How does one write an eloquent review about an erotic griffin shifter fantasy?

“There are no female griffins, then?”
His face flushes. “No, my lady. Griffins are always male.”

How perfectly convenient!

Violet is a solitary book reader and griffin researcher. Her sister is a cruel queen with an evil husband. No one knows Violet is an omega. She must escape the palace with only two (sexy) guards for protection.

Yes, it’s a little cheesy. There are plot points simply to move the couples around from scene to scene. However, the story in-between these intimate scenes is done well, even though I wished to know these characters on a deeper level.

Tropes/themes:
Omegaverse
Reverse harem
Omega in hiding
Cinderella-ish
Spanking, growling
Knotting, barbs
Wings, talons
Exhibitionism
No sword crossing
HEA

This is an excellent reading palette cleanser in between heavier stories. Even though this is book 15, works perfectly fine as a standalone.

Griffins y'all, that's what got me! Like I'm so freaking excited and sad at the same time cause we are only getting one book on them. But, I think L.V. Lane does a wonderful job giving us all the information she can. I only wish we can get more. Unfortunately, this is the end of the series so unless she decides to give us a surprise novella and/or a spin-off, this is all we are getting of them.

If you are familiar with this series, you know what you are getting into. AND... if you have stayed with the series to this point, you know what to expect. The initial interaction between Violet, Rafe and Lark was HOT from the get-go. Both Rafe and Lark were hooked even if Violet was oblivious to that fact. And once the griffins are introduced, its pretty much game over (or more like game on) for Violet whether she knows it or not. LOL.

Overall, I enjoyed this book and am saddened its the end of the series. That's the only reason this review took a little longer as I've been trying to prolong the ending by reading it as slow as I can and yet wanting to get to all the HOT & BOTHER parts throughout the story. I would have hoped the ending was a little different but knowing where some of the sisters were in their lives, it's best that Violet was the one who ended the cruel reign of their eldest sister.

Griffin Food is the fifteenth book in the Coveted Prey series written by L.V. Lane.

💜 omegaverse
💜 shifters
💜 royalty
💜 reverse harem
💜 🌶🌶🌶🌶 spicy spice

Violet loves researching things and reading. Her sister is the queen, so she can afford to get lost in her research and not worry about anything else. But, her sister has turned cruel as time has gone giving her other sisters a hard time after they presented as omegas. Now, those sisters have left in order to stay safe. The problem? Violet has now presented as an omega as well. Will she be able to keep it hidden? Will she be safe around her sister? Will she need to also leave for her own safety?

This was a fun addition to this world that has been built. I don’t think you need to read these in order. But I think k you should read them all. If you have read the prior books, there are fun little nods to previous stories sprinkled throughout the book. I liked how each character had a chance to develop and share their history within the storyline. I liked the different twists and turns this book took. I really enjoyed reading it and can’t wait to see what other stories may come out in this series.

What a fun unique read! Thank you for the opportunity to read this ARC.

ARC Review:

I loved how this omegaverse brought in such strong fantasy vibes. There was so much more to the story than just the romance, with plenty of world-building, buildup, and character development.

And with five men in this why choose pairing, we get the chance to really dive into each of them and uncover the hidden sides of their personalities. I loved getting to know them individually while watching their dynamic come together. A unique take on the genre that kept me invested!

- Runaway omega
- Age gap
- Why choose omegaverse
- Unique c*cks
- Bodyguard romance

Well worth the read!

The plot is amazing, takes you on many adventures through lands with capable 😉 companions for our scholarly leading lady to research the griffins she’s dreamed of. Meeting the three remarkable griffins and their human beings is a wild ride as all are so different and remarkable in their own right. The perfect amount of “extra circulars” and beautifully written at that. But an old energy brings the group together and transforms them all anew. Battling their now collective foe and winning brings a beautifully written story to an end. A lovely standalone with many more works of art written by the author already in my TBR.

I loved this spicy book!!

What a ride! This plot takes our scholarly leading lady on the adventure of a lifetime to research the griffins she’s obsessed with. She’s joined by a group of capable 😉 companions, and meeting the three unique griffins and their humans is an unforgettable experience. The chemistry is fantastic, and the 'extracurricular' activities are plentiful and beautifully written. An old energy binds the group together, forcing them to evolve and face a collective enemy. The final battle is epic, and the ending is perfect. A standalone I'd highly recommend, and I'm already adding more of this author's work to my TBR.

Scholarly researcher seeks adventure to save life.

Scholarly researcher who loves old lore and mystical/magical creatures finds herself living within a community of her favorite research topic: Griffins

I think we’d all love to find that the magical and mystical creatures we read about are real and living their best lives somewhere we could adventure to…..dive into Griffin Food and you too can go on this adventure.

Good, but the author's teasers made it seem like there would be a lot of buildup to the "food" part ( with the griffins not with the non-griffins MCs) and like the griffins were different.
One griffin character's POV contained multiple flash backs while the others didn't that weren't really needed. The suspension build up till almost to the end and then got resolved in one and a half chapter.

This book was worth the wait!

I have been looking forward to reading this book since it first showed up on my feed. I like the books by L.V. Lane, and I have to say this was one of their best. I do not know if it is a standalone, or if there will be other books involving Griffins, but I really hope there will be. I highly recommend this book!

Phew this one had it all

So much happened. Great surprise with her betas, finally the sister issue put to rest. Lots of mates. Thankfully even though there was war it was not laboriously dwelled upon.

Love this series

The Prey Series is in the top 3 of my all-time favorite series. L V Lane does not let you down, bringing humor and character building together. Love all of her books, and I have yet to be disappointed.

Really enjoyed it. Had some mental scoldings for the griffin head MMC, but overall not as dark as some in the series.

I this is my favorite OV fantasy series of all time. I have read all the books, several multiple times. Unfortunately, this installment was the least engaging and least entertaining book of them all. It was very disappointing. I wish there were one thing I could point at to determine what makes it so lacking compared to the other books… it was everything really. The heroine was definitely under developed. The plot seemed to circle back on itself multiple times, making half the events obviously repetitive. The spice was shockingly lacking compared to how hot the past books were. But most of all the whole story bent the world building of the other 14 books to suit its own ends. All the rules were thrown out to fit in a neat and boring box. It’s like the author rushed through this book out of obligation and had no real joy or creativity in the writing of it. It was just genre trope fill in the blanks.
