Rate this book
Gabrielle Boudreaux, the youngest of the Boudreaux clan, is a single mother of her young son, Sam. Running a Bed and Breakfast at the family plantation house at the edge of the Mississippi River, Gabby loves her inn, her boy and her family. She meets new people every day, and takes pride in the house and land that has been in her family for more than five generations. Blessed beyond measure, she’s also lonely, although she would never admit that to anyone. Until Rhys O’Shaughnessy walks through her door, brooding and wounded and the sexiest thing she’s ever laid eyes on.

Rhys has been at the top of his game as a major league pitcher for the Chicago Cubs for more than ten years. Baseball is in his blood. But when he tears his rotator cuff and has to sit a season out, he retreats to Inn Boudreaux at the recommendation of his cousin, Kate, to heal and work toward building his shoulder back to perfect shape with only one goal in mind: to return to the game he loves. But he didn’t plan on being utterly charmed by a devastatingly beautiful woman and her baseball-loving son.

When Rhys’ shoulder has healed and he’s given the chance to return to his team, will he leave the family he’s come to love behind, or will he stay with Gabby and Sam?

She was a contradiction.
So easy to please and yet only
a few could ever truly understand
why she was what she was.
And even less would love her for it.

This is the second book in the series and I'm already OBSESSED. For starters, it's in NEW ORLEANS .. I am literally planning on making a trip out there. Why take the trip? I have not only fell in love with the dialogue, characters, story, but the SETTING. I'm literally S-O-L-D .. I belong in the FRENCH QUARTER. This momma bear is pretty bada*s if you ask me. Gabby is an incredible mother and a pretty incredible woman. She has some pretty great attributes such as that hard working - ICanDoIt - Don'tMessWithMe attitude. Rhys wasn't necessarily what she was missing however he completed this family unit. The story had a great flow to it and the only thing I didn't like was the number of pages .. I NEED MORE!

She's the only girl in my world,
that's for damn sure.
She can't sing worth a damn,
and her dance moves in the seat are questionable.

Before I start...

After a shoulder injury puts baseball player, Rhys O'Shaughnessy out of the game for a season, he takes a vacation to New Orleans, where his cousin Kate is. There, he is automatically taken with Gabby, the owner of the Inn, and her son Sam. Gabrielle Boudreaux is a single mother who never takes time for herself. But when Rhys shows up and takes an interest, she has to dust off those flirting skills she hasn't used in years to get her man.

Le Sigh, Rhys was just wonderful. I loved his character and how sweet he was with both Gabby and Sam. He was so amazing with Sam and the two of them together were absolutely adorable. I loved how he would play with Gabby's hair whenever she was near and just had a need to always be touching her, it was so cute and made my lady parts feel things.
"There are seven billion smiles in this world, and yours is my favorite."

Gabby was such a strong character and I really admired her. She had the help of her family but she did a lot on her own and handled it really well. Being hurt in the past, she was careful to trust Rhys fully but she let him in, despite her fears, and I liked how she didn't fight the connection too much.

This book is full of love, support, a little suspense and I couldn't get enough of it. Rhys was a charmer so watch out, ladies! He will charm the panties right off of you. I wasn't even done this book before I was already looking forward to the next one. Now I will just sit here and wait, I guess...

Just because,

4 Sweet Stars.

Gabby is a single mother, whose life revolves around her son and her inn. She doesn't indulge in relationships not only because her son is her priority but also because she had a bad experience with Sam’s father.
Rhys is a baseball player, in the peak of his career who suffers an injury. So his cousin tells with to take his rest in New Orleans, where everything is quiet and her sister-in-law owns an inn.
Gabby wasn't look for love. Rhys was probably looking for it even less. But under the whimsical feeling of New Orleans, life throws them a curveball that neither of them expected. And other times what you believe you don't want, is exactly what you need.

Kristen Proby is one of my favorite auto-buy authors. Just like some authors in my “immediate buy” list she’s my safe bet: I know that her books will always leave me with a happy feeling or that they are great to take me out of a book slump. If you're looking for a romance completely original her books are not for you. Her storylines were written thousands of times and you know pretty much what’s going to happen in the first chapter. But fear not, even with some predictably, her writing, her character and the way she makes you live a story, you’ll fall in love with his book regardless.
If you need a simple, engaging and “real” romance, this book (and this series) are a great choice.

Characters Development: Rhys was just wonderful. An all-around good guy that knew what he wanted and went after it. Gabby was really sweet as well, she was scared and a little insecure which made sense with her past, but she was an amazing mother. Sam was the cutest kid ever! I can’t wait for Declan’s book, especially because I have a soft spot for musicians.

This book was so damn sweet!!

She’s gotten under my skin. That’s all there is to it.

Gabrielle Boudreaux learned young not to trust men, when she told her boyfriend at nineteen that she was pregnant and he told her to get rid of it, that the only reason he told her he loved her was to get in her pants. With the help of her wonderful family she gave birth to a son and seven years later she’s running a successful family inn, her life filled with her family and her son, Sam, who is her world. Men hasn’t been part of their lives and when she meets famous baseball player Rhys O’Shaughnessy, who is also Kate’s cousin, she doesn’t know how to handle the explosive chemistry between them.

Rhys lives for baseball and he’s determined to use his time in New Orleans to heal from his shoulder injury and get back in playing form. When he sees Gabby he’s immediately attracted to her and can’t help but be charmed by the beautiful but prickly Gabby and her adorable son who is a great fan of his.

