After the discovery of a dormant zombie virus in preserved Antarctic dinosaur specimens, billionaire visionary and megalomaniac William DeKirk proceeds with his plan to unleash a zombie-dinosaur army upon the world, starting with Washington D.C. The U.S. military struggles to prevent the contagion's spread and to defend against the onslaught of prehistoric monstrosities as all-out war breaks out between the living and the dead. However, DeKirk has even farther-reaching plans. Modifying the virus to allow for greater control, he intends to impart upon himself all the benefits of zombie-ism-near indestructibility, immortality and immunity to attacks of other zombies, including the dinosaurs, which he can now direct at will. Nothing can stop him from eradicating civilization as we know it, except possibly returning heroes Alex Ramirez and Veronica Winters. The unlikely pair must rescue the one scientist who may hold the key to arresting the zombie apocalypse, a CDC expert trapped in a besieged Atlanta office. Can they secure the antidote and turn the tide before the plague reaches its full potential, or will the planet return to the dominion of its long-extinct masters and a new tide of undead humanity?

Zombie Dinosaurs Attack Washington DC. Seriously, what more do you need to know, particularly in the modern political climate? This book continues shortly after Jurassic Dead left off and ups the ante even more than the "zombie dinosaurs exist" premise of the first book. Read Jurassic Dead first, but you're going to want to start this book immediately following it!
Jurassic Dead 2 is an amazing follow up to the first, increasing the stakes, the violence, and the life or death struggles as America is attacked. I absolutely cannot wait for the third part!!!
I actually think this may be better written then Jurassic Dead, a little more structured and of course ends with a cliffhanger. But I am not quite sure if I would say I would like it more then the first, honestly pry a little less. While I may enjoy the first a bit more, this was still a decent sequel and for what I expected it didnt really disappoint. This part of the series really cranks everything up to 11, be it amount of characters, zombies, dinosaurs. Sometimes I wonder if it were too much, while at others I couldnt believe what I was reading and feel quite entertained. The T.rex and Cryolophosaurus are back as are the dino human zombies but this book introduces quite a few new creatures into the fray. First its main new creature is a Pteranodon a type of flying reptile that isnt a dinosaur but rather distantly related. It's ok, adds more tension for the plane scenes, how about the Spinosaurus? Well it was fun, added something for the water that could also venture to land. It actually has a pretty cool scene in Washington DC and of course it being my favorite Dinosaur I found it quite exciting to see it appear. But this brings us to another of the new creatures another dinosaur, Dreadnoughtus. Now there is some issues with this so let's break it down. The design started out ok, long neck giant legs, huge size, but in my mind I kept thinking it was described as an absolute Titan, somthing far bigger then it should have been. It is often described as the largest Dinosaur ever, which was a flashy headline at the time of discovery but with more research it actually is smaller than other large sauropods. Dreadnoughtus comes in roughly around 85 feet long, 42 tons while Argentinosaurus was around 115 feet long and 83 tons, Patagotitan was around 102 feet long and 60 tons, Alamosaurus was around 98 feet long and 80 tons, Puertasaurus was around 98 feet long and 60 some tons. I could go on and on but I think you would understand my point by now. Also on size why is every dinosaur described as even larger then T.rex, like of course. Havent you seen the skeletons, the Brachiosaurus or Patagotitan at the Field Museum dwarf Sue the T.rex. The Barosaurus and Apatosaurinae at the American Museum of Natural History far tower over AMNH-5027 (T.rex), The Diplpdocus at the Denver Museum far outstretched the T.rex skeleton there as well. This isnt new, Sauropods have been known as the largest for a long time now. But let's get to something other then size, why does it have horns, it sounded more like the never released Jurassic Park Chaos Effect Line Ultimasaurus with long neck rather than a true Dreadnoughtus. But I'm rambling, was the book still enjoyable, does it make me want to read part 3. Overall Yeah.
It seems as if all is lost.. DeKirk’s Plans are just too complete.. I have no idea what could be coming in the 3rd book. We do get to see our 2 main characters from the first book in a battle with zombies, Dino zombies and more zombies to the CDC where there may have been a hope for a cure... I got a little bored.. my favorite parts where the Zombie Dinosaurs arriving in each city that was targeted. Especially the concert where the mosh pit surfer got bit in half and still passed around till people noticed he was dead and let the torso drop. I don’t get the virus.. I know it is about prions and was found in Antarctica when DeKirk hires scientists to unearth the zombie Dino’s.. how the man himself somehow is able to control it and also be half zombie is something that could be expanded upon. I wonder what kind of Dino the Dreadnought is besides being vegetarian.. I couldn’t picture it. Anyways I still love the idea of Zombie Dinosaurs and just for that it gets 3 Stars for a decent readable story. I think it could be more entertaining and explain more.. or maybe have some ray of hope...?
I enjoyed the first one and I decided to give this one a go and I wasn’t disappointed. It has plenty of gory action that’s balanced out with dark humour. It’s been my go to audio book for the past few days. My only problem is the narrator’s voice is soothing and I keep dozing off after a couple of chapters. It just means I’ve been re listening to some bits. I love the choice of narrator though. He doesn’t do the higher pitched ‘female’ voice which I liked. He still gives the main characters their own voices and i thoroughly loved it.
I really enjoyed the whole series. It was an awesome time killer during my long drives to and from work, so much so I've listened to all 3 books one after the other.
I've listened to the Audible audiobook version. The narrator was really good, I'm impressed with all the different voices he kept playing out and keeping them the same throughout the trilogy. That couldn't have been an easy task.
Honestly for a zombie dinosaur book there was a lack of them. There were plenty of zombies but the not the dinosaurs. The humans took up a lot of that. But when the dinosaurs did make an appearance it was awesome. Overall, turn your brain off and have a good time blasting away these dinosaurs because we all know it’s fun.
Zombies, dinosaur zombies, world takeover and general chaos. Don’t expect a literary masterpiece but strap in for a fun ride. The sequel takes the story to the States and does not disappoint.
I enjoyed this second installation in the trilogy. The pace felt a bit slow in comparison to the first book but it had plenty of action and it has me looking forward to the third book.
A little more excitement, didn’t find out why things were happening until you hit the 80% mark. I wish that there was more dinosaur action over a virus turning people into zombies.

