Caught By You is the second book of the Love Between The Bases series. This is Mike and Donna’s book. We see the potential sparks between these two in All of Me the previous book. So it was fun seeing more to their relationship. It starts off with seeing their chemistry and Mike is pretty determined in winning Donna over. But she is keeping a secret from him. Donna is attempting to gain her son back, who was taken from her when he was born. But she has always wanted her son and is trying to change so that she can be a good mother for her son. The last thing she needs is to enter into a sexual affair with the well known catcher of the CatFish team. Her ex and his wife are trying to take her son fully away from her and she is planning on doing whatever it takes to gain back her son. But plans can go awry when she ends up taking Mike’s marriage proposal. Not the most romantic…but practical and if it can work towards getting her son back….she will do it. But then the worst happens and Donna may lose her son if she doesn’t find another way to convince the judge of the truth.

Caught By You was such a wonderful romance and I had a blast with Mike and Donna. This isn’t the most convential romance and I really liked the whole marriage twist. Even though their intentions is to be practical, we also see how much these two care for each other. They haven’t admitted how deep those feelings go…but if they are willing to enter a marriage together, I respect it and I even liked the way the story develops into twist and heartbreaking turns. There is quite a high emotional element that brought tears to my eyes. There is a portion to this story that just about broke my heart but it also creates true depth of character and motivation to do what it takes. These two are simply wonderful together and it was a fun ride seeing Mike and Donna. Caught By You is a charming and engaging story that will make you laugh….shed some tears and make you smile in the end. A BEAUTIFUL LOVE STORY!!

*I received this book in exchange for an HONEST review from Edelweiss.*

This is book two in Jennifer Bernard's Love Between the Bases series. The first book All of Me, introduces you to the town, the characters, and to life with the Kilby Catfish. With this one we get a closer, more in depth look at Mike and Donna and their romance. I will say that while you can read this one without having read book one, I think you feel closer to all the characters if you start with book one, All of Me. Now for Caught By You we have Donna, a woman who is struggling with who she is and who she needs to be. Then you have Mike a baseball player who knows what or rather who he wants and while he's sworn off of Love he can't seem to help how he feels about Donna. I have to say I read this one in one night, I did NOT want to put it down. I do plan to do a reread once the book is out, as I've been honored to read it early.

Fans of Baseball romance will love this whole series and with each book we get a better look at all the players on the Kilby Catfish, the more I read the more I want them all to have their own story! You will quickly fall in love with Mike and cheer him and Donna on. I loved the way the characters interacted and played with each other. I loved the setting, a small town, being from one all my life I can relate. *Honestly their town is bigger than my own!* So I felt right at home.

Caught By You offers readers heat, romance, fun, and several sigh worthy moments. There are times you'll be touched by events, times you'll want to laugh out loud, and times you'll just sigh, but through it all you'll be smiling and eager to turn the page. I highly recommend this one to all fans of Susan Mallery, Jill Shalvis,Sheryl Woods, Robyn Carr,........ You'll be sure to laugh and sigh over Caught By You and be just as eager as me to get your hands on book three......Another winner from Jennifer Bernard! Highly Recommended!

This is the second book in the Love Between the Bases series and I absolutely loved it. Bernard filled the pages with humor and heartache.

One thing I loved about this book was the humor. It seems like for most of the book I couldn't stop laughing at Donna and Mikes interactions. Although these two didn't start out in a relationship you could see they were perfectly matched and understood one another.

This book also was very emotional which I thought balanced out the humor well. You get to see a single mother fighting for custody of her 4 year and the death of Mikes brother. If I wasn't laughing in this book I was tearing up.

Of course in every book you have characters you love and then the ones you can't stand but I love how Bernard made each of them important so that story made sense. I wish this book had more pranks from the guys but Donna made up with it from her hilarious allergies to corn tortillas that made her get turned on, flowers that made her sneeze, chocolate and making Mike watch frozen over and over.

In many sports romance books sometimes authors skip the playing time of the sport the hero plays but not Bernard. In this book the hero actually plays baseball! Yippee!

I am really looking forward to reading more of this series. Although this is only the second book I see many more books in the future and more catfish players falling in love. We got a lot more Trevor in this book so I am hoping his book will be next without Bonita being his heroine.