But if they give into the feelings between them what happens when Rhys is all healed and needs to return to his life in Chicago? Will baseball come first like it always has, or will he choose Gabby and Sam?

He’s polite and sweet and sets my libido on fire.
And now I have a sexy, single man living under my roof for God knows how long, being nice to my son, tucking my hair behind my ear, and I’m going to die from sexual frustration.
Because there’s no way I’m having sex with Rhys O’Shaughnessy.

I really liked Gabby. She’s an amazing mother, very independent and stubborn. Because of Sam’s father she’s very distrustful of men and it understandably took her a while to open up to Rhys and to give him a chance. Her fierce need to take care of things herself did get a bit grating near the end, but being the youngest of six siblings and falling pregnant so young was bound to leave a mark.

She’s pushed everything around me out of focus, even baseball, and no one has ever done that for me before.
It scares me and exhilarates me at the same time

Now Rhys I LOVED. He was sweet, kind, bossy and simply wonderful with both Gabby and Sam. From the beginning he was so infatuated with Gabby, but also so patient, slowly getting past her defences. I loved how he had no problems with PDA, how he couldn’t be near her without touching her, and it had me swooning all the way. I also loved how protective and possessive he was over her. He was so great with Sam, liking to spend time with him and not because he was interested in Gabby.

“I love you, Gabby. You’re every hope, every dream I’ve ever had, and I didn’t even know it until I met you. No matter what happens in our life, every day I get to be with you is the greatest day of my life.”

The romance was so sweet, tender and very spicy especially with Rhys’ dirty talk. There was a little bit of angst near the end, but it was to be expected and I love that it wasn’t because Rhys was afraid of commitment. He’s a mature man who knew that he loved both Gabby and Sam and was determined to have a future with them.

I love cute kids in books and little Sam was freaking adorable. I just loved this little chatterbox and his wealth of “did you know” facts :-D I really love the close knit of the Boudreaux siblings, they are all amazing.

I can’t believe how much I’m loving this series and author. This series is the perfect blend of sweet and sexy romance. Highly recommended.

Easy Charm is the second book in the new Boudreaux series. This is Gabrielle Boudreaux and Rhys O’Shaughnessy story.

Gabby is the youngest sibling of the Boudreaux clan. She is a single mother to 7 year old Sam and she runs her own business an Inn from the family Plantation. She spends all her time with her son, working or spending time with her fab family.

Rhys comes to stay at the Inn at the recommendation from Kate to rest and heal his shoulder to save his baseball career. He soon settles in with Gabby and little Sam as Sam hero worships Rhys.

Soon their relationship is full of lust and sex Rhys can be bossy which Gabby loves as Gabby does not have much experience with sex and Rhys just loves teaching her new moves. Feelings soon develop and they become a close family, what will happen when Rhys goes back to Chicago?

I love the closeness of this family they are not only brothers and sisters but best friends as well, I love the big brother protectiveness I find that so sexy in guys.

Easy Charm is full of romance, steam, sweet tender moments, funny banter and as always with a KP book great family get togethers and some suspense. I always devour a KP and they are always a 5* read for me.

Looking forward to Easy Melody - Declan and Callie who we meet briefly here. CAN'T WAIT.

Single mother romance...so OFC she has been fucking celibate for the past 7 years!

I just couldn't take that anymore. That is a pet peeve of mine and I tried to ignore it and just read on because they are actually cute together but that detail bugged the crap outta me and I couldn't enjoy the book so I decided to quit. Plus all the talk about the hero being a past manwhore didn't help.

I don't know why authors think they have to make their single mothers stay celibate since the birth of their kid. It's been 7 long years and the father was an asshole who told her to "get rid of it" so it's not like she's pinning away for him or grieving his tragic death or anything. It would not have made her into a whore if she had a couple relationships in those 7 years.

And I recall reading Easy with You by this author earlier this year and in that the hero was a single father and he had no trouble having one night stands since the very tragic death of his wife! He had more reason to stay a celibate than this heroine. But nooooo.... he's a guy and needs sex. Duh.

4 - This isn’t permanent... Stars!

Loved this one right up to the last 25%, as a reader you can tell where the story is going to go pretty quickly, but the author chose to turn Gabby into a hormonal teen rather than have her communicate with Rhys, considering her background I understood her reaction, but to then bitch to her siblings that he wasn’t communicating with her when she had essentially been pushing him away for a few weeks just annoyed me.

"Your heart and my heart are very old friends."

Gripe aside, I pretty much read it in one sitting, Proby’s writing and for the most part characterization were spot on, once again I loved the Hero, and wanted to be friends with the Heroine, the Boudreaux family feature at pertinent points, and as mentioned in my previous review, if you loved the With me series, this one will fit well, as the author has essentially taken all the good parts from that moved it to New Orleans, and called them the Boudreaux’s.

Musician Declan Boudreaux is up next, and I am pretty sure it will be another enjoyable reading experience for me!

It's Kristen Proby so it is sweet falling in love with steamy hot intimacy...and it is pretty damn good!

Book 2 in the Boudreaux series gives the romance story of Gabrielle Boudreaux, the baby of the bunch! This young single mom has her life together with a successful inn and a great supportive family around her. She had no idea how much she was missing until a smokin' hot bball player shows up for some R&R after sustaining a shoulder injury. Ryhs is hot...really hot...but more than that he is a true gentleman with a great heart!

