Porsche 917 Owners' Workshop Manual 1969 onwards (all models): An insight into the design, engineering, maintenance and operation of Porsche's legendary sports-racing car
Today, the Porsche 917 is one of the most sought-after and revered classic sports-racing cars of all time. This manual provides a fascinating insight into the design, evolution, operation, maintenance and restoration of the Porsche 917.
The best sub-£20 alternative to the (mostly) expensive and now out of print books out there.
The book takes it to a perspective in the style of Haynes manuals, not covered in all other books such as ownership experiences. However, like all other books in the series, it suffers from it's usual flaws such as the excessively long and unnecessary intro (such as going past 1975, after its end of it's racing career) but, as mentioned, don't expect it to be in this level of those of (the late) Walter Naher's, who had an inside experience of the car.
I'd rank it on par above that of Peter Morgan's despite its flaws.
Recommend if you do not own Naher's book; if you do, you won't need it.
