When rancher and sought-after freestyle horse trainer Nick Braden offers an opportunity she can’t refuse, Trixie jumps on it. "What sets Melissa Foster apart are her compelling characters who you care about... desperately...I dare you to read the first chapter and not be hooked." International bestseller, M.J. Rose
"Melissa Foster is a wonderful connector of readers and books, a friend of authors, and a tireless advocate for women. She is the real deal"--Author Jennie Shortridge
"He’d been wrong when he’d thought he’d felt nothing before her. He felt so damn much with Trixie, he realized he had felt something before. He’d felt empty." Oh my... I love when it feels like I'm not just reading a book, but I'm actually part of it. This has been my second Melissa Foster book, and it's nothing short of amazing.
Everyone who's read my reviews knows I'm a fan of friends to lovers. But there are different types of friends to lovers, and this one pushed ALL my buttons.
"'Darlin’, it’s been so long since I’ve seen anything but you, it’s a wonder I’m still sane.'" Nick is a dream. I think I'm in love. I mean, he's broody, he's sexy, he's protective, he's supportive, he loves animals, he's fire in the bedroom (and in the shower, and in the kitchen, and probably anywhere else). And he gives all of himself to the people he loves. I mean... perfect. Nick Braden is perfection.
Trixie... I want to be Trixie. I love that she's not a pushover. I love that she knows what (and who) she wants and she goes for it. I love how strong she is, and how sure she is. She is badass. If you're looking for a weak heroine who needs protection, Trixie Jericho is not for you, believe me.
And the two of them together... Jeez, sparks fly, panties melt, hearts swell... but that's not all. They bring out the best in each other. They are both strong-willed and stubborn, but they have this incredible connection and nothing is going to break it up. They complement each other in every way, and they are together while still being themselves.
"'For the record, darlin’, you’re the only woman who’s ever been on the back of my bike. That should tell you everything you want to know.'" This is a different kind of friends to lovers because you're in their world. You're part of their lives, their families, their friends, their get-togethers. You're so engrossed in the story you can see and you sense what's going to happen like they're your real life friends.
"You’ve seeped into every part of me. You could be on the other side of the world, and you’d still be with me." More than anything, this book made me happy. Like, seriously happy. There was a huge smile on my face at the end of it, because it just felt right. All of it. Their journey through life as friends, the moment something changed for them the first time, and the moment everything changed for sure. Because they belong together. Yes, it's that kind of all-encompassing, boundless love.
Hot For Love was one hell of a journey, and I'm so glad I was there for all of it. #TeamNixie all the way!
I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.I have been eagerly awaiting Nick, and Trixie’s story, and Foster did not disappoint. This is the seventh book in the Bradens and Montgomerys: Pleasant Hill- Oak Fall series. Like all the other books in the series, readers can read it as a standalone. All of her books are inter-connected as we see characters from this series and others playing a role in this book.
Hot for Love was a sweet and passionate friend to lover’s romance. Trixie and Nick have known each for sometime now and she has been crushing on him ever since their first meeting. Nick, however, is clueless as to Trixie’s feelings towards him and this made for some serious moments of jealousy on his part. Also, he feared damaging their friendship and so he suffered in silence.
Trixie Jericho has dreams of operating a miniature horse business. However, her family failed to take her seriously and so she turned to the one person who had always believed in her abilities, Nick Braden. In his desire to help her achieve her dreams, he offers her the use of his ranch, which of course would require her to stay with him for a month. Can Nick survive the month or will he throw caution to wind and take their relationship beyond friendship?
Nick and Trixie worked well together, both as friends and as a couple. I had a great time watching Trixie break down Nick’s walls, brick by brick. She challenged him and pushed him to a better version of himself.
Nick struggles with his feelings for Trixie jumped off the pages. He had given upon the idea of love believing it brought only destruction. However, with Trixie he learns that not only does love not destroy it had the power to heal.
I enjoyed watching how their relationship developed from friends to lovers. Every aspect of their relationship felt authentic, which made it easy to buy into their romance.
