Frankie Weller has had an easy going life. All she wanted was to pay the bills on time. Working at Vinnie's Restaurant was keeping her in Las Vegas - barely. Money was always going to be low, and her dreams of being a showgirl were all but a faded memory. Settling into the life of a waitress was becoming her new, easy going life. That was until the one man creates chaos in her world.

Curtis Andrews is the drummer for Night Fire, America's hottest rock ensemble, and Las Vegas's favorite sons. His days are filled with performing with his band, drinking heavily and living the life of a rock god. All he wants in his life is a bottle of booze or a set of sticks. That was until Frankie smiled at him.

Frankie never bargained for the events that unfold, and in learning that a rock god has been watching her and crushing on her, she realizes that her life is never going to be the same again.

About the author

T.M. Watkins

TM Watkins lives in Brisbane, Australia with her family. When she's not working or running around after her family, she spends her days contemplating the next adventure for her characters and her nights writing about them. She writes under the pen name xMishx on Wattpad, offering many stories for free. She can also be found on Radish, an exciting new reading app with many great authors.

TM Watkins draws inspiration from everyday life, gazing out the window and frequent loitering around the internet. Writing late at night is fueled by the love of coffee and chocolate. Distraction is found everywhere including but not limited to - the family, the cat, the need for coffee, an itch, a brainwave for a brilliant idea, work, writer's block, social media, temperature, and life in general.

The love of vampires has come from Bram Stoker and Anne Rice, in particular, the movie adaptation of her novel Interview with a Vampire. Other favorite authors include JRR Tolkien, Harper Lee and Sylvain Reynard.

Research is Fundamental

Ugh! Some of this may come off as being nitpicky, and if you're offended, than I apologize. But I'm not sorry because the things that bothered me about this book took away from the joy of reading it.

I was very taken aback that the heroine was ok with the fact that she not only woke up to five strange men in her home, but that she wasn't afraid of them, even though they had started a brawl mere hours earlier. Not one time did she ask how they knew where she lived. Since Curtis could have possibly been called a stalker legally, once she found out he had been coming to her job every weekend for two months, she should have logically thought that he had followed her home at least once. I suppose he could have gotten her address from her employer, but that just doesn't seem plausible. She never asked, so we'll never know how he knew where she lived. It was strange that she just went along for the ride, that she accepted his plan after knowing him for mere hours. I gave the book 3 stars because I enjoyed Curtis' backstory.

There are relatively few things that irritate me more when reading any written work, even a simple Facebook post, that has been poorly researched. We live inn the age of the Now. Information, the correct and factual information, is available at an instant. I did not know anything about this author before I read this work. I quickly discovered that the author wasn't American. Now don't get me wrong, I have nothing against anti-American writer. One of my current favorites is Billy London of the UK. She writes for a wide audience, but she sets her stories in England and places she has either been to before or is familiar with through her travels or research. Ms. Watkins didn't do much research and it's obvious. Her usage of words like bin when she should have said garbage can or waste paperbasket or carpark instead of parking lot were mildly annoying. Those were just a few examples, but those are not words or phrases native speakers of American English use. The most egregious is when she said supreme court judge instead of Supreme Court Justice. It irked the life out of me. Google is your friend.

I will read at least the next book in the series.

Well it started great and then it went down hill. Alex without protection! Pregnancy straight away and then marrying so quick.....just totally unrealistic. Shame.
