The Fairy Godmother is a transcendent, quintessential radical. Her teachings are revolutionary. Touched by the Fairy Godmother prepare yourself for the metamorphosis she will bring to your life.
The Way of The Fairy Godmother will explore what is good and already working in our lives to savor. The seeds of enduring happiness reside in our Deepest Desires. The more harmony and beauty we notice the more harmony and beauty there is to notice. The synthesis of our deepest desires combined with a Golden Ladder, each rung an action, will concertize our dreams into the reality of everyday life.
The Way of The Fairy Godmother is a motivational self-help book focusing on reaching true happiness by acknowledging our Deepest Desires and working towards them through positive thinking and a change in our attitudes.
I’m a firm believer in positive thinking, and try to ensure it is a large part of my life. However, as I started reading this book, there was one negative thing niggling at the back of my mind. I wondered if me having ME/CFS would somehow get in the way of the advice this book gives. Imagine my surprise when early on in the book, Laura Hillenbrand, author of Seabiscuit, is mentioned and how she managed to write that book from her bed while also suffering from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. That was when this book had my full attention. I knew then that I was not going into this book about to be told that a bit of positive thinking was going to somehow cure my ME/CFS, but that we have the power to change our priorities. We can influence our success and happiness by focusing on the good things, rather than the bad things that appear to be getting in our way. We can make the most of our lives even if it isn't in the same way as we originally planned.
For instance, I’ve had ME/CFS since I was a teenager, getting particularly bad in my late 20s. It has stopped me learning to drive a car, and had an impact on my chosen career in mental health. However, I have always been a very motivated person, so I’ve never been very good at sitting around feeling sorry for myself, as it seems like such a waste of the one life I’ve been given. Clearly my career in mental health was not very likely, so I created a job for myself working from home. I now have a successful online business selling novelty craft buttons worldwide and have been doing this for over a decade now. Working from home means I can control how much or how little work I do on a daily basis, while also giving me a sense of purpose. Being at home all day has also meant we have been able to adopt two beautiful dogs that we wouldn’t have been able to have if my husband and I were both working full-time away from home. Our dogs have brought us so much joy over the years, so that is a good thing that has come out of my illness.
I was pleased to discover that I already do most things mentioned in this book, but it has directed my attention to a couple of things I need to work on. I love fairy tales, so linking the advice to The Fairy Godmother in Cinderella is a wonderful idea. I’ve never thought that deeply about the story of Cinderella, and certainly not about the character of The Fairy Godmother.
I’ve already decided who my Fairy Godmother equivalent is going to be – Falkor the luck dragon in The Neverending Story, as it is a story I fell in love with when I saw the film at a very young age.
Copied from IMDb: "Falkor is a luck dragon, a marvelous, feather/fur creature that saves Atreyu in the Fantasia land known as The Swamps of Sadness. Best known for his positive outlook, Falkor helps Atreyu with not only extra-fast flight, but with encouragement and hope. Falkor was one of the few survivors of The Nothing that almost consumed Fantasia, and was the subject of Bastian's very first wish to bring Fantasia back."
The Way of The Fairy Godmother is a fairly quick, easy read that I would recommend to anyone who enjoys self-help books, or thinks they require a bit of direction with regards to positive thinking and achieving true happiness.

The Way of the Fairy Godmother by Jennifer Moise is a self-help book aimed at aiding people in reaching the path of enduring happiness. She does this through relating challenge to the story of Cinderella and her Fairy Godmother. Instead of focusing on Cinderella, as most authors would, Moise choses to look at the Fairy Godmother, and her never-ending supply of optimism. Each chapter begins and ends with certain key things the reader must to do find their happiness. For example, Moise is very passionate about the reader finding their Deepest Desires. She urges us to focus on harmonizing our lives to look past the things we have maybe settled on to find the things we really want. Moise goes on to encourage the reader to follow a Proclamation, much as the prince issued in the story of Cinderella. What does the reader want most in their lives, and what are the key steps to achieving this goal? The book continues to delineate nine Keys to Happiness, all the while relating them back to the life of the Fairy Godmother. I found Moise’s usage of the Fairy Godmother to be unique, and not something I had seen done before in regards to self-help books. While the approach is different, she took something familiar and relatable (the fairy tale itself) to the reader, and this is a positive aspect of this book. I felt at times the book was repetitive, but I surmised that was a common thread to all self-help books: constant reminder of the goals the reader should strive to achieve. Overall, I can see how The Way of the Fairy Godmother by Jennifer Moise would help a person who might have lost sight of their optimism and life goals, and give them the means to rediscover what truly makes them happy.
I must admit that I wanted knowledge from Dr. Morse's book so desperately. Then, my eyesight was nearly lost after a fall down the basement stairs, resulting in me hitting the left side of my head on the concrete floor. So, I was trying desperately to read as best as I possibly could. I fell under the "Cinderella Syndrome", let's call it. I became irritated, causing me to feel jaded by this book. I thought "Great. Not another lesson on the law of attraction". I was about to write how I did not like the book as well as I anticipated. Then, I realized it was my attitude that was harming my happiness, not the book.
I just had to endeavour to reread it again, even though Netgalley had given me a free advance copy to read so I could give an honest review. I was not in a position to meet the deadline and fell under the evil spell most Disney witches try to throw at the heroine; not that I am implying that I am. The true heroine of this story is Dr. Morse, herself. I reread the book, regardless of the fact that it would take longer than I knew was expected. But, I am delighted that I did. Because, I found out that there is another book by Dr. Morse, "Awaiting the Fairy Godmother", as saw through the eyes of Cinderella. This book is perceived through the eyes of the Fairy Godmother. As Dr. Morse reminds us. "Fairytales are written for the purpose of implanting wisdom". After all, oral storytelling used to be the norm by generations past. It was handed down from father to son, etc.
What I cherished most about this book is that Dr. Morse wants us all to respond to the challenge of overcoming our complacency and stagnation, delve deep into ourselves and pull out our deepest desires. That, she says, is essential to achieve real happiness. Each chapter takes us step by step to act on our desires, doing something about becoming the happiest person you are supposed to be.
What was not entirely so appetizing to me was the repetition in the book. However, that is an important tool to be learned, or at least for me. Wax on, wax off. Trust me, however, that you will come away from this book transformed into a different person with goals and ambitions, and the willingness to act on those in order to find true happiness. If it did not belong to the Fairy Godmother showing up to chat with Cinderella, and pull out her deepest desires. Cindy may still be suffering hardship and stress, working herself into exhaustion. At least, this is how Dr. Morse tells it. She wants us all to rise up and become the best people we were meant to be.

