This is the first part of a serial so keep that in mind when purchasing. The first part in a serial is usually all set up and tend to leave me a bit unfulfilled. Alpha Wars, pt. 1 has lots of detail and combines the meeting of our main couple with both some back story (not much yet, but some)and plenty of action to move the story along. So, I found it a bit more "filling" than the average first story in a serial.
Orla is a resident working in a hospital ER and is out jogging when she hears a man in distress. She assists him, but runs off when his friends come. Conri realizes that Orla is special and hunts her down and gets her to work for him for two weeks by bribing Orla and her boss with lots of needed medical equipment. Little do they know, he has no intention of her leaving him after two weeks. We get clues that Conri is acting in good faith and while helping himself, he's also helping Orla. Turns out Orla's great grand parents have been keeping stuff from her. When this part ends we are just at the point where Orla learns some details. It's sort of a cliffhanger, but not painful like they can sometimes be when you are really invested in a story.
I liked the characters and the story flowed well for me. I liked the humorous little twist at the beginning with how Orla motivated herself to jog/run. I may have to try that. Orla is a BBW and she does mention her body size/issues several times. This really tends to irritate me when a heroine prattles endlessly about her size issues, but so far, it hasn't been that bad.
I'm looking forward to part 2 and getting to know more about this world of Irish werewolves and to see how the world Hunter builds for them may deviate from the standard were novel.

Overall I enjoyed book one. I haven’t read a serial since I was a kid. So I was unsure how I would go as normally I am a glutton and just keep reading and reading and reading if a book captures my imagination – this is often to the detriment of sleep! This book welcomed me in and I was very quickly immersed in the story. If I could have continued straight on to book 2 I would have. I was dying to know what happens next.
I enjoyed the chemistry between Orla and Conri. I also identified with Orla and her passion for running ;) What I enjoyed about the novel is that you are in the dark just like Orla. You sort of have an idea of what’s going on but you are learning at the same time as the character. You can feel her frustration of knowing something is up but not quite sure what it is. It will be interesting to see how all the characters and the world develop in the future instalments.
So if you have limited time to read but want a good story then this is a serial for you as the books will be coming out in regular intervals. If you are not patient, then rather wait until the books are bundled in one so that you can pig out in one sitting. And it will be in one sitting as you will be hooked and just want to know what happens next!
I’m off to count the days till Book 2!

Its always a pleasure to read stories from new to me authors, the excitement, the fresh style. Most of the time I’ve enjoyed the experience this is one of those times. Alpha Wars... Is short and quick read that leaves you in anticipation for the next book.
Orla tall and curvy and a whole lot of sass and determination. She herself has said she has been way to busy in her goals to have much of a social life... “who needs beauty...I’m a doctor” as she makes her way through central park she comes across a man that is injured...
Conri has more attitude than most, he walks with a air of its my way or no way. Of course him being a alpha and his bank account rivals the top fortune 500, allows him to be that way.
Well not everyone is as impressed with him or the opulence that surrounds him Orla being one that is all impressed. Besides after their initial meeting, Conri left her running scared.
An intriguing story that has me watching for the next book so that I know what happens. Just enough detail that will have you coming back, so far the story line intrigues and the characters personalities suit. The alpha and miss sassy, you can almost feel the current they are feeling... Soo many secrets.. All the unknowing.. There is a tale to be told and a destiny to be lived..

"Alpha wants to play Doctor with curvy,spunky Doc"
This book is incredible! The characters are fantastic!. Orla Kelly is a curvy intern Doctor. While out jogging one night Dr. Kelly hears what sounds like a man in pain in the bushes. She investigates and finds a sexy injured man on the ground. When she touches him his eyes glow after she tends him she takes off in fear. Corni knows as soon as she touched him she is his fated mate. Corni goes to the hospital to find her and donates a large sum of money in exchange that Orla agrees to travel with him for a couple of weeks as his personal Doctor. Corni explains that he likes to have a Doctor along in case they run across someone who needs help. Orla does not really want to agree but for the hospital she does. Who is this sexy hot Irish Billionaire ,and what does he really want with her Orla wonders. Corni does not like tricking her ,but she does not know what she is or what she means to him but he has no plans of bringing her back. Corni has another problem there is another Alpha trying to find Orla. When Orla is told the truth it will change her life forever. The story line in this book is amazing !. I can not wait to read book #2!

Conri, corporate bigwig, and the guy she helped, realizes that Orla is something special to him and bribed her boss with medical equipment to retain Orla's services as a Doctor for 2 weeks. However, he has no intention of letting her leave him. Conri is both helping Orla and himself. We find out that Orla's Great grandparents have been keeping some mighty big secrets.
It does end on a cliffhanger but not a shuddering to a halt one, more a pause in the story. I loved the story, Irish Alpha Werewolves umm yes please!!! It's a fresh perspective on the werewolf legend. I loved the way Orla scares herself to run faster...then subsequently finds herself doing it for real. Smooth read, no jarring of scenes and I'm hoping we see more of the hunky inner sanctum group!!!

