Billionaire Novelist's Fiery Debutante

Rate this book
When debut novelist Chloe Thomson wins an exclusive writing retreat on an island paradise, she never expected to run into Joshua Poole, billionaire novelist, gorgeous hunk and one very cranky human being.

Josh’s career is in trouble. He’s been suffering from a serious case of writer’s block, and his annual trip to Eden Island is his last chance. When suddenly Chloe drops in on him out of the blue, he’s more than a little pissed.

Apparently there’s been a double booking, and for one long week Chloe and Josh have to find a way to coexist. Sharing the same space. Dipping into the same pool. Sleeping in the same bed…

When he’s not writing he enjoys curling up with a good (comic) book, watching British crime dramas, French comedies or Nancy Meyers movies, sampling pastry (apple cake!), pasta and chocolate (preferably the dark variety), twisting himself into a pretzel doing morning yoga, going for a run, and spoiling his big red tomcat Tommy.

He lives with his wife (and aforementioned cat) in a small village smack dab in the middle of absolutely nowhere and is probably writing his next ‘Mysteries of Max’ book right now.

I received this book for an honest review.
Chloe is trying to start her life over as a writer and what better way to start her career than an free getaway and en exclusive writer's retreat. What will happen though when a scheduling conflict puts her there at the same time as her mother's favorite author, the undeniably attractive Joshua Poole? Stuck with writers block when trying to write his latest novel Joshua takes his agents advice and goes to his favorite retreat location. What he doesn't expect is the invasion of the young, beautiful blonde disturbing his peace and quiet. No means of communication means they have two choices stand put up with each other or one of them will have to hit their "panic button" and leave their retreat early. Can they co-exist? Maybe they can, maybe they are the answer to each other's problems or are they the cause of it?
So parts of this book I loved, the playfulness between the two main characters though at times I questioned if Chloe was almost 30 or just almost 20 with her antics. The plot itself was interesting and had me wondering what was coming next as it had a few twists I wasn't expecting. The meddling mothers were worth their weight in gold, and Chloe's five hot roommates were a priceless addition to this cast. The parts for me that were tough to swallow was the time frame, I'll all for lust at first sight, or even infatuation at first sight but I have a hard time when the L word gets thrown out as quickly as it does in this story. Yes I get clicking and feeling like you are already falling for someone but the rushed pace especially with the pressure from Josh just felt too unreal for me. I would have loved more time with them on the island I think if that had happened maybe it would have been easier for me to believe the whirlwind romance but whole days got single paragraphs instead of pages or even chapters. I guess what I'm saying is I need more meat! This is a standalone with no cliffhanger and was a fun quick read.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.
What is there NOT to like in this book! This is a wonderful story about two writers, one seasoned and one debuting, who find themselves tucked away on a tropical island alone, with nothing to do but get along and get their writing funk on. Unfortunately, they are only there for a week, then it's back to real life in the city.
I won't tell you any more, as you truly need to read it to be able to enjoy all of the ups and downs that they experience, both together and alone.
Nic Saint has done an awesome job with this one. The plot flows nicely and is easy to follow. There are so many eccentric characters that you need to meet, including the "five riders". This has every emotion you could possibly imagine, from the love/hate to rolling on the floor laughing. You know there has to be an HEA, but it's how they eventually get there. Love this, love the characters, and hope to see more of them in the future. Well done!

I received this book as an ARC for an honest review. This book reminded me a lot of the Eden series books I don't know if it was meant to be a part of them or not but the scene this author has set up reminded me a lot of those types of books. It is a good book it does go fairly quickly but the story flows well and it isn't lacking even thought it is short.

In this book we meet Chloe Thomson, Chloe is an aspiring author who has won a week long vacation on Eden to write her next book. Little does Chloe know that Joshua Poole a well published suspense novelist is already on the island and the living quarters are about to get cramped. Josh is feeling the pressure to put out his next book which he has no clue what it will be were as Chloe is looking to get her first novel published by a publisher instead of self published.

