This is a good halloween novella to read very spicy and alittle messed up!

We have Githany who sees dead people she's a medium who helps out. Is invited by some friends to check out haunted house on Halloween night and when she gets there she feels something and that also triggers some monsters at the haunt Hunt, Madness and Gator know something is special about there ghost girl so its alot of fear play trying to figure out what Githany is.

But it's a fun darkish read. If you wanna dabble into it.

I thought it was an amazing short little Halloween story. You have three mask demons that take on human forms to feed of fear.

But the real story start when the FMC is little and she plays with an ouija board, after that she sees ghost. She helps her friend (paranormal hunters) at a haunted house only she can sense the demons. When she cross path with them, they want nothing more but to devour their “ghost girl.”

Arc Review

I was so excited when I heard that Violet Taylor was coming out with a new book. The author writes monster romance perfectly.

Well usually she does. This book fell flat for me.
For such a short book it really dragged on and felt extremely long.
What would usually take me 2, max 3 hours to read, actually took me 2 days!

This book did not read as romance. It was more of horror smut then monster smut and even the smut was not enjoyable unfortunately. I didn't connect to any of the MC's and honestly felt as if the MMC's were all trying too hard to be "monsters"

And I couldn't take our FMC seriously with a name like Githany. Wth kind of name is that supposed to be? Everytime one of the MMC's called her that I cringed.
I understood once I completed the book that it was a play on Gluttony but omg did her name annoy me so much.

Here's to hoping my next Violet Taylor read is better. Will definitely re-read my favourites by her but this one will not be a part of that.

For me this was a terrifying monster horror romance, and definitely not for the faint of heart. Ghosts and Demons scare me and this book had my heart racing!

Fed by fear is definitely a read for the Halloween season. Especially if you enjoy a VERY spicy, twisted MMFM story about a girl who sees the dead and the terrifying fear demons that pursue her through a haunted house on Halloween night.

Blood, gore, demons, ghosts, wild spice and a twisted happily ever after. I don't know how to explain this experience, except that it was a WILD and creepy ride with Githany, Hunt, Gator and Madness.

Be careful reading this one in the dark, because Violet is the master of terrifying monster romance, that will makes you question everything and have you checking dark corners for masked men.

I enjoyed the understanding of Githany's truth. It was set up well and the demons falling head over heels for her was kinda adorable. They give in to her wants and help her with anything she needs.
I am finding that I am liking monster/cryptid/demon romances more and more. This one only stoked that new found excitement.

A monster masked men horror romance?? Sign me up! Violet does monster romance so amazingly good!! This one was just as amazing as all of her other ones!! The haunted attraction. Fear demons. A FMC that can see and talk to ghosts. So many good points here! It being based in NC just added to it since that’s where I’m from 😂

The different domains of each of the demons were done so well with what they were embodying and seeing the scenes play out in those areas was sooo good!

I loved the fact they were instantly all on the same page of we have to have her after seeing her 😏

Hunt, Gator & Madness were spooky in their human bodies but as their true monster selves they were even better honestly!

Monster peens always got me curious so I hope we get some nsfw art for this book soon!!

This is a dark horror monster reverse harem romance. It is part of the Darkly Depraved Monsters series of standalones and is a self-contained story.

FMC Githany can see dead people. She has been able to ever since a mysterious incident as a child. Because of this, she’s a bit of a loner, but does work with some ghost chasers who investigate paranormal activities. Their group gets a lead on a haunted house that makes you sign a waiver because of all the injuries that occur. And yes, there is something sinister going on, three creepy but hot demons who feed on fear, and… other things. And yes, the boyfriends are boyfriends.

So this is one of those books that I don’t want to unpack my feelings about. Did I like it? Yes, very much. Do I want to address what that means about me? No thank you. Was it f-ed up? So f-ed up. Would I recommend it? That’s gonna depend. It is not a cute, cozy monster romance. It’s listed as horromance, and it’s an apt description. It had some scary moments, but she liked it, so it was fine. They aren’t morally grey, it’s clear where their morals lie. But I could not put it down and was fully invested in the story from the first page. I didn't like that some of the others in the series had dark endings, but I actually found this one kind of nice. For them. (Not for everybody, but their foursome had a HEA.)

If you like scary, dark monster romance and don’t need your MCs to be very human, give this a go. And since I fall into that category, I can’t wait to see what depravity is next in the series.

This book is the definition of scared and h*rny lol

I am a huge fan of Taylor especially her more Halloween/monster novellas. They are overall just super hot, fun, and a unique spin on a monster romance. But this one felt very different from her other novellas than the ones that I have read in the past.

