His To Reap
Not yet published
Expected 29 Oct 26What happens after you die? No one really knows. I certainly didn’t—until I was offered a job as a Reaper, tasked with guiding souls to the afterlife in exchange for a chance at eternity in Paradise. It seemed like a simple deal.
I never expected that Reaping the dead would lead me to feel even further removed from humanity—my own personal brand of Hell.
That was until I met Sadie Lancaster and my cold, dead heart felt something again. She was everything I wasn't. Everything good. And I knew that I needed to be around her.
But then her name appears on my Reaper list as the next to die, and I have to make a choice. Do I save the woman I'm falling in love with, even if it disrupts the balance of the world and earns me a first-class ticket to Hell?
His To Reap is a paranormal romance for readers 18+ with an unconventional happily ever after.

Review of advance copy
Good lord this was such a rollercoaster. So much heartbreaking death, but so much fun and joy sprinkled too.
Absolutely check the trigger warnings in this one, because some of it is so sad.
I spent the whole book wondering how Bec was going to give us a happy ending with everything that was happening, but she didn’t let me down.
Despite the painful bits, this was really an easy to read story, light on plot, but in a way that made it quick and enjoyable, with enough good stuff to keep me smiling throughout.

Excellent book!! Tristan is a likable dropkick. He's awkward but so sweet with Sadie. Sadie is lonely and secluded, but she's not annoying about it. Nan is who I want to be when I'm old, minus the dementia. The spice is descriptive, and seasons the story rather than becoming the story. Definitely NOT a slowburn. I really enjoyed this book and the dual perspective. It's a quick read and a roller coaster of emotions. I cried at the start as one of the reapings hit close to home.

From start to finish, I was hooked. The author has created characters that I just loved.
This was an easy read, as is the author's style.
Love story about a Grim Reaper? Yes please!

Omg did I love this book!!! the premise is fantastic but the execution is amazing!!! this book does not shy away from the brutality of death, so please if you have triggers check the list.
what happens after death? What if you aren't good enough to go to paradise, but have the chance to redeem yourself?
Would you take it? Even if it meant reaping souls for how ever long it took? sounds amazing right!?!
Tristan was a party animal in life, and after his death he was given the chance to redeem himself but he hated reaping souls. one day on the job a kind man asked if he could see a friend and that's when Tristan saw her!!
Sadie with a soul of gold had been burnt by so many people that she rarely gave anyone the chance, so when she met the beautiful kind man she said why not! Of course didn't know that he was hiding in hell of a secret!!

This story combined grief, trauma, love, new beginnings, and the importance of family all together to create such a beautiful romance.
I cried so much (at least 3 times) but it was in such a cathartic way. In a book about a Grim Reaper falling in love, I would be disappointed if there wasn't some hard hitting scenes that deal with the ugly truth of grieving loved ones.
Sadie was super relatable and funny, while Tristan was such a green flag. Such great book boyfriend material!!
The ending was exactly what I hoped for, but not in a way I saw coming. Bec has once again delivered such a fantastic story and characters that I have absolutely fallen in love with.

*this was an ARC read*
But as always, this is my honest feedback & commentary.
Firstly, I’m so thankful to Bec that I got to get my hands on an advanced copy! I knew instantly upon seeing one TikTok of her promoting this book that I NEEDED to get my grubby little paws on it, and the wait was worth it 😭
I ate this book up, and if I didn’t have adult tasks to do, I would have completed this in a day. I could not put it down, I needed to know what was going to happen next and was literally hooked on this book from the second paragraph in the first chapter.
Now, considering my guy Tristan is a grim reaper, the death that hurt the most was at the very end of chapter 25, Nora, and all I’ll say is that Tristan’s reaction was how I was internally reacting while sobbing on my couch at 10:30 at night. And then there was chapter 26, all of it. I’m starting to tear up just thinking about it.. but I felt it when my girl said “you left me.” 😭 and I can’t forget “time of death, 10:11”… the physical reaction I had to this quote was videoed and sent to my BookTok bestie because I was not okay and needed to share my trauma immediately 🫣
Small character review with minimal spoilers;
Tristan was a selfish asshole. Lived life to the fullest, and indulged a little to hard… But, he’s also funny, and trying his best to be a “better him” when he becomes captivated with the most beautiful woman he’s ever seen; and he falls hard & fast for Sadie.
Sadie is the complete opposite! She’s nice to everyone, incredibly kind/caring and would probably be described as giving “girl next door” vibes. She is the lady who can’t say no and has a smile on her face always. Her “worst” trait is pretending to be on the phone whenever she has to walk past salespeople in the mall (but honestly, who can blame her?). Sadie also falls hard and fast.
So what’s the catch, unfortunately only one of them is actually alive 🤭
And finally, I just wanted to mention; don’t forget to check trigger warnings (aka the menu), as there are multiple deaths throughout the book and some of these parts may be hard for some readers. There is also some spicey scenes, including someone coming in there pants 🤣

Thank you Bec Eden so much for the opportunity.
His To Reap by Bec Eden
HOLY SHIT!! EMOTIONAL DAMAGE!!
This book, where to begin?
From the first page, I knew this book would be amazing. I mean take this quote "I didn’t expect to feel the life leave my body to a Taylor Swift song, but it’s fitting for my shit show of an existence. I lay there in a pool of warm blood, unable to move, shards of glass severing my veins. And to complete the torture, fucking Taylor telling me to just “shake it off.” 😂 I laughed so hard at that.
Tristan dies, alone. He has the opportunity to make a better man of himself in the afterlife. So he chooses to be a Grim Reaper, being the transition guide to crossover when someone dies. 8 years pass of reaping souls, and Tristan finally meets Sadie, at the nursing home she works at, when he's there to help one soul crossover. Thus, starts a beautiful chain of events of Tristan and Sadie's love story.
"Would it kill them to give me a little break before I have to zip around to the next person? Oh, wait, they’re already dead" 😂 dark humour, I love it.
Okay so, the amount of hideous sobbing I did through this entire book. I am emotionally damaged. This beautiful unconventional love story made me feel every emotion soo deeply. It's been such a long time since a book has made me feel so much and cry big ugly fat tears.
The passion between Sadie and Tristan " —at least a stalker would be obsessed with me. That’s hot, right?" And "I’d give up eternity in Paradise for this. For her" was just 🤌🏻🤌🏻 *chefs kiss*
Absolutely phenomenal love story. Heartbreaking, beautiful and unconventional. The writing had me gripped from the beginning. Yes it's a short 232 page book, but goddamn does it pack a lot. With Sadie being an aged care worker, surrounded by the elderly and death around the corner, was such a hard relate. Honestly this book deserves more than 5 stars.

I received an advanced reader copy of His to Reap by Bec Eden and I really enjoyed this one!
It was well written, easy to get into, and had exactly the kind of romantic tension I love. It also sent me through a roller coaster of emotions. The chemistry between the characters kept me invested and I loved that his feelings for her felt intense without losing the emotional build-up.
Overall, such an enjoyable read and definitely one for anyone who loves a devoted MMC with serious “I only have eyes for her” energy.