So while completely predictable, I still loved the romance and the claiming of hearts and bodies. Proby can bring the heat so well! There are some whats that may need answered and some unsettled drama but for the most part the story flowed with passion and all that "southern" fall-in-love charm! looking forward to more of the Boudreaux siblings!

4 “Good girl” “inner flirt” “Look at me.” “trust” “not a baby” Kisses

So…if I thought I loved the Boudreaux Series before…Easy Charm made me fall so much harder. Good freaking gravy…where do I even start?!!? When I read the epilogue of Easy Love that I was in love with the set up…it was perfect…and I just knew with Kristen’s brain behind it…the execution could send me over the moon. And I was totally correct. So…million dollar question – do you need to read Easy Love to read Easy Charm? Not really…but it’s helpful. The Boudreaux Series is shaping up to be similar to the With Me in Seattle Series…each book builds off the other…and you get to know the characters better, but they could all be read as standalones. But if you’re a series whore like me…then you definitely want to read these books in order – plus they’re ah-mazingly addictive and I highly encourage you to fall in love with the Boudreaux’s like I have! ;-)

Gabrielle Boudreaux…do not let her size fool you, Gabby has more strength in her little pinky than her 6’4” brothers do in most of their body. She’s a pint sized fierce little ball of sass and cuteness and I loved every second of her. While she may be the baby of the Boudreaux family, she had to grow up pretty fast…motherhood will do that to you, but then again, I think Gabby was just born to be an amazing mom. Samuel Beauregard Boudreaux is one of the most delightful seven year olds I have ever read and that’s totally because of Gabby…her love and dedication to her child shine through in everything she does and I adored that about her. The only other thing Gabby is truly passionate about, aside from her family, is her job…and it’s funny because her job is connected to her family. Turning the home that had been in their family for generations into a successful inn took a lot of hard work on her part and I truly admired that about Gabby, she never wanted to sit back and let other people take care of her. She’s so self-assured and independent and it just makes me love her more…and I know it’s what caught the eye of a certain Cub’s pitcher.

“I’m glad that you do something that makes you so happy.” His arms tighten around me in a firm hug. “You deserve happiness, Gabrielle.”
“So do you,” I reply. “Are you happy?” He doesn’t answer me for a long minute. I finally lean back and look up into his deep green eyes. “Are you?”
“I will be, when I get your sexy ass into the house where I can spend the rest of the twenty hours we have left to ourselves lost in you.” He stands, easily carrying me toward the house. “I’m going to make you scream, baby.”
“I’m not a screamer.” And it didn’t escape me that he didn’t answer my question.
“You’re about to be.”

Rhys O’Shaughnessy…mmmm…even his name does things to me. It might also be because I remember a particular lovely scene where he’s telling Gabby a story with an Irish brogue and that just makes me want to lick him. I have a weakness for men with accents. #PleaseDontJudge :-) Luckily…the accent is just one of many things that is hot about Rhys…from the sexy half smirk to his gorgeous green eyes…to the drool worthy body that baseball has given him, he is sex on a stick and I was in lust with Rhys from the very beginning. He really does live up to the title of the book…I can attest to that – I was charmed, seduced and swooned clear out of my mind and I will turn around and beg for more every day of the week. There is so much to like about Rhys, I don’t even know where to start…he is such a strong man, he’s overcome a lot both personally and professionally and fought hard for what he has. His strength and determination is incredibly sexy and only made me love him more. Rhys is one of those guys that once he puts his mind to it…there is really no talking him out of it and even better, he always gets what he wants. He has such a huge heart and he doesn’t do anything half way…he’s dedicated, kind, sweet, so loving…and yet he has never been in love. But this sexy beast of a baseball player had to fall under the spell of the baby of the Boudreaux family…but I don’t think Rhys stood a chance against Gabby from the start.

‘“Why is this so easy with you?” I ask, staring at the ceiling, waiting for my heart to return to normal.
“Maybe I just know what I’m doing?” he replies sarcastically.
“Well, you do, yes.” I chuckle and turn on my side, facing him. “But I’m comfortable with you. It’s amazing, but it’s also just…easy.”
“Because we trust each other,” he replies and gently runs his fingertip down the bridge of my nose. “I feel like I’ve known you a long time. This might sound silly, but I feel like your heart and my heart are very old friends.”
I blink at him as my heart swoons. But he’s exactly right. I trust him. I feel like I’ve known him forever.
This feels like…home.’

Gabby and Rhys are so perfectly paired…the way they complement each other is just like two puzzle pieces that just click together. I don’t even know how else to describe it…you’ve got Gabby who has very limited experience with men and Rhys who…well, he’s a pro baseball player, he’s not angel – but he’s not interested in another chick just looking for fame and fortune. The way they came together was so natural and simple…but I think what won me (and Gabby) over the most was the way Rhys was with her son Sam. Talk about a quick way to send a girl to swoonville…watching a sexy man be absolutely adorable with a kid – let me just dissolve into a puddle of mush real quick. Gabby brought out a softer side of Rhys…and I love how he doted on her, it’s something she’s never experienced and truly deserves. Seeing his tenderness for her…how gentle he could be…how much he loved to touch her, especially her hair…it instantly made me smile and just did wonderful things to my heart. And then he’d turn around and say something incredibly hot and dirty…and well, clearly, I’m just a lost cause when it came to the way Rhys felt for Gabby.

“Fuck me, you’re beautiful.”
She tries to look shyly down, but I catch her chin in my finger. “No, don’t look away from me. You are the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen. There are seven billion smiles in this world, and yours is my favorite.”
Her smile widens. “Thank you. That makes me feel…special.”
“You are special.” I kiss her forehead, then her nose. “You are beautiful.”
“You are charming.”