Foster provided some interesting information regarding miniature horses and their use as a therapy tool. I found these details quite fascinating.
The bonds of family and friendships featured heavily in the story, which is a signature feature of Foster’s stories. The banter and the moments shared were delightful and riddled with emotions.
I had a wonderful time with this latest offering from Foster and would definitely recommend this and the previous books to fans of contemporary romance. I am looking forward to the next book in the series. This review was originally posted on Totally Addicted to Reading
Hot for Love was the seventh book in the Braden’s & Montgomery’s: Pleasant Hill - Oak Falls series by Melissa Foster. It was also one of the many in the Love in Bloom series.
Trixie Jericho was the lone female of the Jericho siblings; therefore, she was protected by her alpha brothers and not always taken seriously. Her career aspirations aligned with her family legacy; however, she needed to branch out from under her family’s cover to see it grow to its fullest capabilities. Enter Nick.
Nick Braden was a sexy, gruff rancher and horse trainer and had been friends with the Jericho siblings for years. Trixie had always been off limits so they had developed a strong friendship and when she outlined her new business plan, Nick offered her to live and train at his ranch in Pleasant Hill while she prepped for her new adventure.
Hot for Love was a slow burn. They had been friends for a long time so there was a ton of push and pull without any relationship development beyond the friendship. For added depth, Foster included details of daily activities, particularly those related to horses, ranching, and horse training.
I enjoyed the book but it was an easy one to put down and pick up later. It was a good book to read slowly and to fit in between busy life activities. And it will be a bonus to those who love or are interested in ranching and horse training.
All in all, it was an enjoyable read. As expected it was steamy, but it had many sweet and heartfelt moments as well. I enjoyed both characters and Foster demonstrated the strong connection and bond well. It was a total “good feels” book and I can’t wait for more! Amber Montgomery is up next in Sweet, Sexy Heart.
Let me start by saying I am #TEAMNIXIE all the way!
Is there anything better than friends to lovers? Not for me, I absolutely LOVE this trope and Melissa Foster does it so well I consider her the Queen of F2L, and here's why...although we have encountered several friends to lovers stories throughout the Love In Bloom Series they are NEVER THE SAME!
This is Nick Braden and Trixie Jericho's story, they have been friend's for years but over the last year things have changed. Trixie wants to start her own business using miniature horse's as therapy animals, her brothers think it's a joke but Nick is the one that believes in her so she is determined to give it a go and he is there to help her.
What neither expected was the sparks to fly, well that's not exactly true....they just didn't think anything would come of them...oh silly silly people.
I love Trixie, I have been a fan of hers throughout several books, watching her brothers and the way they treat their only sister, so overprotective but she always gave them a run for their money and it was great watching her come into her own and finally go after what she wanted.
I did receive an advanced copy but due to circumstances I was unable to read this early so when it was released I bought the audiobook and I am so glad I did. This book really came to life with the narration by Savannah Peachwood and Aiden Snow. I have listened to both of these narrators before and they have always pulled me into the story where I feel as if I am a part of it, and this time was no different.
If you enjoy Friends to Lovers or Spicy Contemporary Romances I would highly recommend this book to you.
‘Hot For Love’ is the seventh book in the Braden and a Montgomery series by Melissa Foster, and my freaking god this book!
Wow...just wow! I was not ready for Nick Braden. I thought I was, but I was dead wrong. For this book boyfriend made me fall head over heels in love with him from the minute I heard he was a cowboy biker. (I mean, what a combination!)
The chemistry between Trixie and Nick is off the charts- literally they’ve broken the scale! I’ve always believed strong relationships are built upon friendship before they develop into love, and this is exactly what these two characters have. They just ‘get’ one another, and their witty banter, confusion and fiery passion was everything.
Nick Braden is a brooding big hunk of a man who doesn’t do relationships, and doesn’t remotely welcome anyone into his heart or his home. But like any rule, there’s always an exception, and Trixie Jericho has always been the girl who blazed into his life and made him feel comfortable, until one day she didn’t, and he started to get all kinds of feelings for her.
