Stiles must have saved a building of orphans and kittens and puppies in another life to get that as his soulmate. There’s muscle. More muscle than Stiles had been aware was capable and the guys on the lacrosse team were not shy about stripping down to only their shorts if Coach let them get away with it. Stiles has a healthy amount of muscle himself. Like, he’s reasonable toned. Not like Derek at all who was probably confused as a Celtic warrior from the past.
Stiles really, really wanted to touch Derek and unless Stiles was blind and dumb, Derek really, really wanted to touch Stiles too.

Soulmate AU/Alive Hales/Alive everyone/Everybody's a werewolf who's normally a werewolf (eventually) (well, except two people now that I think about it).
Second time I've read this one--it's definitely my favorite in the Soulmate/mark AU trope. In this version, soulmate's are born with (or develop it when their soulmate is born) a matching gemstone in one eye. Sounds itchy, but it makes for a nice story.
There are some odd pairings, like Scott and Lydia. I have the hardest time imagining those two together. She would eat him alive--nothing left but bones and mantears.
I'm sitting here trying to think why I liked this fic so much and how to relate that with, you know, words 'n stuff. Is it the Sterek love? Yes, that's very nice but I wouldn't say it's even the main focus. So, I don't know, I just loved the fluffy, magical realism feel of it. The focus on how all the soulmate's met and how they relate to each other. The pack together times, even when they're bickering. Gave me a warm and gushy feeling.
Just not in my pants 'cause there's no smut. But here, have some tongue action:

April 10, 2015Not working for me, it's all about eyes and fancy named eye-soul-jewels which I'm sure are pretty but it felt too much time went in to describing them and parts of the eye. I wanted more personality.
Scott and Lydia - She'd make mince-meat out of him! be it gourmet haute cuisine mince meat. Didn't buy it and the fic didn't sell it; as far as I got she seemed more focused on Jackson, keeping Scott around like an annoying puppy or far younger sibling. The freedom of fanfic is unlikely matches but probably doesn't help that I'm not a fan of Scott. (He's so whiny!) Danny and Isaac not an obvious pairing either.
Then they're Werewolves which seemed too much on top of the fancy soul-bonding.
If you like soul-bond fics then I'm sure you'll like this one a lot but it didn't grab me.

I think I was really enjoying this and then somehow the flow got really confusing to me. Not that I care because, Sterek. Kind of interesting take on "soulmates". One word, per the author.
I will note this though...Scott goes with Allison and Jackson goes with Lydia...just sayin'.

Didn't work for me. The eye-jewel-soul-thing just seemed super weird. The pairing were odd: Scott and Lydia? Jackson and Allison? Laura and Chris Argent? Huh?

AU where the way to find your mate (pre-destined other half of your soul), is to look in the their eye and see if they have a matching "aether" to yours. Obviously in this one Stiles' aether matches Derek's aether and they are instantly companionable.
It is really not that long of a read, but personally I found it incredibly boring after a awhile. However, I am not really a fan of the whole "soul mate" fics. I like the fics where the protagonists have free will and choose each other - the "fated" theme is a bit anti-climatic for me and without angst I find.
There are also really weird pairings: Scott/ Lydia, Chris/ Laura, Isaac/ Danny, Jackson/ Allison. These seem like they should add interest, but they aren't really explored all that much. I found Jackson the most interesting character in this fic.
For me, there was not enough Sterek - too much intermittent focus on others as soul mates and werewolves - and then when there was Sterek it was boring and I felt no chemistry between them. Little action, little chemistry, few emotions and for me a fic has to be at least heavy on one of those things.

Stiles and Derek are soulmates, as is a few weird pairings. It started off cute, but then it got boring. Also no smut at all, and that absence is felt dearly! The soulmate jewels sounded pretty though.

This is an interesting take on soul mates, though I had a hard time wrapping my mind around the Scott/Lydia pairing and the Jackson/Allison pairing.
