Review of advance copy received from NetGalley

I've always loved the stories of the myth of King Arthur and his Knights. As I got older and realized there was a real Arthur from the 5th Century I looked at the stories in a different light. Some of them way to fantastical to hold a grain of truth, and others at least trying to grab for the truth. This story of Arthur, and throughout the series, has held my fascination because of staying closely connected to the roots of Celtic Briton! No knights in shinning armor or side tales of Knights of the Round table, but down and dirty war campaigns between the Britons and Saxons. There are some great characters in the books, like Ethne and her female band of Pict warriors or Syphanx and his Numidian Calvary. There is of course drama and sorrow, making Arthur a fantastic read and a brilliant conclusion to the series.

This is my honest review after reading an ARC from Netgalley and Boldwood Books.
