WRECK is better than FUEL, the first book in the Dirtslap series, and that isn't meant to discount FUEL at all. I loved FUEL. It was a great start to a superb series. It's just that I love WRECK more. Here are my reasons:
1. I hate letting my favorite characters go at the end of a book, and I love, love, love when an author keeps us involved in their lives in subsequent books in series like this. I fell in love with the various players in FUEL, and I was thrilled to get to know many of them even better in WRECK.
2. I loved Ethan. He is my new book boyfriend. So damn sincere, despite his scars. I loved the way he treated women - all women, but especially Shelby, who really, really needed a guy like Ethan to help her believe in herself. Crazy how they came from opposite sides of the tracks, yet both were pretty damn scarred. Just goes to show, even blue bloods can have issues.
3. Shelby was cool, too. She wasn't afraid to work, she wasn't afraid to be herself, and she wasn't afraid to give people a try, i.e. our favorite group of misfits from Boosy's.
4. I had so much fun guessing who would get their happily ever after in subsequent books, and with whom, based on interactions in this book. I can't wait to see if I'm right!
Looking forward to the next installment of the Dirtslap series. Very much so!