If you love baseball and hot players as much as I do this is the book for you!

What a wonderful story!!! Mike Solo is the catcher for the Kilby Catfish and Donna MacIntyre, a woman who has always been considered a party girl, come together in this book for a couple of reasons, besides mutual attraction. I don't want to say more and give away any spoilers. I will say that Jennifer Bernard brought out a topic that unfortunately still remains a problem in society today. Hopefully one day we will all be able to accept each other for who we are and no other reason. This story was told with a lot of humor and tears. I very much enjoyed it! In my personal opinion, this is the best book Ms. Bernard has ever written and definitely has taken over as my favorite of all her books.

"Caught by You" is written by Jennifer Bernard, and it is the 2nd book in her Love Between the Bases series. It can be read as a stand-alone book. It features Mike Solo and Donna MacIntyre.

From the get-go, readers will see the attraction and chemistry between Mike and Donna. They were insanely hot. But an incident occurred the previous summer, which stopped Mike and Donna from taking their relationship further.

Fast forward to the new baseball season, Mike is back as the catcher for Kilby Catfish. He once again takes his vow of celibacy for the season, but he might change his mind when he sees Donna. She's different than the last time. New clothes, new job. It throws him off guard. Then, he finds out she has a son.

Without giving too much away since this book hasn't been released yet, I really enjoyed Mike and Donna. They were hot, and it was great to see how supportive they were for one another throughout this story. They needed each other, and fell in love. Jennifer Bernard told a wonderful story! "Caught by You" is definitely a winner!

This book is about Kilby Catfish catcher Mike Solo, who makes a vow of celibacy at the beginning of every season. He quickly runs into Donna, a woman he got into brawl over last season and, suddenly, is having a great amount of difficulty keeping that vow. Donna is a former bad girl who is trying desperately to change her image in order to get full custody of her son that she loves desperately. Unfortunately, she's fighting an uphill battle against some very powerful, easily bought, foes. Mike has a knight in shining armor complex and Donna is petrified of doing anything that could cause her to lose her court battle. This book was a fast-paced, thoroughly enjoyable love story. I believe this is the best book Ms. Bernard has written so far You will love it!

A fun sexy read that will leave you with one word....More!! These Kilby Catfish players have a way of catching your eye and grabbing your heart and Mike Solo definitely does that. He certainly caught Donna McIntyre's eye but he's a complication she can't afford right now. In the fight of her life to get her son back, every step she takes has to be precise and planned. No way does Mike fit into her plan. Too bad he's not willing to accept that and calls for her inner bad girl to come out and play every chance he gets. The cost is too high though.

You definitely want to read this wonderfully written story. I highly recommend it.

I was gifted a copy of this book from Edelweiss.
I am completely addicted to this series. Jennifer Bernard has an ability to write characters that you feel a connection to. The spunky fire and sexy swagger that she brings to her characters is just one of the reasons she is one of my favorite authors.
Mike and Donna definitely have the chemistry. The banter between them is hilarious and downright hot. I enjoy the entire team and I can't wait to see what else she has in the works.

I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher HarperCollins via Edelweiss in exchange for an honest review. The expected publication date is December 29th, 2015.

Bernard is not a new author to me. I read one of her stories in another series quite some time ago and enjoyed it. I thought it was time to read another one of her stories to see if I still felt the same. This one focused around baseball players instead of firefighters.

This story is the second in the series however can be read as a stand alone. I will warn that there are quite a few references to the first story so you may want to read in order. That being said, it did not make this one hard to understand, more so made me curious about what happened in the first story.

What the Jeter?

This story was full of funny moments. Not the least of which was the use of what the Jeter. This sounded like something my friends and I would do and had me in stiches. I also liked that Donna was spunky and a jokester. The way she tried to curb her need to joke and have fun but simply couldn't stem that side of her personality.

Mike himself wasn't so bad. All hot and dreamy and of course as is the case most of the time, the kind of guy every girl dreams off physically and emotionally.

As is also standard in these stories is the hot and heavy scenes between the two. I almost started counting the number of closets the two got in to as it seemed to be a habit of theirs!

