When their sixteen-year-old daughter Meg is abducted, Jillian and Colton are frantic to find her. But how can they negotiate with a kidnapper who has no demands . . . beyond revenge?

Such a great novella! Twist upon twist had me riveted so that I simply couldn’t stop reading until I’d consumed the entire story. I adored that familial love was featured. Having hope in the worst of times is so crucial, and I’m glad that was highlighted here. The faith thread was so strong; I loved that!
Really good! Just enough suspense to keep you reading and a nice ending to the short book. I liked how both of the main characters were so worried about their daughter and wanted to get her back at all costs. There were a couple unbelievable things, but all in all I enjoyed it!
If you're looking for a short read, this is a good quick thriller. Two parents in law enforcement must race the clock to find their missing daughter. I'll definitely be reading more of the series.
The Webster Definition of the word 'Retribution' is a punishment inflicted on someone as vengeance for a wrong or criminal act. Now like most horror stories begin, there will always be that one person who has to switch the real meaning of a word to fit their cause.
In "Retribution" by Lynette Eason we find a family who has more skeletons in their closet than most. If you look at the title you see that it is 3.5 into the series, so I did come in behind more than the typical reader; however, Ms. Eason did such a good job at portraying the story that I felt right at home. I thoroughly enjoyed reading about two loving parents looking for their daughter, and finding that Retribution is truly about finding justice instead of just seeking revenge.
Lynette Eason is a wonderful writer, one who provides mysteries and action-packed novels that are clean and inspirational. In a world where there is nothing but negativity and filth, it is amazing to find a writer like Ms. Eason where you can be at peace about what you are reading.
This is a pretty good intense thriller. I love getting to see more of Meg. I totally understand Jillian's POV, she has always been protective of her child, she loves her, I get her. Colton and Hunter were both pretty cool in this short as well.
What I Didn't Like:
There was some introducing us to characters like book two did that I thought wasn't necessary. I would have liked it better if the author showed us who they were instead of telling us.
This is also a novella, so short. So everything went a little fast.
Content in Book:
This is a crime story, so be aware that the contents might have some spoilers.
1. Violence (intending to bring a knife down on someone's head showing it on camera, hitting someone, killing people, threatening to hurt or kill people, shooting people, etc.)
Special thanks to Sarita, my good Goodreads friend and buddy for the 2018 Christian Fiction Bloggers group Duo Team Challenge, thanks for recommending this series to me, I LOVED IT!!! Like you said I was going to. =)
Yet another gem from Eason, just wish it had been longer! I can't get enough of my favorite characters in the Deadly Reunions series, and getting to catch up with them all was like a dream come true for me! While the villain was predictable and I guessed that character's identity early on, it was still VERY suspenseful to see how it all played out! Getting to join the adventure as best friends, Jillian and Colton, Serena and Dominic, and Alexia and Hunter raced yet again to stop evil from winning was like a combination of nostalgia for the good old days--remembering all the cases I'd had the pleasure of watching them solve in past books--and a joyful reunion with wonderful friends! This book made me soooo happy. It left me grinning like an idiot and cackling like a giddy hen! Thank you so much to Lynette Eason for writing Retribution, and I hope these characters will make further appearances in future books!
I picked this novella up without reading the rest of the series so I'm sure it would have been more enjoyable had I read the other books. I liked the exciting plot and characters and this story definitely makes me want to give this series a try.
The author packed a lot of punch in a short space!!! It was an easy read but had a lot of action, mystery and an abundance of faith and trust in God!!!!
7 years have passed from #3, and life has settled into some sort of normal.
Until the day someone kidnaps Meg.
And terror once again returns to Colton & Jillian's lives.
It was fairly obvious from early on who the person wanting retribution was...at least, if you've read the rest of the series it would have been. However there were things about a new character that kept turning up that I wasn't expecting.
The suspense and the pace of the story unfolded well, and it was nice to meet back up with favourite characters from the series.
This is definitely a series that needs to be read in order, and one I highly recommend for fans of Christian Romantic Suspense.
When I saw Lynette Eason did a novella for the Deadly Reunions series I was ecstatic. I absolutely loved that series. I wondered if Lynette would deliver fast-paced writing in a short package. Thankfully, she did. The story follows Colton and Jillian as they rush to find Meg, who's been kidnapped. My emotions were engaged from the very beginning. Added bonus: seeing the rest of the crew from the series. It was like a family reunion, only add in suspense, mystery, and God and you have Retribution.
So instead of doing housework, I downloaded and read this short story from the Deadly Reunion series. It gave away the ending of Book 3 (which I hadn't read yet). but I had no self-control to not read it since it's a quick read ;). It follows up with all of the trilogy's main characters which is always fun for me. It's good but if you don't like spoliers, wait until after you've finished all the books!
This is the first time I've read anything by Lynette Eason. I decided this Ebook short story would be a good way to see if I would like to read more Christian Fiction Suspense novels by this author. Yes, I look forward to choosing a full length novel and enjoying the fast paced suspense.
Umm . . . WOW! I'd forgotten how well Lynette Eason does suspense! I was hooked from the get-go and I'm not entirely sure I took a full breath until the conclusion! It was nice to see the 6 main characters of the previous books in the series working together once again.
I cannot imagine having one of my children kidnapped. To have it happen a second time would be sheer torment. Just thinking about the effect on the child and wondering if I would ever see him or her again would be awful. That is exactly the situation in which Colton and Jillian find themselves. What is going to happen to their daughter, Meg, and who is seeking revenge and for what reason? The story is short, fast-moving, and exciting. The suspense begins on the first page and holds you to the end.
Lynette Eason is a great story teller! This short story jumps right in and doesn't let up until the end. Lynette weaves faith, fear, anger, and suspense into a surprise ending. This book is good as is, but would also be good in an expanded storyline.
I like Lynette Eason pretty well, but this was horrible!!! It was a unnecessary addition to a already decent series, and it ended up just leaving a cheesy impression towards the first three books and the characters from them. It was obvious from the first chapter who the villain was, and ugh, it was just bad. Definitely not her best work.
Great book! It was a good addition to the Deadly Reunions series. It brought back the characters from the first 3 books a few years later. Jillian and Colton’s daughter is now grown into a teenager and is one of the main characters in this book. Loved IT!!
Retribution was a great short story. Characters were described as real as can be. Meg was a fighter. Seem to take after both of her parents. You can feel the love of God in them was true. Lynette Eason is a wonderful writer.
I’m glad that Ms. Eason decided to write a little novella to finish off the series! I am a little upset that it wasn’t longer. I think a few extra pages would have really pulled it together.. It seemed a bit rushed through the whole book.
This is a great final book to Lynette Eason’s series. As a stand alone, it would leave much of the story out. I would highly recommend reading through books 1-3 prior to this one. All of them are well written and suspenseful!
I loved this ending to the trilogy that came before it. It was too quick to end!! I want more stories about this interesting group of people!! Hopefully, there is more in the future!!
I think Lynette Eason is an awesome author, I've enjoyed this series there's murder mystery, love, and faith all in one book. Would recommend Lynette to everyone that likes a great book!!! 😊
