What if you had the chance to change the future, would you take it regardless of the cost? Could you find the strength to overthrow a corrupt government that filled your life, and the lives of countless others, with lies and sadness?
Krissa Channing seemed to be a Headquarters prodigy, on track for a successful pairing and a lifetime of living by government standards. But her destiny was far more than that which was mapped out for her. Upon the discovery of an underground revolution, Krissa is thrown into a world she never knew existed. The devastating losses she has endured have placed her in the position to help lead the movement.
The glittering future offered by the takeover seems to be bright, but how much of the life she once knew is Krissa willing to sacrifice?
What if you had the power to change the world? Would you, even if it meant both you and those you love could die?
The government has been controlling the population, through brainwashing and strict rules, and the time has come for an uprising. Krissa (along with Chance) has seen first-hand the corrupt government’s abuse of power. Krissa knows she must take a stand but becoming a leader was not part of the plan. Can she do it, knowing she will be throwing away her life with Duke and her expectations of her parents, in peril?
Freedom always comes at a cost and the third book in the Torn Love series illustrates that. Stereotypes, diversity and the human right to live are all key themes to this book (and the series). I loved how the author pulls in the reader and doesn’t let go. Questions about standing up for what’s right kept swirling around my head while I was reading.
THE best book in the series! Go now and read it! A brilliant book and one that many in our world need to read.
A beautiful dystopian love story full of hope for the future and inspiring us to find the strength in us all. Not your typical dystopian series, but a love story at it’s core, but also about finding strength in ourselves to fight for what’s right. Although being book 3, this one is less of a love story and more of a story about fighting against a tyrannical controlling government and fighting through loss. Krissa has had more than her fair share of heartbreak, and it has left her broken but determined. Determined to fight for the rights and freedom of all the people who don’t even know the truth of their world. Throughout the book we get to see little pieces of the puzzle that was Braden and what drew him to make the choices that he made. Devastating and beautiful throughout, and leaves you with a feeling of hope and empowerment, that if you believe in yourself and your cause, you can accomplish anything.
**Slight Spoilers Ahead** I know this review is coming directly after I reviewed the previous book. That is because I finished the second book with a "What??" reaction and directly picked up this one. I was not disappointed and enjoyed every page of this book. The characters' development from the first book was amazing. I got to watch Krissa grow from a, sorry to say this but, pathetic teenage girl to an amazingly strong heroine. She stepped up and stayed true to what she thought was right. I love that she didn't follow along with the rebellion every step of the way just because they were the other choice. When Braiden died in the previous book I just knew the series was sunk but now I think Ferguson did the right thing and it was the catalyst for the success of the final book.
