R. Broviak

R. Broviak writes psychological thrillers that explore deception, identity, and the hidden truths within marriage, family, and close relationships.

Originally from northern Minnesota, she spent several years living in the Seattle area, where the misty landscapes and quiet neighborhoods of Snohomish County inspired the setting for her debut novel, Duplicitous.

Before turning to fiction, she built a career as a professional writer, working in publishing and later in content design for companies including Meta, TikTok, and Thumbtack. Her background in psychology and human behavior continues to shape the morally complex characters and emotional tension in her novels.

She now lives in the Minneapolis area with her husband, two teenagers, and a Boston–Pug mix named Frankie, where she's at work on her next psychological thriller.

A perfect cozy mystery vibe with a kitschy, charming point of view that made me smile from beginning to end.

The character development was exceptional. I loved unraveling each character’s origin story and discovering the motivations behind their choices and personalities. It made everyone feel authentic and memorable.

The writing is delightfully tongue in cheek, adding just the right amount of humor to every scene. And that twist? 👌

Couldn't put it down!

A fascinating mystery that grabs you from the very beginning. You may think you know what's happening, but the twists and turns keep you guessing all the way through, right up to the rollicking climax. The prose style is wonderfully descriptive but not too florid --perfect!

Honestly didn't know what to expect. This book was recommended by a friend, and I'm glad it was. Couldn't put it down. I can usually tell where the plot in a book like this is going even before the twists, but this one had me all the way 'til the end. Very well done debut, and I'm hoping for more in the future.

A fast and fun read. The structure of this book was so creative, and allowed for strong, suspicious, and often humorous character development. The writing is vivid with good plot twists, like watching a true crime drama unfold in your mind. A nice binge read on vacation or over a weekend.

Wonderful debut thriller. Each character was thoughtfully written. The nonlinear timeliness and multiple perspectives kept the story interesting and kept me guessing.