Trixie is strong-willed, confident and she has always had love hearts in her eyes for Nick, and he has always kept her close but with an armour around himself. But Trixie is determined, and when she embarks upon a new adventure requiring to stay with Nick in his house for a month, she very much is determined to push his buttons and test his patience. She is like a hurricane who blazes into his life with a force and power to destroy that armour.
Nick is very calming despite his broodiness and he takes Trixie under his wing, determined to support her new business idea when even some of her own family fail to see it as a serious reality. He guides her, but equally allows her to be herself and for her creativity to roam, and he is the best supportive book boyfriend ever.
But with Nick being sexy and sultry, and in a profession where buckle bunnies (love this term), admire and lust after him, will it be enough to threaten Trixie? Will Nick also be able to admit he actually feels more for her than he’s cared to admit?
The part I loved the most about this book is that both of the characters are very strong-willed, confident in their own minds, yet have the ability to absolutely bring each other to their knees. It’s the type of love I die to read, and a one which constantly makes me return to Foster’s books time and time again, as she knows connection and how to write deep and passionate love that crawls under your skin and makes you wish you could be a character in one of her books.
They both have their own vulnerabilities and I love how at ease they become with one another. They naturally seemed to set each other on fire, and it was an amazing read.
As per most of Foster’s books, you are introduced to interesting careers and a bunch of hilarious friends and relatives, all bursting with their own stories waiting to be told. I know I got one am dying to delve into the world of Jax Braden!
This book is the perfect read for those who love passionate romances, ones in which you can fawn of the hero and heroine, and for those who love a series. This can be read as a stand alone or as part of the Braden and Montgomery series as a whole. It is also perfect for those who love cowboys, and generally enjoy an addictive romance. Superb!
No one writes friends to more stories better than Melissa Foster. Fight me. She delivers the relationship in a way where you feel you’ve known them as long as they’ve known each other. You’re in their circle. You’re their friend as well. It’s magical. Her storytelling skills are untouchable. I haven’t always felt a kinship to her characters, but I have always felt and enjoyed the path she writes for her characters.
I honestly cannot think of a single thing I did not love about both Trixie and Nick. They’ve been friends for a while and have always had a spark, they just never did anything about it; until they did :) and it glorious! Their friendship was fun and flirty and even sexy and when it turned down a romantic path, it just exploded. GAH, I just want to be them! See, this is how I feel almost every time I read a book this woman writes. She gives me all the feels and I can never stop once I start reading! I especially like Melissa’s signature adding of secondary characters we’ve already read and love. I say signature because she does it with all (most?) of her books and it is always a pleasure to look forward to. This was no exception!
I cannot say this loud enough or often enough … Melissa Foster makes my heart happy with her stories. She writes relatable characters that you will always connect to on some level, whether it be by your own personal experience or just knowledge of a situation via someone else’s experience close to you. She is respectful of the subject matter she chooses to write about, and her stories are always entertaining! Do with that info what you will!
Lovely story. Great characters and storyline. If you are looking for a perfect friend to lovers book, search no more this is the one for you. Hot cowboy, off the chart chemistry, what more you need. Another 5 star read from lovely Melissa Foster.
Loved Trixie and Nick! This couple has the best chemistry of all the couples in this series. The way their friendship transitioned into love was so natural and believable. I'm really interested in Jax and can't wait to read his book. Don't know how long I'll have to wait. The next one is about is Amber and Dash - Sweet, Sexy Heart and I'm looking forward to it's release in August.
I absolutely loved this friends to lovers romance. It was insanely hot!! I loved the characters, Nick and Trixie, as well as everyone else. Loved all the horse stuff, too. This story is so well written. I loved how the words flowed. I was hooked and enjoyed every page. I definitely need to go back and read the rest! You cannot go wrong with this book!
