What she never expects is for Detective Bronx Daniels to dredge up images of their shared past life and challenge the foundation of her future. In the wide open spaces of the Arizona desert, Madelyn and Bronx are forced to rely upon each other for survival as they race to save the abducted boys from the will of a madman. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Maggie grew up listening to Cardinals baseball and reading anything she could get her hands on. She remembers her mother saying if only she would read the right type of books instead binging her way through the romance aisles at the bookstore, she’d have been a doctor. While Maggie never did get that doctorate, she graduated cum laude from the University of Missouri-St. Louis with an M.A. in History.
Maggie is a bestselling and award-winning author published in multiple fiction genres. She also writes erotic romance under the name Anya Summers. A total geek at her core, when she is not writing, she adores attending the latest comic con or spending time with her family. She currently lives in the Midwest with her two furry felines.
Psychic Madelyn "Maddie" Rose is called to the Navaho Reservation in Arizona to help find five missing boys. Arizona is the last place she wants to be because it is the place of her only failure and the place she foresees her death. Detective Bronx Daniels has to work with Maddie, who is brought in by the Tribal Counsel. He is reluctant to believe in her abilities even though he knows they exist as he has forsaken his role as Medicine Man for his tribe, but he will do anything and use anyone to find the boys. Bronx promises to protect Maddie, but their shared past lives seem to be repeating themselves and Maddie could soon be dead again.
This book has three intertwining threads, the romance between present day Maddie and Bronx, the past lives romance between Jasmine and Thunder Eagle and the present day abduction mystery. All of this is handled very well by Ms. Gallagher. She moves seamlessly from one plot point to another in a well designed sequence of events. The characters are three dimensional and the sex is hot. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series!

This book was fantastic! The prologue itself was so intense that it got me hooked right away, and the story as a whole turned out to be a masterpiece. There were so many great elements to this book. I loved the reincarnation, and how it brought two fascinating stories together. The history and spirits were very interesting, and added a lot of depth to the characters and their experiences. There was a lot of research put into this book, and it shows. Bronx was an amazing hero. He has been hurt in the past, and has many regrets, and watching him open up gradually was very moving. Getting to know Maddie was very emotional too. What a strong heroine. Not only has she survived some very terrible experiences, but her special abilities make her very strong and powerful. The two of them together makes it impossible to put this book down. Everything that Maggie Mae Gallagher put in Remember Me fit perfectly. Everything I mentioned earlier, plus the kidnapping and murder mysteries make this a must-read. It starts off strong, and doesn't stop. It doesn't take long to get attached to the wonderful characters, and before you know it, you are experiencing all of their emotions, good and bad. I hope to see more of these characters, and if you haven't met them yet, be sure you do. I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
Wild and captivating read. Great suspense! Two stories going at the same time, the search for five kidnapped little boys and flashbacks to a previous life for the psychic searching for a kidnapper. Very hard to put down! Included another interest of mine with a native American detective and bits of Navajo culture.
I received this book from the author in exchange for my honest opinion. Remember Me is a romance about a psychic named Madelyn, aka Maddie, and Detective Bronx Daniels. Detective Daniels hire Maddie to help in a kidnapping case involving five young boys, including his nephew, who are taken from their beds in the middle of the night. At the urging of the parents of the boys, Maddie agrees to use her abilities to communicate with the spirit world to help find the boys. She travels to Arizona, and ignores her recurring nightmares about dying in the desert. When she arrives, she can’t help but notice a strong attraction to Bronx every time she touches him. She is able to see a vision of her past life with an Indian named Thunder Eagle. She can’t help but wonder if Bronx and Thunder Eagle are the same person and if it explains her sudden attraction to Bronx. The main focus of the story is the attraction between Maddie and Bronx, though both of them are dealing with personal issues that keep them from opening up to each other. Maddie was an outcast within her family and was treated terribly as a child because no one understood her gifts. She doesn’t trust many people because of her experiences. Bronx is an outcast among his Indian tribe because he turned his back on his medicine man training and left home at eighteen without saying goodbye to his family. Upon returning to the reservation, the tribe distances themselves from Bronx and shun him. Bronx accepts that he is not welcome, but stays to do what he can for the community. He has also been betrayed by a woman that cost him his job with the FBI. While the personal drama between the characters is interesting, but I felt there was an imbalance between all the story lines. Instead of pacing the romance and the past life flashbacks between the search for the missing children, the story finds every excuse to focus on the romance rather than the crime in progress. The characters constantly say that they have to look for the children, but spend more time gazing at each other lustfully. The story is almost at the half-way point before Maddie even visits one of the abduction sites. I had a hard time focusing on the sexual tension knowing that time was ticking on the abduction case. Even when Maddie finally starts searching for the children, a major obstacle enters the storyline, further delaying the investigation. On top of that, Bronx’s trust issues cause him to ignore a vital lead that Maddie fins when she sees an Indian spirit who presumably wants to help her. Bronx keeps saying that he will do anything to save his nephew, but ignores a potential lead. I had trouble accepting Bronx’s reasons for a number of things he did, but this goes against the main reason that Maddie was hired to help on the case. I liked the elements of the story, but wished they had been arranged better. Bronx’s self-loathing slows down the pace of the story and the characters don’t actually find out about each other’s personal issues until the last quarter of the book. I felt that his outcast status within the tribe could have been better expressed during the interviews of all the families, instead of the constant mental self-loathing. I also felt that his distrust of women due to a dubious untrustworthy woman was not enough to warrant the walls that he put around himself. Ms. Gallagher had all the pieces of a great story, but I wanted a better balance between the action, the romance, and the past life visions. Had there not been a time sensitive crime to deal with, the story would have been more enjoyable. I liked the sexual tension between the characters, but felt like I was constantly telling them to focus on their reason for working together. I gave the story 3.5 stars and hope the next installment in the series is able to blend all the elements together to create a seamless story.
