Tattoo Thief #4

Say it Louder

Rate this book
Dave faces an ultimatum—dump his toxic girlfriend Kristina or break up his band Tattoo Thief. But Kristina won’t go quietly. She has enough dirt to ruin each member of the band, and enough on Dave to send him to jail.
This stinking, bloody threat has haunted him for years.
As Dave hangs in limbo, a new star emerges: Willa, dubbed “The Parking Lot Picasso” by the modern art world. When a magazine feature catapults her to sudden fame, Dave helps her cope with the spotlight when all she’s ever known is the shadows.
Life as a runaway jaded Willa, and it leaves her deeply in doubt of her fifteen minutes of fame. Nothing good lasts forever. Especially not love.
It seems like everyone wants a piece of Willa now. When their music and art worlds collide, Dave's the one person who isn’t trying to take something from Willa, and who might have something to give.
As Dave’s secret is laid bare, a mystery unravels, pointing to his guilt and its dangerous intersection with Willa’s old life on the streets. Both must risk their success and the intense connection to each other to prevent their pasts from defining their future.

SAY IT LOUDER is a stand-alone steamy romance—each book in this companion series is a love story about a different member of the band Tattoo Thief. This novel is about 300 pages/ 75,000 words.

What's up with this book.. Was supposed to be out a year ago?? Would have liked to read the story on the final band member.. Especially since book 3 was left with everything in the balance of Krystina's underlying threats to everyone?...

I feel like I've waited a lifetime to get my hands on Say It Louder. In reality, it's been maybe a year. Either way, I can tell you this: It was worth the wait!

Admittedly, I've only read book three (and now four) of the Tattoo Thief series. But I have loved my time with the men and women associated with the band and have been biting my nails in anticipation of Dave's story. His now ex-girlfriend was/is/will always be kind of a witch. She's been collecting information on the band for years, information that will damage, even ruin lives. And the sick part is, she's not afraid to use it.

Dave, you sweet, sweet man. I kinda didn't like you in Revenge Bound. But if we're being honest, I don't think you liked yourself much either. And don't get me started on 'the one that shall not be named'. We already touched on her a little anyway.

Then you met Willa, and my love for you grew exponentially. You helped her, she helped you, and while neither necessarily wanted to, you fell in love.

I don't believe in much-my world's been turned upside-down in the past couple weeks-but I believe in her.

And then evil Barbie plotted to ruin it all.

Damn that woman!

There was only one thing that irked me about Say It Louder. Just one.
The author used some odd terms to describe the tattoo industry. I've watched way too many episodes of Ink Master, and the lingo has kinda rubbed off on me. Proper terminology is big in the tattoo world. Again, like I said before, it was just something tiny like that.

Over-all...
I LOVED WILLA. Loved her. You know how much I adore a strong heroine. Well, I got one. Willa takes shit from no one, and because of that, I want to hug her anti-hugging self. Dave, like I said, won me over big time. And it was awesome to see the band come together and rally around the man who's held them together for years.

I definitely recommend the entire series (even if I do need to go back and read a few of the books myself.) Heidi has a fabulous way with words. The writing seems almost effortless. I can't wait to read more work by this super talented woman.

About three years ago, I discovered a new author and I decided to read her first book at the time which was Tattoo Thief ( the first book ) in this particular series, and I loved it. After that, this author became part of my auto-buy list. So when I saw that she had Book #4 of the Tattoo Thief up to read, I knew I had to read it and like her previous books. I enjoyed this one. In Say it, Louder, we meet Dave who is the drummer for the band Tattoo Thief - though in saying that he makes a better manager and PR guy rather than drummer. After being given an ultimatum as his toxic girlfriend Kristina has once again overstepped the boundaries and targeted one of the band member's girlfriends - Dave must either be the reason for the band breaking up or get rid of Kristina. The thing is though that Dave fell out of love for Kristina a long time ago, being part of the band for six years she has collected a lot of dirt on the guys. It could destroy them and make them lose everything that they have ever worked for and more so for Dave - he could end up in jail. Willa is a new friend of Stella and Violet's and a budding artist, currently she has stuck to tattoos and street art but when an article gets published about her work - she is offered a gallery showing. Is Willa ready to move up to the big leagues? Willa is stirring up emotions for Dave he hasn't felt for a while, can he be with Willa or will Kristina get her claws into Willa and bring her down too? For Dave, he has always put the band and his friends first - trying to be their protector. Can Willa and his friends show Dave that when they band together, nothing can tear them apart and down not even their darkest secrets coming to light?