I adored this book so much. Melissa Foster is one of my go-to authors and this book showcased why. I loved Nick and Trixie so much. I would love to be friends with Trixie; she was so fun and kindhearted. Nick was her perfect match. He had the perfect mix of alpha gruffness and hidden sweetness. I flew through this book and cannot wait for what Melissa writes next.
This is Trixie Jericho and Nick Braden's book. As per the usual stories we get from this author it was very hard to put down!! It was full of all the things that you want in a friends to lover's romance - humour, flying sparks, sexy fun times with plenty of emotions and at the heart of it all is a true love story!! If there's one thing guaranteed it's that no matter what mood your in a Melissa Foster book will 100% give you all the feels......
Trixie and Nick is a great friends to lovers story! I loved them, seeing side characters I know and love, and both of their “babies” who are too cute! These families and stories are just so good!
Hot for Love is the emotional and steamy friends to lovers story of Nick Braden and Trixie Jerico. Nick and Trixie have been friends for years. While Trixie has been harbouring feelings for Nick for quite some time, Nick has shown no interest beyond friendship. Disheartened by her brothers amusement about her dream to start up a miniature horse therapy business Trixie is elated when Nick steps in offering her assistance, his connections, and a place to stay as they work on getting her business off the ground. Now in Pleasant Hill, Will Trixie's dream business finally come to fruition? Will Trixie be able to break through the walls around Nick's heart? especially when he believes "Love brings destruction." Will Nick finally see Trixie as more than a friend? and What will happen when the month is up?
Riddled with emotion, steam, chemistry, cute animals, swoon-worthy and humorous moments, Trixie and Nick's story heated up my Kindle, had my heart both aching and warming, and had me laughing, swooning, smiling, and feeling like I may just need a cold shower.
I absolutely devoured this emotional, super steamy, and beautiful story and can't wait for more of series!!!
I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads, so here is my review. Author Melissa Foster has done it again. She brought the Braden and Jericho families together again with Nick and Trixie. Nick Braden is the protector, an alpha male that has wanted Trixie since the first time she stayed at his ranch. But he doesn't think she feels the same way, so he will be her friend. Besides, he doesn't believe in love or relationships. Trixie Jericho is the free spirit, take charge, independent woman who has found her calling. She wants to start her own business raising miniature horses to help others. When her brothers tease her about it, Nick offers her his ranch and a neighbor who raises mini horses and others for her to talk to to get the ball rolling. She takes a month to get started but this time things seem different with Nick. Can Trixie push Nick to show him they belong together? Will Nick give in to his feelings for the time he is with her? Will Trixie leave when the month is up? I loved the friendship between Trixie and Braden, their family ties are strong and supportive. This story is built on friendship, family, a love of horses, and a love that could last forever. Author Melissa Foster is an automatic go-to author for me. I do not have to read the blurb, I know I want to read it. If you haven't read this author before, you need to read this one. I think you can read it without reading the others but you will want to read them all after, they are that good.
[ I received a digital arc for an honest review] Hot for Love is a new romance by Melissa Foster. It's book 7 in The Braden & Montgomerys: Pleasant Hill - Oak Falls series. She has created this huge book universe, and they all fit together seamlessly and each are written in a way that they can be read as standalone for new readers and feel like visiting old friends for readers that are fans of the series. "Take your time, cowboy. My heat has been yours forever. I'm not going anywhere."
This one follows Trixie Jericho and Nick Braden. They have been best friends for such a long time that neither one would risk expressing their less than friendly feelings to the other. When Trixie finds herself staying at Nicks house for a month while she gets a new business started she decides to take the risk at the first sign of interest she sees from him. Nicks heart is closed off, he doesn't do relationships, but Trixie takes her time slowly chipping away until she gets him to see how amazing they could be together. But will jealous and a long distance relationship keep them apart or will they hold on to the new stage to their relationship they have discovered. "You know I can't say no to you." He pressed a kiss to her lips.As he carried her into the bedroom, she whispered, " But it's fun watching you try."
