A nice little chronologically arranged taste of the development through history of the Christian faith community. We are glad we added this to our homeschool reading.
I thought this book was a very good quick overview on the history of the church from 33AD-1950's. It felt like a history book on fast forward and raised a lot of logistics questions for me to research outside of the book. I also enjoyed how it revealed the good and the ugly of each denomination, though I think it could have gone deeper into the ugly. I would definitely recommend this book as an introduction to church history.
What a fun little book to read aloud with the family. This short but rich overview of Church history was well written and easy to follow. It is not intensely scholastic but an adult could still certainly read it and gain from it. I plan to include this book in my family’s annual read-aloud list - it’s a perfect addition to Reformation month devotional/family worship time.
This was a read aloud and was succinct and excellently written. It covered church history from the time of Christ to just after WW2. I have read church history books in college and I know that they can get a bit tedious, but this was actually very interesting. I would highly recommend it, although it's out of print and not easily accessible. I heard this mentioned on the Memoria Press podcast.