Althogether this was a good read. It delivered on the romance and steam all in one. I would recommend to anyone who enjoys this genre.

Random thought: I noticed in this story that the characters had nicknames for each other. He called her Red and she called him Solo. I kept waiting for Cup to be introduced. Anyone have the song in their head now? You are welcome!

It Ain’t Over Until,… Caught by You by Jennifer Bernard
http://fangswandsandfairydust.com/201...

I loved this book, and this series, by my friend Jennifer Bernard. One great thing about her books, and this one especially is that there’s always a story where it is everyday life and love, but in this case it shows how the everyday decisions we might make, or those we might make thoughtlessly, can have a real impact on the lives of others. Another big issue is using others as either an excuse or a ladder.

Jennifer doesn’t use these themes pedantically, rather as I read, I just began thinking about what the actions and dialog in the book really meant. In between my life lessons I got to read about an incredibly hot relationship.

In between, Jenn takes om some really tough and tragic issues – serious weepers. And, she does it well. The plotting is clever; justifying events with commensurate causes.

So, I really loved Mike’s and Donna’s story – two people in crises who manage to work through their issues. They work through the issues through communicating with others and each other! What a surprise!!

An interesting thing in the series is the development of the personality and situations around the team’s owner, Crush Taylor. He is a shaky bedrock but he’s there for his players: a fallible fixture.

Mike Solo is an awesome character: a modern day Jamie Fraser. Mike does the right thing, not the easy thing. He is the loyal type, the family guy, the guy who takes responsibility for his actions and the consequences. Mike loves his brother, but has a tough time with his parents who don’t accept his parents who reject the brother because he is gay. Through MIke’s loyalty and steadfastness, and maybe a few moves in and out of the bedroom, Donna gains the strength she needs.

I really enjoyed this entry in the BETWEEN THE BASES series. And it comes out at midnight!

Caught by You is the second novel in bestselling author Jennifer Bernard's baseball romance series entitled Love Between the Bases. Readers were introduced to both Mike Solo and Donna MacIntyre in the first book and I was glad to see the best friends of the previous book's main characters finally getting their shot at happily-ever-after. My heart went out to both of them, especially since all Donna wanted was to be the best kind of mother to her soon, and Mike simply wanted his brother to be happy and healthy and accepted by everyone else. I shed a tear for these two at a couple of points in the story, but it's not an entirely sad read, especially with the banter Mike and Donna engage in regularly. Caught by You left me with a smile on my face by the end, and I'm looking forward to whatever's up next in the series. Four stars! ♥

I wish I could give this book 3.5 stars. I really liked the characters. And I love the baseball backdrop. But I found the child custody battle to be too distracting to the actual love story. Mike Solo, the Catfish catcher, is infatuated with Donna whom he met at the local bar in the last book. She is fighting her ex-boyfriend for custody of their 4 year-old son. He is engaged to one of the Wades, the local power family who run the town. Donna is fun-loving, tough, and independent. She is willing to sacrifice anything and anyone for her son. So, of course, that included her relationship with Mike. I guess it just felt like she was too much a victim. It was hard to imagine that they even had a chance of finding love. But they did and the HEA was satisfying. I'll definitely continue with the rest of the series.

The perfect way to warm you up on these cold winter days, baseball and Mike and Donna. Mike is the catcher of Kilby Catfish baseball team, who takes on the vow of celibacy at the beginning of each season until he runs into bad girl, trying to become the good girl, Donna. The chemistry is hot between these two. Trying to help Donna out with a child custody . he decides to fake an engagement with Donna, but things things do turn out the way they had planned, other than they have great sex!

You will be laughing out loud at times and have happy tears as you read this story. This is the second story in Love Between the Bases, can be read as a stand alone. I can't wait to see who we read in the next Kilby Catfish book. I received this book from the Edelweiss for a honest review.

I requested this one on a whim.

Donna and Mike are fun characters. They have a lot of chemistry and fun banter. I did enjoy their relationship portion and the baseball side of the story.

I would have loved the book and rated it higher if it had been missing some of the drama. There's just a lot a lot going on in this plot line and with all of the backstory and branches, it felt like a bit too much. Obviously there was need for conflict, but I'm not sure it needed all of the things that were put in.