Trixie and Nick were fantastic characters. They were both strong-willed, snarky, and passionate. Even before they added physical intimacy to their relationship you could feel the love and care between the two of them. When they took their relationship to that next step though WOWZAH they were hot as hell. They literally couldn't keep their hands off each other and there's a memorable scene involving Champagne that will leave you hot and bothered 🔥 There was also plenty of sweet scenes between them and their animal babies and romantic picnics and nights out under the stars. "She felt his love for her in his every touch, stroke, and kiss."
One thing I love and look forward to in every Melissa Foster is the close-knit family and friend groups. They are always present in each book and this was no different. Motorcycle riding with friends, family barbecues, and Sunday brunch kept the theme of family, friends and love strong.
I don't want to say that I was missing something from the book, but it's more that I could have done with less. There seemed to be a decent amount of filler that in my opinion took me out of Trixie and Nicks romance story. Trixie's dream to work with mini horses for therapy to help bring joy to people's lives was inspiring, but she fully explains her vision multiple times throughout the book in great detail. At one point I started to skim when she went into details and logistics of it again.
Overall, Hot for Love was a pleasant addition to Melissa Fosters book world, and I'm left looking forward to more than one characters' future happily ever after.
Hot for Love by Melissa Foster The Bradens & Montgomerys: Pleasant Hll – Oak Falls #7
The woman Once a girl who had a crush Flirts with and dreams of…
The man Once a clueless youth Feels restless and on edge
She slipped under his skin just as He slipped into her dreams So many years ago.
Trixie is the only daughter and though valued by her family often feels the teasing undermining her desire to start a business and live as an adult. The first time she saw Nick. The two have developed a strong friendship over the years and when he offers his home, contacts, and experience to assist her in starting her miniature horse therapy business she snaps up his offer, moves in for a month and…well…maybe THIS time she will finally get Nick to see her as she sees him.
What I liked: * Trixie: sister, daughter, friend, giving, kind, loving, and an entrepreneur in the making. She is not afraid to reach out for what she wants and she wants a business…but even more…she wants Nick. * Nick: brother, son, elite freestyle horse trainer and showman, motorcycle rider, guitar player, helpful neighbor, and a bit cut off from his feelings. He knows Trixie is special but has not grasped how special when the book begins. * The small town feel of the story * The strong family and friend connections * The way Trixie asserts herself in the relationship without overstepping and pushing Nick too much. * Learning about miniature horses used as therapy animals * Seeing some of the characters still not paired up and knowing that there will be more stories to look forward to…and wondering who these people might find to love. * The growth of the relationship between Trixie and Nick * Revisiting the series and getting to see some of the previous couples and learning what they have been up to.
What I didn’t like: * Not a real “dislike” but I did have a few moments that I wanted to tell shake Nick a bit…clue him in. BUT that kind of resolved as the story progressed. * Having to wait for book eight.
Did I enjoy this book? Yes Would I read more in this series/by this author? Definitely
Thank you to the author for the ARC – This is my honest review.
~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~
This is the seventh book in the series, but as any Foster fan will know all of her books have links across them, which make them just the most fun to read, as it's like going to a family reunion and getting caught up on how everyone is doing! And though I do enjoy beach based ones, I do have a soft spot for cowboys and horse-centred ones too, so this was a hugely enjoyable read.
Trixie has finally decided what she wants to concentrate on as a career, she has got her plans in order, and now needs to find some miniature horses to start in the therapy business. Annoyingly her siblings, all big burly men, do not take her seriously, and really hurt her feelings. Even though that gets sorted out by her more supportive parents, she decides to go and stay with her best friend Nick, as he promises to be much more helpful.
As we see these two interact, it is so clear that they have a bond far stronger than friendship, and it is clear to each of them that they have feelings for the other ... but telling each other? Not so simple. Nick is certain that Trixie never wants to leave her home town, so he prefers to see her as much as possible and not rock the boat. Trixie knows that Nick never wants to risk love, so she never suggests she'd like to stay ...