The beauty of a Kristen Proby book, for me, is the falling. It’s so subtle…so effortless, like I don’t even realize it’s happening until all of a sudden my heart feels like it’s going to burst from all the love that I have for these two beautiful people. It’s one of the feelings I live for and one of the many reasons why I read romance and Kristen has totally and completely perfected it. It’s why she continues to be one of my favorite authors…I just can’t get enough of the feels she gives me! And the goodness so doesn’t stop there…please, we’re just getting started – there were so many laugh out loud moments in Easy Charm, I practically had a smile plastered on my face the entire time. That’s another one of many joys about Kristen’s books…I could probably die from an overload of good feelings. Don’t get me wrong, I do love a good angsty book, but I love a good, super sexy romance just as much. And not that there wasn’t angst in Easy Charm…it’s just not to the point where I feel like my heart is going to be ripped out. I will say, the angst with Gabby and Rhys felt like a storm brewing that I knew was going to get bad but as it continued to build, the knot in my stomach kept get tighter and tighter...I almost wanted to hide until it was all over. A good portion of that was due to Gabby’s actions. It wasn’t like I was mad at her, because I got her reluctance and fear…but I just kinda wanted to put my hands on my hips and give her a dirty look for it.

‘“I love you, Gabby. You’re every hope, every dream I’ve ever had, and I didn’t even know it until I met you. No matter what happens in our life, every day I get to be with you is the greatest day of my life.”
Tears are now rolling unchecked down my cheeks. I can’t take my eyes off of him.
“You make me believe that love isn’t hard because you love everyone in your life so effortlessly.” He cups my jaw in his hands, his fingers mingle in with my hair, and his thumbs brush the tears form my face.’

The ending snuck up on me…I was in my happy little bubble and could have kept reading about Gabby and Rhys for oh…I dunno, forever…but I got my beautiful big red bow happy ending – more than I ever could have dreamed for Gabby and Rhys…and it was perfect. So, my favorite part about ending one of Kristen's books…well, the only good part about it ending (because I never want them to end – but I digress)…is finding out who is going to be next. And I was not disappointed!!! It's Declan! Gabby and Declan have a…special relationship. Declan himself is very unique…he’s not like Eli and Beau, but that doesn’t make him any less dreamy…he’s the musician and he’s just a more toned down version of their extreme alpha male…but the hints that got dropped about his book…well, as usual, I’m dying for his book! I will be desperately awaiting Easy Melody!

Over in a flash...

I didn't mean to listen to this one so quickly but it completely sucked me in. It was just so easy to listen to. With Sebastian York crooning in my ear and Rachel Fulginiti sweetly charming me, I couldn't help but sit back, relax and enjoy the show...I mean, listen.

I think Gabby deserves a happy ever after, she just makes it bloody hard for everyone around her to help her get it. Sure, she's been a single mum from the start but she hasn't had to do it alone. Her family are there for her whenever she needs them but she's determined to juggle all her balls alone. Honestly, I did not understand her keeping secrets. Both of the ones she kept were WHOPPERS!! Gabby and her son's safety were at risk for one and the other is just plain bloody RUDE!! I get her hesitation, but geez, I wanted to reach in and lecture her about honesty, trust and the true meaning of love.

Holy shamoly, I absolutely LOVED Rhys. Not enough words to tell you how good this man is but I'll narrow it down to he's the full package. He was so sweet and forgiving when I myself am not sure I would have been.

Loved the family connections, Gabby's son was a sweetheart (even with the number of windows he smashed) and the additional characters were interesting.

I'm loving the Boudreaux's and I will definitely be going on in this series.

Kristen Proby definitely knows how to write a hero. I love single parent romance and this one was perfect in so many ways. Even the angst wasn't too heavy. I adored Rhys and fell in love with this couple and funny sweet Sam too. I love the setting of this series being in New Orleans. Louisiana girl here and it just had a homey feeling. I will eagerly read the next as soon as possible to get caught up.

♦ 4 "Stay" Stars! ♦

Easy Charm is the second book in Kristen Proby's Boudreaux series, and this time follows the story of Gabby Boudreaux, single mother of cute Sam, and Rhys O’Shaughnessy, a smokin' hot baseball player and Kate's cousin (the female protagonist of the first book).

I quite like Kristen Proby's writing and with this book she gave her readers a sweet love story between two "quite different" characters. I liked that we still know about the whole Boudreaux family and the relationship they have with little Sam.

I am not saying that I didn't like the love story (some HOT scenes in there, Proby!) but I rated this book with 4 stars because I found Gabby to be a little bit annoying. Sometimes she behaves like a baby and it got in my nerves, really! I do believe Rhys and Sam are the ones that made me continue reading.

Anyway. Still the writer gives us a sweet and funny story that ends with a vision of a beautiful family. I can't wait to read Declan's book!

3.5 Charmingly sweet, predictable but enjoyable stars

This is the second book in the Boudreaux series, and if you’re a fan of Kristen Proby, then you’ll know what to expect going in – a sweet, funny and passionate romance that is full of gorgeous moments with very little angst, leaving you all happy and fluffy at the end. That’s exactly what I wanted, and it was exactly what I got, and I love that she never lets me down.

“You’re every hope, every dream I’ve ever had, and I didn’t even know it until I met you.