I really enjoyed Remember Me by Maggie Mae Gallagher. Madelyn is brought in as a psychic to help find kidnapped boys on an Indian Reservation. Little does she know it will bring her face to face with someone from a past life and a vision of her death in the present. With the boys life in her hands, she must deal with the past whose name in This life is Bronx. Bronx is the head detective on the Indian Reservation.his nephew is amongst the missing boys. The author does a great job going between past and present without losing the reader.
This is the first book in the Mystic Series and it is amazing. Maggie Mae Gallagher manages to weave a story of intrigue, danger and past life remembrance into this story as if it’s water traveling through a quite stream. The story blends and flows, unraveling before your eyes so eloquently it will hold you captive. I couldn’t help falling in love with Maddie’s and Bronx’s story. It even made me cry.
Opening Scene:
A split second decision had changed the course of her life.
The Review:
Madelyn Rose is a world renowned psychic, after accepting a missing children case on the Navajo Reservation, she believes it will be another open and shut case. What she doesn’t expect is her shared past life with Detective Bronx Daniels, to be dredged up with images and challenges for her very future. In the wide open spaces of the Arizona desert, Madelyn and Bronx are on a race against time to find the missing boys, while avoiding a madman and relying on each other for their very survival. With her life on the line, will Madelyn risk it all for a love that crosses time?
Notable Scene:
“What? Were you expecting a crystal ball and broomstick?” “No, not at all.” She could practically hear him grind his teeth. Maddie called bullshit and from the looks of it, this case was going to bite the big one. Thinking of the kids, she swallowed her misgivings about accepting this case and her not so stellar beginning with Detective Daniels. “It’s nice to meet you, Detective, Madelyn Rose at your service.” She held out her hand and stepped forward. The silver bangle bracelets on her arm jangled as she craned her neck to glance up into brown eyes that reminded her of molten dark chocolate they were so dark a brown. His large callused hand enveloped hers. Sucking in a breath as the vision hit her, she felt her belly drop through the floor and panic engulfed her. No. It couldn’t be. She tried retracting her hand from his but he wouldn’t release her. The images she had dodged, the dreams that had haunted her existence, coalesced in this moment. An avalanche of tremors shook her soul. Her knees were seconds from giving out at the contact. It took everything Maddie had inside not to whimper.

Psychic Madelyn Rose is asked to help solve a missing children case on a Navajo reservation in Arizona. Although she foresees her own death (along with other disturbing visions) when she touches the detective in charge of the case, Bronx Daniels, she stays to find the missing boys. Will she also find love, or will she lose her life?
Overall, I really liked this book. The storyline was new and intriguing, if slightly predictable, and the characters (both reincarnations) were likeable and easy to connect with. I also found Gallagher's use of various spiritual tools and practices to be, with my limited knowledge, appropriate and accurate.
The one thing that keeps me from giving this book a 4 star review (or higher) was the overwhelming presence of grammatical errors. I found the frequent misspelling, misuse of words (the one that stands out is the use of "unrequited" to mean "unfulfilled", rather than it's true meaning "unreturned"), sentence structure issues, and mixing up "their" and "there" to be highly distracting.
As far as the storyline itself is concerned, I was pleased with this novel, and the author has a lot of promise.
A Native American sheriff was trying to run away from his mystic beginnings. A psychic who has been hired by the tribal Council to come in and try to find five missing boys. They must work together to try to find the boys . A slightly antagonistic relationship between the two, overridden by the fear of what will happen to these children. Their relationship, and their histories, are fascinating. Dealing with the desert of Arizona adds to the story. I was shocked to see that there are only 11 comments on this book. It is a really good read. I read it through in one sitting. I could not force myself to do anything else until I found out how the story ended . Do yourself a favor, read this book!
What a fantastic read! The characters were vividly imagined, with a rich backstory that slowly reveals itself through two sets of parallel lives. I loved how the present cut into the past through the psychic vision, and how the love story between her and Bronx - or is it Jasmine and Thunder Eagle? - develops. Bronx is mouth-wateringly hot, Madelyn Rose is adorable, and together they make a couple we want to root for from page one. I also appreciated the level of mystery and suspense. It is well paced, with great foreshadowing and clues dropped along the way, but it kept me guessing all the way to the end. An ending which can only be described as a satisfying full circle.
This story was equal parts dark and light. It was a real freaking crime novel with some paranormal spiritual voodoo mixed in. I was a little mad at how long it took the hero to stop being a jerk but if it was too easy it wouldn't have been as a good a story. I especially liked the past life story they shared. Like true love has echoes throughout history until we can get it right. A beautiful thought is a scary tale of murder, kidnapping, psychics, spirit walkers, and sassy jeans. Pretty great story.
Finding what you need when you least expect it-- I very much enjoyed the story from the beginning. A 'respected' psychic helping a skeptical sheriff find something very dear to him, both overcoming their prejudices and the walls they have built to protect themselves to find what they both needed to make their lives complete.
I liked the historical elements, but the problem with a main character who's a psychic is that the author tends to do whatever she wants, as though there are no rules in the psychic world. I don't agree with this. I think it could have benefitted from a couple more edits, and some beta reader opinions.
I was not ready for the end of this book! I mean, logically I knew it was coming, but the abrupt return to reality when the words stopped was jarring. I also really liked the smooth transitions from past, present and future. They were done with an eye to keep the story flowing and were seamlessly woven in to create an enchanting story I was reluctant to put down.
If you like psychic' s and Indians you will adore this story. It has heartache, love, mystery and hope. The characters are well developed and draw you in. I enjoyed spending time in this glorious work. I received a free copy for an honest review.