I really enjoyed the equine elements - Nick on horseback is poetry in motion, Melissa Foster describes his skills and style so perfectly that I could absolutely see him performing in the arena in my mind. That bond and trust between man and horse is just beautifully displayed through the words. And then we get the complete opposite type of relationship when Trixie invests in miniature ponies who can do hospital visits and parties.
Another big smiley read for me - thank you again Melissa Foster for bringing rays of sunshine into my life!
“𝙏𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙗𝙚𝙩𝙬𝙚𝙚𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙢 𝙬𝙖𝙨𝙣’𝙩 𝙖𝙨 𝙣𝙚𝙬 𝙖𝙨 𝙝𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝𝙩, 𝙖𝙩 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙩 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙤𝙣 𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙨𝙞𝙙𝙚. 𝙎𝙝𝙚’𝙙 𝙗𝙚𝙚𝙣 𝙞𝙣 𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙚, 𝙞𝙣 𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙙, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙞𝙣 𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙩, 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙖 𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙡𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚. 𝙃𝙚 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙚𝙩𝙚𝙡𝙮 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙪𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙡𝙮 𝙨𝙘𝙧𝙚𝙬𝙚𝙙.” 💙 Let’s talk about “Hot For Love by Melissa Foster”. 💙 Every single time I finished reading a book from Melissa I wonder how is her writing process, because the amount of details and information regarding a relevant matter that she pours in the story is extraordinaire. I’m always in awe and I love that in the end I’m happy with the story but also I feel like I learned something too. Anyway, this is Nick Braden’s and his long-time lady best friend Trixie Jericho’s story, and it’s oooh so steamy, smart, full of banter, with strong and lovable characters.
Nick and Trix understood each other in another level, they’re in another wavelength when compared to every other human being. When all her brothers are making fun of her new business idea of opening a miniature therapy horse facility, Nick jumps at her life in an incredible supportive way. When people say that actions speak louder than words, it’s true and it’s Nick’s moto. He might be grumpy, broody or whatever, but dear lord, may I order on Nick to go, please? I love him so much!
Trixie is another force to be reckoned with. That girl is strong, fierce and challenges Nick at every turn. I loved that despite her family, she wanted to create a legacy of her own. And may I say? Now I really want to have a mini horse! They are so freakin’ cute! Although I love her, at the beginning I was really annoyed with her, I hate when “people” force others to open up or tell their secrets and she did that to Nick I was ready to scream “back off, girl”! Anyway, her strategy worked in the end, so who am I to say?
As usual, another must read from Melissa. With the end of this book she brought swoony effect to a new high. Sigh. If anyone find a real life Nick around, let me know!
This review was originally posted on Star Crossed Reviews I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. Thank you to Melissa and Lisa for my copy of this book. I'm such a big fan of this series and Melissa's book as a whole so I'm always excited for a new couple to fall in love with.
Nick and Trixie soon stole my heart. It's obvious from the first page that these two are meant to be. They are so hot it's off the charts. The chemistry is electrifying. There's also genuine friendship underneath it all. Trixie has been crushing on Nick her entire adult life but Nick has been so closed off to falling in love that he never saw it. their friendship was just so special.
I loved seeing Nick breakdown his walls, or more accurately Trixie jumping over them. Melissa drew out all the emotions from me. There were definitely some happy tears. Nick and Trixie's story burrowed it's way to my heart. There's a lot of really sweet romantic moments in this book that I just loved.
I love the big Braden family and all the little connections in this book. If you have read a lot of the Love in Bloom series you will get a kick out of all of these. There were also some hints for future books. I noticed some sparks flying for Braden and Montgomery Siblings but also some Jerhico siblings. I honestly cannot wait for more!
Steamy, Emotional and absolutely addicting. The moment I started reading I fell in love with Nick and Trixie! They have been friends for years and there has always been chemistry between them, but neither one of them really acted upon that chemistry and the connection they had.