This one is definitely better than the first one. It feels like the stakes are definitely not in favor of the characters. Hopefully book 3 keeps up with this pace.
Not as good as the first book but not bad overall. Don't understand how Dekirk became a part of the shadow govt though. I thought he was a known, wanted villan?

Book 2 picks up not too long after the end of book 1. The US government starts to look in to the situation in Antartica, but too little too late as new shipments from there head to the east coast of the USA. Main target, Washington DC. Dekirk has found an even bigger selection of dinosaur zombies and has also figured out how to control them as well as the human dinosaur zombie hybrids! Little does he know that before Dyson died, he sent the CDC his work on a possible cure. Now it's a race to get to Atlanta to find and protect the cure before it's too late!
This book keeps the crazy fast paced action as the first book, pretty much non-stop! If you were a fan of the first book, you will def. enjoy the follow up. I personally liked this one a little bit better then the first book. I didn't totally hate Veronica this time around. It was a quick, and enjoyable read. I am dying to read the 3rd one and see where it goes from here.
While this is a very good series and the author does a great job it must be said that "Jurassic Dead 2" is a total "Cliffhanger". A "to be continued" just at the most action packed spot. I read a lot of series but there should be just a little closure at the end of each book. There wasn't any here. Feels like someone tore out the last half of the book. Bummer.
I found this book really good fun and a great read. Plenty of action straight from the off and so much better than the first. Really looking forward to a third book so get writing guys :)
