Will some students ever learn from their mistakes? We hope not! This all-new collection of hilarious, totally wrong, real test answers serves a fresh batch of A+ wit misapplied to F- quiz scores. A little studying would reveal that the most powerful light source known to man isn't "lightsabers," nor do we salt the roads when it snows "to make them taste better." But where's the fun in that? From the same wellspring of failure as the million-selling F in Exams series, this special pop quiz collection will amuse and entertain anyone preparing to face down a test paper as well as those just glad to be far away from a classroom.
but this one had fewer moments that made me laugh. i guess by the fourth book, you're scraping the bottom of the funny-barrel a little. happily, i am easily amused, so there were still some that gave me a giggle.
here are seventeen of them!
i love this series for all the answers that pretty much cannot be deemed incorrect, even if they are not an indication that the person has been paying attention to the course material:
hard to argue with that one.
also, probably true.
also, definitely true.
and with this one, i am hard-pressed to figure out what it's even doing in the book. this seems like a pretty obvious answer to the question:
same with this one:
and some of them just made me laugh because of how goofy they were:
goofy, but frequently also true:
with some, you can practically smell the smoke from the "smoke and mirrors" desperation:
and some you just gotta pass on charm alone:
i enjoyed some of the shakespeare ones, although i don't agree with all the sentiments expressed:
agree.
disagree. poor mercutio.
this is just an example of one i thought was adorable. mostly because of the word "usually."
and sometimes, i can't help but feel the test was asking for it, with questions dressed like that…
i will leave you with this one because, while patently wrong, it is also so so right. and also illustrated.
not as good as the ones that came before, but still worth a few snickers!
Amazing. These real answers to test questions deserve a round of applause. These students might not have known the correct information, but that didn’t stop them from being creative and a little bit gutsy. This installment in the series delivers plenty of laughs. A+
You have to give these students credit for trying. Not knowing the answer didn’t stop them from making something up. And sometimes, it almost makes sense. For instance: In music, if “f” stands for forte, what does “ff” stand for? Eighty. Makes sense, sort of. Laughs abound in this book and you will want to share them with your friends.
... and a fourth in this series, as good as the first three. If I were a teacher, I think I'd look forward to some students' wrong answers more than to the right ones - enough like this would make grading tests something to look forward to. All four of these have been among the funniest things I've read in a long time.
Good for some chuckles. I liked the premise of ridiculous answers and found good wit, but it found myself too distracted if they were genuine or fabricated. Most likely the latter.
Doesn't say this very explicitly, but seems to be claiming these are real test answers students gave, which seems unlikely. Many are [at least to me] amusing, including:
"Explain the dangers of life as a cowboy in the American Midwest"
"A: high risk of being shot by Clint Eastwood"
Lots involve sort of Amelia Bedelia-esque taking things too literally, e.g.
"Jane has raised money at her school by selling cupcakes at lunchtime. Give three other ways that she could raise money"
"A: put the money in stacks. put it on shelves. hold it up high."
very quick read, and to me funnier than those "undergraduate howlers" links that one person in each department forwards all around during final exams, which are usually just stupid clueless statements rather than anything clever.
If you're down, sad, or having a bad day, reading this is a great way to feel hope again. The answers to these questions are so silly, it'll have you laughing out loud, even if you're in public. I don't know if these answers are actual answers to questions teachers have questioned in quizzes, they're probably not, but I can imagine teachers getting these types of answers all the time. It's believable, and somehow makes me want to become a teacher. This book is that enjoyable. Recommend for anyone failing a class and needing to feel better... or for teachers who need something to relate to.
I picked up this book after I read another similar book by this author. I have to say that while it was funny and I did laugh a few times, I thought the other book I read was much funnier. (Like laugh out loud tears running down my face funny). This one was just a little funny. But still a good read!
I think Benson can stop with this series. The first ones were funny, but this one felt like a stretch. He still doesn't identify his sources, and some of these just seem "too clever by half" to be legitimate answers.
Incredibly short with big texts and pictures, badly done e-book : so many questions at the bottom of the page with the answer on the following page. Not that many truly funny answers either. Takes less than half an hour to read.
