3.5 - "I want time to stand still... I don't want to lose this moment." Stars.
Not sure if its because I read book one an age ago, but Spellbound was a bit disjointed for me, and maybe it is because I couldn't remember a lot of what had happened previously. Loved Iain and the shenanigans he and that rest of the MacGregor clan got up to, and Jane and him together for the most part were sweet and funny.
Easy enough too read, plenty of insta-goodness, kilts and giggles, and I still want to see the rest of the MacGregors get their happily ever afters.

Still a good series but just a little slow and sometimes it sounds exactly like the previous books. The whole my family hates my mate thing is a little weird. I still enjoyed it because I liked how our main female character can listen and see ghosts.

Spellbound is the second book in the fun and extremely witty Warlocks MacGregor series and if you have a thing for magic and men in kilts then these books will surely gladden your heart and brighten even the dullest day. Ive been a fan of this author since I first discovered her sci fi Dragon Lords series so reading these stories about hot men in kilts filled with mayhem and magic, plus sexy times really appealed to me!
First I have to say although this book charts the romance of fun loving Iain MacGregor (whose magic just seems to keep getting away frm him) and Jane who has her own unique gifts ( not to mention sad history) it's a story dominated by the most mischievous and meddling clan you could ever meet! Yes these MacGregirs really do roar ! You will roll your eyes, gasp at the sheer affrontery and laugh out loud. If light hearted romance coupled with paranormal elements and mystery appeal to you then try this series and discover for yourself just why this author is an auto buy for so many readers.

Both of the main characters in this book are up to their ears in secrets, plants and magic. This is the second book in Michelle M. Pillow’s Warlocks MacGregor series. Iain is a warlock and Jane is a gardener who can see ghosts. From this premise Ms. Pillow gifts us another fun and very funny book about this clan who have come to establish themselves in a small town in Wisconsin. The main story is as great as all the others I have read by this prolific writer but the side stories are also given a good part of the book. We see what has happened to the characters from the first book and and meet the people from the clan and the town. This is one of the things I like best about this writers work as I like to read series that don’t solely concentrate on one couple per volume in a series. I like to have an overall story and get the feeling that I am immersing myself in the same community with each volume. You could definitely read this book without reading the first one but trust me if you do that you will just want to go back so give yourself a break and read them in order.

I enjoyed this second entry into the Warlocks MacGregor series. It was complex and included the sexy Scottish warlocks. The antics of the MacGregor family were still laugh out loud funny but they were starting to get very juvenile by the end of the book. There was enough evil in this book to satisfy the drama but it did take much too long to get to the information about the evil. Dragging it out so far into the book caused more confusion than suspense. I still enjoyed the entire book and I loved the ending. I will be continuing to read this series.

The MacGregor family is fantastically hysterical! Close knit and full of hijinks..I couldn’t quit laughing! I’d say poor Jane, but she fit perfectly into the family chaos!
If you want a relatively lighthearted, comedic paranormal romance, definitely check the MacGregor family series out!

I love this series. I have read it out of order, but I don't feel lost or enjoy it any less. In this book the MacGregor man we focus on is Ian. He meets a woman name Jane and he is instantly drawn to her. Never mind his mother thinks she is up to no good. Jane is anything but trouble. She actually thinks she's dying. She sees ghosts and her whole life doctors can't figure out what's wrong with her. Then the truth that she didn't know comes out and it turns out Ian is just what she needs. I loved how Ian was willing to go against everything his family thought and trust his heart with Jane. Their story is fun, adventurous, swoon worthy and so much more. If you haven't started this series, do it now! This narrator has the perfect voice to give you all the swoony feels.

I liked it a lot more than the first story and it certainly move much more quickly. Hopefully the series continues to get better and better.

I found the beginning very confusing between the antics of the MacGregors, the ghosts and the old woman! The last half of the story made more sense and was enjoyable!

Perfect title. Second book in the MacGregor series. Absolutely entertaining. I love how cool and calm our death-accepting Jane Turner is. Having been dealt illness her entire life, Jane just loves her plants and wants to be left alone. Learning more about her is what makes this story a fascinating read. Her encounter with Iain is just amusing. These MacGregors are just hilarious with their antics. Just a lovable bunch and I like that the author distinguishes the sibling hierarchy. With 6 children, it can be confusing the birth sequence. I have to say my favorite part is the scene with her mother. A lot can be read into that scene instead of the superficial meaning.

