Ugh. I was disappointed with this book. I loved the first 2 so I was super psyched for the final one. I finishes it in one day and it just felt so rushed! The Cameron character, in my opinion, deserved a better ending and fuller story since he sacrificed a lot and proved his worth over and over again. The fact that her sacrifice was so temporary felt like a cop out juts to have her end up with the good guy. I would have preferred to see Cameron changed because of his role in ending the war and saving the souls that the good inside him now shines through and he is no longer a reaper which allows Ember to grow to love him since Asher is gone. That would have felt like a more justified ending to me than the rather rushed and predictable one that was offered in the text.

To be honest, I liked Ember better when she was with Cameron
October 21, 2016
I sit and write this review, still unsure of how I feel about this book. Don't get me wrong. I loved it. But of the three, it was probably my least favorite. For many reasons that primarily are based on personal opinions. It had nothing to do with the plot, the writing, or the author. It was all a line of elements in which I wanted to happen, but didn't, and well sometimes stories don't really end the way we want them to, because they're not supposed to. I will leave spoilers out of the equation, but from the beginning I've had a weird love toward Asher and Cameron, and both for different reasons. Like I said, Cameron is that funny bad boy we all love and can't get enough of, but I've discovered that his character runs deeper than that. Way deeper. And perhaps that is why I sit here on the fence. In one sense, I feel like he claimed Ember first, and if you have read the first book you will understand. He's been there the longest with his eyes set on her, yet in most ways I feel he got shafted. How does one react to seeing the one he loves with someone else. Well, he was far more tolerant than most I must say. And most of his reactions are warranted. Ah, Cameron. I feel he really screwed himself over in book one. Realistically I get why she was always so distant with him. In real life us girls are probably going to stray just like Ember. We tend to want to AVOID getting hurt like the plague, and it seems bad always followed Cameron's games in the beginning, and I think that's what ultimately led to the sinking ship of what his heart wanted. But, with this said, I think he redeemed himself in more ways than one, leaving me with a sigh for him so many times. I'll admit that I really wanted her to sample more from him than what I got, which was also selfless on his part in a twisted way. *heavy heart sigh* Would it have been a little slutty? Not to me. I feel to really be torn with a decision you need to really know what you're dealing with on both sides, and this is where I felt Ember didn't really have all the cards laid out in front of her. How was her choice hard at all? We're all taught to choose good over evil, but when evil offers you something enticing, well, then that's your true hardship. She even said that when she was between the two she felt in balance. And this is one thing I actually agree with. The problem is, he gave up a lot -- to get what in return? More evil he didn't want? I'm so sad for him. But, what's meant to be is meant to be I suppose. I just really hope he gets a story, because that boy truly deserves love probably more than most of the characters. Even amongst everything he is, he was selfless, and that is what makes him truly deserving of happiness.
Asher, the sweet caring one. I did love him throughout the full series, which is why I'm so torn. I was really getting upset toward the end. The mother for one -- like how the hell can she judge Cameron after what she did?!? I wanted to slap her, far worse than any aggravation against Ember. It was really difficult to tolerate her, especially considering what side she was supposed to be on. Still, I don't know. Ugh. I do love the ending, but then, I think my heart is just too heavy for Cameron to know. Overall, 4.5 for me. <<< I never really understood that crap; the .5 in rating, and I never do them, except now, because as much as I loved it, one sad lovable guy got ripped to pieces even in becoming probably the least evil of them all.

I've read the first two books in this series and now that I'm on the third all the terrible poetry is formally getting to me. I really love the plot and the twists and turns, and the characters are awesome! I just can't take anymore poetry, idk if I can even finish the book....