For another amazing Rock Star /Artist Romantic Suspense novel, check out Book #4 in the Tattoo Thief series "Say It Louder."

Dave and Willa…. OMG where do I even begin?? Their love story is for the record books!! It’s touching, addicting and so sickeningly sweet, but I loved every single bit of it! I dare you to not fall in love with this story the second you start reading! This is the first book I’ve read in the series, but I didn’t seem to be confused, I think you can get away without reading the others. But after reading this one, I will be one clicking the others immediately!!!!

I was super excited when I saw that after almost two years, we finally getting another Tattoo Thief book. Dave’s Story. Each book in the series is a standalone but it doesn’t hurt to have read the other books in the series.
And not only because it helps to get to know all the characters and the band buy they all are fantastic and I loved each book in the series.
This book of course was no different and I think I so far this was one my favorite books out of all of them … for now.

Liked Everything but Dave

Because I haven't read the Tattoo Thief series, I may be giving Dave a harder time than he deserves. From what I learned of him in Say it Louder, he was a bit of a baby. Sure he rocked it as the manager of the band, but when it came to his own life, he liked to blame everybody around him for his problems rather than himself. That said, I loved Willa and she saved the day for this book! In my opinion anyway.

Dave is a mediocre drummer (his words) in the band Tattoo Thief. As a founding member he's got a lot of say in what the band does, however it seems he's let her personal life overrun him in the past and everybody is sick of it. We start this book in the series with Dave's vapid girlfriend just finishing throwing some other bandmates girlfriends under the bus and now she's gunning for him.

Kristina is the b-word in question and she has some dirt on the sappy Dave, so he lets her control his every move. Even when he thinks she isn't. He needs to lose this dead weight once and for all to move forward with his life and with the band. Then he meets the wise Willa.

Willa is a kid from the streets and pity parties aren't her forte. This girl is tough as nails and doesn't give a rats ass what anybody thinks of her. She has made it from the streets to now having a roof over her head, a job and still time to create her street art whenever the urge hits her.

This girl was awesome and the minute she meets Dave, she is putting him in his place and I loved it. She didn't let him "woe is me" around her and constantly reminded him that his "rich boy problems" aren't really problems at all. He needed to put his big boy pants on once and for all.

So Dave is faced with all sorts of ultimatums from the band, the bitchy girlfriend and even Willa. The entire time reading, I couldn't wait to hear what the big bad secret was and hoped it was worth all the angst. It was. Heidi Joy Trethway did a nice job at building it up and not letting it go away easily.

The chemistry between Dave and Willa was there and got a chance to develop. No insta-love for these two, but a mutual attraction. She is so use to not needing anybody, it takes her a while to realize maybe she finally wants somebody. The book is well written and part of a series, yet I didn't feel lost. If anything, I wanted to know more about these band members and girlfriends that helped support Dave and Willa.

My Favorite

Excellent story of 2 people so totally opposite (or are they?) finding love. The chemistry between Dave and Willa is so believable that they are going on my favorite couples list. I loved Willas' strength and Dave's belief in her.
Great seeing the rest of the band and adding another character to continue the series.

Főszereplők: Dave & Willa
📖44 oldal

Kitartottam a végéig vègül is.

3 . 5 Dave finally Mans up stars!

Source: eARC for Honest Review Courtesy of Author and Inkslinger PR
Genre: NA/Rockstar Romance
Part 4 of an ongoing series

My Say it Louder Review . . .

It has felt like forever since I read Revenge Bound book 3 in this series, which sadly made me miss a lot of details in this book .  I had to abandon Say it Louder to skim Revenge Bound so I could get up to date on Dave and his whackadoodle girlfriend.

