Getting good

Usually I try to keep my dislike for the characters separated from my opinion of a book, but I just couldn't. Everyone in this book is brain dead and I'm not talking about the zombies, being plain stupid in a survival book is just not something I can tolerate, so a big fat NO to this one.

Interesting take on zombies. I like the various characters and shifting between stories. I like that there were good guys who continue to try and do the right thing. This one was along the line of TWD in my opinion. It has zombies, good guys and bad guys. Pretty typical for the genre. The series skirts saying this is a biblical type issue but alludes to it.

This one was better than the first. I have a hatred for David. I don’t particularly like how the women in this book are written. I wish we had a strong female lead. I like the world and the zombies and the change in human nature under extreme circumstances. Overall I am invested enough to continue the series.

This was the second book in this series. This book has a lot of action in it. It focus's mainly on the evil doings of one of the characters. I enjoyed the first book in the series much more. I'm also not a great fan of short books.

And the story continues. I am looking forward to starting the third installment to the Empty Bodies series. I am enjoying Zach Bohannon style of story telling. Probably one of the best Zombie novels I have read,

Further mayhem in book two of this zombie series. There are surprises and definitely action, where the well-developed characters battle the growing horde of 'empties'.
A good sense of place and questions about why it happened.

Zombies and blood
Well I dove in after enjoying the first book. I am thinking the author is a walking dead fan as I see lots of little things taken from that world. The writing is redundant at times, but entertaining enough I finished it.

Very good book,
I really enjoyed this book it wasn't like most books that always end well, as mad as it made me for what happened, I still wanted to read next book.

I enjoyed reading this book but of course was disappointed when the story continues on to another book that I have to pay to read.

This book was ok for reading on my wok lunch breaks. I haven't read about the book but I would assume it's YA, which is fine as light reading. I'll continue with the series.

The hospital, the mall and the supermarket are places to avoid in the zombie world, But no lets go to the hospital. Love the imagination and imagery.

***SLIGHT SPOILERS***
Ok, the thing about this book.....*sigh*. 1) Everyone comments on this, AND I GET WHY THE AUTHORS DO THIS, but it is annoying; I can't stand when an author spreads the story across 5-6 books. Just put it in 1 or 2 books! I get it; they do it to make money. So, make the first one free, then charge for the rest of the series all at once. To charge $3 for every step of the way is just ANNOYING. Which leads to 2) I read the first book, liked it enough to sign up for the free second book, which I liked, until the ending, and now that I have to pay to continue, I'm out. The ending of book 2 was so stupid that I don't even care about the rest of the series. *slight spoiler* The main villain is a COMPLETE psychopath (there's a VERY, "The Walking Dead" type feel to the Empty Bodies books) and is absolutely hell bent on killing one of the main good guys. He gets the chance to kill him, and even kills a BUNCH of OTHER people, but leaves this guy alive, FOR SOME REASON. (The reason is to sell book 3.) But within the plot of the story, it makes zero sense. He didn't even pull one of those, "miraculously at the last second something happens" cliches, to let the good guy escape. He just decides that he'd rather have his villain lock him in a room, along with 3 other people that he REALLY wants to kill, and instead kill a bunch of "B-side" characters. It's just SUCH a terrible plot choice that I immediately checked out and was like, "yeah, I'm out." If Zach Bohannon had just asked for money to continue after book 1, he probably would have gotten me.
Up until that point, the books were well written at least, if a little cliche and predictable. There's decent action and a good pace to everything.

Awesome! This book is literally an improved version of The Walking Dead!
Action, Drama, Zombies (I mean Empties), Racism, and good ole fashion Gore. What else can one ask for! There are times I do not know whether the humans are the monsters or the zombies. The characters are believable in a post-apocalyptic society, and that is scary. I look forward to the next book and I hope Will kicks David's ass! Read these books to find out what I am talking about.

I received an early copy of Adaptation to read, and found that Bohannon did a stellar job of following up the first installment in the Empty Bodies series. This was a fast-paced sequel that did a phenomenal job of following up on the characters who readers grew so attached to in Book 1, and then sweeping readers along for a twisting plot forward.
The one warning is that readers probably won't want to jump into this one without reading the Empty Bodies 1, so if you've just stumbled onto Bohannon's work and are thinking about reading this one first, just order books 1 and 2 at once so that you can get to know the characters and what's going on in Book 1 before jumping into this story :)
On the whole, the book is a lot of fun, so if post-apocalyptic action or horror is in your alley of interest, with or without zombies, I absolutely recommend it!

Great Story
This story just keeps getting better and better. I found myself sitting on the edge of my seat more times than one. Even got light headed a few times realizing I'd been holding my breath in anticipation for what I assumed was coming. It's a great series, one I plan to read to the very last book because for one reason, there are some characters I'd like to personally feed to the "Emptys". Grab your copies of books one and two and tell me if you feel the same way. I bet you will. It's definitely apparent that in times of calamity there will be evil but this book has taken evil to a new depth. Great job Zach, great job!

I don't know if it's because I now live in Tn and can actually picture I 40 completely covered with Empties and vehicles.. I can say I adore this series and I am now on book 3. If you like a great apocalypse and throw in the Empties (zombies) than you will enjoy this series. Of course I live right off the interstate and now think of how we would fair trying to get from Middle Tn to East Tn I don't think we could make it not with the amount of Semi trucks and Monterey Mountain! So thanks Mr.Zach for my obsession with my demise from the Empties.

Still want more!!
Wow! This book takes off with all kinds of action. I love that it continues on with great characters both good and bad while adding a new storyline. It made me realize that zombies might not be the worst evil in a zombie apocalypse. I hope the next book is published soon!

I knew David was a real piece of shit in the first book, but this book made me realize David is worse than 'The Governor' character from The Walking Dead and that is BAD. I'm kind of pissed that I've been left hanging again.... but pissed in a good way! You go Zach, you've got me hooked and I cannot wait to read the third installment!!

Definitely graphic, which is to be expected in a book like this. The main characters are progressing well as they go, becoming more interesting and likeable. The story is becoming more complex, with many twists and quite a lot of violence and another cliffhanger to get you into the next book.
A good series, very enjoyable.