Gabrielle is the youngest of the Boudreaux siblings and she lives at the family plantation, which she has turned into an Inn. She works hard and has made her business a success, pretty much on her own, and she loves every minute of it. But her biggest joy in life is her seven year old son, Sam. She has been a single mother since the moment her boyfriend sperm donor left when he discovered she was pregnant, and she has raised a smart, happy and respectful boy. She is happy and she loves her life, although she does secretly wish that she had somebody to share it with.

Rhys O’Shaughnessy was introduced in the previous book, Easy Love, as the cousin of heroine, Kate. He is a professional baseball player who has injured his pitching arm, and Kate suggests he come down and stay at Gabby’s inn while he recuperates. His goal is to take some time out while working hard to rehabilitate his shoulder and get back to the game he loves as soon as possible. He never expected to fall for his gorgeous host and her adorable son, but how can they make a relationship work when their lives are at opposite ends of the country?

From the moment you start reading, you can see exactly where the story is going. In fact, the moment Rhys injured his shoulder in the last book, you could see where the story was going. But it doesn’t matter. Sometimes you need to read a book that is fun and easy and gorgeously romantic that you know won’t tear your heart out, and this is that book.

“There are seven billion smiles in this world, and yours is my favorite.”

Gabby and Rhys are attracted to each other immediately, but things between them develop slowly. They become friends, but they don’t hide the way they are feeling, and their relationship progresses really sweetly. Gabby is a great heroine – she’s strong and stubborn and she is determined to do things on her own, and when Rhys comes into her life he completely swept off her feet. He is such a good guy and an absolute sweetheart (but a bad boy in the bedroom which we all love)! He cares so much about Gabby and Sam, and he easily becomes a part of their lives, and I love the honest and no-nonsense way they come together.

“Why is this so easy with you?” I ask, staring at the ceiling, waiting for my heart to return to normal.
This feels like…home.

The story is written in dual POV – mainly from Gabby’s perspective, but we get to know what Rhys is thinking and feeling as well. It gets you right into the heart of the story and I love that.

As with all of Kristen’s books, in addition to the gorgeous romance, there’s also lots of family time, and I loved the scenes with her siblings. Her sisters are all pushing her to explore what’s happening between her and Rhys, and her brothers are all ridiculously over-protective and funny as all hell as they growl and snarl all over her, and threaten Rhys with bodily harm should he hurt their baby sister. They’re a great bunch, and I’m really looking forward to more from this series. And speaking of which, there’s a nice lead in to the next book of the series featuring Gabby’s musician brother, Declan. Looks like he’s in for a fight to get his girl. Should be a good one!

This is a really enjoyable read. Sweet, romantic and easy with lots of heart, lots of swoon and a nice amount of steamy time. Good fun.

3.5 stars.

Easy Charm is the story of the youngest Boudreaux, Gabrielle. Readers met her and her adorable young son, Sam, in book one Easy Love.

Speaking of Easy Love, readers of that one may remember that at the very end of that book there is an epic scene between Eli the star of Easy Love and Rhys O’Shaughnessy, the star of this one.

Easy Charm has Rhys recovering from a shoulder injury, an injury which means this major league baseball player must fight to turn to his only love, baseball. Rhys’ recovery location of choice… Gabby’s bed and breakfast. I want to pause here and say that Ms. Proby masterfully put the reader in the life of this converted plantation as her vivid descriptive writing allows the reader to see a mental image of this breathtaking landscape.

Rhys and Gabby have a spark that flows through the pages, one that is in stark contrast to the opening prologue that will make your heart break for young Gabby.

As Rhys falls for Gabby so will you with lines like this:

“Gabby,” he whispers, his eyes pinned to my lips. “I’m going to kiss you.”

And with this…it is clear Rhys has never felt this before:

“you’ve pushed everything else out of focus”

I loved the interactions between Rhys and young Sam as Ms. Proby proves yet again she can write children that will touch your heart!

I loved witnessing Rhys and Gabby’s fall for each other, both being pushed to accept this is so different than what they have felt for anyone in the past.

“You are pushing me outside of my comfort zone,” I whisper not realizing until I hear the words that I’m speaking aloud.

“Nothing good ever came from comfort zones.”

Yet again Ms. Proby nails the family dynamic. I think this may be the thing I loved most in this book, watching the siblings interact and at 30% in I was again reminded why I love the oldest Boudreaux, yes Beau stole the show for me!

Even with all the cast already in play to love, Ms. Proby also introduced new players, Neil one of Rhys’s teammates has a few scenes that spoke to the life of a major league player and how easy it can be to get caught up in all the hype. P.S. I do hope Neil gets a novella one day.

About a third of the way through this book, the men have a scene that was so fun to witness unfold and it reminded my yet again why I loved Eli, he is just too funny sometimes.

I would be remiss if I didn’t say that I love the cover to this book. The book covers for this series are truly beautiful to look at and are so well done!

I won’t tell you how this one ends but I will say OMG I love the scene at Wrigley field!

I can’t wait for Declan and Callie in Easy Melody. I am very much looking forward to the rest of this series!

Review by Lisa Kane

Rhys O'Shaughnessy is getting some rest for his torn rotator cuff. He's been a pitcher for the Chicago Cubs for the last 10 years, but he won't be joining the team until the Spring. He never thought he would play forever, but he wants to go out when he is ready, not because he is benched from an injury. His cousin, Kate, is now in New Orleans and encourages him to stay at her boyfriend's sister's inn. She tells him it is perfect for rest and relaxation.

