When Meaghan and Dean first met, the couldn't have been any more different. She was a scholarship student working at a local garage. He's was an entitled rich kid who lived off the bank of mom and pops... Despite that, there was an obvious attraction between the two.
But with Dean having a girlfriend and his parents being unlikely to approve of a poor black girl from the wrong side of town, things never really took off the way Meaghan would've liked.
Fast forward a number of years and their paths cross again, but in less than ideal circumstances. A car crash has left Dean in need of medical attention, and Meaghan just happens to work in the clinic he stumbles into.
With a few years of growing up done by each, will this be the right time for the two to give things a go? Or will all the same issues which stopped them getting together initially still be in play?
Find out in this tale of forbidden love and two very different worlds colliding. A must read.
Warning: Suitable for over 18s only due to sex scenes so hot they'll leave your windows steamed up!
Meghan is too weak. In the intro she is this driven high school student determined to become a surgeon. But she meets the rich boy and she becomes this weakling. Fast forward 10 years, Dean is still this conflicted rich boy and Meghan is still running to her gay friend for boy advice. Is her self worth so low that she would allow Dean's mother and ex to refer to her as a whore and tne help? What kind of CEO of a multinational corporation can't stand up to his mommy? And to top it off the story just ends. I assume there is a part 2. IR writers give your heroines backbone with high self esteem and self worth. Plus do a little more research on the salaries of professionals like registered nurses. I gave the book three stars because it had potential and it was no cost with Unlimited Kindle.
This one was a complete surprise..it's funny, witty, fresh and surprisingly did not go immediately to unquestionable desires did translated into this fairy tale ending....the billionaire riding in to rescue the poor black girl, and miraculously all the problems with race and class disappears. It's very realistic, both characters are very thoughtful about what the next step should be. They give themselves permission to contemplate their future....and the story continues on to the next phase...very smart. I like it.
It's a pretty good read, but the ending left me utterly confused... it literally just stopped. No lead up, nothing. Just stopped.
Meg is a strong character and because she is portrayed this way I was slightly shocked at how much she was willing to deal with from Dean. It was contradictory.
I don't know if a part two is coming... there was no indication. If there is, I'm not sure if I will read it.
Ok so this was a nice read. I get what everybody was saying how it ended. The one thing I dislike about the book was the use of wording. I would like to see where Dean and Meaghan relationship is going, and is he going to stand up to his mother. He's mother was a b**ch!! I have to hand it to Meaghan for keeping her cool. I think I would have slapped the hell out of her.
I enjoyed this book even though at times it would drag . Generally the story was full of surprises . The romance hung in there through some rough situations . They seemed to be a very strong connection between these two from the start . Even though they were dissecting the relationship between them constantly . They both seemed to be a little afraid also .
Was this the end? I loved this story. And I could see an extension of this story in another book. Because this story didn't quite end. It does leave a lot of questions I'd like answered.
It was a good story, Dean was kind of whipped; however, his alpha male wanted to brake through. I liked Bain. The Dean's mother was way too much for me.
