What an amazing cookbook! It's filled with delicious sounding recipes, vivid photos, and interesting little stories! I can't wait to try some of the recipes in this book!
This is a good cookbook overall! There were some recipes that don't have everything made from scratch and use premade stuff from the grocery store. While the ideas are still good, I wish that it was based more from scratch. I'll definitely be using some of these recipes though!
Love, love, love this book. I so enjoy Katie Lee on "The Kitchen". Just can't miss an episode of that show. I was unaware that Katie has a place in the Hamptons. I enjoyed reading about her visits to the Green Thumb farmstand. Her recipes are well written and easy and simple to prepare.
This is a great cookbook if you’re looking for fun summer snacks and meals. There are a few refreshing cocktail recipes as well that I can’t wait to try. I would have given it 5 stars but not every recipe had a photo. Also, these recipes are not groundbreaking but simple and fun.
Lots of recipes with box mixes, store bought donuts, package of Naan bread, etc. Other than that, lots of burgers, hot dogs, potatoe salad..typical summer foods. Nothing new or interesting in this book. Glad I only spent $3 on it.

This cookbook screams summer from the delicious, easy, light recipes to the beautiful photos of the ripe fruits and vegetables. I can't wait to go to the Farmer's Market and start cooking!
How could I NOT like this book? Such fun summer time pics of picnics, fruit, surfing, not enough pics of food, but it's okay. Some of the recipes I'm most excited about are Nectarine and Cream Cheese French Toast Sandwiches, Lobster Reubens, Bourbon Bacon Slaw, Green Goddess Corn on the Cob, and Watermelon-Rum Punch. Yes please!
This book has a lot of fun, fresh recipes that feature ingredients that are native to my area. We already tried out two recipes and were very pleased with the dishes. Looking forward to trying out many more of the ones I bookmarked.
Easy to follow recipes, some unique meal ideas. I also appreciate the pictures as sometimes I’m not sure what the meal I am making is supposed to look like or how to plate it for maximum appeal.
I like this cookbook. I think Katie Lee takes the best of what is summertime county and finds really yummy things to do with them. I particularly liked the sides section.
More like 3.5. Biggest downfall for me was lack of pictures of recipes. I’m definitely a visual person when it comes to choosing foods I want to try and recreate.
The library had a lot of new cookbooks, I was pretty hungry at the time so I brought a stack home to browse through. This was by far the weakest of the bunch-- grilled doughnuts with melted Nutella anyone? If that's not enough to make your teeth hurt, how about strawberry brownie cake in which 2 boxes of brownie mix is the first ingredient. Of course, there are plenty of healthy recipes too-- chilled beet soup with yogurt and pepitas, hanger steak with jalapeño butter and lemon mint baby Zucchini all sound delish.
I admit that I'm turned off by cookbooks that are full of pictures of the celebrity chef. This one had 13 photos of the lovely Katie Lee before you get to the first recipe on page 22. I've never heard of her, maybe if you're a fan you'll enjoy all the photos. Rather then buying this one, I recommend that you check it out from your library.
I did copy one super easy recipe for those times I have gluten-averse friends over for breakfast:
Blender Pancakes 1 cup(240ml) cottage cheese or greek yogurt 2 large eggs 1 cup (80g) rolled oats I'll also be adding lemon or orange zest and a dash of salt
Blend together until smooth and pour batter onto buttered (she uses nonstick cooking spray) griddle and cook. Easy-peasy!
I pulled a few recipes from this cookbook - baked halibut with a tomato relish, a lemon rice side dish, a Moroccan carrot salad and BBQ ribs. The rib recipe looks pretty standard, but I'm in the mood for summer ribs, so I grabbed it.
Blender pancakes made of three ingredients - cottage cheese, eggs and oatmeal - were okay, but not stellar.
This cookbook is laid out nicely with lots of good photos. I love the dessert section...s'mores brownie, yum! There are some interesting cooking methods and unique recipes such as the turkey cooked in a contraption I never heard of. But I made it without and it really was delicious. All in all, great cookbook for the warm, summer months.
This is a pretty cookbook that highlights all the great food that you would associate with summer. There were definitely a few recipes I'd like to try, but overall it didn't blow me away. The photographs are very pretty, but I could do with less pictures of the author in a bikini.