I couldn’t get enough of these two. Nick’s love for his animals showed throughout this entire story. You can feel how much he truly cares for them. Plus, the peacefulness of his farm. Trixie is a little fireball and I loved her. She is sassy, feisty, can hold her own and also extremely caring. Trixie wants the fairy tale, she wants someone to love her and support her. Nick on the other hand believes that love is destructive, especially given everything that happened in his past.
These two brought out so much in the other. I loved their friendship, their chemistry, their banter, and their relationship. Nick and Trixie quickly became one of my favorite Melissa Foster couples to date! I’m #TeamNixie for life!
If you’re looking for a cowboy romance that has steam, friends to lover, emotions and sweetness mixed in this is one to read!
We know the Jericho kids. If you have read any of the previous books, we have ran into them and know that they are hard working, big hearted, strong, independent and stubborn (fairly standard for a lot of Melissa’s characters!)
Trixie is no exception.
She is the only girl to her brothers, and daddy’s little girl, but that doesn’t stop her from being sweet, sexy, determined, and just as stubborn.
The Braden men are known for the same thing and Nick is no exception either. He is private, quiet, hardworking, and just has stubborn.
Trixie and Nick have an amazing friendship that they have had for years and while everyone else can see what is right in front of them, Trixie and Nick can’t! Trixie has known since she first met Nick many, many years ago, but Nick refused to see it and still does. (Regardless of it trying to smack him in the face!)
Their story is so much fun to follow! Trixie’s business is amazing and the way Nick helps her… the near missed opportunity… Trixie’s loving, challenging nature… Nick’s big, romantic heart… literally swoon-worthy! I loved this book so much! Their story was so special and full of love.
Best of all, if you have not read a Melissa Foster romance – ever – you won’t be missing out on anything! This absolutely can be read as a stand alone, but I am telling you; once you read this one, you will find yourself coming back for more!
It's been a while since I enjoyed a contemporary romance as much as I enjoyed the audiobook of Hot for Love. I am new to this series but had met a couple of the characters from another book by Melissa Foster. I found all of the characters to be likeable and interesting and every character had a great role. Nick, the hot cowboy (horse rancher.) with a legion of female fans is the epitome of gruff, and private, when away from his work. Trixie is the exception to that privacy rule. She is also his closest female friend and a family friend. Trixie is sociable, friendly, caring and fun. She has also had feelings for Nick for a long time but had given up on the thought that anything may happen. The chemistry between these two leapt off of the page. But it is how supportive that they are for each other makes this more than just a romance. Their friendship has been built on a strong platform of respect and support. The narration by Savannah Peachwood and Aiden Snow was excellent they gave each character a voice that suited their personality and the scenes were acted wonderfully. I was drawn into the story and kept there from the first word to the last. 🎧Audiobook Obsession Reviewer
Hot for Love is a full of sass, friendship, and growth. This book is one of my favorites in the Love in Bloom series because the main characters are from my two favorite families. I love the loyalty and connection the Jerichos and the Bradens have.
Trixie is strong, caring, and determined. She knows what she wants and finds a way to make it happen. Her business idea is fantastic for her life style. Melissa Foster does a great job of making Trixie's passion come to life.
Nick is loyal, protective, and guarded. He doesn't like people to see his vulnerabilities. His very guarded when it comes to his heart.
Trixie does a good job at slowly breaking down Nick's walls. These two fit so well together. The connection they share when it comes to horses and animals comes across so real. The way Melissa wrote the characters interactions and love for their animals makes them seem relatable and easy to connect with.
I received this book as an advance reader's copy. All opinions are my own. I volunteered to leave my review.
Melissa Foster has taken two of my favorite characters and given them their own book. I have loved the little snippets of Trixie and Nick that have appeared in previous books. And even those small bits have had me wanting the two get together.
Trixie, though, has overbearing older brothers. Nick is, of course, friends with her brothers. There is some weird code between guys about their sisters. I am sure every younger sister out there has wanted to tell an older brother to back off. Instead, Trixie and Nick fell into a denial game that put them each in the other's friend zone. And best friends at that. No one wants to screw up having a best friend.