For me magic is a series filled with spell wielding magical ancient Druids now in the present, (whose whole clan has settled on a small American town, ) spellbinding jot romance , some danger, and lots of fun.
Loved the first in the series "Love Potions" and couldn't wait for this second book Spellbound.
Ian is another drool over hunky Scottish Druid who like his brother, Eric, finds himself drawn to the lovely Jane. Not so easily won over he finds a way of bringing her into her life by hiring her to work the landscape on the MacGregors new estate. The is something odd about Jane, she is. Or totally. Human and his family picks up on that. Jane is not even sure what it is that makes her different, seeing ghosts just isn't normal.
A wonderful story/adventure. Love the whole crazy family, like a typical huge clan living under the same route only their pranks involve lots of funny spells, magic and some running naked in the woods.
Highly suggest treating yourself to Book 1, Love Potions, and then continue the awesome series with this book, hoping book three isn't far behind. Lots of hot steamy romance, excitement, loads of Dun and humor, adventure mixed with some suspenseful situations , and a whole family of hunky magic spell wielding Druid cousins and siblings making mayhem and waiting for their stories to be told. For me a magical read is a series filled with spell wielding magical ancient Druids now in the present, (whose whole clan has settled on a small American town, ) spellbinding jot romance , some danger, and lots of fun.

Book 2 !!! I feel like I've waited forever for this book to come out!! I was so freaking excited when I finally loaded up my kindle and saw it sitting on my home screen.
Welcome back to the MacGregor family! Iain MacGregor is a the charm you right out of your panties warlock that isn't really looking for love. As he parades around town in his kilts blowing his bagpipes, he parades right past his future and then scares her away! LOL- Iain the charmer has a girl running from him! The worst of it? The whole of his clan knows-smh! This ensure some seriously LOL moments that I just couldn't contain.
As for Jane, she thinks she's living on borrowed time and in a way she is, just not in the way she thought. When Jane spies Iain it's instant attraction but she doesn't want the entanglement since she has limited time. The fact that he has the gardens she wants doesn't help this attraction. Slowly Jane comes to realize she has to grab life by the horns and enjoy life while she has it!
These two seem like an odd match at first but they truly compliment each other and I just ate their story up in no time! I'm eagerly anticipating the next book in the series and can't wait to see which MacGregor bites the dust next!

Loved this book. It is the second in this series. I love the humor in this story. The clan are always pulling pranks on each other, hilarious. The love story is cute too. The elder men are a riot. I look forward to the next book in this series. Can't wait. I highly recommend this series to anyone interested in a good laugh and a cute love story.

Loved it! I love the alpha men, the setting, the characters, all of it. I love this series! The book is fun and cute with enough suspense to keep it going. This modern-setting paranormal romance is a real winner.

Jane had a very sickly childhood growing up. She had a mysterious illness that was killing her. The doctors told her she had a year to live but she has proved them wrong. Since she left her childhood home to move to Wisconsin, she has been a lot better. She has even fulfilled her dream of owning her own nursery.
Being so sick as a child has made her uncomfortable in social situations so she prefers to blend in. She doesn't want to get too close to anyone so they won't be too sad when she goes crazy or dies. Yes, even though she feels better she is troubled by ghosts and very strange dreams. She keeps hearing bagpipe music and being transported to a meadow she has never seen before. One day she follows the music to town when the whole clan of MacGregors are marching through. She sees one MacGregor that she can't keep her eyes off from. The MacGregors are escorting Eirick on the way to his love's Lydia to propose. Iain MacGregor, the one she was so drawn to comes over to Jane to talk to her. He offers her a job relandscaping the MacGregor's estate which is her dream job. However working for the MacGregors throws her into some weird situations.
Iain MacGregor is still trying to recover from an evil spell. He woke up in a preservative casket. The first time he saw Jane, he felt like he had seen her before. When he touches her hand, he feels like she is meant to be his. He will do whatever it takes to keep Jane by his side. However his mother calls her evil and his aunt says she is tainted by death. His family is doing everything to keep them apart. Somehow he will have to convince them Jane is his true love and isn't a danger to the family.

