A black comedy dealing with the social, moral, and theatrical quandaries of a small village in a large, hyperactive Cebuano town called Carcar, where “most of the things described in the novel never happened.”
it is a hauntingly beautiful and difficult book to read.... it effectively paints such a colorful picture in your head. Surprisingly the image stays in your head even after you have closed the book... read it and you will know what I mean.