Spark X (The Collectors of Death X Book 3) by Jessica Sorensen
Spark X (The Collectors of Death X Book 3) by Jessica Sorensen ~~ ❤️💀 This was such a satisfying conclusion to the adult trilogy! Ember faces her greatest challenges yet as she must decide not only who holds her heart but also the future of the entire world. The action is intense, the emotional moments hit hard, and the final revelations were well worth the journey. I loved watching every storyline come together while the romance, danger, and supernatural elements stayed strong from beginning to end. Jessica Sorensen delivers an exciting finale filled with sacrifice, hope, and unforgettable characters that made this trilogy an easy one to binge. 🖤📖⚔️

Well Damn
At some point I was expecting for Cameron to have some kind of happy ending. He got the raw end of the deal always. Parents didn’t want him, brother gave up on him, and the girl he loved refused to love him back or see the good in him…..

loved the series
Read thru all 3 fairly quickly. Getting to see Cameron change and his outcome. How Embers sacrifice lead her back with Asher! So happy with how it ended. I do with they did more on Cameron but overall a good way to end the series.

Spark-X rounds out an interesting and intriguing series of novels. I have been waiting for this one for quite some time and I am happy I was allowed to read it. Ember is in for the battle of a lifetime, she must decide which side she will choose. The good, or the bad. She has spent a ton of energy trying to keep the distance between Asher and her. It’s hard to fall in love with someone that you know can’t be with you forever. I felt Embers turmoil, and her reluctance to accept things as they were.
Cameron puts a wrench in their relationship. However, as bad as he may be…he really isn’t what he appears. If I had to choose between Asher and Cameron I would be torn. That is how Ember feels, the good side loves Asher while the bad side loves Cameron. Me personally, I pick Cameron…Yum! Cameron shows his true side throughout Spark-X and his deep feelings for Ember. I can feel the torment in him knowing she loves another. It’s on the edge of gut wrenching. I could see his face, masked, trying to hide how he feels. Ouch!
Ember and Asher delve deep trying to figure out the details of a book. They venture into some intense situations to be able to read the content of it. Parts of it ripped my heart out, but have faith this is a happily ever after.
I love this book and I truly enjoyed this series. The supernatural and unique plot twists create a tension to keep the readers intrigued. I was glued to the pages, you know when you can’t turn the page fast enough to find out what happens. That was me.
Spark-X is an adventure not to be missed, mixed with memorable characters that stand on their own. Grab it up!

*Spoiler Alert* Spark X and Spark (YA version) are the third in the Death Collectors Series. If you haven't read Ember and Cinder, please go back and do so before continuing.
Angels and reapers, a love triangle and a quest to save the souls of countless humans. There is so much going on here. I started reading in the evening and was honestly reluctant to go to sleep, wanting to find out what happens.
What choice does Ember make? What are the consequences?
The author does a fantastic job of keeping you guessing. Things aren't always as they seem.
Ember is so confused. Being pulled in opposing directions while simultaneously being hunted is exhausting. She's charged with a huge responsibility, but she's not all alone in her quest. She has help from both sides, angel and reaper, in Asher and Cameron. Despite the pressure, she manages to hold her own. I was definitely cheering for her.
I was torn between Asher and Cameron. I felt for them both. They each help and protect her in their own way. The choice she has to make is hideous.
This story is a dream for fantasy/ paranormal lovers. The tension is palpable. The characters are lovable and flawed. Vivid imagery draws you into their world while the action builds to an exciting crescendo.
Doing an adult and YA version is a stroke of genius. Teens will love this story.
Hard to put this one down to even stop and eat.
Brilliant. 5.5 flares.

this was a good trilogy. It had its moments where it seemed like it was dragging along and the author was just making up stuff to make the book longer. I did like the concept of the story. the ending was abrupt and felt rushed. I was starting to think it would continue into a 4th book because I was like..."okay how is this supposed to all end in fifteen pages?" cause that's how quickly it ended. I do like the chracters. I felt bad for Cameron though. after all the times he proved he had a good side and then in the end he gets put in quote "his own personal hell" was pretty messed up way to treat him. yes he had his downfalls but in the end he really was trying to prove everyone he was more than just a reaper. I did get chocked up in the end when the sacrfice was made. but then it completly contradicted the entire trilogy when Asher came back. its like after the enitre story is based around sacrifices and then it was only a suffering for one year. I love Asher and didn't want him to die but for the story to have the ending it had made it not as epic but predictable. some stories have sad endings with a twisted happy ending. this one was "happy" but didn't make sense to the story. a lot of un answered questions. anyways...it wasnt horrible but it wasn't great either. I stuck it out till the end and I'm glad I did :)

