I have been a fan of Brian Weimer since reading Nexus and this book, Polarity, just makes me love his writing style all the more. I enjoy books that tell the story from multiple point-of-views and the way it all comes together in the end. Polarity does this superbly. Also, there are small sections peppered throughout the book that are told from minor characters perspectives and while they are small, their impact is significant. Brian truly knows how to weave together a compelling story full of relatable and layered characters.

Polarity picks up not long after the events of Nexus. Josh, Nicole, and Daniel are coming to terms with the ordeal of their first encounter with the dark entities that terrorized their city and the mad man, Celsius. Nicole is doing her best to move on with her life and does so by helping Josh and Daniel in their paranormal investigations. Josh, while still dealing with the loss of his fiance, Rachel, faces each case with determination and resilience. I'm totally in love with his character! He's just one of those guys that is genuiue with a heart of gold. Daniel is fully dedicated to his part in this team and uses his unique abilities to aid their investigations.

The bond between the characters, even though they've only known each other for a short amount of time, is incredibly strong. You can just feel how much they care for one another and know that there isn't anything they wouldn't do to keep each other safe. Their dedication to their calling and each other is definitely tested, especially when the dark forces surrounding them unleash a barrage of obstacles.

As with Nexus, I love the science and technology of this book and how it is perfectly mixed with the paranormal. I honestly don't think I've ever read a more original plot line. It's so refreshing! Josh, Nicole, and Daniel are strong believers and use their faith to help others, fight off an ever growing evil, and support each other through it all. They are awakened to so many powers and gifts from the spirit and I just know there is much more to their potential.

Polarity was a roller coaster ride of emotions. I was afraid for the characters; I felt their pain and their hope. Not only is this a story that touched my heart with it's tale of good versus evil, but it also filled me with a sense of wonder. The characters are truly on an epic adventure and there was plenty of "edge of my seat" moments. Parts of the books had me talking out loud as if the characters or the author could hear me! I honestly felt part of the "team", trying to help them on their quest.

If you love Sci-Fi, if you love the Paranormal, then you need to give this series a try. You will not regret it!
