What does the future hold for these two after 10 years apart? Ohhh Brittany Storm, this one is as sweet as can be! You had me at second chance romance tbh. I knew I would be hooked. They get me every single time. And Brittany Storm did such an amazing job at capturing real and honest feelings throughout this book.
I love the dual timeline, it really helped get such a good picture of everything and everyone’s thoughts throughout the years.
The emotion felt so real. The tension was top notch and such a sweet slow burn. It was truly beautiful.
I was rooting for both Farrah and Walker the entire time, literally about to throw my damn kindle. Just had me going really 😂😂
The setting was perfect. I love a small town where everyone knows everyone. I adore Primrose Hill with my whole heart 😍😍
Plus points for a beautiful cover, that’s what drew me in. 😍

I was not expecting to love this one as much as I did! Sports romance is def becoming a fav. I was hooked from the beginning and her writing just flowed so well. I love a good small town romance and the setting on this one was just so good! She blended emotion, chemistry and spice so well.
Walker is a professional baseball player. Farrah is an interior designer and newly divorced with a 2 year old daughter. They’ve been friends since childhood with an undeniable connection. They have years of history with unresolved feelings and miscommunications. After an injury Walker goes back to his hometown where he has to face the woman who broke his heart years ago.
I loved them together so much! Their chemistry and banter was so good. The way he loved her and the connection he had with her daughter had me melting. I’m a sucker for sibling group chats and this one delivers. It brought so much warmth and humor. I’m not a big fan of miscommunication but this was done well.
I def recommend this one! I can’t wait for more of this series! I need Cohen’s story asap! Her writing was giving Laura Pavlov vibes and I was here for it.

Walker & Farrah have been endgame since they were 15 years old, but somewhere along the way they lost theirs. I love a second chance romance as it guarantees angst and longing like no other. Curveball did not disappoint. It is clear from the start their separation was necessary, it gave them Hadley and allowed them to grow and learn what truly mattered. Walker James has demons to face after his injury, least of those demons is his resentment. He blames Farrah for not fighting for them, like many men he failed to see her perspective. No woman wants to play second fiddle in her man’s life and at that point it was clearly baseball or Farrah. Seeing the growth in these two characters is what truly makes this story so special. In the end they both own their roles in the mistakes of the past and they’re able to move past them. Walker’s easy relationship with Hadley was sweet as heck. That little girl had everyone wrapped around her finger, me included. She’s adorable. And the family dynamic with both her family and his created a world full of support and love. Brittany Storm easily transports you into this world and has you emotionally attached to each and every character. If anything tops second chance, it’s brother’s best friend. Bring on Ava & Cohen cuz I am here for it.

Ughhh, Brittany Storm…you really got me with this story. It reminded me why I love small-town romance so much 🥹
I was hooked from the first few pages and honestly could not put this book down. There was just so much emotion woven into Walker and Farrah’s story—years of history, unresolved feelings, missed chances, and two people who never fully let each other go. After an injury sidelines Walker’s baseball career, he returns to Primrose Hill and comes face to face with the woman who still owns such a huge piece of his heart.
Farrah is newly divorced, raising adorable little Hadley, and running the interior design company she built for herself. I loved watching her slowly allow herself to want more again.
And Walker…ugh. He’s tough on the outside, but absolute putty in Farrah’s hands. The way he loves her is so beautiful. The way he is with Hadley and their sweet instant connection completely melted me!! And then to keep things light, his inner monologue had me cackling 😂 Yep, I said cackling.
The sibling banter and family group chat chaos brought so much warmth and humor to the story, and the small town atmosphere felt incredibly cozy and lived-in.
I got serious Elsie Silver and Laura Pavlov vibes from this one—two of my absolute favorite authors—but Brittany still made it feel completely her own. She brought her own warmth and style to the story, and I ate it UP.
Small town romance is one of my favorite genres, but I’m picky…and this one absolutely delivered. The balance of emotion, tension, chemistry, and spice just worked so well for me.
I also really appreciated how delicately the postpartum anxiety rep was handled throughout the story. I loved that the author addressed something that is such a reality for so many women and still not talked about or taken seriously enough.