Gabby Boudreaux owns and runs the inn. She's a single mom to her son Sam. The douche bag sperm donor, Colby, ran off when she told him she was pregnant and signed away his rights to his son.

"If you think I'm going to ruin my life because you can't keep your legs together you have another thing coming."
"Excuse me?" I jump to my feet and bury my finger in his chest, royally pissed off now.
"There were two of us there, Colby. I'm no slut. You were my first."
"So you said."

Between running her business, cooking, baking and taking care of her son, she has little free time. And by free time I mean men. Her last lover was years ago-her son's father. So when Rhys comes into her life-it's like a whirlwind.

Both feel that attraction, but Gabby knows his stay is temporary. No sense setting herself up to fall again. But that doesn't make her want him like crazy.

And now I have a sexy, single man living under my roof for God knows how long, being nice to my son, tucking my hair behind my ear, and I'm going to die from sexual frustration.

But Rhys is just smitten with her and it's not just her-he is crazy about her son Sam. Of course, the fact that Sam idolizes Rhys doesn't hurt.

Rhys is a good guy, but Gabby has reason to doubt that he would be interested in anything permanent with her. And she's not alone. Her brother Beau is protective of her and butts in a few too many times.

"I've done nothing but what I'm supposed to. I am a damn good mom, and I'm damn good at running this inn, and damn it, if I want to kiss a man, I'll damn well do it."

It's going to take a lot of time and kisses and support for Rhys to convince Gabby he's here to stay. Especially when he needs to leave unexpectedly and Gabby thinks he's running scared.

"Men leave." I raise my head and look him right in the eyes. "Men leave. I don't trust that any man is going to stick around for any significant length of time, Rhys. Because they don't."

Can Rhys convince Gabby that he's the real deal? Or will she think this player is playing her?

"When you smile in that sweet way you do just for me, I swear I can see the next fifty years of my life."

"Sinceriously" (read the book and this word will become a real favorite) this is a fantastic and charming contemporary romance with a side of sports-related storyline. Rhys O'Shaughnessy (love that name) is an injured Chicago Cubs baseball pitcher. While rehabbing, he stays at Gabby Boudreaux's historical bed & breakfast. Gabby and her young son soon steal his heart, and he steals theirs as well. Full of witty dialogue, priceless quotes that will charm you and have readers falling in love with the whole cast of characters.

Each book in this series can be read as a standalone -- but you'll miss out on some wonderfully entertaining stories if you pass over a single one. These are the kind of books I classify as heartwarming, comfortable moments of reading pleasure -- and there's plenty of heat to keep you warm, too!

I can get the insta love but the cheesiness of this book was too much for me. Everything is just SO fast and rhys isn't a relatable character at all because the perfection of everything that he does simply doesn't make any sense. I actually like all the characters especially Sam but this book felt really flat and I usually like a lot Kristen's books. All the subplots were awful and pregnancy and marriage?? Seriously? Ugh, very disappointed.

Easy Charm is the second in the wonderful Bordeaux family in the spicy area of New Orleans, our story takes a different setting in a refurbished hotel that features an olden day Southern mansion and slave cottages that brings new life to this romance....

What a whopper of a story, and I just didn't want to put this one down in any way. Easy Charm takes us to a different setting than the city of New Orleans. The setting is close to the city but out a ways to offer a different feel to the story. I truly adored this book, especially in having quite a bit of love for all three characters.

So drumroll while I introduce these lovely people:

Gabrielle Boudreaux, our heroine of the story, she runs an inn that features a refurbished plantation house that has been in their family for generations. She has a young son that she has had to raise on her own.
Sam, son to Gabrielle, a charmer, adores baseball and is always on the lookout for a new adventure
Rhys O’Shaughnessy, our gorgeous and fun hero, carefree and laid back, a famous pro baseball player, injured and looking to recover and Gabby's inn seems perfect.

Gabby is such a loving mother and is completely devoted to her son. When she was just a teenager, she found out she was pregnant and her boyfriend wanted her to abort it. But Gabby could never do that and was shocked that a boy she loved would be so cruel to her. So Gabby decides to raise her son all on her own and with the loving support of her family, she does so. She knows that it will be a hard road, but so worth it. Now her son is seven years old, always getting into mischief, but Gabby and Sam adore each other. When Rhys comes to stay with them for a few weeks, sparks fly between the three. Sam adores Rhys and seeing these two together is so wonderful, they will just make you smile so MUCH!!! Then we have the chemistry between Gabby and Rhys, which is pretty powerful. Now Gabby is pretty lonely and has been for years, but we see what a strong bond they have together. Rhys is such an honorable hero as well. I just adored him so much especially in his manners toward Gabby and Sam. I like that he isn't your typical playboy/manwhore sports player. He isn't afraid of commitment or hard work when it comes to making a relationship work and he does that for Gabby and Sam.
I love you, Gabby. You’re every hope, every dream I’ve ever had, and I didn’t even know it until I met you. No matter what happens in our life, every day I get to be with you is the greatest day of my life.
The only downside to this story is a portion of the last part of the book (I won't spoil, I promise) but I didn't care for how Gabby reacts and how she doesn't trust Rhys more. It really broke my heart to see them struggle through this hurdle, that didn't need to be such a hurdle if only open and honest communication had been involved. However despite my issue with this, and even though I understood why she would have an issue, it was a bit too over the top for my liking. But I will say that this book ROCKS despite my issues, so pick this series up, you will have fun I promise!! A truly heartfelt journey of sacrifice, love and a determination that conquers all!!