With Dave I've had a love/hate relationship with him throughout the series.  He was one of the pillars that kept the band together during their rough patches, but he was also the slave driver that almost split them up.   Now add his crazy girlfriend into the mix and I developed mix feelings for Dave.  After his girlfriend's latest actions, Dave is now forced to chose between his girlfriend Kristina or the band.

It should be an easy decision but it's not easy when Kristina has been basically blackmailing Dave for months.   Dave finally takes the risk and breaks it off with crazytown but he's stuck spiraling with his own guilt and heavy secret.

We first met Willa in Revenge Bound and since she friends with Stella and Violet, she's the perfect outlet for Dave.  At first Willa thinks the worst of Dave until she starts to realize that she judged him before she got to know him.    Afraid to go back to his apartment in fear of his ex's actions, he hides out with Willa.  At first she was a great distraction but soon she turned into something so much more for Dave.

Willa is a spitfire and full of life but she's had to fight tooth and nail to get there.  With this trait she has a pretty big wall around her and has a hard time taking help from others, since all she's ever been able to rely on is herself.

Dave helps Willa become the artist she deserves to be but Dave's past is kicking him in the ass.  Now both Willa and Dave have to face their demons if they want a future with each other.

I do quite like this series and I did like this book quite a lot but it's definitely not my favorite of the series.  The other good news is that this series isn't done yet.  In this book we get to meet a new character, which means a next book within this series.  Yeah!!!

I liked Dave and Willa and was stoked he finally kicked Kristina to the curb.   I didn't quite feel the deep bond between Willa and Dave instead it came across a bit more like a couple of convenience that turned into more, however I don't think that was the intent of these two.    Once I got over that piece they did start to grow on me.  And for the secrets, it took for friggin' ever for Dave's past to finally come to light.  By the time it did it was a bit predictable, however Willa's role in it helped heat things up with it.   As it was a bit predictable, the climax of suspense was also quickly swept away for such a big lead up.

For me there were ups and downs but more ups for sure.  Especially because we get to see our other faves from this series.  And finally Dave won me over with more love than hate for his character.  In Say it Louder we get to find out why Dave operated the way he did, and we got to see what his passion is, and what was driving him the whole way.

Good Mystery

This also was a very good story which did have a twist I saw coming but enjoyed getting to it! Our street artist lady impacts the life of drummer,Dave, after his vindictive ex tries to take everything from him including his freedom. Willa sees the truth.

Turned out to be a good well written series that I quite enjoyed!

I want more. I started the first book in this series five days ago and just finished the 4th book. Loved them. I think each book was better than the one before. Ms. Tretheway's character development and style allowed you to really feel the emotion that each and every one of the players in the books went through. The guys in the band were a family and as each one found a strong partner, they were welcomed. I can't wait to see how Ryan fits in the mix. Thanks for writing these stories, you have a great talent.

Through three previous installments the band members of Tattoo Thief have seen their share of emotional highs and lows due to their own actions as well as the machinations of Kristina, their fellow bandmate's girlfriend. Everything comes to a head in this book full of twists and turns as it's time to call her bluff. Dave's let her threats and manipulations weigh on him for seven years, but when he must choose between her and his band he's willing to give her almost everything of his to send her on her way. A vengeful ex knows no bounds though as her anger jeopardizes his burgeoning relationship with the exotic and refreshing Willa as well as his entire future in a fast-paced conclusion that will keep readers on the edge of their seats.

