Evelyne Duskwood thought awakening her wolf would be the hardest thing she ever survived.
She was wrong.
With Kaldrek at her side, Evelyne begins the journey back to Caltheris, hoping to find peace in the life they fought so desperately to claim. But the road home is colder than expected, and something unseen walks with them through the mountain passes. A hidden corruption takes root among their companions, blood magic spreads beneath the soil, and the monsters hunting them are no longer scattered shadows. They are an army.
As the danger beneath Caltheris reveals itself, Evelyne is forced into the darkness below, where bloodroot veins and buried tunnels threaten everything she loves. Kaldrek, terrified of losing his mate, becomes reckless in his need to protect her.
Now Evelyne must stand against the one person she cannot bear to lose.
With wolves, witches, and the mysterious Sunweavers gathering for a final reckoning, Caltheris becomes the battleground for a war hidden behind noble titles and glittering ballrooms. To save the land, Evelyne must embrace the alpha within her, Cillian must accept the light he was born to carry, and Kaldrek must be brought back before the darkness claims him forever.
I’m a proud mother of three beautiful children who are my entire world and the reason behind everything I do. I’ve been lucky enough to share my life with my high school sweetheart, my husband, who has been the love of my life since I was sixteen. By day, I work full-time in the field of Health Information Management. By night, I’m an avid fantasy romance reader who never quite expected to become a writer. I didn’t set out to publish a book; I just wanted to put my thoughts into a story. But as the characters and world came to life, I realized there are readers out there who love this genre just as much as I do and might find joy in the journey I’ve created. So why dive into writing? Because sometimes we all need a place to escape. And my escape includes a fictional universe full of magical creatures, fierce heroines, and romance.

A Sunveiled Ascent picked up right where the first book left off, and Evelyne had A LOT to come to terms with. She’s a wolf, Kaldrek is her mate, her brother is a Sun Weaver, and something dark has burrowed into Alaric. 😳 And while she’s trying to process all of that, she desperately needs to get home to make sure her family is safe from the Noskari. I absolutely loved the multi-POV in this book. It gave us so much more insight into the characters and made the story feel bigger and wilder than the first book, while still keeping that fun Bridgerton-esque regency atmosphere woven throughout. That combination was SO good. And Holden and Aurelia?! 😂 Their banter had me giggling and kicking my feet while they tiptoed around what they both very obviously knew was happening. I needed more of them! I really enjoyed the direction this story took and loved seeing everything come together by the end. We got a happy ending for everyone, which was honestly lovely… but maybe I’ve read too many romantasies because I needed just a little more emotional damage. 😂 Give me the heartbreak. Make me suffer. Then give me my happy ending. Overall, I really enjoyed this sequel and the expansion of the world and characters. It was wilder, more layered, and still had that regency charm that made the series so fun to read. 4 ⭐️ because apparently I require emotional devastation before I can hand out that fifth star. 😂
Thank you so much to Haley for the eARC and opportunity to read the ending to this beautiful duology.

📚 second book in a now completed duology.
🐺 Wolf shifters.
If you love the timeless themes of light conquers darkness, hard fought HEAs, and never giving up on those we love then you will devour A Sunwoven Ascent!
The characters really come into their own. We see so much growth from everyone and we get so many new characters. I loved them all. The romance is beautiful and grows with the story. It never feels forced. The banter between characters had be laughing out loud.
The stakes were high and there were so many set backs and obstacles but the tenacity of these characters really shined. This was a perfect conclusion to the duology. I loved the world and time period so much. I hope the author writes more books in a similar setting!
Thank you to the author for the ARC! These opinions are my own and I was not compensated in any way.
6⭐️ This book was everything I hoped it would be and more. It was the perfect conclusion to this duology, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better ending. Every piece of the story came together so beautifully. The plot kept me completely invested, the romance had my heart from beginning to end, and seeing these characters finally get the happy ending they fought so hard for felt incredibly rewarding. They truly earned every bit of it. After finishing the first book, I was counting down the days until I could return to this world, and this sequel exceeded all of my expectations. It made me laugh, broke my heart, had me holding my breath, and left me completely satisfied by the final page. I’m so grateful I had the opportunity to read this duology as an ARC reader because stories like this are exactly why I love reading. They remind me why I fell in love with books in the first place. Thank you for taking us on such an unforgettable journey and for creating characters I’ll be thinking about long after turning the last page. This is a duology I’ll be recommending to everyone.
A Sunwoven Ascent picks up immediately after the significant battle in book one, only to make it very clear that was merely the beginning of something much bigger.
The shadow and sun weaver magic, wolf shifters, and hybrids caught with one foot in each world make this story so incredibly immersive. The world-building and character development are deeply rooted by this point, and I was emotionally attached to some while developing a visceral hatred for others.
I read this on my Kindle while knowing I’m going to need a trophy copy for my bookshelf. I could absolutely see myself rereading this series and I will be keeping an eye out for whatever Haley Opet writes next.
I can no longer deny that I have a thing for wolf shifters. At this rate, I should probably just accept it.
It was so good that this started right when the first book ended. It meant that all the care and focus I'd had was able to carry over and the worldbuilding was effortless. The journey covered so much familiar ground that we were able to stay with the characters more and explore those relationships.
I thought this was a great ending to the duology but the only thing that made it not 5 stars for me was that I felt the pacing was just a little slow. I didn't feel the same urgency as I did in book one but it was a satisfying final battle. I think it could have been maybe 100 pages shorter but it was a fun read and solid duology.
I wish this app would let you add half stars! 3.5/5.
The vibe was a bit different this book and I think I preferred it as the stakes felt a bit higher and I felt more invested in the characters survival. It was interesting to see how the characters reacted to daily life in a world so unlike what they were used to.
Wow what a way to finish this series. It was action packed from the very beginning and there was not a moment of rest. The super of what was coming next kept me on the edge of my seat. I especially loved Aurelia’s story and how during the darkest times of the book the author was able to Bring some humor and levity to the story. She ended the characters story beautifully and I loved it!
Absolutely devoured this book. It was the perfect conclusion to the duology and left me feeling immensely satisfied.
The stakes remain incredibly high, with danger lurking around every corner, but the group never gives up. Watching them grow stronger as they learn to trust and coexist with one another was one of my favourite aspects of the story. Each character develops and evolves in meaningful ways, and the new additions to the cast both challenge and strengthen the dynamic of the existing group.
The action never lets up. Every time I thought things were finally going according to plan, another obstacle or setback was thrown in their way, keeping the tension high from beginning to end.
The spice is more subdued in this instalment, but the romance is beautifully written, feeling raw, authentic, and deeply emotional. It complements the plot perfectly, enhancing the story without ever overshadowing it.
The banter between the characters had me laughing out loud, while the quieter, more tender moments tugged at my heartstrings. By the time I reached the ending, everything felt hard-earned, satisfying, and exactly as it should have been.
A bloodveiled descent had me hooked chapter 1. Could not wait for a sunwoven Ascent to be released and was again pleasantly surprised. Wolf shifters and magic, tons of plot twists and turns. Loved it!
This book was absolutely excellent! It was very hard to put down once I started it. I had to know what would happen next! I got so into the book that I laughed and cried and made faces as I went along. I highly recommend this and look forward to more from the author!