"Hot,steamy and oh so amazing series!"
This series has the most incredible story lines!. The characters are charming and unique!. When Orla meets Faolan to both he and Conri touch her. Every think clicks in place and Orla knows she is to be with!, It is Conri when Faolan hears this he goes into a rage and declares war. Orla tries to talk Faolan out of it as she tells him she feels something for him to, but not like what she feels for Conri. Faolan tells Orla she is not the only reason he is declaring war. That it has been along time in coming even before they found her. Now Orla has to come to tearms with not only did she find her life's mate, but soon as she and Conri mate she will become a wolf to. Added to this She will become Queen of the wolves and a pending war she does not know if she can handle it all. This series is full of suspense,action and steamy hot Romance!. This is a must read book and series!.

I am glad that I read this version of the book as it is all the short stories put together into one story.
I loved most of the characters and the story line.
Orla Kelly is an American woman who is in Medical school. She is different she can smell things like that someone is hurt and she feels like she has to help anyone whom is hurt. Conri Fallon happens to be one of those guys that she feels that she has to help even though he can heal pretty quickly himself because he is a Wolf shifter. Conri is the king of all of the wolfs, the alpha of all alphas. What I like about him is even though he is cocky and arrogant he does seem to have a caring side to him. Orla is definitely an alpha woman she does not like to take orders from anyone. She likes to make up her mind and help with the decision making. Orla is suddenly thrust into the world of the wolves where she would have grown up a princess but her grandparents had kept her in the dark about her past and self so that she would stay safe. That keeping her in the dark ended up being a bad thing but she took all the information in stride and did not fully freak out.
There were all kinds of plot twists that I never saw coming. I wanted to keep reading to find out more information. I am hoping that there will be more in this series because I can not wait to find out more.

Overall well written shifter novel. I liked the main characters and the struggles they encountered both quest for a mate and survival of their clan. The supernatural evil spirit twist was not expected, yet fit fairly well with the story. The only real drawback was how the two alphas were portrayed. Sometimes they were strong and set in their ideas, yet the next they were unsure and almost asking for forgiveness? This could just be my perception of how the characters were portrayed. I had hoped to see a bit of an epilogue to know that all is resolved and the characters were happy/together/ perhaps that is where book 2is going to start? I still wanted a bit more HEA for THIS novel before I set it down. I received this book for free from eBook Discovery. I voluntarily review this book. This is my honest review.

I love the fact that this author took a different approach to a shifter book. I can tell this is going to be an awesome series.
Orla Kelly is the type of female character I like to see in books. I always love to see when an author makes the female character with a strong personality. She was sort of an unusually girl on the did not listen to upbeat music when jogging but more of horror movie soundtrack when running. What a way to motivate you.
Orla was a beautiful plus size woman who was smart and a doctor. She was quick to help people out when they were hurt, which got her in the predicament that she found herself in.
Conri Fallon was a handsome well-built Alpha male. He did not think he would ever find his mate. Boy was he surprised when he met Orla. She was everything he hoped for. She was strong headed, strong spirited, and beautiful. There was more to Orla then met the eye, a secret she did not know about herself.
I think one of my favorite quotes from the book is, “You think you’re some sort of alpha male able to conquer any woman with a sweet whisper and gentle touch? I’m not your type, Mr. Fallon. In my circle, I’m the alpha”. Got to love a woman that can put a man in his place.
The questions are why wasn’t Orla told of her family secret when she was young? Will Conri be able to win Orla’s trust? Will Orla be able to handle the truth? Want to know the answers? Read the book.
If you love shifter books then you will love the approach that Hannah Hunter took on this book. I am so looking forward to finding out what book two holds.

I found the heroine alittle annoying at first but then it started to really pick up. I found that the time the author put in to find truth behind the folklore interesting. At the end of the book it states what she has done in order to bring life to her book, the research she did. So far I am not a big fan of Conri but Orla is def a heroine I will love to read more about. I found that when she talked bad about her weight it kind of made me think wow she is going to be whiny but when she expressed through a kiss that SHE IS THE ALPHA, I knew I would love Orla. I can't wait for the next book. The amount of time the author took to learn about the Irish folklore on shifters is awesome. Orla being a doctor who is interning sees a man who is wounded, like a good Samaritan she goes to help him regardless of his protest and there starts their story. I didn't really understand what she is until the very end because they kept talking about hounds....I was like what is this book about. Finally I was able to glean what it is about but it was not until the very end. Then I was hanging my head down because I wanted to find out more. Given to me for an honest review. This author is up front with the info that this is a serial with a cliffhanger and she is going to bundle the books at the end for readers who prefer to read the books all at once. As I have said in other reviews I don't normally read serials unless they are collected in a boxed set. But I have, also, said that if I think it will be a good read I will read it. This definitely is an excellent read. Can't wait to read the rest of this series. Now, let me see if I can give you enough of a teaser that you will want to join me reading this shifter book. Oral is jogging late one night by herself. She hears a noise that makes her know that someone is injured and she must see if she can help. The man who needs help refuses to allow her to call an ambulance. She sees the color of his eyes. It terrorizes her and she takes off running to the hospital. The next day he visits the Chief of Staff at her hospital and offers a very generous donation if she could travel with him for 2 weeks. His regular doctor is unavailable. Since the equipment Conri offers to buy is really needed, she decides she will go with him. She has no idea what her life will be like as she boards Conri's private airplane.

