Inspiring

Thinking about what we say before we speak it is a challenge, but knowing how powerful are words actually are... Well that's even more of a challenge.

This is an interesting and totally harmless book on how reading certain passages in The Bible, and interpreting them in an intelligent and convenient way can actually be quite beneficial for your health and overall well-being.

I liked the down-to-earth advice on being good to yourself, and all the wise words on recognizing the good and repelling the negative. This is a good book for a short domestic flight, and can also make a good Christmas gift for a devoted person.

Psst! I have a blog too! Take a look here: http://lunairereadings.blogspot.com

Having tried previous books about the mouth by Joyce Meyer I feel that this is her most encouraging book on this issue for the Christian and those who want good things to happen in their own lives.
Power Words explains clearly how to improve the lives we lead according to the Bible and this is reinforced by the appendices at the end of the book which give scriptures for Confessions from the Word of God, Scriptures to remind you of the Power of your words and Scriptures on the Power of confessing God's Word.
I recommend this book to those who love God.
I was given this book by Netgalley and the publisher. This is my voluntary review.

I give this more than 5 stars! Joyce Meyer has done it again with Power Words. At first when I started reading this book I thought it wasn't for me because I don't have a problem with my mouth but the more I read the more I realized I did need this book! I highly recommend this book rather you have a problem with your mouth or not. I read everything Joyce Meyer writes and this will be another one I will be adding to my home library. I highly recommend this book.

*I received this book from NetGalley for my honest review.

The book is exactly what the title says. The author mixes personal stories with biblical references about the power of words. I actually found it most interesting just how many references the Bible has on the proper and improper use of words. The author, for me, brought to light passages heard before but whose meaning were never clear. I believe that to grow in spirituality one must continue to seek out deeper understanding of your faith throughout your life. This book helps accomplish that.

Joyce Meyer never fails to impress me with her writing. I loved listening to this on audiobook, I zoomed through it as I was painting and walking my dog. This book taught me the power of my words and about all the beautiful blessing to be thankful about. I look forward to listening/reading more from her and other Christian authors

This book was confirmation to what my pastor teaches. But it helped me to even the more watch my words and only speak what YHWH speaks. I already have seen the significant changes in my life and will continue to speak the word of YHWH and nothing else.

Joyce Meyer in her new book, “Power Words” published by Faithwords gives us What You Say Can Change Your Life.

From the back cover: Little changes can make a world of difference.

Simply by choosing to talk more optimistically about your circumstances, you can unlock the power of positivity in your life and achieve the amazing things God has in store for you.

Joyce Meyer, #1 New York Times bestselling author, wants to help you understand how everything is affected by the words you use: your attitude, your sense of joy, and even your success. She explains that when you align your word with God’s Word, all aspects of your life change for the better. You become more peaceful, hopeful, and positive about your future. Joyce reveals how her own life was transformed by changing the way she spoke, while guiding you through advice and scripture that will help you realize the same result.

The good news is God wants to give you the strength you need to beat fear and live courageously. That’s why He tells you repeatedly throughout the Bible to “fear not” because He is with you.

You don’t have to live under the burden of negativity. POWER WORDS will show you how to achieve limitless joy by learning to speak in agreement with God. Use POWER WORDS to start living His best life for you today!

Let’s think about it for a moment, Jesus told us whatever we said we would have. Think what that means: we speak bad things then that is what we have. We speak negative things then that is what we have. That means we speak good things then that is what we have. Better to speak the good things then don’t you agree? Joyce Meyer has written this book to help us watch what we speak. Ms. Meyer has divided her teaching into five parts. Part One: The Power Of Your Words, Part Two: Changing Your Words Is Part Of Spiritual Growth, Part Three: Right Words Will Help You Make it Through The Middle, Part Four: Let Your Words Work For You Not Against You, Part Five: Your Words Can Determine Your Future. We all need some positive help to watch what we are saying. This is a great book to do that. You might want to hold it in a special place on your shelf as you might be referring to it again to refresh yourself with these truths. This is also a great book to give as gifts to family and friends. They will think of you every time they put it to use. I recommend it highly.

Moving, inspirational guidance for everyday living — this is my summation of Joyce Meyer’s Power Words. Inside this handbag friendly tome, you will find a wealth of Biblical verses broken down into everyday-speak by a clearly humble, down-to-earth Christian who is sharing her journey with us to help us all move down the divine path together.

“God’s healing power is working in me and every day I get better and better in every way.” I also focus on speaking about my progress, and not merely how far I have to go.

“If you ever do feel you are truly having some type of problem with your mind, pray about it and then start speaking good things about your mental capacity so your future can be different from what your past has been. The apostle Paul told Timothy that God had given him a spirit of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).”

“As believers, we learn to “see with the eye of faith.” In other words, we believe what God says even more strongly than what we see or feel, and we speak accordingly.”

You will not be sorry that you took the time to read this little book. Be careful! Its size is deceptive. While you can easily breeze through the reading, take the time to let certain chapters, passages, and/or verses digest before moving on.

You can hear for yourself about Ms. Meyer’s thoughts about prayer and words of power.

Because so many of Joyce Meyer's books are backed up by the Bible and her own personal experience, they are always good books to turn to to address any problems in your life, or to turn to for encouragement.

Lately, I had fallen into a habit of complaining more than I should mostly about my job. While I knew that what Joyce was saying in this book was true, and in the past I had always tried to find some good things in my day, I fell out of that and really needed a push in the right direction. Joyce Meyer to the rescue!

I used this book as a morning devotional, so I could have a chapter or two to dwell on during the day. I have found that's sometimes a better approach for me when I really need to spend extra time on a certain subject and not get to the end and find while the book was valuable, I really am not practicing anything.

I think everyone can find things in the book that will add to your spiritual growth. It isn't a big book. I highly recommend it.
