In book five of the Dragons of In the middle of the rescue operation for the kidnapped Dragonose women and children, no one was more surprised than King Thoran himself when he discovered fate had gifted him with a second mate. Nor did he expect the anger she directed toward him.

Now back home, his castle is full to bursting with a make shift hospital, crying babies, scared women, and a pissed off mate.

Carmen refuses to allow for one second of sympathy toward the king. Though he and his warriors did come save them, it had taken them bloody long enough, leaving her to blame him and his kingdom for the suffering they each had endured from the Raptorians. Not buying his excuse of ‘he didn’t know’. She refuses to let her guard down, keeping her cloak of anger pulled tight around her in order to cover up the real problem.

King Thoran soon finds there is much more going on with his mate-to-be and when the truth comes out, he is left rushing against time to save her. His kingdom has already witnessed the loss of one queen years ago, to suffer losing a second, inconceivable.

The Dragonose medical technology is put to the test as they rush against time to try and save Carmen. Will they be able to? And will she be able to look past her anger to see the real man fate has deemed as her mate? Or will King Thoran, who was given a second chance at happiness, suffer through the loss of yet another mate, leaving him wondering if the fates could be so cruel.

I am a retired military wife and homeschool mom. I started writing about three years ago at my daughter's urging, but it took me until mid-2013 to get my nerve up and try to get published. It has been a whirlwind ride since then, but one that I don't plan to stop any time soon!

I have liked King Thoran from the beginning. He is a strong King and proves this when he saves many woman and children from the Raptorians. Among the saved is Carmen. She too as been held and expieremented on by the Raptorians. When she meets King Thoran she hates him believing he knew about them and did nothing and on top of that she is his mate. King Thoran is so happy that fate has given him a second chance to have love again. They both have obstacles to overcome but it is a great journey the authors take you on to their discovery in their love for one another and the twist with someone trying to hurt her is a great addition to the story. Can't wait to read what comes next. A great book and fabulous addition to the series.

Book 5 in this amazing series. It is getting better and better. In this story we get the insight of King Thoran and his life. After saving women and children from Reptorians his life has been turned upside down. Especially because one of the kidnapped women is his own mate. But she blames him for what happened. Thoran needs to work hard to convince her to give them a chance.
I really enjoyed seeing Carmen to grow back into the confident woman who she once was. Thoran is so patient with her and shows his caring and loving side. Really liked their interaction. And obviously the dragons are so funny and witty and such amazing characters.

I really enjoyed this story. Loved the storyline and the characters, especially the characters. I did however find at times it was a bit repetitive with certain words!