Curveball is a second chance, forced proximity, sports romance complete with meddling family, an injured athlete, and a single mum. The book also touches on postpartum anxiety in a very relatable way, and seeing that highlighted so casually, yet respectfully, in a book was so refreshing. I LOVED the relationships between siblings in this book - honestly, family goals! The relationship between Farrah and her co-parent was great to see, it felt very healthy and wholesome while still feeling real. The happily ever after was lovely and had me tearing up, and I really enjoyed the dual point of view and timeline. 🥰

This book, on the whole, was really enjoyable, but there were a few minor things that stopped it being a five-star read for me. At one point in the book, I started to dislike Walker. A lot of the problems him and Farrah were experiencing were simply due to miscommunication and him, literally, running away from the issue. This wouldn't have bothered me if it happened once, but after the second time I just found him to be frustrating - at one point 'dinner plans with the boys' took priority over fixing a problem and while this made his character feel very real it also gave him a slight immature fuckboy vibe! There was also something about the way some of Hadley's dialogue was written that felt jarring, and some of the spice scenes made me cringe. HOWEVER, there were so many other parts of the book that were genuinely heartwarming, and Walker did redeem himself in my eyes by the end. 🫣

Walker and Farrah are very much destined to be together, which is evident in their chemistry and familiarity. Initially, I was upset with Farrah for breaking it off with Walker in the first place but as soon as I saw her point of view I did a full 180 and totally agreed with her and actually think it was a very mature and smart choice that she for the both of them. Walker and Hadley's relationship is ADORABLE, and I love Farrah's job, work ethics, and colleagues. The romance and longing behind her business name and his jersey number are perfect, and I'm really glad and grateful that I had the opportunity to read an arc of this book! 💗

There were so many moments while reading Curveball where I wanted to reach into the pages, grab Walker and Farrah by the shoulders, and tell them to just have one honest conversation.
Seriously. One conversation could have saved them years of heartache.
But that's also what made this story feel so real.
Walker James and Farrah King never fell out of love. Instead, they let fear, timing, and assumptions make decisions for them. Walker left to chase the professional baseball career he'd spent his entire life working toward, while Farrah stayed behind, unwilling to lose herself in a future that revolved around someone else's dreams. Neither of them was wrong, and that's what makes their second chance so compelling. There isn't a villain here—just two young people who loved each other deeply but weren't equipped to navigate the crossroads they found themselves at.
Walker was easily my favorite part of the book. Beneath the confidence of a professional athlete is a man forced to confront who he is when baseball may no longer define him. Watching him return home to recover from his injury while facing everything he left behind gave his character so much emotional depth.
Farrah frustrated me more than once, but in a believable way. She's fiercely independent, protective of the life she's built, and understandably cautious after everything she's been through. Even when I wanted to shake her, I could appreciate why she made the choices she did.
And then there's Hadley.
As much as I spent the book wishing Walker and Farrah had found their way back to each other sooner, one realization completely shifted my perspective: if they had, Hadley wouldn't exist. That simple truth added another layer to their story and reminded me that sometimes the life we're grieving is also the path that leads us to the people we can't imagine living without.

Curveball is the second book in the Primrose Hill series and follows a second-chance romance.
Walker and Farrah were high school sweethearts who always imagined a future together, until Walker is unexpectedly drafted by the Austin Aviators baseball team. Faced with a life she never wanted, Farrah lets her insecurities take over and ends their relationship, convinced she isn’t cut out for life in the spotlight.
Nine years later, Walker is back in Primrose Hill while recovering from an injury. Farrah is now divorced, the mother of a two-year-old daughter, and has recently opened her own business. Their paths cross once again, forcing them to confront a past neither of them has truly moved on from.
Farrah is a complex character. There were moments when I completely understood her, and others when I wanted to shake some sense into her. Since she was the one who ended the relationship, watching her finally acknowledge the consequences of her choices, and earn her redemption, was incredibly satisfying. She isn’t a surface-level character. She has flaws, depth, and layers that make her feel real.
Walker, on the other hand, never truly recovered from the breakup. One of my favorite things about him is that the man actually communicates. When Farrah makes a mess of things, he doesn’t simply forgive her and move on, he calls her out and makes her work to rebuild the trust between them. That made the romance feel much more believable.
Once again, I couldn’t put the book down. The pacing is excellent, the romance feels genuine, and I loved being introduced to a whole new set of siblings. One of my favorite details was getting to follow both sibling group chats throughout the story. Watching both families interact added so much humor and chaos to the book, and I found myself looking forward to every text exchange just as much as the romance itself.
I also appreciated that the author doesn’t wait until the epilogue to tease the next couple. Instead, the foundation for future romances is woven naturally throughout the story, making me genuinely excited to continue the series.
Overall, Curveball is an emotional, heartfelt, and beautifully written second-chance romance with believable character growth, fantastic family dynamics, plenty of humor, and a romance that truly earns its happy ending. If you enjoy second-chance romances where forgiveness isn’t easy, redemption has to be earned, and the side characters are just as entertaining as the main couple, this one is absolutely worth picking up.

