For Shana Green it’s true that everything really is bigger in Texas, including her erotic fantasies. Shana has always fantasized about being taken by a wealthy sheikh as his harem love slave, something she never imagined could come true. Then she meets Dahoud “Bear” el Rashid. Instantly, she knows the ruggedly handsome Arab is a dream come true—until she realizes that following her dream may mean giving up the Texas home she loves so much.
Bear is entranced by the strikingly beautiful Shana, and when she reveals the fun private yearning that only he can satisfy, he’s thrilled to indulge in one hot final fling before he settles in Kuwait permanently to run his family’s oil business. But when desire turns to devotion, Bear has to choose between the woman he loves and a family that is sure to disown him.
As their passion burns and parting becomes impossible, Shana and Bear must struggle to bridge the gap between their two cultures and build a love that truly knows no borders.
This is a fully revised edition of a book originally published as Love Slave .

She loves hearing from readers and tries to meet as many fans as possible at one or more conferences each year. You can read more about Ann at annjacobs.net.
First published in 1996, Jacobs has sold close to fifty books and novellas. SANDSTORMS was a 2007 nominee for the prestigious ROMANTIC TIMES Reviewers' Choice award for best erotic romance. Her books have earned awards including the Passionate Plume (best novella, 2006, second place contemporary, 2008), the Desert Rose (best hot and spicy romance, 2004) and More Than Magic (best erotic romance, 2004). She has been a double finalist in separate categories of the EPPIES and From the Heart RWA Chapter’s contest. Three of her books have been translated and sold in several European countries.
A CPA and former hospital financial manager, Jacobs now writes full-time, with the help of Mr. Blue, the family cat who sometimes likes to perch on the back of her desk chair and lend his sage advice. He sometimes even contributes a few random letters when he decides he wants to try out the keyboard. (Most of the time Blue just curls up, hides his eyes with his paws...and sleeps!)
I gave this author another try but ended up banging the wall (virtually speaking since this is an ebook and I wasn't about to toss my whole computer at the wall). The heroine is an American college student who wants to experience life as a houri in a sheik's harem. Her fevered Arabian Nights fantasy includes having the hero lick her while other bimbos, er houris, lick him. Sexy it ain't. She's spoiled, immature and simply TSTL. The hero is no Einstein either, demanding that his servants find him a genuine eunuch in the 21st century and then surprised to realize they don't exist anymore. I tried to give the story a chance but it was a bizarre mix of fantasy and reality. The sheik thing is ALL about fantasy, you have to forget today's political realities and just go with it. I tried to, really I did, but dragging in references to Zionism, Saddam, and war crimes just harshed my mellow bigtime.
I’ve had this book and a few others in the erotic Black Gold series for several years and, after trying to find it on Amazon, I’ve realized the series is no longer available to be sold. Instead, it's been revised and edited and is now called the Oil Baron series. Anyway, my reviews will be for the Black Gold series. Love Slave is book one. Shana is a senior in college from Houston, Texas and comes from an oil tycoon family. Her little brother, Jake, is a freshman at the same college and ends up hurt during a football game. Shana meets Bear—his real name is Dahoud—the star line quarterback, when he comes to the hospital to check on Jake whom he hit too hard during the game. Like Shana, Bear comes from an oil tycoon family in Kuwait but was raised with both Western and Eastern values. Shana has this extreme sexual fantasy about being kidnapped by a sheik and used as a love slave in his harem. Shana and Bear develop a friendship over the next few months and they plan to enact her fantasy together, though neither of them expected love to blossom. After all, she’s Jewish, he’s Muslim, and they come from completely different societies and customs. They don’t think a real relationship would ever work out. This story takes place in 1990, predominately in Kuwait, right before the beginning of the Gulf War. Shana and Bear fall in love, they have a dom/sub relationship in the bedroom, but they’re equals in everyday life. The reader can feel the love and desire they have for one another. The sex between them is amazing! It’s very graphic and detailed, but full of emotion and tenderness. There are a few grammar issues, like missing commas to offset important words, but nothing too major to confuse the reader. There are POV shifts without proper scene or chapter breaks but the author does them in a way that the reader knows who’s talking and when. I didn’t have to re-read to find out who said what. This isn’t just an erotic love story, however. The author added details about Kuwait’s ongoing conflict with Iraq, Saddam Hussein’s cruelty, and Muslim culture and attitude toward women and outsiders. I absolutely love this book and, if you can find it, I definitely recommend it to anyone who wants something a little different. 5 Stars
Disclaimer – I bought this book for my own enjoyment. I am a reader. I am not paid or compensated in any way, shape or form for this honest review. I will not change or alter this review for any reason unless at my discretion.
This book was very different to what I am used to, the culture change between the two main characters I thought made it very different to other books I’ve read. I thought it was a very easy and quick read that solely revolves around two characters.
The main characters are Shana and Bear, Shana wanting to become part of his life and culture and Bear looking for someone that will welcome both him and his family’s customs. I was fairly surprised to be reading about a woman who did not mind being in a relationship with someone who honestly and openly has other lovers and it was very refreshing.