Dave's life revolves around Tattoo Thief and from a young age he exerted control over his bandmates to guide them to success. He acted as their manager as well as drummer, though it was clear his talent was in business dealings. Knowing that he was the weak link in their band has led to a lot of hard feelings exacerbated by the manipulative Kristina who's been a cancer to the band leaking secrets through the years. It's made Dave feel even more separated from the band and now leaves their future in doubt. Just as he finds the strength to push Kristina out of his life the past comes back to haunt him in a conclusion full of suspense that will either bring the band together or break them apart forever. Dave's an immensely sympathetic character. For years he's been loyal to Kristina, giving her everything, in the belief that she loved him. As he's always felt alone when it comes to the various bonds of his bandmates he could only count on her but it's clear she's become a dangerous enemy. Finding Willa is an eye-opening experience, a breath of fresh air and goodness after the toxicity of Kristina, and he latches on to her wholeheartedly. Dave's feeling lost when he meets Willa but she doesn't let him wallow in pity, pushing him to be strong when it comes to the vile Kristina and it's strength of spirit that binds these two together. Dave's a kindhearted man who would give Willa everything if she'd let him. He's supportive and pushes her to show her art to the world, keeping her safe from those who would take advantage of her. By spending time in her world he sees his life in a whole new way that changes his own path for the future. Just when he's at his happiest though Kristina hurls one more bomb in his path to HEA and it's a crushing blow that had me aching right alongside him. It's a credit to the author to make Dave worth rooting for after all the years he stood by while Kristina hurt his bandmates. I fell in love with Dave here, hurt when he hurt and cheered as he triumphed, and it's a compelling journey readers get to take with him.

Willa's an intriguing heroine who's been through a lot in her life and instead of caving under the pain she rose high above it. She's a bundle of energy and strength, solid in her build but ethereal in her outlook on life. She lived on the streets as a teen, finding a home and acceptance amongst the homeless, and it's made her a strong-willed young woman full of wisdom. She's a bit leery of getting too close to people or accepting help, but no matter how far she tries to keep Dave at arm's length she finds herself drawn to him. She gives him a place of safety, taking his worries away, and in return he gives her a chance to make a future from her art. Willa tells it like it is, never letting Dave wallow in pity, and it made for a combustible first meeting and a crackling connection that led to steamy encounters and supportive words and deeds. She's an immensely likable character, one you admire, which is why her moments of self-doubt hit you hard. It made her even easier to relate to though and one I'll never forget.

From start to finish this was a story that moved at a fast pace, and due to Kristina, it also leaves a sense of foreboding hanging over readers. You keep expecting something bad to happen and when it does it's one heckuva bomb that's dropped. Though I knew what the outcome would be it was still an exciting and suspenseful denouement to the story. In battle the band finally united as a formidable force which had me cheering. The romance between Willa and Dave crackled and teemed with sexual tension as they both fought their feelings early on. Their unlikely friendship quickly morphed into scorching encounters and unforgettable interludes that give new meaning to creating art. Theirs is an intensely emotional relationship based on painful pasts that binds them together in a journey that puts that bond to the test. Alongside this unforgettable couple are the men and women who keep Tattoo Thief at the top of the charts. They were a bit fractured at the start of the story but when things really get tough they put past pain behind them to support the man who got them where they are today. In the crowded genre of rockstar romances this series stands tall for its heartbreaking moments, delicious heroes, and strong-willed heroines and is one I recommend to those looking for HEAs worth fighting for.

I am a HUGE fan of the Tattoo Thief series. And I have been dying to read Dave's story. You knew it was going to be a crazy ride! Dave has always been a character that you knew had to have a crazy backstory. I mean, his girlfriend Kristina alone has been pure evil and is always caring trouble for the members of Tattoo Thief.

Dave is finally had it with Kristina. He breaks it off with her after discovering her with someone else. But, if only things could be that simple. Kristina is not going to let Dave walk away easily. Dave knows this band is at jeopardy is Kristina's wrath ins unleashed on all of them. She has been around too long and knows too much dirt, especially on Dave.

Wilma seems to be the only one Dave can turn to when he leaves Kristina. She is not a people person. She tends to keep to herself and lives a secret life. At night she is tagging the streets of NYC.

Dave and Wilma are opposites, but there is something that is special that makes them heal and complete the other. Their story is not an easy one. There is a lot of heartbreak and drama to deal with, but it was worth all of it.
I love this series and I am so glad that this book finally came out!!

I liked this, but I can't give it more than three stars because I was just so aggravated with Willa throughout most of the book. She kept going on about how her art is a way to make people see her because she always felt so invisible when she was younger - yet she dismisses some people upon meeting them, basically ignoring their existence (or trying to, anyways). There was some awesome drama in this book - but I just couldn't get past Willa. I've got the first book on my kindle, so I will be reading more of this author, Willa didn't deter me that much.

