure from the prologue it was gonna be a BLAH kind of read. I thought for sure I'd hate Easton cuz he's so cocky, didn't think I'd forgive Anya because why would I? She was a bully... And Jack... even though he was a 15 year old father and never really acted like it. I wanted to hate him too... And from reading the prologue I was so confused and didn't have a clue what was going on... It was like being thrown into a story halfway through.... but OH EM GEE... the feels!

Like I said, it's pretty rare when you find a book that catches you like this one did for me. I was sunk once I hit the second chapter. Jack and Anyas story is so heartbreaking but beautiful at the same time. You have to admire that kind of love and comittment. When you know you don't have the lifetime you were supposed to have with the one you love, but you cherish each other and each day you have with them anyway.

Easton... you could tell, even though he was a cocky jerk some of the time, you could tell from the beginning he loved Claudia. I mean, he had a wierd way of showing it, and if we didn't get his POV... like if we didn't get insight into his head and the things he thought as opposed to the things that he said. I'd have hated him. He'd have seemed like another person in a long line who treated Claudia like crap.... We didn't though, we knew what was going on with him and how he felt about her, and it made it difficult to keep reading when we knew how he felt but he just couldn't get there....

And Claudia... seriously, it seemed like everyone was always letting her down. Starting with her mom taking off when she was too little to even know her, her dad for being a kid that had a kid and didn't know his a-s-s from his elbow, grandparents who weren't affectionate and just kind of helped her exist instead of being any sort of support for her like she needed, then Easton who was a playboy, a lot younger than her and never said what he really felt so he acted just like the image she had of him.
Even though their pull was so strong to be together, they couldn't stay away from each other... it just never was the right time I guess... until it was... and it was heartbreaking and beautiful and annoying and exasperating to keep being so off an on, but the angst made everything so much sweeter when they finally pulled their head out and realized it was love and there's no runnin from that.

They all had an amazing love for Jack and Anyas daughter and I loved reading about how much Easton and Claudia loved her but how much she helped Jack after Anya passed, and how much Anya loved her even though she knew she'd be leaving her far before she wanted to.... She really made this story so much more amazing.

I love Cora Brent... I love all her stories...when I started the Gentry Boys books I thought ughhhh dang it, another author thats going to take so much of my money LOL... worth it though... this one is by far the best though... I can't say enough good things about it... It's one that'll stay with me a long time I have a feeling... Don't pass it up. If I could give more stars I so would... be that as it may, I'm only allowed to give 5, so I'll say I give this 5 very much deserved very underrated stars!

Five Stars Aren't Enough

If I only knew I had a hidden gem sitting in my kindle, I would have read this book months ago. What a beautiful story about two families from Long Island whose lives have been entwined so tightly through the years. Through birth and death, marriage and divorce, love and lust, pride and defeat, from all the beginnings to all the ends, the Giordano and Malone families gave us a heart wrenching, voyeuristic glimpse into what felt like could have been a couple of neighbors from down my very own street.
You see, I'm from Long Island. I was born here and I'll die here. I know the Malone's and the Giordano's. I know the boardwalks, the Wantagh Parkway, the beaches, LaGuardia Airport, Lutztown High (I can even guarantee what its fictional name is substituted for) to the decades old family run bakeries with the boxes wound with the red and white string. I also know the tough as nails attitude that comes from living on the outskirts of Manhattan, Queens or the Bronx along with the kindest hearts hidden under all that NY bravado.
With all that said, this book destroyed me. So much time was lost for both, Easton and Claudia and Jack and Anya. If only we could turn back our clocks because sadly, we never get enough time ... I found myself longing for simpler days, parades down Rockaway Ave, picnics in Eisenhower Park, Mets and Jets games at Shea Stadium. Thank you Cora Brent for the most tragically intoxicating book that I think I've ever read. I knew those people.

Easton & Claudia.

Anya & Jack.

I really liked this book. I loved all the characters and different stories going on.

Easton & Claudia had such chemistry. I wish Easton would've set Claudia straight in the beginning about their age difference.. that it just doesn't matter if she is older. I felt like sometimes Easton became a weak character b/c he wouldn't set her straight. He is this strong Alpha male but will always hang his head low when she mentions age. No.

Anya & Jack. I feel like i wanted them to have their own story. Why were these stories combined? They had some major chemistry. Oh man. Holy hotness. Jack knew exactly how to talk to Anya and get her going. AND they loved each other so so so much.

Once again. If these stories would've been broken up into two books I would've been so much happier. I loved all of these characters but putting two stories together into 270 pages isn't enough for me. I want more of their story.

All in all. It was a very good book. Wouldve been more stars, had it been broken up. I loved all the characters. :)

Absolutely loved this book. Tons of angst, which for me, makes romance books so much better. This story has a bit of the forbidden step brother element, but it never feels icky. The sexual tension is off the charts good. Ironically, the actual sex scenes were very simplistic and not super descriptive. I would've given it a five star rating if the steamier scenes would've been more satisfying. I also felt the epilogue was a letdown. The story was a rollercoaster ride, but the ending simply coasted to a slow stop. Can't wait to read something else by her.

I struggled to go through this book. The short sentences and crappy writing were even more of a struggle. It's like the action isn't flowing. It's clipped. And don't get me started on the narrative. It was as if this story had no beginning and no end and everything was mixed together just to... be.
There was no emphasis on any important event, so much things have happened that it was hard to keep up and actually understand where all of that was coming from.
Horrible. 1 star

Be warned. This book might make one cry. The prologue confused rather than intrigued; shifts in point of view, not just from the four characters from which it was told, but from first to third person, caused frustration. However, I was able to empathise with all and understand motives, so the frequent POV shifts oddly worked when it was all said and done.

I would have liked a name for the disease Anya had. I think I know, but confirmation would be nice.

The whole enchilada.

This book truly deserves an excellent rating. Written from four viewpoints, the story covers the thirty year history of two families without writing an epic saga. This tightly woven story shared all necessary information and fully developed the main characters, even giving enough of the minor characters to make everybody feel real. Emotions ran high, smiles and tears and realism. Not a typical romance. Kudos to Cora Brent.

3.75. This book has a surprising level of emotional depth that isn't reflected in its cover. It would have been a full four stars if it wasn't for the multiple POV switches between too many of the characters.

Loved this

I wish this was a series. This is the type of family that i wouldn't mind reading about all the time. There is a bummer though. My first book by this author was the gentry boys series and it was literally one of the best written series I've ever read. Not one time did i tire of reading it. I would finish one and immediately go to the next because it was so beautifully written and the characters were not only developed but their actions and their lives reflected the personalities and pasts that were given to them. The author didnt have to tell you a character had daddy issues because it showed in the story line. That's what was missing here. I feel it was all crammed into this one book when it should of branched into a few books and detailed how Claudia missed out with a young dad and no mom and how it affected not only her Life as a whole but her relationship as well. Looking back its easy to see Easton andClaudia didn't have a relationship. Whenever they were together they just had some explosive sex and youre just thinking man they would be good together. You fall in love with the characters separately. You see them grow into two different people who you hope end up together at some point. so of course youre excited when theyactually do end up together until you realize two absolute strangers are getting married. Yes we seen them grow and learn who they were as seperate adults living away from each other but we didn't see them fall in love. Blahhhhhhhhhh lol for anyone who understood the rambling in basic terms the book was awesome and i wish there was more for a bookaholic like me to binge all day.