The storyline and pacing were superb for such a short book giving us a real insight into the characters and a new twist on an overused concept.
I had never read anything like this when it first came out. I thought it was super hot. But after re-reading it a couple times more recently, it just doesn’t hold up.
Reviewed for THC Reviews "4.5 stars" Love Slave was a sweetly sensual erotic romance of forbidden love between a Jewish American young woman and an Arabic young man who was a Kuwaiti sheik. This theme, along with the love-overcomes-all theme, both of which are a prominent part of the story, are among my favorites. Shana and Bear were both very likable characters. Although I can't say I've ever fantasized about being part of a sheik's harem like Shana did, I certainly wouldn't mind if that sheik were Bear (and it was only a harem of one;-)). Making love in his private jet, his limo and his isolated ancient family fortress would be a scrumptious dream. I liked that Bear was completely into fulfilling Shana's fantasy and how the couple were so open and giving toward one another. It made the idea of them falling in love so quickly more believable. I wasn't a bit surprised when Shana got jealous of the other women in the “harem,” even though she said that's what she wanted. In fact, the short menage scene between Bear, Shana and the other two women was the only thing about this novella that wasn't really my cup of tea. I happen to be a jealous reader who wants the hero to belong completely to the heroine. I was quite happy when Bear wasn't responsive to the other women and kicked them out pretty quickly, so he could have his favorite houri all to himself.;-)
Even though the characterizations aren't particularly deep because of the short length, I really came to like Bear and Shana a lot, and would have loved to read a longer story about them. I'm really happy that Forever Enslaved, the second novella in the series, is a continuation of their lives together. Love Slave may require a little suspension of disbelief to accept Bear and Shana falling in love and overcoming their cultural differences so quickly, but there was enough tender emotion between the pair to make me buy it. This story also introduces Shana's brother, Jake, who becomes the hero of book #3, Firestorm. This was my first read by Ann Jacobs and the first in her Black Gold series. I really enjoyed it and look forward to continuing the series. Love Slave can be purchased as a separate e-book, and can also be found in the Sandstorms anthology.
Note: This novella contains explicit language and sexual situations which some readers may find offensive including a f/f/m/f menage with brief mention of f/f action and anal play with fingers.
"I've decided your fantasy must become our reality."
Clearly I didn't read the blurb very well, so I only have myself to blame. I saw the cover and immediately thought, it's been a while since I've had read a Cowboy. With that said, I am a bit bummed because Bear isn't a Cowboy but a Sheikh. Bear is Shana's fantasy come to life, he is everything she's wanted and needed, even if it's only for the short time they have. Coming from two different worlds and customs, their reality is far from the fantasy they'd rather live in ... or is it???
Capture Me is a fast paced novella, I was a little thrown off so it didn't leave me enough time to really gauge what was happening. This was just an ok read for me, easy and short enough to read through, but nothing memorable enough for me to note. I will check out the rest of the author's work, hopefully I will have better luck.

The little expert about what this was about is what got me to open the pages. It is not very long and gives you a bit about Sana and her fantasy that has her going. Dahoud "Bear"is the college star linebacker with her brother and others. this is them embarking on making the fantasy a reality but each of them will be caught up in it. What he per-sees as what she thinks to expect he must hire to fill in. They both come from powerful families but different backgrounds. There is alot of heat which is fine but she also weaves it into what is built up and played out. Also what was turn out to be one weekend will last for much longer thanks to stronger than fantasy being at play. They have a nice story and this family of hers does sound intriguing. Surprised reception also will be given to them both on how the truth will be handled by the families. It does show though that love does overcome barriers that alot of times couples put on themselves only to find out something different.
Despite what the cover might lead you to believe, this novella is not about a cowboy. It is an oil baron, but he is actually a sheikh from Kuwait. The heroine, Shana, has always had the fantasy to be part of a Sheikh's harem. So when she sets her eyes on Bear, she knows she has an opportunity to live out her fantasy. Bear goes to great lengths to fulfill her fantasy, even hiring out actors to play the roles of harem girls and a eunuch. Shana lives out her fantasy knowing that there can never be anything more than just this fantasy or can there be? This novella was very fast paced but honestly I just could get into the story line at all. The whole thing seemed to rushed in my opinion. Perhaps as a full length novel the story would have worked better.

this is the first book by this author that I've read and also the first book in this series. this is a short read book, only about 48 pages but well worth a read. this book is about living out the fantasies you have. the main male character certainly puts a lot of effort into making the female characters fantasy come true. the story felt a little rushed and you didn’t really get to know the characters or about their relationship properly. if your looking for a quick read then this will do. this is a fab, romantic, sexy, hot read that you can read in one sitting. I cant wait to read more from this author.
Shana Green has always had a fantasy of being in a harem of a sheik. Now she can actually act out her fantasy. Once she starts acting out the fantasy with her sheik, Bear. But the pretend started to turn real for both of them and this was unexpected for the both of them. Now they both want to make the fantasy a reality but will their parents approve or will they be on their own?