One thing I love about Taylor is just that she doesn't do much repeating (that I have noticed at least) and this was probably her scariest novella? She leans into the horromance and there were times where I was very scared and knew I would be losing it if I was Githany. I also felt like the monsters/heroes were truly monstrous, and as someone who reads alot of monster romance, not alot phases me but this time? I was like oop- okay she went there! I will say Taylor is marketing this as a why choose and I would actually argue that this is more poly romance than why choose. The heroes have a relationship prior to the heroine and they often engage with each other on page and in the past (if you get what I mean).

The only thing that prevents this from be a 5 star for me is that I didn't really like the info dumping at the end. I felt like it came a little out of nowhere and wish there were more hints throughout the novella in order to break it up. There was also a weird info dump in the beginning of the book that felt weird since there were so many steamy scenes back to back that it just took me out.

Overall, I loved this and feel like it is perfect if you are wanting a smutty Halloween monster novella!

I regret not buying every single book by this author at a recent book event! I read fed by fear and I absolutely devoured it! If you are into Halloween Horror Nights and why choose books, it's obvious that you're going to love this book! There are definitely lots of moments that gave me that creepy eerie feeling, but you also get the horny factor as well!

This book is short, spooky, spicy, and was such a good time!

It was weird to me the sudden 180 of Hunt, Madness and Gator going from doing all they could to scare Githany to then instalove.

The spice was good fun and different, who doesn’t like a double headed demon that can conjure numerous peens? Or a demon with a knot 👀

Hehehehehe... I just finished reading this arc by Violet Taylor, and as always, it was amazing! I loved the storyline so much it was unique, fun, and completely pulled me in from the very beginning.

Our FMC is such a baddie. She can see ghosts, but that ability comes at a price, which made her story even more compelling. Then we have our three MMCs... absolutely delicious. Each of them brings something different to the story, and together, the four of them create such an incredible bond that had me wishing the story would go on so much longer.

I just love the way Violet Taylor writes. Her obsession with Halloween matches mine perfectly, and this story definitely did not disappoint. I absolutely loved the haunted house setting and the fact that our three MMCs feed on the fear of the people coming through the attraction.

And, of course, Violet Taylor always knows how to deliver the spice. Every character is well taken care of, the chemistry is fantastic, and when the spicy scenes hit... they really hit. She knows exactly how to make the spice extra spicy while still building meaningful relationships between the characters.

Another amazing read from Violet Taylor, and I already can't wait for the next one!

For a spooky season lover such as myself I’m so glad she is releasing this book in the summer because I’m already craving all my weird, Halloween style books and this was satisfying! It’s a shorter read but packed with a twisted tale of demons, and horror, and all the spooky spice. I loved this!

This one had me absolutely hooked from the start! Spooky romances always suck me in, but the flow of this book kept me coming back for more and the setting. Githany was such a lonely women who didn’t like people getting close to her because of a series events. When she decides to go investigate a Haunted house attraction she finds not only that things aren’t as they seem, but she finds three monsters who want nothing more than to worship her. The way this book closed out was absolutely amazing seeing Hunt, Madness and Gator show their love and appreciation for her staying with them how absolutely wonderful they all fit together was perfect. Such an amazing read and now I want more spooky books!!

Violet Taylor does not disappoint, and Fed by Fear had me hooked. Githany, Madness, Gator and Hunt? Yeah… they gave me CHILLS.

This is horror romance exactly how I like it: dark, twisted, sexy, unsettling and chaotic as fuck, but with an actual story underneath all the madness. And trust me, there is A LOT happening here.

This book is twist after twist after twist, and somehow it works. Nothing felt like it was thrown in purely for shock value. There’s actually a lot of information to absorb, the story has layers, and the world is described so vividly that I could picture everything happening in my head, which, considering some of the things happening in this book, was both a blessing and a curse. 😂

The MMFM dynamic also had me completely invested. Githany, Madness, Gator and Hunt bring such different energies to the story, and that mix of attraction, danger and absolute insanity worked SO WELL for me. They’re unhinged, they’re intense, and somehow I still found myself getting attached to them.

Because apparently that’s who I am as a person.

But THE ENDING?

Excuse me?

I thought I had things figured out. I was comfortable with my little theories, happily watching the chaos unfold…

And then Violet Taylor said: absolutely fucking not.

She got me GOOD.

This was creepy, spicy, unpredictable and ridiculously entertaining, with enough substance behind the horror to make it more than just a collection of shocking moments.