Overall, a fairly quick read that I mostly enjoyed. Not sure I'll be reading others in the series.

**Huge thanks to Avon Books and Edelweiss for providing the arc in exchange for an honest review**

An entertaining story full of humor but also some serious. It had a good plot with lots of action that moved right along although the vow of celibacy and unfit mother concepts seemed a bit of a stretch for these characters but overall an enjoyable book. Baseball player Mike runs into Donna again, in a library this time, and they act on their attraction to each other.

I liked this book even more than the first in this series despite the classic marry her to help her plot. The characters were really interesting and I found myself thinking about the minor characters as much as the main ones.

Donna MacIntyre has a larger than life personality and has lived her life as many other women her age have. Her personality, however, gets her noticed and she's been saddled with undeserved notoriety. In the previous book she stood up for the heroine against the powerful Wade family and earned their hatred. In this book her life is shaken up when her ex-boyfriend, who is getting married, sues for full custody of their son. The son, Zack, lives with his grandparents, but Donna has frequent visitation. Donna's notoriety is making her custody case look bad so she tries to fly under the radar, but many people just don't like big personalities and it's difficult.

She and Mike Solo have always had chemistry and he offers to marry her to help her out. He's almost too perfect, but Jennifer Bernard keeps him on the right side of the line. His romantic hangup is that the love of his life (from second grade) dumped him when he donated a kidney to his gay brother (she and Mike are from devout Catholic families). Mike was in the Navy, but had to leave it when he gave up his kidney and so he started his baseball career. I thought the description of the ex was a little over the top, but I have known women like her. They weren't ethereally beautiful, but they did inspire an inexplicable desire to protect. I asked my male best friend what the deal was when he felt this way, but he couldn't put his finger on it. It's still a mystery to me and probably was to him.

I'm giving this book five stars despite serious reservations about how female characters were portrayed verses the males. I feel that Donna's ex got a big pass despite supporting his fiancé while she was being viscous during the custody battle. The fiancé is 100% evil. Donna's stepmother is 100% nasty, but her father got a big pass despite not trying to understand Donna when she was devastated by her mother leaving. Yes, Donna did terrible things to her stepmother, but her father was the other adult in the house and had a responsibility to make his new family work.

The writing was very good in Caught By You. During one scene, JB describes a kiss as "As if every kiss in the past had been meaningless, a placeholder for this kiss." Mike's brother's partner explains his feelings on sports: "I'm French. I barely understand the purpose of sports." The judge in the custody case is described as having a "full-body frown". The dialog is characteristic of a JB novel so it's funny and interesting.

All in all a really good book.

"Don't you want to see if there's anything to this chemistry?"
"Here? Are you trying to add public indecency to all those fines?"
"Just a kiss. One kiss. There's nothing indecent about a kiss."

A sassy mother willing to do anything for her child.
A hot and yummy baseball player with a hero complex.
Literary perfection!!

Donna was always known as the wise-cracking, snarky girl that everyone knew about. What not many knew was that she was a mother first and foremost, and would do anything for her son. So when her ex and the new lady (awful woman!!!) in his life threaten to take away said son, Donna knows she has to change her life around to prove she's a great mom. What she didn't expect was to have Mike Solo swoop in and save the day.

Mike is the catcher for the local Kilby Catfish baseball team. He's all focused on getting to the majors, and nothing seems to stand in his way. Until one kiss in a library leaves him hot and needing more. Problem is, she doesn't seem to want him anymore...or maybe she can't. He had to do something to help her-help keep her son. He does the only thing he can think of...proposes.

"I'm impulsive and irresponsible. I'll always be the screwup. And I wouldn't even mind, because it's kind of fun being the screwup, but Zack..."
"Zack what? What does this have to do with Zack?"
"Everything."

This story wasn't just hot and sexy, because believe me...it was!! It also had a lot of humor and a lot of heart.

There were many swoonworthy moments that made my heart flutter, and then there were times when my heart absolutey broke from not only Donna, but Mike.

