Agnes and Eleanor embark on a honeymoon cruise with their new husbands, Andrew and Mr. Wilson. There are plenty of other Tawas residents along for the ride, although the newlyweds don’t realize this until they set out to sea. But the presence of the locals sets the stage for much drama to unfold … For instance, there’s a crime … Agnes and Eleanor find the body of a woman, but wait ... the body disappears before the ship’s security and Captain Hamilton show up. To further complicate matters, there’s a question of whether the woman was even really dead. But none of these details detour Agnes and Eleanor as they hone in on some very goon-like men, Ricky and Leo, to help them get to the bottom of what really happened. Will the women ever be able to figure out what really transpired, or will this be the one case they won't be able to solve?
When Madison Johns began writing at the age of forty-four, she never imagined she'd make it onto the USA Today best-selling books list with her first cozy mystery, Armed and Outrageous, as an independent author. Sure, this book is an Amazon bestseller, but USA Today?
Although sleep-deprived from working third shift, she knew if she used what she had learned while caring for senior citizens to good use, it would result in something quite unique. The Agnes Barton Senior Sleuths mystery series has forever changed Madison's life, with each of the books making it onto the Amazon bestseller's list for cozy mystery and humor.
Madison is a member of Sisters In Crime. Madison is now able to do what she loves best and work from home as a full-time writer. She has two children, a black lab, and a hilarious Jackson Chameleon to keep her company while she churns out more Agnes Barton stories with a few others brewing in the pot. Books

I read in the Author information that she tries to write a book a month. Maybe that's the reason for the errors in spelling and sentence structure. Regardless, it entertained me. I purchased it because of the cruise ship setting, and the older couple of sleuths sounded cute.
Two women in their 70's have a double wedding and then go on a cruise for their honeymoon with their respective husbands. Agnes Barton and Eleanor Mason live in Tawas, Michigan where they are investigators. On the cruise, they are confronted with what appears to be a murder and investigate. I won't go into any more detail to avoid spoilers. I found the plot rather thin and the novel was filled with descriptions of life on a cruise ship, conversations that had nothing to do with the plot, and a few bawdy jokes. It's not a bad novel if you like this type of book, but I am not tempted to read any more by this author.
This is a cute, easy read. That is why they label this a cozy mystery. If you are looking for a hard core mystery with plot twists and deep characters then you need to look elsewhere.
If, however, you are looking for a happy and entertaining set of characters in a light heart romp, then Eleanor and Agnes are your girls! I love these two senior characters, and having worked with seniors, I know that these antics are only slightly unrealistic.
This is an enjoyable, cozy mystery. So make a cup of tea, sit back, relax and enjoy your read!!
Fun and Intriguing book in this series. It was as quirky and interesting as the other books in the series. The unique and curious characters make it an adventure.
While as always the characters made me laugh the plot sometimes contained unrealistic actions. If you want a sometimes funny, quick read this will fulfill that goal.
I can't wait for book 8!!!! I tell all my friends about Madison and her great books. I just love Agnes and Eleanor, they give me hope for when I'm in my 70's I still have a lot to live. Thanks Madison will be looking forward to more adventures. Great writing keeps you interested from the beginning.
This seemed more like a busy body book than a real who done it. She was never sure what she was really trying to solve. Some of the characters were just in the way. Although you still had to know what was really going on. I felt a bit sorry for the husbands. Not my favorite, but good. Will read the next one.
Sleuthing has never been as fun as when these two girls do it. Agnes and Eleanor sure have a nose for trouble and get themselves into all sorts of messes as they try to figure out their mysteries. Who says older folks can't have exciting lives? Just ask Andrew and Mr Wilson.
I just can't get enough of this series. Agnes and Eleanor are the best senior sleuths. If you haven't read this series,I highly recommend you do. Lots of action. Madison Johns does a great job keeping you guessing who did it all the way to the end.
I enjoyed reading this book...Only took me 2days...It just moved me along so fast..These older women can get Into all kinds of trouble... they all ways come out on top...
This was an enjoyable cozy mystery. I am going on a cruise in September so it was interesting to read about the cruise that these two ladies were enjoying while in the midst of investigating a mystery on their honeymoons - both married at the same time - what are the odds??
From the wrong luggage, pimps and stollen money, Agnes and Eleanor don't find their honeymoons calm and peaceful. With Tawas people one deck below, there is constant action from this great author!
The main thing I have learned about the Senior Sleuths is that while they're over-the-top in unrealistic details, they are so much crazy fun that I always want more.
Great fun. As an older person I am happy to see older people portrayed with brains living their lives as if she was just a number and not a death sentence.
Honestly, after the last two disappointing books in this series, I almost didn't read this one. How glad am that I persevered! This is Johns at her best, back in form.
It's a no-brainier read, filled with a few too many grammatical errors. Are there any good editors in today's literary world? The story is okay, predictable ending.