Isto é horror romance exatamente como eu gosto: dark, twisted, sexy, perturbador e caótico para caraças, mas com uma história a sério por baixo de toda a loucura. E acreditem, acontece MUITA coisa neste livro.

É plot twist atrás de plot twist atrás de plot twist e, de alguma forma, resulta. Nada me pareceu estar ali apenas pelo choque. Há imensa informação para absorver, a história tem várias camadas e todo o universo é descrito de uma forma tão visual que conseguia imaginar perfeitamente aquilo que estava a acontecer, o que, tendo em conta algumas das coisas que acontecem aqui, foi simultaneamente uma bênção e uma maldição. 😂

A dinâmica MMFM também me deixou completamente investida. A Githany, o Madness, o Gator e o Hunt trazem energias completamente diferentes à história e aquela mistura de atração, perigo e absoluta insanidade funcionou TÃO BEM comigo. São unhinged, são intensos e, de alguma forma, ainda consegui ficar apegada a eles.

I genuinely have no idea how to review Fed by Fear without ruining the experience, because half the fun was repeatedly realizing that I had ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA what kind of book I was reading.

Horror romance? Monster romance? Paranormal horror? Twisted, grown-up Monsters, Inc. fever dream? Yes.

Every time I thought I knew where Violet Taylor was taking the story, she basically said, “That’s adorable,” and went somewhere else.

The world-building was INSANE. Githany is a goth paranormal investigator who can actually see ghosts, carries a curse that puts everyone close to her in danger, and gets pulled toward a horrifying abandoned amusement park called Reaper’s Playground. I was completely invested. The paranormal investigation elements, the mystery surrounding Githany, the horror, the mythology… I kept reading because I NEEDED answers.

And this is absolutely HORROR. Not cute Halloween spooky. There were moments where I was simultaneously fascinated, disturbed, intrigued and wondering whether I should be enjoying myself this much.

Then we got to the monster spice.

Friends.

At one point my brain went, “This is like hooking up with Randall from Monsters, Inc.,” and unfortunately once that thought entered my head, there was no recovering. 😂

For possibly the first time in my reading life, I SKIPPED THE SPICE TO GET BACK TO THE PLOT.

Who am I???

That ended up being my biggest disconnect. I loved the characters and the world, but I never fully felt the romantic/physical connection between them. Maybe these monsters were simply a little too monster for me. By the time things became more intimate, I wanted more emotional buildup to make me believe in that part of the relationship.

And while there was absolutely nothing wrong with the ending or the writing, I personally would have taken the story in a different direction after such an incredible buildup.

But the WRITING? The imagination? The world? Violet Taylor caught me off guard over and over again. This is not cheap horror smut with a spooky background slapped onto it. This woman built an entire nightmare playground and invited me inside.

Apparently I bought a pile of her books at Sinners & Stardust without knowing what I was getting myself into.

Excellent decision, past me.

Will I be reading another one?

Another great monster romance from Violet Taylor! I knew after Stitches and Ours for Halloween that this one would deliver and I definitely wasn't disappointed!

Githany can see the dead and has made it a point not to get close to anyone after the events in her past. Occasionally helping out a local paranormal ghost hunting group, TAPIT, she's talked into going to the local haunted house, Reaper's Playroom, to see if she can sense anything supernatural about it.

What she finds herself walking into is fearful supernatural yumminess! Hunt, Gator, and Madness were all fantastic MMCs - this is the first why choose I can think of where I don't have a clear favorite! They were all dark, unhinged, and possessive and each one tickled a special part of my brain!

I loved seeing just how monster-like they were, feeding on fear and causing chaos with very little to no concern for who the humans were they were going after or how said humans would interpret everything going on. Hunt, chain wielding psycho, definitely suits his name being the perfect mix of possessive and unhinged hunter. Gator gave us that fantastic degradation and domination and Madness gave us... well madness. They made such a great trio and then you throw in Githany and they made the perfect group!

And the SPICE - Violet did such a great job with her creativity here and I'm OBSESSED with all the different elements she threw in. Monster peens, great positions, fantastic dirty talk, it just got better the more you read!

I also loved how the book ended! We get a clear picture of Githany's past and get to see how the guys integrate her into their lives and their hunts - and deal with her when she misbehaves! So keeping my fingers crossed we get an audio for this one in the future!

This was my first experience with monster romance, but I wanted to see what it was all about since it's a fancied subgenre of dark romance. To date, I haven't found anything that triggers me, so this was me expanding my already eclectic reading history and TBR.

Since I went in blind, I didn't have any expectations, but if I did, I think they would have been met. The author did a great job making sure the readers weren't completely horrified with the characters, but still made sure to show how different they were from humans while also still humanizing them.