SO GOOD!!!! Heidi Joy Tretheway has totally done it again.

When last we saw Dave, Tattoo Thief's sexy drummer, he was embroiled in some band drama. Mainly, he was given an ultimatum: Dump his girlfriend or lose his band.

It gets way worse before it gets better for poor Dave. He might end up losing everything before it's over. He's got to negotiate a way to get what he needs without giving up the things that matter most to him.

Kristina is a bitch. And a greedy, vindictive one at that. She and Dave have been together for years, and she's collected up enough dirt on him and his band mates, and their women, to blow them all to kingdom come. She'll use it, too, if she doesn't get everything she wants. Which just happens to include Dave, his band, his home, and his money. Her deal? She'll take everything he's worked for, plus all the secrets she's stored away. If Dave won't go for that, then she'll take even more. Right down to his freedom.

Coming out of a hard-scrabble, on-the-run, poverty-stricken past, Willa has very little and works very hard for it. She doesn't think she has time for anything but her work in a tattoo shop and her other work as a phantom street artist. Inking by day and tagging by night, Willa thinks her life is set, and love isn't a part of it. And then Dave shows up and everything changes. She doesn't want to ask for help, doesn't expect to be rescued, and isn't interested in Dave's money at all. For his part, Dave has no clue what to do if money can't fix it.

Willa has, up to now, been a minor character in the series. Bringing her into this story in a major way was a great decision on the author's part. She's a tough girl on the outside, and she's pretty strong on the inside, too. Still, she knows a good thing when she sees it; she's just not sure she can have it. When Dave's past comes to light, she's sure they'll never work out.

Broken hearts, interpersonal conflict, amends to be made, a man's bare ass, tattoos, cancer survivors, cupcakes, graffiti, finding love and fulfillment, gin and champagne, legal troubles, a magazine layout, a new dress, and a 9 hour bus ride from NYC to Pittsburgh - it's all worth it. Every minute you spend reading this story is a minute of happiness. Because wow.

This book drops soon. You need to get it. I mean, you REEAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLYYYYYYY NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED TO GET IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In the fourth installment of the Tattoo Thief series we get Dave and Willa's story. It has been a long time coming, but worth the wait I must say. Say it Louder is filled with plenty of angst, suspense, and new beginnings. We get a glimpse into the lives of the other members of the band and where they are now. I found it to be well written, a roller coaster ride of emotions and a page turner. I really enjoyed it.

Dave has spent the past seven years as the drummer and "manager" so to speak of the band. He knows more about the business side of music, but plays drums as well. He has done everything he can to guide his band mates to be successful, both on and off the stage. He has had one struggle all these years and that is the cancer that is his girlfriend, Kristina. She has done nothing but take, take, take. Literally, she has gathered whatever bad info she can about the band members and their significant others. The worst information that she has privy to is Dave's deepest secret and she threatens to unleash everything she knows. Dave has had enough and wants her out of his life and the bands, offering her everything he has to keep her mouth shut. The one light that shines in his life is Willa, an up and coming artist, who has been catapulted into the spotlight.

Willa has spent years taking care of herself. From foster home to foster home and then being homeless. She has found a family with those who live on the streets. Now she works in a tattoo shop and creates works of art late at night when she goes out and tags buildings. She has worked hard to get where she is and though she may have very little, it means the world to her. She is a spitfire of a character, strong, worldly and spunky. She struggles to let people in, trusting others rarely happens, she doesn't want to be let down. Until Dave walks into her life. He may be just the one to prove to her that she is worth fighting for.

Willa and Dave's story is so sweet and emotional. They both battle ugly pasts and when those pasts come back to haunt them, it may shatter what they have started to build. Are they both strong enough to weather the storm that is brewing and come out the other side? Or will the one person who holds all the cards shatter them and the band once and for all?

Go grab your copy of this awesome, emotional read. I really enjoyed it!