I listened to the audio version of this book and was only a matter of minutes before I was hooked. Professional baseball player staying at a B&B to recuperate from an injury meets a gorgeous single mum and her baseball mad son. How could I not enjoy this book?!

Gabby fell in love as a teenager with the boy she thought loved her back just as much. A positive pregnancy test popped the love bubble and she was left heart broken when he decided that was not the life he wanted.

Eight years later Gabby is running a B&B on her families plantation. Despite being a single mum, she has not raised him alone. Gabby has a big loving family, including some very protective brothers, who have been a huge part of Sam’s life too. She is lucky in that regard, having the full support of her family means so much to her.

When Rhys O’Shaughnessy shows up as her new guest for the summer she is blinded sided by how freaking gorgeous and sweet he is. Sam thinks all his dreams have come true when he meets his hero player. Thus begins a very sweet friendship between the two of them.

Gabby is not used to have a man ‘around the house’ and the fact that he is so sweet with Sam and likes to help her out is not her heart any favours either. Before long the comfortable friendship turns into a lot more for both of them.

Rhys is completely taken with Gabby, she is like no other girl he has ever met. Her son is just a bonus, he is a great kid and Gabby is a fantastic mum. He has no idea what to do about all these feelings and how he will juggle a relationship and his baseball when he returns after he is recovered.

Gabby is just waiting for the other shoe to drop. She does not have faith in men and thinks that as soon as Rhys is healed he will leave, never to be seen again. She doesn’t want that though, it will not only break her heart but destroy Sam, who is very attached to Rhys.

Will Rhys be the guy to finally show Gabby just how much she is worth?

I'm a sap for a story where the hero not only falls in love with the heroine, but he also falls in love with her kids.

“Are you sick too?” Sam asks “No, I just want to hold you and your mom,” Rhys says as he pulls us both against him, Sam between us. “I’m kind of worried about you both, and this makes me feel better.” “But Mom isn’t sick,” Sam says with a yawn, and I hold my breath, praying that the vomiting is over. But he doesn’t throw up again; he just snuggles against Rhys’s chest. “No, but she’s worried about you, and that makes me worry about her.” “Oh,” Sam says with a frown. “But Moms are strong.” “Your mom is very strong,” Rhys agrees, still holding my gaze with his over Sam’s head. He reaches up and tucks a loose strand of hair that has fallen out of my ponytail behind my ear. “But even moms need someone to look after them.” “What about you?” I ask softly. “I have everything I want in this bed,”

Rhrys, was that man, and so very swoon worthy! When he played with her hair, oh my goodness, I could almost feel it...!

Now, onto book 5. I’ll get back to Declan, but now I must read about Beau. As the eldest, I hope I find out why he isn’t the CEO.

Excellent Read!

Easy Charm is book number two in author Kristen Proby’s Boudreaux Series and after loving the first book, I was so excited and beyond lucky to get an early copy of Gabrielle and Rhys’ story. It lived up to everything I hoped for these two amazing characters. Emotional , sexy, and sweet, Easy Charm is the whole package.

Youngest in the Boudreaux family, Gabrielle isn’t looking for love. She’s got an adorable little boy, Sam, and runs a Bed and Breakfast, both of which keep her with little time to find love. She’s also been burned before and tends to be a bit leery when it comes to finding a knight in shining armor. But what happens when love comes looking for her? What happens when an eligible, handsome, and successful man comes for a stay at the B&B? Would she have the courage to give it a shot?

The last thing Pro baseball player Rhys O’Shaughnessy wanted to do was not play baseball. He lived it. Breathed it. It was his life. But suffering a potentially career ending injury will help a guy realize pretty quickly that he may need to take a rest. He didn’t know what to expect when he was talked into staying at a Bed and Breakfast on the edge of the Mississippi River but the last thing he expecting was to be immediately taken with the owner. She was beautiful and right away he could tell she was a tough cookie both as a mother and as a the proprietress of her business. He could also tell right away that she had some major walls up. He did love a challenge and would make it his mission to break down those walls. He just hoped she would let him.

The thing I love about Ms. Proby’s writing is that it is a delicious balance of sexy and romantic. This was no exception. Rhys is every bit the gentleman when it came to getting Gabrielle to warm up to him. I loved that he respected her and let her set the pace….but when she gives in and gives him the green light? Holy hotness, Batman!! Gabrielle is a strong woman. She was dealt a tough hand when she was younger but she has learned a lot from that. She’s learned that she can rely on herself and didn’t need a man in her life to validate who she was both as a woman and mother to her son. Speaking of which, Sam is so damn cute and his personality leaps off the pages! Being a mom of a son myself, I truly appreciated the attention Ms. Proby spent on him in the story. After all, he is a part of who Gabrielle is and I just loved their dynamic.

Of course, all good things must come to an end and the little bubble they resided in along the Mississippi pops when Rhys has to face the fact that his injury has healed and he can return to his life. I won’t lie, I was a nervous wreck and wanted nothing more than for them to stay together and I definitely cried some tears along the way. They both deserved happiness so much! Luckily, Ms. Proby writes some of the best endings around. She also wrote some of the hottest almost-at-the-end-of-the-book-and-I-can’t-give-spoilers-about-why-it’s-so-hot sex in this book and I loved it! (trust me, you’ll know what I mean after to read it *insert evil laugh*)

Thank you, Ms. Proby, for once again giving us a story filled with love, delicious heat, and amazing characters. This will continue to be a series I look forward to reading more of!