My favorite characters in the why-choose stories are oftentimes the wild, crazy, psychotic, unhinged ones, so it's no surprise I liked Madness the most. He kind of reminded me of Diesel from Den of Vipers, and I laughed a little every time he was in a scene, or when a chapter had his POV.

ForFor those of you who like a little horror mixed in with romance, you'll probably like this. However, if you're not into MM/FF scenes, this might not be for you because there are three males to one female, and the males have some of their own spicy scenes.

Even though this was a quick read, the author made sure there was some plot, along with a backstory so that the audience could relate to the characters. The FMC had a more detailed character arc to show her progression and the changes she experienced.

All opinions are my own.

Okay, Violet Taylor really said, “What if Halloween was terrifying AND spicy?” and then delivered Fed by Fear. Githany heads into a haunted attraction expecting fake scares and instead finds three very real masked demons. Hunt, Madness, and Gator are there to hunt, terrorize, and feed, but Githany has secrets of her own. I loved that the monsters actually felt monstrous. They weren’t just humans with claws slapped on them. There were moments where I was genuinely creeped out, which is impressive because monster romance usually doesn’t scare me. This one definitely leaned into the horromance, and I was here for it.

Madness was easily my favorite. The man is completely unhinged, and every scene with him had me laughing while also wondering if Githany should maybe run for her life. The MMFM setup brings plenty of spice, and the guys have their own chemistry with each other too, so I’d call this more poly than a traditional why choose. The characters were fun, and I liked that Githany actually had an arc instead of just being dropped into the story for the spicy scenes. My biggest issue was the plot. Some things felt underdeveloped, while other parts seemed to come out of nowhere. There were also a couple of information dumps that interrupted the flow, especially toward the end. At times, it felt like the story was rushing to get from one spicy scene to the next.

Overall, this was basically a haunted house, three nightmare creatures, a psychic goth, and an alarming amount of questionable decision-making. So obviously I devoured it. I just wish the story had been given a little more room to breathe because some of the twists could have hit harder with better buildup. If you want a quick, twisted Halloween read with masks, monsters, spice, and plenty of “girl, RUN!” moments, this one absolutely fits the mood. Just check the content warnings first because Violet Taylor definitely went there.

When I got this, it completely derailed my entire night and I finished in less than 24 hours. I DEVOURED it and loved every single twisted second!

Githany can see dead people and agrees to investigating a popular haunted house attraction on halloween night... what she finds there is three masked fear demons.
The question is, will she survive the night?

I wish there was an option higher than 5 stars because that is how I felt about it! Violet went darker with this one and I was a huge fan of it! You get spooky vibes, horror elements, and spice all wrapped into one book with a HEA ending. All the expectations that I went in with were both met and surpassed.

I did go in thinking that Hunt was my fav and reading this, I don’t think anyone can actually make me choose a clear favorite because I loved them so much... But its possible that Madness may have the slight edge...

If you’re looking for a book to get you into the halloween mood, definitely add this to the absolute TOP of your TBR!!
If you need more convincing (not sure why, lol) I’ll say: maze of mirrors + chainsaw chase.

Seriously though, read this ASAP once it comes out!!!!
It’ll be on my mind for a while and I already want to do a reread!

Okay, Violet Taylor. We need to have a conversation.

Because WHY do you keep creating monsters that have me questioning whether I actually value my continued existence?!

Fed by Fear was creepy, dark, deliciously twisted, and exactly the kind of monster romance that makes my brain go, “Oh no, he’s terrifying.” And then immediately: “Anyway… where do I sign?”

Githany gets herself tangled up with THREE MASKED DEMONS whose entire purpose is basically hunting, terrorizing, and FEEDING on people.

And my reaction was apparently:

“Oh no!”

*sees Happy Hunt*

“Oh no… ” Queue a fake attempt at getting away.

The demons wouldn’t even have to fight for my soul. I’d be standing there like, “Here. Take it. Do you need my forwarding address too?”

And HAPPY HUNT?! Ma’am. MA’AM.

I would have flirted with that man in his disguise. I would have flirted with him in monster form. Put the mask on? Even worse. Apparently nothing activates my questionable decision-making skills faster than a terrifying monster with a good aesthetic.

At this point, Violet Taylor could write, “A 900-year-old sewer creature crawled out of a drain and wants to eat you,” and I’d be like, “Okay but is he single?”

I genuinely don't know what is wrong with me, but I DO know Violet Taylor is an enabler.

Absolutely feral. Absolutely obsessed. Absolutely would make terrible decisions again.
