Harlow-

I live everyday looking over my shoulder. I work three jobs to pay off a debt that isn’t mine, all so I can keep me and my little sister alive. When Blake crashes, literally, into my life, I know there could be something great between us. I just don’t have the time for anything to happen. Between a terrifying loan shark, an overly flirty veterinarian, and a snotty fourteen year old, I barely have time to breathe. I just wish I could find the time to be with Blake, too.

Blake-

I knew there was something big missing from my life but could never figure out exactly what it was, until I ran into Harlow. I found out quickly that she was everything I’ve been looking for. The problem is that she doesn’t have time for a relationship. She has so much on her plate that it’s almost impossible to be with me, but I won’t take no for an answer. Nothing will get in our way, not even an old one-night-stand telling me that she’s pregnant with my child.

When our relationship finally begins we find that others aren’t as happy with it as she and I are. Secrets are kept. Lies are told. Threats have been made.

We want to find our happy ending, but we have to live to get there.

I am a mother of two beautiful and energetic children and the wife to one very handsome and hard working man. I live in the Rockies and hate every minute of winter. My brain is filled with 70% movie quotes and 25% song lyrics. I'm not sure what is going on in with the other 5%. I live for a good book with a happy ending and a big cup of coffee.

4.5 stars. This is the second book I've read by this author and the second in this series. There was alot of improvement in this book with the flow of the plot, characters being fleshed out and just overall smoothness while reading. Ok so I wasn't so sure about Blake after the first book. I decided to give this one a try and I think I may like him just as much if not more than Jay. He's so unbelievably sweet and supportive of Harlow. And Harlow is a sweet, hard working, caring girl. Did I think she was a little too stubborn at times about not accepting help? Hell yes I did. But I understood where she was coming from too. I seriously wanted to slap her sister Alex quite a few times. This ends with a sweet epilogue and now I'm going to start Elle and Ronan's story.

I don’t know who I love more – Harlow or Blake….

Harlow Wilholten is the poster child for responsible and loyal. Her sister is everything to her and for whom she works three jobs to ensure a roof over their head and a chance at a future.

Blake Maynard grew up in luxury but has never felt the love and acceptance that he is beginning to feel in Harlow’s arms.

From the minute they ‘bumped’ into each other they knew there was something between them as, over weeks, they begin to learn more to love about each other.

Harlow is my new hero! Working herself to the bone, she looks out for everyone to the detriment of herself. Blake assumes the role of protector, and having that take charge hunk in one’s corner is a dream come true! Harlow is not a shrinking violet though and accepts a helping hand only when absolutely necessary, while never shirking her role as the head of her small family.

I love the way these two interact with each other. There is enough drama in and around them (her sister is a pip) that seeing the two of them be so direct with each other keeps the story interesting without being over the top. I love how they slowly (if you can call weeks slowly) get to know each other. The story moves quickly and there is a lot of excitement, intrigue and love to keep me glued to the last page. I loved every tingling chapter and happily have a new author on my stalker list! ~ Diane, 5 stars

1.5 stars!!

Oh my goodness, I don't know where to begin with this one. The story line is so comical ( and not in a good way), I was constantly rolling my eyes or laughing out loud. The decisions these people made were seriously questionable and their actions even more so. I felt like I was reading a book with 10 years olds in grown up bodies, their decisions and actions were so irrational. The chemistry between Blake and Harlow was like watching paint dry, tedious and boring. They had no connection and I felt nothing between, their conversations with each awkward and no sexy at all.

Alex - she was a disgusting, annoying girl that needed a few tight slaps.

Blake - he was an idiot!! As stated before his decisions were questionable at the best of times, he acted liked a 12 year old instead of the 32 year old he claimed to be... it was painful to read.

Harlow - she was an even bigger idiot. I was wanted to slap her almost always and her misplaced sense of pride was even more stupid! Like when she fell ill. I mean what the heck was up with that! Come on, what if you seriously died? Cause trust me pneumonia is not something you play around with - my dad died from that for cripes sake! And she went on sick as she was for 6 days?!?! I mean what if you did drop down dead - then you would be dead and then maybe you little sister would have to pay back all that money!! And seriously, Blake claimed to like her so much and wanted t do so much for her, and in her best interests, he wouldn't make her go to the doctor or hospital? sorry to rant but that bit just got to me.

The loan sharks - I mean WTH??? Were these loan sharks or babysitters? What loan shark would really take someone out to get medicine, or hell even care that they were in the hospital the day before? Hello... they're freaking loan sharks!!

Eventually, this wore me down with it's incredulity and I had to skin the last 10% or so. I couldn't in all good conscience take anymore.

Heroine jumped to too many conclusions.
Alex was a real piece of work I'd love for her to get a punch in the face. Little brat.
Blake was good too quick on his feelings though.
Too many situations going on at once.
The sister, the jobs, Dominick, heaven, being sick and on top of all that a relationship.
It was okay. Wouldn't read it again in the future but was fine for now.

I like this one much better than first. The h I loved she is such a hard worker. The H was good to. Even though I didn't like some things about this book, I still enjoyed it.