I have been a huge fan of Heidi Joy Tretheway's ever since I read Tattoo Thief! I quickly devoured everything of hers that I could get my hands on, so it seems like I have been waiting forever for this installment in the Tattoo Thief series. This book was worth the wait though, and it was great to head back to this amazing world that she has created.

When given the ultimatum to dump his toxic girlfriend or lose the band, Dave knows what he needs to do yet finds himself in an impossible situation. Not only does Kristina have dirt on Dave, but on each member of Tattoo Thief as well. Just as Dave's life seems to be up in the air, he finds himself growing closer to emerging star Willa. As Dave and Willa grow closer, both find themselves wondering what their future looks like as their pasts threaten their everything.

I have not been the biggest fan of Dave over the course of this series. He always felt like he was a bit too much of a doormat for his awful girlfriend, and I hate how he treated the guys because of that at times. But there was clearly a lot more going on behind the scenes and we got to see more here that really she a lot of light on why he did certain things. I really liked him with Willa, and it was so nice to see a different side to him than we had seen before. Willa was easy to like and I loved the depth to her character. The chemistry between these two was great and I loved getting to see these two build something together.

Overall, another great book from Heidi! It was great to see some familiar faces and get to know some of these characters better. I have really enjoyed this series from the beginning, just as I have everything that I have read from Heidi. If you are a fan of rockstar romance stories and like something different, I highly recommend this series! These aren't your typical rockstar romance books, and I love that they are sexy, fun, and emotional. Heidi is great at delivering a solid story every time that captivates the reader from the first word to the last. I can't wait to see what she writes next, and I am already anxious for more from her.

Say it Louder by Heidi Joy Tretheway is the fourth and long awaited story in her Tattoo Thief series. This is Dave and Willa's story. Dave is the drummer and driving force behind Tattoo Thief. Willa is the street artist/tattoo artist that has captured our attention in past books through her friendship with Stella and Violet.

Dave may not be the most talented but he is the one band member that has always seen where they wanted to go with their band, careers, and future and he has done everything he could to steer them in that direction, with one exception, his poisonous girlfriend Kristina. She has spent the past six years collecting dirt and secrets on all the band members and their girls and that includes Dave. When the poop hit the fan in the last book with Violet and we learned that Kristina is the one behind her photos being out in the world, well, needless to say, everyone wants her gone, including Dave. But she knows one of Dave's secrets, one so dark he could be put away for a long time and she is threatening to spill.

Willa has struggled her entire life for everything that she has. She doesn't have much, but she has her art. She won't let anyone take that away. When Dave shows up in her life at a time when things are already starting to change faster than she is comfortable with she has to make a choice to either let him in or shut him out. Every instinct she has honed through her years in foster care and on the streets, homeless, and then scraping by with a roof, however shaky, tells her to shut him out. Whenever anyone helps her they always want more than she can give them in return, especially when they don't ask for anything. But with Dave, she can't.

Their story is beautiful and damaged and I loved every angst filled page. It was a long time getting here but I am so glad Dave finally found a happy place and Willa finally stepped out of her self-imposed shell. Enjoy!

Say It Louder by Heidi Joy Tretheway ~  5 Stars

I discovered The Tattoo Thief Series last year. I picked up book 1 and enjoyed it so much that I ended up one-clicking Book 2 (Tyler & Stella) and book 3 (Revenge Bound) and had all of them ready in less than 2 days. I've been patiently waiting for book 4 (Say It Louder) and I am happy to report that I was not disappointed. In fact, I'm even more excited because I now have another book to look forward to.

Leading up to this book, Dave was probably my least favorite character in the series. Dave is the drummer and the driving force behind Tattoo Thief. He's the one that held the band together through previous drama and unfortunately his girlfriend is the reason why they might be falling apart. Kristina is the devil incarnate. She collects information on people to hold it over their heads or release it to damage reputations. She is the ultimate mean girl. When it comes down to an ultimatum Dave does what he needs to do and cuts her loose... But the risk to him is so much greater than anyone else realizes.