They each had their own family issues. They had each fought for many years to be the people they were today. They just had to work to tear down the walls they each built up. Trust didn't come easy to either of them, but they were slowly understanding that they might be each other's fate.

"Mike was too good to be true. Too endearing, too appealing, too dream-come-true. But he wasn't a dream come true. He was a mirage. So close, and yet never to be hers. Not really. Not in the way she wanted."

I fell so in love with these characters!! Not only Donna and Mike, but Zack and Mike's brother, Joey (I freaking love him!).

Like I said, this story has heart and soul, heat and passion, love and trust. It was a perfect all around read!

Another awesome book from Jennifer Bernard!!!

"His wisecracking girl had such a soft heart, and it drove everything she did. She leads with her heart, he thought. No wonder she sometimes stumbles into trouble."

Caught by You, by Jennifer Bernard, is the second book in her Love Between the Bases series. The hero is Mike Solo, the catcher for the Kilby Catfish, a triple A baseball team. The heroine is Donna MacIntyre who is battling her ex-boyfriend, Harvey, and his fiancé, Bonita, for custody for her son. We met Mike and Donna in Ms. Bernard’s first book, All of Me where these two also met and flirted, at the Roadhouse bar in Kilby, Texas.

Donna will do anything to gain full custody of her son, Zach including changing jobs, the way she dresses and acts. Due to complications from her pregnancy, Zach was placed with Harvey’s parents and Donna had visitation rights. Enter Bonita who decided she wanted Zach to be with her and Harvey. Bonita uses the Wade influence to stack the trial against Donna.

Enter Mike Solo who only has eyes for Donna. Mike takes a vow of celibacy each season which interferes with his pursuit of Donna. After hearing Donna’s story, he decides to be the hero and help her to gain custody. It didn’t hurt that he became involved after a picture of him kissing Donna was taken by Bonita after stalking them to get evidence of Donna not being competent. Mike decided that they needed to get engaged in order to help her case.

Donna already had a crush on Mike, so this engagement could make her vulnerable. Mike swore he would never fall in love after an ill-fated relationship with his childhood sweetheart. This engagement actually becomes more than just doing the right thing. Mike has discovered a passion that focuses all of his emotions into play and a woman he would go to bat for again and again.

I loved the way Ms. Bernard brought humor and sexy into this story. She also allowed for the growth of the relationship between these two characters as well as learning how to express their emotions and feelings for each other. I also appreciated Mike’s attempt to help Donna out of this difficult situation. He was instrumental in getting a new trial for Donna, bringing in character witness as well as all of the people who love and support Donna in her fight for Zach. I highly recommend this boo, and all others written by Jennifer Bernard to all readers and I cannot wait for the next story in this series.

I received an ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Donna MacIntyre is well known for walking on the wild side and living life on her terms without any regard for what others think of her...that is until her lawyer tells her that it's time for her to put a damper on her wild ways. Her well-to-do ex has decided to fight her for sole custody of their son, and her only hope of having a chance to keep her son is to start walking the straight and narrow, and prove that she can be the responsible mother/adult that her son needs. For the first time in her life she actually has to worry about what others think of her, and live her life according to their terms, which doesn't set well with the gutsy redhead, but she has no other choice... or does she?

After sharing a heated kiss with a beautiful redhead in a library closet, Mike Solo knows he has met his match. She is gutsy, tempting as hell and has him considering the breaking his on season vow of celibacy. But after returning to town, the spicy redhead he left behind has turned herself into a dowdy over dressed secretary, and has Mike more confused than ever. When he approaches her full well expecting to pick up where they left off, she turns tale and flees in the other direction, for fear of damaging her new squeaky clean schoolmarm image.
When Mike learns she her new image and newly found responsible lifestyle is her only plan for getting her son back, Mike decides he has a better plan... marriage!

This was my first experience with Ms. Bernard's work, and I have to say that it left a very good first impression, so much so, I plan to make a return visit to the series very soon! Mike and Donna's touching and funny story captured my attention right from the start and held on tight through their little journey to find their happy ending. If you enjoy small town romance, with hunky baseball players, then this is DEFINITELY the series for you, it is sure to leave you with a happy heart and blushing smile too!!