I needed a GO-TO book & a favorite-fun author. Yep this one fit the bill. Darn cute. There was a really early like/lust in this story.
Rhys is a Chicago Cubs pitcher- he goes to New Orleans to rest and rehab while his injured shoulder heals. Rhys is Kate's cousin. Kate was the in the first book, Easy Love . Gabby is running her family's B&B in New Orleans.
Gabby's the youngest of the Boudreaux siblings. The Prologue is a flash back, 8 years prior.
Gabby gets pregnant by her boyfriend Colby. The rat bastard dumps her & takes off.
Chapter1 picks up with Gabby and her a-dorable 7 year old son Sam. Rhys comes to New Orleans and stays at Gabby's Inn. Oh yeah! There's some instant sparks and chemistry. Rhys never looks back. There's a fair amount of steam between them.
These two start off early and get up close and personal. By the middle of the book, I was concerned that their story peaked too early. Rhys also gets close with Sam-who is a big baseball fan. Rhys is very good with Sam and really enjoys his seven year old antics. How many windows did Sam break?
There is no ow , but a villain that shows up that Gabby seems to handle fairly well.
Gabby and Rhys both keep from saying the L word for a long time. Gabby is concerned that she'll get left again. Rhys is really protective and possessive with Gabby. There were a couple of times that Rhys did the 'mine' routine, that seemed a little staged- like one of the scenes in the Amazon threads "Hero is Crazy in Love and Crazy Jealous/Possessive "
I still kinda liked it though. Rhys is a great guy and Gabby spent a lot of her time wondering when he would leave her.
Gabby's sisters and brothers and her mom were great supporting characters. Great ending- buy the epilogue is actually for the next book, about brother Declan.
**Hey JLC, if you want SHOES, there's Gabby's sister Charly that owns a boutique- that has ....shoes! I liked her and I wonder when she'll get her story? 4 stars.

I love Kristen Proby stories and the families she writes about are perfection for me. The people aren't perfect - but how they are there for each other, supporting and loving each other is what I love the best.

What can I say about Rhys..... he was so attentive and caring towards both Gabby and Sam. I couldn't get enough of him interacting with both of them. And, I'll exercise any day with him for sure!

Loved Gabby and Rhys story, looking forward to Declan next, and all the other siblings to come!

This was a good story. I liked both Gabby and Rhys and their story was enjoyable overall.

Gabby is the youngest of the many Boudreaux siblings. Her family is wealthy and owns ship building business but Gabby didn't want to take part in the business. Instead, Gabby opened a bed & breakfast at the family plantation house. Gabby has a son, Sam, that she had at the age of 19 and has been raising on her own since the father wanted her to have an abortion.

Rhys is a professional baseball player that's not playing for the rest of the season because of an injury. Rhys is the cousin of Kate, the heroine from book #1. Rhys and Kate were raised like siblings because Rhys' parents were killed at an early age and he was raised by Kate's parents. Rhys was a playboy when he was a rookie but lost interest in all that years ago and has been concentrating on his career lately.

Because of his injury, Rhys has a leave from playing baseball for the rest of the season to give him time to heal up. He's close to Kate and wanted to be near her (she just moved to New Orleans to be with Eli) so she suggested he stay at Gabby's bed & breakfast. He agrees and he's quickly enamored as soon as he meets Gabby. It also doesn't hurt that Rhys really likes Sam as well, finding him to be a smart little boy that's pretty good at baseball. Gabby is very attracted to Rhys but hasn't dated much so she does't know how to flirt. Regardless of her inability to flirt, things between Rhys and Gabby go well and quickly turn into a relationship. The relationship progresses nicely but Gabby does have some emotional issues from her past that make her a bit untrusting when it comes to Rhys....which is shown plainly by the drama that shows up towards the end. Thankfully, Rhys had his head on straight and didn't let the drama drive him away so he and Gabby end the story starting a very nice HEA together.

This was an enjoyable story. I liked Gabby for the most part. She was a good heroine but I didn't like her actions/assumptions towards the end of the story. There were "reasons" but I wasn't too hot on the plot device that gave her those reasons either so I wish it had went a different way. Rhys was a really good hero. He may have made a mistake of not being communicative enough but even that I don't fault him for and I really liked him overall. The story was good but it pretty much played out as I expected so it wasn't majorly engaging. I do own the next book in the series so I will be continuing with book #3 next.

* note - I listened to the audio version of this story. There were 2 narrators for this story, a male for the parts from Rhys' PoV and a female for the parts from Gabby's PoV. They both did good jobs.

Yes yes yes yes yes. Not only do I love baseball, but I absolutely loved Gabby and Rhys. They were absolutely the best thin in the series and I know that it's only book 2.

Gabby Boudreaux, the youngest Boudreaux sibling, a single mother to Sam, was betrayed by her ex. Because of that, she has a hard time trusting men, but when Rhys O'Shaughnessy, Kate's cousin comes to live in the inn that Gabby runs due to a baseball injury, he might be the perfect man for her. And I absolutely loved this. Their romance was sweet and fast and adorable and the love that Rhys had for Sam was the best thing in the world to read. I loved them so much and had the best time reading about Gabby and Rhys. And Sam was just the best kid in the world.

I don't know why, but I loved Gabby and Rhys. They were just so loveable. So amazing and adorable I absolutely loved them.

I read this on Audible through the Audible Plus Catalogue