What I appreciated most about this book is that their breakup never feels shallow or forced. Neither of them was completely wrong, and that emotional realism gives weight to their reunion. So the book... Walker and Farrah are childhood sweethearts who grow apart and this book is a small town, second chance romance! I was hooked from the first few chapters and I absolutely adored it!!
You all know I love a sports romance so when I saw this Baseball book I knew I had to read it. It was my first of Britanny Storm's and let me say it absolutely won't be my last. I loved the small town feel throughout and the tension for Walker between his love for baseball and city/travelling life and the draw he has to his small town home.
In the beginning of the book we are introduced to Walker and Farrah as a college couple and we see their breakup from the get go... the rest of the story follows them 9 years later. Walker is injured a game and is forced back to his home town to rehab where Farrah (divorced single mum) still lives and has built a life for herself - starting her interior design buisness and raising her daughter Hadley. When Walker returns to town we begin to see the downward spiral of Walker and watch him grapple with what is next for him.
With a little help from some friends/ family we start to see the pair come back together - discuss their relationship and try and build some bridges. This obviously doesn't last very long as "friends" due to their history and chemistry (YESSS it is spicy!) and we see them trying to piece their new lives together as a couple - and see how this will work long term!
One thing Brittany does in this book is that she uses flashhbacks so well! The chapters just flow with the story and each flashback supports with the pace of the book - you never felt like these were out of place and were really good in seeing the character development/ thought behind certain actions.
I loved the other characters in this book - you know me I love a groupchat and these family chats are HILARIOUS... Get me in there!!! I also love to see Farrah as a co-parenting mum and how Walker and Hadley grow together!!

This book completely swept me away. Curveball is the second boon in the Primrose Hill series and the first I’ve read from Brittany Storm.
From the very first chapter, I was pulled into a heartfelt story filled with longing, regret, hope, and a love that never truly faded. If you enjoy emotional second-chance romances with small-town charm, this one absolutely delivers.
Walker and Farrah’s journey felt incredibly authentic. Years of history, sacrifices, and unspoken feelings created a romance that was equal parts tender and heartbreaking. Watching them navigate the people they’ve become while confronting the love they left behind had me invested from start to finish. The dual timeline worked beautifully, adding depth to their relationship and making every reunion, memory, and revelation hit even harder.
Farrah was such an easy character to root for. She’s strong, independent, and determined to build the life she wants, even after experiencing heartbreak. I especially loved seeing her relationship with her daughter, Hadley. Their bond brought so much warmth to the story, and Hadley stole every scene she appeared in. Walker’s connection with her was equally adorable and added an extra layer of sweetness to the romance.

This very much felt like if ‘Icebreaker’ was set in South America with slightly less banter but older MCs.
Set near Austin, Farrah and Walker have known each other their entire lives. With their mothers as best friends and a childhood of circling each other, it was no surprise to any of their family when they finally started dating through college. Though no one anticipated their eventual breakdown when Walker goes to play pro baseball.
Fast forward almost a decade and Farrah’s rebuilding her life following her divorce, and finding her footing as a single mother and interior designer business owner. Injured and out for the season, Walker returns home with his tail between his legs and back into Farrah’s orbit.
At first I did have a moment of predicting that maybe the story would be that Farrah fell pregnant with Walker’s child and didn’t want to hold him back from his dreams, so I was really relieved that it doesn’t play out like that at all.
This was a really easy and cosy read but it did cover mainly one sensitive topic that was handled reasonably well without any gory details (I’ll pop it below under the tropes).
Farrah’s finding her new backbone and finally going for the dreams she couldn’t follow before. She’s a really good mum to Hadley and managed to coparent well with her ex Jake.
We have a few chapters which take us back to previous years so we can understand their history, but I definitely feel like the story would have benefitted from the ‘before’ timeline being extended with a few more chapters added so we could see how Farrah’s previous wedding went, and her pregnancy with Hadley.
At times it did feel like important moments and details were skimmed over, which made it easy to breeze through the story but I did notice the lack of connection to the characters and their relationship.