The Way of The Fairy Godmother Kindle Edition by Jennifer Morse MS Ph.D. is a fantastic self-help motivational eBook that I really enjoyed reading.
Since 2013 when I decided to stop eating animals and animal products and adopting a plant based lifestyle I am in pursuit of two fundamental things, well for me anyway, my health and my happiness.
This book really helped me see aspects of my life where I was lacking motivation and also help me realize the things I need to improve and also adopt to improve further and elevate my happiness.
I loved the fact that the author differentiates the superficial happiness with the real one. Unfortunately, most of the people only have the superficial happiness, and the sad thing is that they think that happiness is just only that. I am not judging I used to be like that.
The writer actually managed to relate what it needs to achieve happiness by using as a media the Cinderella fairy tail. That was one, the other revolutionary for me is that instead of sticking with Cinderella as the hero it went 180 degrees and placed the Fairy Godmother as the hero in the book.
This fairy tail duo dynamic was a curious and energetic aspect that I really loved and kept me going until the end of the book.
I am sure I will have this book as a reference often when I am feeling that I am sidetracking for my happiness goals.
The nine keys of happiness that are presented I found them to be very useful and helpful to my search for happiness and also I felt so much more confident about life after reading this book.
The Way of the Fairy Godmother by Jennifer Morse is a self-help book aimed at improving your life and reaching lifelong happiness. It’s a fairly quick & easy read told through the story of Cinderella. Morse uses the Fairy Godmother & her positive-thinking attitude, each chapter contains key elements for the reader to find happiness and improved life.
I did find that some of the things in this book were a bit repetitive of other ‘self help’ novels but I really enjoyed the fairytale approach. I think the value of positive thinking and the effects it gives to ones life is vastly underrated and I can clearly see how this book would help someone target & refocus their life in a positive way. I would recommend this book to someone struggling to find happiness.

The Way of The Fairy Godmother Free gift from the author and I've read the other one that this one references. A book that will help you find your inner peace and find out your dreams and how to go get them. This book I can relate to on many levels as I've done a large majority of the things suggested on my own-it's cool seeing there is a trail that I've been on for so long. Explains things that we know about in real life examples: movies and how inner beauty is seen regardless of the outer beauty. Also Cinderella's journey and how things happened for her. Enjoyed the real examples of the exercises and how each chapter starts out with the purpose, and it's repeated at the end-summarizing it for us. Word spill - love this idea. whole book is summarized at the end with the nine keys to happiness. Something in here for eerybody to achieve their true happiness.
I chose this book without actually reading the description so I was a bit surprised with what I read. I don’t know if I completely agree what I read in the book but it definitely made me think about a lot of things.
I’m not a big fan of self-help books in general so I wasn’t surprised that I wasn’t super touched by this book and I didn’t really think that this book was something that could offer me anything or that I would need something to be happier or something like that.
This is book is not very long but what an interesting and unique to write a different type of self help book. I enjoyed this book very much. I also learned a lot from this book. I think it was very fun read and well written by Jennifer Morse. * I received this book from the author---this is my honest review*
This is a self-help book focusing on 8 keys to happiness based on the Cinderella story. The basic concepts are good enough, but I think she made up the story she used. It got a little too ethereal at times, and I couldn't get past the abysmal editing.