SPELL BOUND is the second story in Michelle Pillow's Warlocks MacGregor series. I have read many of Ms Pillow's Qurilixen stories and I especially enjoyed the Lords of Var and Dragon Lords series. , While not having the depth and plot of the Qurilixen stories this one is worth reading if you're looking for a fun and entertaining story. Get ready for some wild kilt wearing hunks and a story that doesn't take itself too seriously. This book can be read as a standalone.
The Macgregors are a centuries old Scottish clan of warlocks who need to relocate frequently to keep their secrets safe from mortals. The MacGregor Clan recently moved into their new home. Ian Macgregor becomes enchanted when he meets one of the citizens of the town and decides to hire her to help with the landscaping. Jane is not interested in a relationship but can't deny the Scot is attractive and the opportunity to work on the landscape at the mansion has been a dream if hers since she moved to Green Vallis.
Get ready for some crazy antics from these wild Scotsmen and humorous misunderstandings, romantic failures and a few ulterior motives. Don't forget to laugh. There are some naked races with bagpipes along with a few steamy scenes.

I have to admit, I've actually been reading these books out of order. BUT, with the wisdom of a best selling author, I have never been lost. Michelle M Pillow always adds the right amount of backstory for her books to be read as standalones or in series. I prefer & recommend series everytime and this is no different.
Spellbound is Iain & Jane's story and it's a hysterical, magickal and frustrating ride. I feel sorry for Jane at first, then I quickly want to be her. She is destined to die and has come to terms with it. She decides to move and opens up her own landscaping business. During a marriage proposal procession of the MacGregor clan, she catches the eye & heart of Iain. And that, as they say, is that. OR IT SHOULD BE, BUT SADLY NOTHING IS THAT EASY IF YOU'RE A MACGREGOR.
The mistrust of outsiders I can understand up to a point. The sons need to find love and carry on the family name & magick with little MacGregor's running around for Pete's sake.
The hysterical laughter that ensues while reading the brothers pranks & tricks & such will have your dog running scared & even your adult children looking at you like you're nuts. At least that's what my Chihuahua & son did.
Everything does work itself out in the end and when you get off this wild ride, you want to hop right back on for the next sexy MacGregor wild ride. 100% without a doubt recommended!

Another humorous read, full of the MacGregors and their capers….
This is a wonderful read and I loved every page of the book and the characters are simply wonderful and the MacGregor men are absolutely wonderful and I know that you will enjoy every page of this book filled with laughter and mischief.
Jane had not had good health since she had been young and is enjoys running her own landscaping business and she has the ability to see ghosts and spirits which she has always thought was because she was walking a fine line between life and death herself and this has connected her to these otherworldly spirits.
Iain MacGregor is an ancient warlock and head of his clan and he has been able to feel attraction towards Jane however they seem to have a magical connection that draws them together. They spend their days in mischief and in laughter, they play pranks and laugh and play jokes on each other and I loved every bit of this book.
I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read.

This is a wonderful read and I loved every page of the book and the characters are simply wonderful and the MacGregor men are absolutely wonderful and I know that you will enjoy every page of this book filled with laughter and mischief.
Jane had not had good health since she had been young and is enjoys running her own landscaping business and she has the ability to see ghosts and spirits which she has always thought was because she was walking a fine line between life and death herself and this has connected her to these otherworldly spirits.
Iain MacGregor is an ancient warlock and head of his clan and he has been able to feel attraction towards Jane however they seem to have a magical connection that draws them together. They spend their days in mischief and in laughter, they play pranks and laugh and play jokes on each other and I loved every bit of this book.
I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read.