Fast forward almost a decade and Farrah’s rebuilding her life following her divorce, and finding her footing as a single mother and interior designer business owner. Injured and out for the season, Walker returns home with his tail between his legs and back into Farrah’s orbit.
At first I did have a moment of predicting that maybe the story would be that Farrah fell pregnant with Walker’s child and didn’t want to hold him back from his dreams, so I was really relieved that it doesn’t play out like that at all.
This was a really easy and cosy read but it did cover mainly one sensitive topic that was handled reasonably well without any gory details (I’ll pop it below under the tropes).
Farrah’s finding her new backbone and finally going for the dreams she couldn’t follow before. She’s a really good mum to Hadley and managed to coparent well with her ex Jake.
We have a few chapters which take us back to previous years so we can understand their history, but I definitely feel like the story would have benefitted from the ‘before’ timeline being extended with a few more chapters added so we could see how Farrah’s previous wedding went, and her pregnancy with Hadley.
At times it did feel like important moments and details were skimmed over, which made it easy to breeze through the story but I did notice the lack of connection to the characters and their relationship.

The ones that hit you straight in the heart and make you feel every word printed on the page. The kind that linger long after the last page finds you, the ones that call to you every time you have to put it down... and boy was I right. This book completely wrecked me in all the best ways. I was in a reading funk and needed something new and I found everything I was craving between the pages of this book!! It was utterly captivating! It's wonderfully penned words stirred up an addiction I couldn't shake and it left my heart better than it found it!! It was one of the best reads I have settled down with so far this year. If you have the opportunity to read this book I highly encourage you to take a chance on it, it's characters will steal your heart and attention the moment they wander onto the page!! It is SO good!!

If you love baseball, a messy love story, and a country setting this book is for you! I was definitely getting some Elsie Silver and Liz Tomforde vibes but with the way Brittany writes, it’s very unique and full of swoon worth moments. I was instantly hooked by the first few pages and couldn’t put this book down!
I love Farrah and how she stood her ground with what she wanted in her life. Giving up on love can be very hard but she was bound and determined to meet all of her goals. She also knew what her heart could and couldn’t handle with Walker entering the MLB.
Walker was set out to do the same as he didn’t go after Farrah, thus allowing him to enter the MLB and pursue dreams that weren’t apart of his original plan. Letting her go would be one of the hardest things for him to do in life but also provided him with so many once in a lifetime opportunities.
The second chance romance trope is so good in this book. I loved all of the slow burning and pinning moments between Walker and Farrah. Many of the chapters had my heart in a vice! The dual timeline added so much to this story. This troy set up allowed for you to really see how they felt during their time apart, what they accomplished without each other, but you could also feel the heartache and love both of them went through for each other.
I love both Farrah and Walker’s family members and how close they all were with each other. I am a huge sucker for books that are interconnected with close family and friends. There is so much strong banter between all of these characters and it was very enjoyable. And then there was sweet Hadley. She was such an enjoyable two year old. You can tell how loved she is by everyone in the family and especially by Farrah, who is such a good mother. I loved their mother/daughter relationship.

I was completely invested and couldn't put the book down because I *had* to know what was going to happen next. Would they finally have the conversation? What other secrets and feelings were going to come to the surface?
I'm also a huge sucker for a small-town romance, and this one absolutely delivered. The meddling family members, the close-knit neighbors, the familiar coffee shop and bar where everyone knows everyone, you could really feel how connected the community was and how much they genuinely cared about each other.
I also appreciated how Brittany Storm handled the postpartum anxiety representation. It was written with a lot of care and respect, while also giving readers a look into an experience that isn't talked about nearly enough.
If you love second-chance romance, small-town settings, plenty of emotional tension, and a story that will keep you turning pages, I definitely recommend picking this one up! 💕

