4.5 stars. Excellent “manual” for Christian growth and maturity. Many Scripture references support the sound and Godly advice throughout. The only thing I would have liked to have seen is more depth on evangelism.

A good book, though not spectacular. I think it serves its purpose well, though without some much need "meat."

The book is good and I enjoyed parts of it. It is a good introduction to the idea of walking with God, or Abiding in Christ. If an introduction to the topic is what Dr Chappell was going for, he nailed it. If an in depth study, not so much. The book does make good devotional reading.

The book suffers from brevity. It only just touches upon the Scriptures and does not develop (with any kind of completeness) it's subject material. A good survey, but generally too shallow for my liking.

I do think the book could make a good base to build a Sunday school series on, and to teachers I might recommend it. If you are not a reader and would prefer a more basic discussion of the topic, this book is for you. If you are a reader, you might find more of what you like elsewhere.

I appreciate all the Scripture included and how there’s a continual that we first must have a relationship with Christ.

Sermons typed up without the aid of much editing. Good thoughts on John 14. The second half of the book wonders from topic and covers devotional thoughts from Romans on the Christian life. Read Secrets of the Vine by Bruce Wilkinson.
