You take the pain and bury it. You take the hate and use it to fuel you. These are the rules that Cam Prescott lives by. It’s worked for her well enough in the past, there’s no reason it shouldn't work now.
You take the truth and bury it. You take your desires and hide it. These are the rules Luke Russo lives by. Secrets are his specialty and no one has broken his barriers yet, why should that change now?
Cam and Luke have spent years hiding secrets and burying pain. The past is exactly that - the past. And there is no reason it shouldn't stay there.
But when their pasts start consuming their future, can they make it through the explosion?
We started out as strangers. Two people in two different states, who shared a love of books.
Through group interactions and various messages, we talked for months. Eventually, talks of our favorite fictional characters turned into talks of real life events.
As wives and mothers, we shared stories about our husbands and children. We’ve shared laughter, tears, and the deep frustration of fictional characters talking to us at the most inopportune times.
Over the years, our relationship has changed from strangers to best friends, and our love of reading has turned into a love of writing.
Reading is what brought us together. The written word will always hold a special place in our hearts, and we’re ecstatic to be able to share our words with you.
The second installment of the Engine 24 series. Luke and Cam, loved this fast pace, no bullsh!t, cleverly written story leaves you jonesing for book three! C'mon Morgan Nicole I am not so patiently waiting lol
I LOVED this book. This is second in the series, and I loved seeing the characters again. I enjoyed this book more than the first because I think it was more raw. The emotions, the pasts that the characters have to deal with is so raw and that was felt with every word. This book brought me deeper into the world of the engine 24 gang and makes me want so much more. I found myself crying a few times with the pure raw feelings that were being exchanged between Cam and Luke. I loved seeing Em and Rhett as the support characters. Even saying that, the friendships never changed. I loved watching Luke transform into super Alpha mode. I loved watching Cam test that. I loved watching them both give each other exactly what the other needed and slightly more. Their road to happiness is far from easy. They both have to overcome demons, but discover that with each other, it's a bit easier. Seriously loved this book! Well done Morgan Nicole!