Calling romance fans... Jennifer Bernard has readers running around the bases as she delivers a home run love story that will definitely set hearts swooning!! Ms. Bernard does not strike out when it comes to delivering a sexy, steamy, and fun romantic read that will definitely have readers like myself caught off guard on how charming small town love can be.

Caught by You is the second book in the Love Between the Bases Series and could be read as a standalone. I was easily smitten and charmed with this delightful read. As a big baseball fan, I love when an author can create a fun romance story but still keep it fresh and sexy with a touch of raw emotions and laughter. This book hit it all in all aspects of entertainment. So if you are looking for a book that was endearing, light, and adorable then I highly recommend you to read this book. All I can say, get ready to fall in love with this book. Don't worry about the fall because Mike Solo will definitely catch you as you fall head over heels in love with him and his relationship with Donna.

This is one of my favorite stories by Jennifer Bernard. She always writes men that you can crush on.
Jennifer Bernard writes amazing contemporary romances that make you feel good inside. Whether it's a hunky fire fighter or a sexy athlete, you know you are in for a good time.
Ballplayer Mike Solo is a one of a kind hero. Right now, he isn't looking for love, but he can't seem to get the sexy Donna MacIntyre out of his mind. So when he has the chance to help her out while she tries to win a custody battle with her ex and his nasty fiance, he finds a reason to get to know her better. Being the white knight he is, he offers her an engagement to help her out which soon snowballs. Donna is a fun, feisty woman, but she is also a woman who loves her small son Zack. She is also trying to make herself and her life better for her boy. While doubting they could ever have a real future, she lets Mike talk her into the wild scheme. And the more they spend time together, the more the sparks bring them closer together.
The story has a lot of emotional depth as well. Mike has a great relationship with his brother that will touch your heart and Donna discovers she has more friends than she thought who want her to win back her son against the original stacked deck she was dealt. Ms Bernard writes a fun story with humor and a lot of heart. What a wonderful series!

Having read and enjoyed Bernard's firefighter series, I was eager to try out this series. I haven't yet read the first book in the series but after reading this one I think it might just be my next read! Donna and Mike are a fantastic pair. She is quirky and funny while Mike definitely has a hero complex. So when he hears the difficulties that Donna is having regaining custody of her son, he swoops in and offers a marriage proposal. Not that he'll admit to having actual feelings for Donna, just a serious attraction and a desire to fix things. Donna might feel differently but there is no way she'll admit anything. For most of the book I was laughing at their antics, while other times were very emotional but I don't want to give anything away. Overall I highly recommend this book and can't wait for more. But I really hope if the next book features Trevor it is a completely different woman!!!!!

I ended up skimming through this book. There was far too much happening and it become over the top dramatic, making it too difficult to buy into any relationship development between Donna and Mike. There was the the custody issues, Mike's ex-girlfriend, his brother's health issues, the drama with the Wades, a fake engagement, just to name a few of the plot lines. Perhaps my least favourite, was the storyline with the Yaz. He had to be the most unlikable and useless secondary character I've read recently. Zack was also not very likeable, and I didn't enjoy any of the scenes with him present. Most of these plots felt unsuccessfully dealt with, perhaps because there was so much happening it was impossible to give all the plot lines adequate page time. I will read Trevor's book because he was the best thing about this book but this series isn't going on my keeper shelf.

This is the 2nd book in the Love between Bases Series.
Kilby Catfish Mike Solo comes gets into a bar brawl over local girl Donna McIntyre. At the beginning of every season Mike takes a "Vow of Celibacy" but he can't seem to get the fiery red head out of his head add in an intimate moment in the supply closet of the library and Mike has difficulty keeping his "Vow".
Donna is trying to clean up her "bad girl" image so she can get full custody of her son and its an uphill struggle as she is dealing with very powerful influential people.
It is one hell of a story about two amazing characters, its full of humour and chemistry and just the right amount of emotion.

*I received this book in exchange for an HONEST review from Edelweiss. *

Caught by You is a sure homerun hit in the Love Between the Bases series. I for one can't wait to see what Jennifer Bernard has in store for those Catfish fans.

I laughed. I cried. I swooned. Loving this series. Mike and Donna were perfectly imperfect for each other!