March 31, 2015Wait wait wait.
Stayed up until midnight to get this book as soon it was released and read it until I fell asleep and then just finished it because I needed to know how things would tie up (although I didn't even know this was the last book)
You know when you realise you know how a book's going to end and who she picks in a love triangle and you still hope that the opposite will happen?
Yeah, I wanted the opposite to happen because my favourite character got an open ending!! And I'm so upset because I wanted her to realise her feelings for him and make him happy!!
So yeah very upset and crying because I just want him to be loved! He took care of her all her life and tried to help her and this is what he gets?
Ok ok overall I do understand the ending (although it did seem a bit too easy at the end, especially with all the build up, although anything longer and I guess it would've been boring)
Also hate the '1 year later' thing in books but hey
I'm just relieved everyone is alive!!!
I would be overwhelmingly, exceptionally happy if there was another book in the series? That just kinda changed everything and her feelings and such? yeah ok I'm being a bit to hopeful buy hey

This is a tough review for me. I absolutely loved this series but I feel so let down with this last book. The book started out good but I felt like the ending was really rushed.
From the very beginning it’s been Cameron vs. Asher, which one does Ember belong with, which one does she love? The good one, Asher or the bad one, Cameron. Why does everything have to be so black and white? Clearly Cameron is not all bad or evil. He goes out of his way to help Ember. Going against the bad side, the one he choose, the Grim Reapers. And he clearly does it out of love. Yes there were agendas behind his actions but it doesn’t change the fact that he made sacrifices out of his love for Ember. I feel like she’s only choosing Asher because she perceives him as “good” but does she even know him? I feel like she’s only choosing him because she doesn’t want to be “bad”. Like that will somehow happen if she chooses to be with Cameron.
I was also waiting for some epic battle or some super power from Ember. She’s one of a kind. The one meant to balance the world yet when the time came I was like “oh” that’s it.
I just….I NEED more.

THIS IS A VERY QUICK READ! DID SHE ALSO TRIED AND FINISH IN A RUSH?
This is my personal opinion, whatever attack I'll get is not gonna make me changed it, I just hope that people respect the fact that we have the right to voice our opinion, especially if we're spending money!
Even though took forever for this book to come out, it was a freaking quick read. I supposed Ms Sorensen doesn't give a damn about some series cause I have notice that she's more dedicated to her other series, with the exception of Sin & Secrets, Death Collectors and Shattered Promises Series!
If it hadn't been for the fact that this book was to short and finish in a rush, this series would had been perfect! Sorry, but in all honesty I was very disappointed because she's a fabulous author and I wasn't expecting this.

I remember reading the first two books and loving them. I don't know what happened with this one. It just didn't make sense for me.
This is a spoiler for the end of the book, and if you want to be surprised please don't read.
There are a lot of things I don't understand about this series. It just doesn't add up. Anyway I liked it, but did not love it. And the ending was pretty anti-climatic and rushed without explanations and being in the throngs of battle.
And now I worry about Cameron. We don't have anything about him. What is he supposed to do now?

For some reason, Spark X held my attention better than Cinder X. I mean, how couldn't it when you're chanting, "They must be together! They must be together! F**k off, Cameron!", in your head? (Yes, I find myself swearing in my head, though keep it to a bare minimum in speaking them aloud.)
Anyway, it certainly improved on Cinder X. It was more exciting. It was shorter and...well...not sweeter, but it was better. Although I am unsure if I will reread this series, I can say that it certainly left an impressive lasting...well, impression.

This was a fantastic ending to a fantastic series! I've loved Jessica's work since the first book I read by her, which was actually Ember X. This book nailed it for me! I felt an immediate connection with Ember, (the leading Female role) I felt we shared some things in common. The characters were amazing and who they were , were amazingly detailed to get a sense of them. I just really loved this series and can't wait to read more by Jessica!

Overall great story and great ending to the series! Being a 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' fan, this story fell in the same "end-of-the-world saved by a strong college girl with special powers who was torn between two ethereal beings (good and evil) while fighting for her friends and family and saving the world" scenario! I was very happy that this book didn't contain the grammatical errors found in the 2nd. I don't regret reading it.
