"BLAISE: Doppelganger-3000" is the story of Poppaea and Blaise.

Hot hot hot hot hot- and so good!

A super sexy yet angsty tale set in a post apocalyptic world, where the hero is a ex gladiator, who was saved by the heroine- his master's timid daughter. Years have passed, and now he is a battle-scarred ex-slave ex-gladiator planning to escape Nova-Byzan. He is contacted by the lecherous owner of the droid brothel notoriously named Pleasure Palace- to pretend to be the famous "The Doppelganger-3000"- a request made by the heroine- in exchange for some money. The hero is intrigued, yet reluctant, and eventually agrees to meet his old curvaceous mistress.

The heroine has spent years undoing her father's evil deeds, and is finally using the last of her savings to give herself one last glimpse into happiness- and spending a night with a clone of the man she always wanted..

Then what happens? They bang like super freaky bunnies, some deception ensues, realizations are made, followed by kidnapping, more sex and HEA.

Passionate and angsty- VERY enjoyable!

Poppaea and Blaise the ex-slave.
A very quick but satisfying read. More sexy times than other books by this author, it could probably be called an erotic romance. VERY erotic!
Poppaea has crushed on Blaise for years but with no hope of him returning her affections. As the daughter of the man who enslaved him, he has only ever shown her hatred.
Now that her dad is dead, and she has freed all the slaves, she wants one last indulgence. If she can't have Blaise she can order a copy made by a sexual fantasty company that specializes in building doppelganger's of anyone you wish.
But they don't actually do that. They contact Blaise and offer him a lot of money to 'pretend' to be her fantasy android of himself.
It's cute and ridiculously improbable but was also sweetly romantic.
The ending got a bit schmaltzy and Blaise kinda changed character a bit too abruptly, but it was only 60 pages.

For URR Reading Challenge "Erotic" category.
Not nearly the depth of character as Coldbreath's Baseborn Bridegroom book, but perfectly adequate for this challenge. Novella.

I can't believe that this managed to hit one of my major kinks perfectly for a short story. I've been searching forever for stories that have a shy, kindhearted heroine that's an unwilling owner of the hero, who is a slave. And then they have this crazy chemistry and tension together, with the hero having conflicting feelings of hating how the heroine has more power over him, but wanting her. Then the hero taking his "revenge" and claiming her as soon as he has more power over her. It's an oddly specific plotline I love so badly, but almost never see. The only other story I've seen this in is a Korean manhwa, "The Princess Imprints A Traitor." So I was really thrilled that this little story had it!

The story is set in a futuristic world with robots and spacecraft. The hero, Blaise, used to be a slave owned by the heroine's father. He was used as a gladiator to fight in tournaments (as well as occasional male prostitution). The heroine, Poppaea, is a shy and meek girl, who does what she can to help the slaves, but cannot outwardly disobey her father. She has a crush on Blaise, and Blaise has always been very attracted to her, but he is conflicted because he hates her father and is resentful of their status differences. Eventually Poppaea's father dies, and Blaise and the rest of the slaves are freed by her. Blaise later receives a request from a famous futuristic pleasure house, offering him a huge amount of money to pretend to be a sex droid that looks like him. It's a request made by the shy Poppaea, who wants to fulfill her wish of doing the dirty with him by doing it with a robot lookalike. It's a last hurrah for her, before she leaves the area forever. Blaise is veeerryyy excited to do this, although he at first pretends it's just for the money 😂. Turns out that just doing it once gets him hooked, and he's the one begging to see her again. I laughed hard at how pissed off he was when she didn't call for him again, and he went crazy trying to get another meeting with her.

Cue tons of scorching hot sex scenes and smut. They go at it like bunnies! The heroine keeps trying to put a stop to it and push away, but the hero will NOT have it! He goes full crazy possessive and stalker, eventually kidnapping her and secretly getting them officially married without her even knowing. Luckily, the heroine is actually happy about it, so all is well.

Safety:
* Heroine is a virgin
* Hero is NOT a virgin, he got paid to sleep with women while he was a slave gladiator (he was rough and didn't care about their pleasure, resulting in it mostly being one and done deals), and while he was free and before seeing the heroine again, he would sleep with other prostitutes (again, no feelings involved)
* After getting together the hero is completely devoted to the heroine

A spicy hectic story!
Set in a futuristic space travelling society with old Roman traditions of ruling classes, gladiators, and naming conventions.
Dewy eyed fmc lives out her crush by commissioning a pleasure droid of the gladiator she always crushed on.
It's interesting to read this book for the look at Alice Coldbreath early work. Many of the things which make her currently available romances tender and touching have their inception in here.
The brutish mmc softened by the fmc and a union of the heart after union of the body.
In spite of the short nature of the book it was great and spicy perfection.

I love this book! The heroine was very sweet and gentle and I loved how she saved the hero. The hero was also so dreamy and in control. I wish there would be more books with the prisoner or tortured hero + heroine who has a crush on him dynamic but then he gets out and their dynamic completely turns around! Sooo goood!

Novella. Maybe 3.5 stars.

Short and smutty story. It needs a bit of editing for errors. Other than that, it wasn’t a bad little story - as long as you don’t mind a rude, crude and dominating hero.

Short story

Enjoyed idea and beginning of book. It fell apart for me around the middle as the secret was revealed. Would probably try reading another from this author.

Blaise needed more story for me...

I'm not sure if I could have enjoyed Blaise AT ALL if I hadn't read
Ms.Coldbreath's book " The Bastard Bridegroom" , 1st in it the H Mason is soo similar to Blaise they almost sounded like the same character in a lot of ways ...... Looking back, I see Blaise as a long distance runner as far as a story goes, characters like Blaise need a longer story to fully develop their character,to be able to see all their different layers and give them the chance to grow and come into a better version of themselves,a short story like this is more of a sprint and it needs characters to come to the race ready as who they need to be because there isn't the time allowed to change in grow, not not like this, especially when there is gonna be as much sex as there was here.... I liked Poppaea a good bit but she seemed set as who she needed to be ( pretty much) she just needed to know the man she'd loved and adored all this time could love her as well and gain a little confidence about herself...
Honestly I like this,it just needed more room to grow to me,like putting a 6ft man on a 4 1/2 ft. Bed ,there was more that needed to be said and done than the confines of this story allowed, between all the sex and the shortness of the story it was just a bit too rushed in what could have been soo soo much better... I'll keep it and look forward to rereading again some day but Blaise needed to to grow or run and we all needed more story to balance out the sex...

Erotica with a zany premise: FMC hires a super realistic sex droid that is a copy of her evil father’s ex-slave gladiator (the MMC)… only it’s a total scam because the only way for the droid to be that realistic is for the real person to be impersonating the sex droid. That’s pretty much the whole plot. I had a good time reading this.