I received an advance copy for an honest review. I was intrigued and roped in by the end of the first paragraph. The heroine, Orla Kelly, is running for her life. What? By the second paragraph I read that she was jogging using a horror sound track to motivation. Oh boy, I’m hooked now. What’s going to happen next? She hears a strange noise. Oh by the way, our heroine is a Doctor. That noise is a groan, she investigates. After she is a Doctor and she has a natural affinity for finding people who need help. Now it’s time for the hero, Conri Fallon. He hires Orla to be his personal physician. She accepts the position under direst. Our hero, Conri knows a secret about Orla. Something that will change her life forever, she is a wolf.
This story is so intriguing and I can’t wait to read the next part of the story. I really like the hints of old Irish legends and prophesy. Characters were so interesting and I can see hints of they will develop as the story moves forward. The story ends well enough as Orla finds out she is wolf a very special one. Hopefully the next part will be out soon. Quick and easy read.

Characters were so interesting and I can see hints of they will develop as the story moves forward. The story ends well enough as Orla finds out she is wolf a very special one. Hopefully the next part will be out soon. Quick and easy read.

This is beginning to become one of my favorite brought to life shifter story series thus far.. Orla Kelly a med student always wanting to help others in need finds a man seeming to need medical care, as she walks up to him she catches his eyes a very vivid green , and something stirs inside her..a bad dream coming to life..before she knows it he goes to her job giving her the chance of a lifetime but she must go along with him...her fear is in high gear but she really has no choice Conri Fallon is a man that knows when to put on the charm..he has reasons as to why she must accompany him, but he can't tell her..not yet anyhow. We also get to learn about Orla's Irish grandparents. They had brought her up since she was very small, and she looks up to both of them and there advice, not ever knowing the secrets that have been kept away for many years. I am starting on the next part right now because I can't wait to see what happens next! Fantastic 5 plus story ! I was given a copy of this book in return of an honest review. If you like Irish lore and shifters you'll definitely enjoy this !

This is the first book I have read by this author. And note it is a series, so if you don't like serials you may want to wait until after the entire line is published because there will be cliffhangers!
At first I thought I was not going to like the book as I was not particular found of the female lead character. Now I am the type to always finish what I start (even if it is bad because I have to know what happened) so I kept reading and slowly but surely Ms. Hunter seduced me into really liking this book. At that point, I could not put it down and had to finish it, and I did, in one sitting! The main characters are Orla and Conri. Love the fact that she is strong and confident woman and doesn't question who she is and loves her self. Conri, well let's just say I imagined one hunk of an Irish man. You can almost feel the connection between the two jumping off the pages of the book.
The story line is something that I have not seen before, so I am really looking forward to what the author does with the next book.

Orla is a resident in the emergency room of a local hospital. While out jogging in Central Park when she comes across a man hurt. He does everything he can to make her go away, but Orla has the need to help people hurt. it is why she is becoming a doctor. Conri knows as soon as Orla touched him she was meant to be his mate. So he bribes the Chief of Staff at the hospital with medical equipment to allow Orla to be his personal Doctor on staff for two weeks. Orla feels like there is something more to this then what Conri is saying.
This is part 1 of a six part series. So you do know going into the book it is going to have a cliffhanger. Loved both characters and what makes it more exciting is they both are alphas. Orla was kept in the dark about what she is and slowly the truth starts coming out. Conri is your typical hot sexy billionaire alpha man. Can two alphas make it work. looking forward to the next part in the series.

This is the authors debut shifter book and it is full of promise. It is the first installment of serial shorts, so there is a cliffhanger.
The action starts at the very beginning and does not slow down. Orla and Conri are likeable and well developed characters.
Conri is a sexy, rich alpha male. Orla is a strong BBW, who is also an alpha.
Orla was never told about her Irish werewolf heritage, so she has a lot of surprises coming. There is also a war going on between two different packs or maybe it should be clans. Anyway, there's going to be a lot of obstacles to be dealt with. Questions that Orla needs answers to. There was no sex in this book, but if the hot kisses and tingling touches are a preview of what's to come, then I can't wait. Hurry up Hannah, write faster. I need book 2. I completely recommend this book for those who love werewolf romance.