Willa is the epitome of what every artist would like to be. Dedicated to their craft, talented, extremely humble and trying to make the difference with their art. Willa has been at rock bottom and is determined to not be there for the rest of her life but she isn't willing to take handouts or a load of BS from somebody that she deems as entitled.

While their first encounter isn't necessarily a good one, a tentative friendship eventually grows into much more. As Willa's life is on the upswing, Dave's life is tanking faster than anyone can imagine.  For any more information you'll just have to read the book yourself.

So far it is my favorite of the series. I'm not sure if it's the fact that I have the background on all of the other characters or if it's just really that's awesome of a story but I couldn't put the book down.

If you aren't familiar with the series I would highly recommend it.  It's definitely worth your time and book 1 Tattoo Thief is free so you can get hooked just like I did!

Dave needs to dump his toxic girlfriend Kristina to keep the band together. But it’s not that simple. She’s been keeping track of everything the band has done and threatens to expose them all. While under the stress of “managing” the situation and protecting his friends, Dave meets Willa, a street-wise girl with artistic talent who has been painting the city with graffiti. Will these two lost souls be able to heal each other?

“I just need her.

This.

I need her to stay with me, as close as she’s willing, for an hour or maybe two while we pretend to be a band that isn’t the biggest f”ck-up on the planet.

A band that’s not going to let our secrets divide and destroy us.”

I read all of the Tattoo Thief books in preparation for this one and I was so happy I did. I think Dave’s story has been my favorite so far. Dave never felt like he fully belonged in the band. Like he was an outsider. What makes Willa such a good match for him is that she has felt that way her entire life. The two just seem to fit together and I loved that even though they might seem like they come from different backgrounds, they really had a lot in common. I also loved the mystery and tension throughout the story as they try to figure out how to deal with the threat of exposure, the tensions in the band and Willa’s new found talent being discovered. Lots of ups and downs while reading this one and I always look forward to twists in my stories.

These books are a pretty fun rock band series and I would definitely recommend them. There is a fifth book planned and I look forward to reading more about this group of friends that have become a family.

I started stalking Heidi Joy Tretheway after meeting her Kate Spade bag in NYC for the Romance Writers of America convention. Anyone that had a bag in the shape of a typewriter and really sexy business cards was pretty memorable. I went home, read everything the woman wrote, and my obsession began... I mean, a friendship was born.

When I ran into her again on my own coast at a book event, it was right before Say It Louder was to be released. Shamelessly, I gushed all over her. She offered me an ARC copy of the book, we took a picture together, AND became Facebook friends. If that doesn't say BFF's, I don't know what does!

Get ready for another installment of Heidi Joy Tretheway’s Tattoo Thief series! Say It Louder is a standalone. You’ll want to read the first in the series as to not reveal any spoilers. An impromptu journey to find himself and figure out where he belongs, Dave leans on Willa; a pink haired tattoo artist that calls him on his shit.

The verbal barbs between the protagonists become foreplay. Author Heidi Joy paints a picture of sexy time, literally. At one point, Willa says that her “toes actually fucking curl!” My girlfriends think this is fallacy but I know better!

My favorite parts about Say It Louder are the savory descriptions that transport me into the world of Dave and Willa. “I inhale his scent, mint and cut pine. It transports me from a sweaty August to the December tree lots where I pretend to escape the city for a walk in the woods.”

Reading Tigress review by Mel

Say it Louder by Heidi Joy Tretheway

***** 5 amazing stars *****

Omg I loved every second of this book! It's one of those page turners you don't want to put down!

Dave is the drummer of Tattoo Thief, an up and coming band starting to hit the charts big time. There's one problem though, Dave's girlfriend Kristina is one huge b*%$h. She is nothing but trouble and is keeping dirty secrets on everyone in the band to control Dave and secure herself the lifestyle she enjoys.

Willa is a friend of Violet and Stella's, Dave's band mates girlfriends, she's a tattoo artist, pink hair, shy but but strong as hell.

Dave and Willa meet one night at a friends place when Dave's feeling pretty low. He's just confronted his now ex-girlfriend and he's got no where to go cause he doesn't want to go home.