In Spellbound, Iain and Jane find their attraction is undeniable, but the MacGregor magic makes romance with a human difficult at best. Jane has her own secrets though – secrets that Iain might be just the man she needs to help her get to the bottom of. As always with the McGregors we have the humor and hijinks of a large, loving family, surprising twists and turns, and the romance and warmth of real, true love. There are some interesting supernatural twists to Spellbound, as well as some very mundane turns. If you’ve read a MacGregor romance you already know this has to be a rollicking must-read adventure, but if you haven’t rest assured that you cannot go wrong with these thrilling romantic adventures, and you also don’t have to read the books in order to fall in love with the MacGregors. I loved Iain as a hero, and his determination to be with Jane despite everything, and Jane’s willingness to look to the future, came together as a fantastic journey to read about. The end was perfect, with fun and family and answers and a believable and enjoyable happy ever after. Spellbound is definitely another MacGregor win!

I loved this story! It’s full of twists and turns, romance, steam, falling madly in love and the laugh out loud moments of the MacGregor family antics which for me made it a recommended read with a 5 star rating. I had to keep reading until the end, a definite page turner which kept me entertained from the first page.
Jane Turner loved her plants and nature and had an infinity with them, Whatever she touched seemed to blossom and bloom but she also had a problem and that problem was she could see ghosts. She had also been told by consultants that she was living on borrowed time.
Iain MacGregor was a Warlock and Magik which was matched to nature. When Jane and Iain first met and touched, things started to happen. They were both attracted to each other, then to put a dampener on things her step-brother turned up to say her step-mother had died. Jane’s mother had disappeared when she was a baby and once her father had died, her step-mother had spent all her inheritance so Jane had moved away to make a new life for herself.
I won’t say anymore as it would spoil the plot but you definitely have to read this story, it’s really fast paced and keeps you glued to the story until the very end.
I cannot wait to read the next instalment.

Iain Macgregor is drawn to a certain woman who doesn't react well to him much to his brothers amusement.
Mystery seems to surround Jane who has a strange past and doesn't want to get involved with the handsome man.
His magic is stronger around her but his family warns him against any sort of relationship..
Can they discover her true origins and see what fate has in store for them?
Another brilliant Macgregor story that sees instant attraction for both the main characters.
I enjoyed the plot and the shocks which occur during the read with truth coming to light.
A destined sort of relationship between two souls who are already a part of each other.
Written with humor and emotion that spreads from the pages like a warmth.
A direct hit with its romance and danger that keeps the reader longing for more.
Uncle Railbeart is a much needed character as always who succeeds in drawing attention away from the serious.

Iain is marching in the group with Erik to propose to Lydia, and sees Jane, the nursery owner. He thinks he knows her, and they're instantly attracted to each other. She gets a landscaping job doing the mansion. Her stepbrother, Sean, arrives in town unexpectedly, wanting to have dinner and asks questions about her birth mother. Margareta takes an instant disliking to Jane, whereas the male elders love her, especially Raibert. Jane thinks she's dying because she's been sickly her entire life, the doctors can't figure out what's wrong, she sees ghosts, and she hallucinates. She has an amazing green thumb, too.
It was great learning more of the MacGregor Clan; the elders are hilarious. I wished we could've seen more of Erik and Lydia.

This is such a wonderful story to listen to. The characters are very well done. This is the second book in the series. So we get great Information about the MacGregors. Plus all their fun little idiosyncrasies. Iain’s family is so much fun to watch and listen to.
Both of the main characters are done well. We learn about them as the story moves along. Jane is reserved and who wouldn’t be after the non welcome from Iain’s mother. I am not surprised she ran from him.
As the secondary characters....I LOVE this family! Each one alone just puts a smile on my face and together they make me laugh. What a crazy delightful family to be involved in. The brother and sister shenanigans vs the older adults and I can’t decide which I love more.
I listened to the on audio. The narrator is simply wonderful to listen to. When he (as the character) gets going in Scottish that is wonderful for my ears. I LOVE listening to him!

Jane isn't expecting to live long. Doing a job she loves, and paying down her debts is keeping her content in the here and now.
Iain knows his clan is large, boisterous... prone to pranks. He didn't think they'd try and stand between him and the one he was drawn to.
This done in one book is a rollercoaster of sorts. Each time I thought I'd figured out the whodunit style aspects there was a fascinating twist. The magic in this world is so much fun, and the laugh out loud moments are sprinkled throughout the story.
Jane may think she has a limited amount of time left, and Iain might imagine he has untold centuries to see, but when these two meet they discover they have a love of plants, and the beauty of nature in common, and maybe more than that.