When Nick offers Trixie a way to start her own business, he may have pushed himself out of the friend zone but you will have to pick up a copy of Hot for Love to find out all the details. This is a book like I have never read before. I kept waiting for something unexpected or bad to happen and it never did. This is one you have to read. I have volunteered to share my review and all the opinions are 100% my own.
Trixie Jericho is a spitfire. Growing up with only brothers she has always had to prove herself. Prove that she can keep up with the boys, prove that she can handle herself, and prove that she can follow her own dreams. Nick Braden, sigh, has offered Trixie his house as a home base for the next month to figure out what it will take to start her own miniature horse business. He has no doubt it will be hard to share his house with Trixie since he has been attracted to her and has had feelings for her forever.
I just have to say that I love, love, love these two together. They challenge each other, they push each other, and the trust each other. Nick pushes Trixie to start her business, purchase her horses, and make her dreams come true. Trixie pushes Nick to let people in, open up about his past, and to let her in. Both knew that they needed to find their happy ever after and knew that that happiness was dependent on them being together.
Their fights, their making up, and the loving was always exactly right. Neither lost their spunk by being together. They both stood their ground, opened their hearts, and fell into each other.
If you are looking for more awesome books to read while stuck at home I got a perfect book for you. As you know Melissa Foster is one of my absolute favorite authors and she has a new book out called Hot for Love and it is amazing. If you love happy ever after romance stories any of Melissa’s books are perfect but this one made me have all the feels.
This book follows Nick and Trixie’s story. Nick is a broody handsome cowboy that everyone can easily fall in love with if he can let his walls down. He loves his family and his animals and is an amazing friend but love is not for him at least that’s what he thinks.
Trixie is a strong woman who grew up on a ranch with her brothers and parents. She is fun, caring and ready to start a new chapter in her life with starting a therapy business with miniature horses. She also is head over heels for her best friend but he doesn’t even notice her or does he?
This story made me believe in true love conquers all. Nick is so stubborn and blind but such a secret romantic that all us girls dream of. Trixie reminds me of how strong and stubborn I can be. I absolutely love this book. I definitely recommend it! Get it today!
A beautiful story with beautiful characters from beginning to end that will capture your heart as you read.
I really enjoyed the storyline of cowgirl Trixie building a new therapy miniature horse business and the full support from her best friend and horse trainer Nick and everyone around them gave her to make it a success. Nick and Trixie have been great friends over the years and their attraction to each other has been growing yet neither one saying anything to the other. They are both such lovely characters but Nick is a hard nut to crack, he's sensitive and keeps his emotions deep, he likes his own space and way of life, but if anyone can give him the push he needs it's Trixie. In fact, Nick pretty much needs a push to realize his own feelings at times, along with portions of jealousy that works wonders. Once they get together the heat from the kitchen intensies throughout the story, and it's HOT!! My favorite part is when Nick decides to go public, well basically I loved all of book as if I was watching everything unfold right before my eyes, but that was powered by emotion that really struck with me.
Nick and Trixie have a special magic that warms you as you read, the surrounding characters and adorable animals bring even more enjoyment to the story, there's full on laughter, fun, sexiness and emotion to be had with this heartwarming and refreshing read from Melissa.
You're going to need a fan and a big glass of ice water for this book, because it's HOT! Trixie and Nick have been great friends for years, but lately they've both had secret feelings for each other. When Trixie wants to go out on her own (and out from under her family's wings) it makes perfect sense to stay with her good friend, who will help her start her business.
But they're both struggling being around each other, thinking like their feelings are a one way street. All it takes is one challenge to make the sparks into a bonfire, and they're quickly on their way to a relationship.
But can Trixie get through Nick's carefully erected walls? And will their ties to their hometowns be what breaks them apart forever?
I love that this was a crossover from two series, because we got to see so many old friends and catch up on their lives! Trixie and Nick have become one of my all-time favorite couples.