This book has many twists (which you have to read the book to find out) that will keep you hooked from the first word to the very end. I would recommend this book to anyone.

Joshua Poole is a best selling novelist and takes a secluded vacation once a year to relax, recharge and renew himself to make way for his next best selling novel. This trip to Eden Island doesn't go anything like planned and that is because Chloe is interrupting his seclusion. You see Chloe won a trip to Eden Island to stay at the secluded resort...well they double booked and considering it is a resort for one person only and you are dropped off by helicopter they were both stuck there for a week with only one bed. Yep that does make for an interesting situation especially since Josh refuses to sleep on the couch. Their story was a sweet one with lots of ups and downs. It had sexy scenes and a some laugh out loud moments when mothers were involved. I felt it dragged a bit at time but all in all it was an enjoyable read.

A wonderful love story!

Chloe has given herself a limited amount of time to become a successful novelist. Her mother enters her into a contest and she wins a writers retreat on a private island. She expects to spend her days alone with her laptop and coming up with ideas for her best selling novel. The only problem is that she isn't alone on the island. A scheduling glitch has her on the island with best selling author Joshua Poole. After a few conflicts, Chloe and Joshua help each other out with ideas, and find they actually like each other. I enjoyed this book very much, the characters were well written and believable.

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for a fair review.

This was the first book that I have read by Nic Saint and it won't be the last.
Chloe wins a trip to Eden Island, where she can spend a week doing nothing but writing her next novel. She arrives at the island to find that she isn't the only author there, even though she is meant to be.
The people who manage the island double booked her and she ends up sharing the island with Best Seller, Joshua Poole.
Things don't start well with the two of them but they eventually call a truce, which turns out to be the best decision, both for their work and their love lives.

The first stand-alone novel I've read by this author and it was a true romance. The chemistry between the hero and heroine was gripping right from the beginning on the isolated island. Joshua is a billionaire novelist and Chloe is just beginning this new career of writing. They end up helping each other in more ways than one. The emotional struggle that they go through once returning to civilization is unexpected in the story, but appreciated. This was a very heart warming story, however, ***SPOILER*** - I did have nightmares about the spiders!

Josh is a big shot writer who is on a retreat to write his newest book. Unknowingly he is about to be thrown for a loop. Chloe is a singer turned writer trying to make her own name in the world not just through her singing career. Being on the island together starts sparks either one hasn't seen in a while. And they help each other out in more ways than one... When they come back from island will all be alright with the happy couple or will all come crashing down around them???

This is the second book that I have read by author Nic Saint. This is a fun, lighthearted contemporary romance about two writers, one with a severe case of writer's block and the other one hoping to write a blockbuster. I think what I liked most about this novel were the unexpected plot twists, it wasn't simply a case of true love at first sight.

I loved it. I enjoyed reading this very much. This is not a story that will start out all hot and steamy - you get to read about two people falling in love. This is a story that will have you with different emotions but you will feel the love. The chemistry and love is steamy and hot between the characters.

Great job to the author on another amazing story.

When Chloe wins an exclusive writing retreat on an island paradise. She never expected to run into Joshua Poole, one very annoying author.

Josh has been suffering from a serious case of writer’s block. When Chloe drops in on him out of the blue. Boy do the sparks fly!

This book I couldn't stop reading. It's one of those books that you just have to know what happens next!

Received an ARC copy from author for a honest review. Romantic and entertaining story with humor about a bestselling author and a struggling author ending up on an island retreat. Their intense bickering ended up being foreplay for the sizzling chemistry between them. Loved their characters and interaction. Overall a really likeable book.

A sexy entertaining read! Josh and Chloe are double booked at a writer’s resort and as the quarters get a bit cramped the sexual tension between them begins to sizzle. Sexy entertaining read. The story is fast paced and the attraction between Josh and Chloe is hot. I loved it!