Get out of the dugout and step up to the plate because this book is one curveball you're going to want to take a swing at this summer!
I loved Curveball by Brittany Storms for a lot of reasons but number one is the vibe I got while reading. It was like my two favorite authors joined forces and wrote a perfect sports/ranch romance. I felt like I was reading both Elsie Silver and Liz Tomforde but I was actually in Primrose Hill, Texas.
We meet our MMC Walker James during a pivotal point in his baseball pitching career. A pitch to hit to injury sidelines our superstar as he gets bad news of a fractured elbow. Knowing he has a trusted physical therapist and can rehab at his farm, he packs up and heads back to Primrose. Who isn't expecting him to show up is our FMC, Farrah King. A successful interior designer in her small town, she's taken aback by our pitcher's reappearance. They each are each others "the one that got away" and we get a great then vs. now POV from Brittany throughout the whole book. The writing flowed really well between both characters from chapter to chapter as we are transported from past to present Walker and Farrah.
Both characters are at a crossroads of where am I going with my career, my relationship, my life, etc but their answers will actually come from a rekindled friendship and it definitely leads to more which made my heart soar. You could feel the electricity ignite of what was with hope for a future of these two. The other characters interwoven between siblings, teammates and friends opens the door for more which I hope Brittany continues!
This book is book 2 in the Primrose Hill series but I easily read it as book one. Once I finished, I immediately downloaded book 1 and I am up to bat for all of Brittany's future reads. She knocked this book out of the park!

This was my very first book by Brittany Storm and the second I opened this book, I was HOOKED. I read this entire story in one sitting in about 4½ hours because I physically could not put it down.
Walker and Farrah’s story is emotional, heartbreaking, beautiful, and so incredibly well written. The journey these two go on absolutely wrecked me in the best way possible. You can feel the weight of the years they spent apart, the hurt caused by choices made out of fear, and the realization that sometimes time is the one thing you can never get back.
What I loved most is that the emotions never felt forced or overly dramatic. Every decision these characters made felt thoughtful and realistic for where they were in life and what they were carrying emotionally. I wasn’t frustrated with them I understood them. Their growth felt natural and earned, which made their journey back to each other even more rewarding.
Brittany Storm did such a phenomenal job with the writing and pacing. I loved how the story seamlessly blended glimpses of the past with the present, slowly unraveling the history between Walker and Farrah while still keeping me completely invested in where they were headed.
And Walker’s relationship with Hadley? Absolutely precious. Watching that bond grow over time added so much heart and tenderness to this story.
This book is emotional, healing, romantic, and full of second chances done RIGHT. It’s about love, regret, timing, growth, and learning that sometimes the people meant for us never truly leave our hearts.
If you love emotional second chance romances with baseball vibes, heartfelt character growth, and characters that feel incredibly real, you need to pick this one up immediately.

This book really showcases how life is tough & sometimes even having your dreams come true, like being the starting pitcher for a Major League Baseball team… life is still full of Curveballs. Watching Walker and Farrah grow throughout the time period was one of my favorite things about this book, their mental health and family support was important for both of them. There were a couple things I struggled with a bit while reading this; for some reason the back and forth from present day to several time periods in the past was annoying for me to follow in the beginning of this book. I don’t always mind that though. This didn’t go on throughout the book just in the beginning when their history is important for character building. The other thing I struggled with is I kept hoping for a stronger connection to Farrah, sadly she mostly just annoyed me for the first 2/3 of the book. By the last part of the book she had grown on me. Walker on the other hand, I instantly liked and was rooting for. I loved all the side characters in this book, the siblings, Cohen, Hadley and even the brief mentions of people in Primrose. The baseball parts were AMAZING!!! I can’t say more without spoiling it but I loved every single second of the game playing. Also the dreams of eachother being a priority. Truly the growth was very well done and showed up really well.