This is the first short novella I that caught my attention right away. This is also the first time in reading this author for me. Orla is out jogging at night of all times when she comes across someone or something that might be in need. Even when she sees whom is in need she still stands her ground. Being a resident though in the emergency field can be quite challenging and she will soon face a even bigger challenge soon. Conri needs her in a big way. He is not just any alpha male which makes him quite interesting. In a very short time he learns much about her and after a bit she will also learn much about him and how it directly involves her with a secret it would seem brought to light thanks to a traumatic event. Explosive chemistry between them also but he tells her something very important concerning prophesy where this author leaves you truly bitten yourself. Received a copy for a honest review.

An intresting story despite the fact that it reminds me of another story by another author.

Alpha Wars Part One is the first installment of a serial with a lot of promise. Ireland and shifters? You can't go wrong there. Although you don't learn a lot about what's going on in this installment, what you do learn is really interesting and fairly novel. I have yet to read a shifter book set in Ireland, and frankly, it's nice to get a break from the usual paranormal settings. I'm really over the whole alpha billionaire thing (both paranormal and normal), but this one doesn't seem to be as bad as a lot of the others. I hope that continues and that I don't have to start pulling my hair out over obnoxious billionaires. All in all, this was a great start to a very promising series; I can't wait to read the rest!

Orla is a medical student who is too curvy for the world bu not to Conri the Irish Werewolf King. When Orla comes to the aid of a wounded man she runs when she is cornered, but soon Conri gets her and her boss to agree to let her work for him. No one but Conri knows that he will not let her go when the time comes because she is suppose to be a big part of his life for good or bad. Orla doesn't know a lot a bout her past but the more time she spends with Conri the more she learns. This book is part of a series so we are left with a cliffhanger. This story has its own twist in the telling of shifters which I enjoyed. I will be waiting for the next chapter in Orla and Conri's story...

I was given this ARC for an honest review.
That being said, I now have another author I will read (purchase)their books. I read several serials and I enjoy them. It is a quick read and I can squeeze it into my busy day/life.
The first thing I liked immediately was a strong female character, Orla.
Orla grew up with her great grand parents as her parents and grandparents died when she was young. Orla has worked and studied hard and is finishing her medical training to become a doctor when she crosses paths with Conri. Conri is the king of his pack. She is the rare prize, the prophecy wolf. The story progresses quickly in this first installment and left me wanting more. It was worth my time and can't wait to read more.

This was an ARC of the first book in this serial and is already showing great promise to be everything I enjoy about Shifter novels. The characters are well developed and interesting. Just put an Alpha male and Alpha female in the same room, tension and sparks are sure to fly. This story is good with detail without being over done, so you can enjoy the interaction. The ending of this serial ends with the right amount of a tease to draw you towards the next in the series. I don't like to give spoilers because the author always gives a good description of the story line. That being said I would happily recommend you keep reading this serial to it's conclusion.

Wow, what an exciting beginning to what I believe will be an awesome series. Hannah Hunter has taken a totally new direction with her take on shifters and what happens when there battles to be had between the clans. The plot of this book is fresh and new. The characters are exciting and full of spunk, not willing to back down and crumble when they come to a rough area of life and what has been dealt them. Willing to face the worst, yet hoping for the best. I am thrilled to have been given the opportunity of reading part one, but am seriously looking forward to the rest of the series.

I love this series so far. Ms. Hunter has a smooth flowing writing style. The book grabs you from page one and all you can do is hang on for the ride. The characters are well developed and likeable. Conri (love his name) is a sexy, strong, rich alpha of a clan of Irish werewolves. Orla is a strong, beautiful, smart alpha female. I truly enjoyed reading about how they come together and the different obstacles they face while building upon their attraction to each other. I look forward to book 2 of the series and highly recommend this book/series to everyone.

I was given this in exchange for an honest review. Let me start by saying this is a great beginning to what I am sure will be a great serial! I love shifter and Irish books both, so the fact that this combines both is a big hit with me. So far, the indication is that Orla is a big role in this and can make or break a clan. She is the combination of 2 different clans and they both seem to want her for the success of their clan. Condri seems to be a huge hunk of a man that can kiss her out of her world. As this is the first in the series, it is a great lead in with an ending leaving me begging for more. I can't wait to read part 2!

He knows who she is, what she is, and she is his! So says Conri King of all the Faoladh. Orla is a new doctor, under the mistaken impression that she is a BBW (size 12), and totally unaware of what is happening around her, although she knows something strange is underway. Grr, just as the story was getting good it was over, which is why I hate serials, but now I'm invested and totally needing to know what happens next. I want to be there when he finally reveals all. I can't wait I just know if it is as good as this book I'll love it.