I loved reading this book by Ann. Ann has become one of my favorite authors. I honestly find myself re-reading a lot of her books. I highly recommend this book and author to others.
Capture me is a tale about Shana who has a hankering for a sheikh, to be in his harem, then she meets Bear or Dahoud el rashid to give him his full name a real life sheikh , he whisks her away to his home in Kuwait and this is their story. The chemistry between them is sizzling and you can see how the attraction grows into something more. Well written and tantalising I really enjoyed this story and look forward to reading more in this series while this is a short book the relationship felt real and I loved the epilogue .
Didn't like it bought my copy on Ellora's cave. It's a quick read with nothing in it. I have read short stories with better substance I don't think have ever read anything by this author before so don't know what to think and don't know if I will try another book by her that's still up in the air. Reading the preview and the title the book seems enticing but you know what they say never judge a book by it's cover.
Shana has a fantasy to be in a harem and Dahoud “Bear” el Rashid her sheik is just the man to fill that wish. Along the way of filling her fantasy they fall in love and not sure how their parents will react or if their love will be enough since they are both from two different worlds.
This is a fast paced story. It was over before I wanted it to end.
Arc copy received through NetGalley for an honest review.
Short, fast and hot. Maybe too short to get into the characters and their background. The cover threw me, he was a sheikh from Kuwait not a cowboy. It was a fun fantasy for the female character and her dreams of a sheikh and his harem. It did feel a little rushed, I'd prefer more story than a giant sex scene. I like this author so I look forward to more of the series to see where it's going.
I got this in exchange for an honest review, I am a fan of Ann work which is great and I was happy that I got this one the book was great very hot sexy full of sexual sparks that really captivate everyone the characters were charming amazing but the thing is the story is short I felt like there were so many things that should have been said or detailed or explained and were not its like a fog hope to know in the next one enjoy
45pgs, Shana Green's been fantasizing about being a houri, a love slave to a wealthy sheikh, for years. When fate drops Dahoud el Rashid, or "Bear", practically into her lap, she's not about to let him get away... Bear wants one last ultra-hot fling before he settles down to take over his father's oil business. He'll fulfill every last one of Shana's fantasies if it means he can have his fill. Of her.
Capture me is the story of Shana Green getting her fantasies fullfilled. For Bear, Shana isn't someone who he has noticed before but now that she is on his radar, he will do anything to keep her.
By arranging a week she will never forget.. will he be able to let her go? I enjoyed this quick read and it was nice to be able to read a book while at work ;)
not my favorite. Didnt really have much of a story line. And what story it did have went from having sex to wanting to get married in like a couple of chapters. I did appreciate the fact that they got together by having him help her fulfill her fantasy was a good start but everything else just went to quicky without there being any emotional connection. it just happened out of no where.
Capture Me By Ann Jacobs was certainly hot and steamy. For that It received an A+, but where was the rest of the story? I think it needed more than just sex. This book needed an engrossing story as well. Capture Me was a good story that could have been better. Received a copy of this book for an honest review.
Obviously this was written as an erotic novella, most of the chapters were about sexual scenes. I would have enjoyed more of their personal story, more communication. All of the parts that make you fall for characters was missing. Was looking forward to a spicy romance but this is lacking the romance. My copy was given through Netgalley.
I was given a copy of this book from NetGallery for an honest review. Well, what to say? The novella really did not have a lot of content for a plot but it was definitely filled was some hot sex. I really did not know what I was getting into when I started reading this story but overall it wasn't that bad. I will give Capture Me three out of five stars.
Shana has a fantasy of being in a harem of a sheik and being his love slave and it looks like Bear is the one to make that fantasy come true. Short read, I don’t want to give too much away. If you are looking for a sexy fantasy read this may be for you. Not much story but packed with plenty of steam. Enjoy!
Copy provided by Netgalley Very short intro to the Oil Baron series. I would have liked to have seen more of the chase between Shana and Bear. Due to the shortness everything happened at warp speed. But on the romantic side, Bear went to a lot of trouble to make Shana fantasy happen.
Sorry this was cheesy porn Crap. Not worth the time to read past the cover, which by the way is the only good thing the book has going for it, which unfortunately has no relation to the actually story.
I tried reading this book after the other - the closer we get. But I just couldn't get into this one. I think it was mainly because I was worried that this book was about the bratty teenager mentioned in the closer we get. She was a witch I am not ready for her to have a happy ending.
There was no romance. One minute Shana wanted a fantasy come true and the next she was wearing a ring on her finger, just like that. Did I miss the romance?
Annoying. Premise was interesting w modern-day hero and heroine. She has a harem fantasy. But consisted of stereotypes, annoying brand name dropping, blech.
I enjoyed this short story. It's mostly about erotic dreams of a young women who meets her dream lover in real life and goes out his way to make them come true. Very sweet and great HEA.