Dave finds comfort in Willa, she's an easy distraction and he finds himself feeling relaxed and at ease around her. She helps him see the brighter side of life but she won't be a part of anything until his ex is well and truely and out of the picture.

No matter what's thrown in front of them they find peace with each other. Hope and love.

I really enjoyed this read and can't wait to go back and read the previous books in the series.

Looking forward to more great work from Heidi!

Toxic, sexy, and real.

Dave is the drummer of Tattoo Thief. He is living a life that is not truly his in order to protect himself and his band. He quickly finds out that the choices that he has made for his survival has trapped him in ways that are far worse then he ever expected. He is lost and needs to be found. As he tries to get rid of his evil, conniving ex, Dave could possibly lose everything that he has worked for. As he searches for help he finds Willa and she turns out to be the glue that will hold him together.

Willa is a pink haired spunky artiest. She does not take crap from anyone and she does not trust easily. Dave walks into her life as she is the process of making exciting and scary transitions. As she learns to trust him, he strives to help make her dreams come true.

I loved watching Dave and Willa's relationship grow. The first time that they met was not pretty, but as there paths continued to cross there was no mistaking that these two were made for each other. The chemistry between them sizzles off the pages and the sex is off the charts. Ms, Tretheway did an outstanding job giving these two characters depth. This is the first book that I have had the pleasure of reading by her, but I am positive it wont be the last.

I absolutely love the Tattoo Thief series by Heidi Joy Tretheway and book four does nothing but continue my thoughts about this amazing series. It does tell a complete story, but I would highly recommend the entire series from the start to get the full effect of the characters mentioned in this story.

Dave is the drummer for Tattoo Thief. After the trauma his girlfriend Kristina caused for the members of his band he is left with an ultimatum - to break up with the toxic woman or break up the band. Of course there is only one choice, but there is no way the manipulative woman will go quietly. When his world begins to spiral out of control, the last place Dave expects to find his footing on solid ground is with the up and coming artist known as the "Parking lot Picasso."

Willa has learned from a very young age to never rely on anyone but herself. When her graffiti art is discovered and featured in a magaine, everyone is seeking her out. She also suddenly finds Dave taking interest in her as well as her work and he somehow manages to make her come out of the shadows she has been hiding behind.

From start to finish, I couldn’t put this book down. I could not wait to get my hands on this release after reading the rest of this series. It was well worth the wait and I can't wait to read more from this amazing series!

Dave finally gets his say! With all of the drama and angst that has surrounded Tattoo Thief in the previous three books I had to wonder how Dave’s story would play out. I knew that Kristina was the actual devil, still playing games and not caring who gets hurt, but where did Dave fall in all of this?

The romance between Willa and Dave was beautiful, very honest and powerful. The way they clicked and were able to be their best for each other, ultimately being the best for themselves! The give and take was fun, the running was frustrating, yet together they worked.

The angst of what will Kristina do and what she actually ends up doing fell a bit short of the mark for me. Dave never quite made it away from the “poor, white guy issues” and seemed almost to stereotypical at times. And what was up with the other guys in the band? They were almost completely absent from his life and the story, even when they were around they didn’t seem to still be the family they so often tout. The fact that Kristina was able to so thoroughly mess with their lives was too predictable and that it took Willa to see the real problem made the rest of the band, and relationships, seem moot.

Was nice to have some resolution, and see the happiness that continues with all of them.

Dave's life is riddled with secrets. His toxic girlfriend is hoarding them like someone with a certifiable problem, and if that wasn't enough, he has one too. When the secrets start coming out, Tattoo Thief, the only thing Dave cares about, tells him to ditch his woman or he's gone. Shocked that they're willing to stand by him, he finally works up the courage to send her to the curb. If you thought that was the end, that's just the beginning.

Say it Louder is a story about how people who seem so different can come together and become a team. It's about how you can come from nothing, have nothing, and still have everything. I love how Heidi weaves together Dave and Willa's story and takes us on the unlikely journey of the pair.

If you're a fan of this series, pick this book up! You're going to love how the story continues. If you're new to Heidi, take a chance on her. You won't be sorry.