Complicated and realistic

This was a complicated yet very realistic second chance romance between Walker and Farrah. I appreciated that it showed the ups and downs. There was plenty of tension and angst. The love they had in each other’s hearts was very much clear. I was all set for the journey that I was about to go on with them.
Then there was a certain moment/point that really shifted my feelings about their story. I started not to be as gun ho as them reconnecting as I was at the start. It really started to feel very immature and that they were repeating all their past mistakes again. Even though it was realistic, it came off as really unlikable. Their focus felt more about the physical side of their relationship instead of their reconnecting as a couple. There was something missing from their reconciliation that made me not satisfied. That was very disappointing to me that I had that feeling.
I wasn’t the biggest fan of Farrah. I just didn’t really connect with her. Though she had some valid concerns along the way, I thought she handled it in a poor way. It was like she didn’t mature in the nine years that they separated. Some of the things she did to Walker just wasn’t fair at all especially when he proved to be the opposite. She just didn’t do it for me as a heroine.
I loved all the stuff with the family. I loved Walker’s interaction and falling in love with her daughter Hadley. It was really sweet. The family all embraced Hadley like she was one their own. The support was massive. The camaraderie was key. It made for a highlight in the entire story to have those moments shown in the book.

I really enjoyed this book. I loved Walker and Farrah’s character driven story, which moves between past and present timelines to piece together what went wrong between them. You can truly feel their connection and how deeply they loved each other, but choices were made that changed everything. It takes some hard conversations to finally understand where things fell apart.
Farrah is such a beautiful character, especially with her daughter, Hadley. I really felt for her and the difficult decisions she had to make to do what she believed was right. Walker, on the other hand, never stopped loving Farrah but also struggled hard and often felt more confused than anything. The things he did for her without her knowledge melted my heart it was so sweet and when she found out I was swooning. These two are meant to be together. I experienced such a range of emotions while reading, and the spice was intimate and beautifully done. I also loved all the side characters especially family members.
I will say, though, that I found this more lack of communication between them in this and I struggled with some of Farrah’s choices, especially when she made decisions for both of them the second time. My heart really hurt for Walker. I also felt like Ryan’s storyline ended quite abruptly I would have preferred to see how the ending played out.
Overall, this was my first book by Brittany, and I’m looking forward to going back and reading the first book, as well as whatever comes next.

Loved the story, loved the banter, loved all the siblings and teammates. But oh my god, the miscommunication ran rampant in this one!
This was an easy swoony romance with great characters dealing with real problems. It was a quick read that had me laughing and kicking my feet a few times. I also loved getting hints of other characters and their potential future stories. I just really struggled with the miscommunication trope. Every single problem between the MCs in every timeline was either due to withholding information or not communicating clearly. I don't mind the miscommunication trope in a story when it's used sparingly, but at some point here it just became redundant.
I did really enjoy their chemistry and banter, and the way Walker treated Farrah's daughter was the sweetest! I do want to go back and read Walker's sister Addison's story and I'm excited for what comes next in Primrose Hill.

Farrah is now divorced, a single mother, and fully focused on growing her interior design business while raising her daughter. But the moment Walker and Farrah see each other again, it becomes obvious that the chemistry and feelings between them never truly disappeared.
I devoured this book in two days!!!! I was already so intrigued by them after their cameos in book one, and their story did not disappoint me at all. I loved how naturally their second chance romance developed without ever feeling forced. Their chemistry, connection, and love for each other still felt so real. I also understood why Farrah made the decision she did years ago — she simply wasn’t ready at that point in her life. And Walker?! I absolutely loved how quickly he fell for Hadley.
Another thing I loved was the sibling dynamics and family relationships throughout the story. I’m already hoping we get more books about them in the future because I definitely want more from this world.

The most satisfying second chance romance!! I didn’t read the first book, but I just loved all of the siblings and I’m definitely going back to read it!
I loved Walker and Farrah! After a breakup, Walker went off to play MLB and she had her own life, including a little girl and her own company. An injury brought him back to town for much longer than usual. And since their families were so close and it’s a small town, they decided to finally talk.
There was a lot of things that could have been different if they would have just communicated, but they were very self aware that they weren’t the best at that. In the end, it brought Farrah little Hadley, the sweetest little girl. And they found each other in the end and it was so sweet and about time!
All of the little signs. The room in his house, the name of her business. They were meant to find each other again 🥹
Also the mention of postpartum anxiety had me emotional! I went through it and it made me so sad for her and the way her husband at the time handled it. And I couldn’t stand when people would say “ well this couple put their baby alone by this age” why are people in such a rush to separate mom from baby?! She went to therapy and got on medication and found herself again. This could really help a mom one day who is going through the same thing. We need more mental health rep in books 🩷
This was my first by this author and I will def be reading more!
