Moving from a fear-based life to faith-based freedom is a journey that takes time and courage. While remaining scared and small can feel comfortable, taking hold of strength and determination opens our eyes to a measure of the Lord’s goodness that we’ve never seen.
In You Are More Than You Know , Patsy’s trademark humor spills out as she answers the question she is most often How did you overcome your own debilitating fears? Along the way, she helps listeners face their own anxieties, dismay, worries, and despair. Through honest and intimate glimpses into a heart changed by the power of hope, this audio book is a guide for the journey to find more of you . . . and much more of what God has for you.
Patsy is a bookish woman who loves words and has a penchant for dark chocolate sorbet. Since spelling bees in grade school, childhood Scrabble games, right up to her current addiction with Words with Friends she has been known to spell it out, to say it like it is.
Much to her surprise Patsy has written a stack of books that continues to light her passion for the printed page. And nothing pleases her more than to share her faith through laughter and tears and to encourage others to flourish.
A former agoraphobic Patsy never imagined the expansive plans God had in mind for her. She just wanted to make it to her neighborhood grocery store and safely home again. Instead, for the past 35 years she has been traipsing throughout the U.S. and Canada, interspersed with trips to Israel and Africa and she has even spoken at the Pentagon for the Flag Officers Bible Study. Patsy has spoken to millions of women (and men) offering spiritual and emotional hope.
Patsy has written books in several genres including devotional, fiction, children’s, and gift offerings. She is one of the founding speakers at Women of Faith and trains people for the platform.
Patsy is the author of over 35 books best-selling books and currently lives in Franklin TN.
I expected this book to be a pray-the-crazy-away sort of book, but I was pleasantly surprised. It's not the type of book that says that mental illness can be fixed by prayer alone, it acknowledges the importance and necessity of mental health tools like medication and therapy. `The author understands that mental illness is just that, an illness, not being lazy or overemotional. She acknowledges the work that has to go into improving mental health, and ties in faith as well.
You Are More Than You Know – A book where the author shares her life’s journey on struggle, life in general with its ups and downs with a good sense of humor. The book is encouraging to those who are having difficulties, insecurities, anxiety in life.
I thought You Are More Than You Know: Face Your Fears, Grow Stronger was great! It was full of humor with excellent advice. I really needed to read this book. I will be looking for more books by Patsy Clairmont. I highly recommend this book as it is true inspiration. 5+ stars
Even though this was a very quick read it was still very insightful. I brought away several practical gems that I will call on in future times of anxiety or depression.
Fun, Faith and Fears are a good way to describe this book. Patsy is such a string woman of faith and I was interested to understand more about how she transformed her life when she found her faith. Having personally suffered from depression and anxiety for a number of years, and having given my life to Christ during this time I was able to relate to much of this book. Many of the scripture quotes are ones that I used, and still do, to reinforce my faith in my everyday struggles. I’d recommend this book to anyone – regardless of whether they have a faith or not as it gives a very true insight into a life lived in fear and how to overcome. Encouraging and inspirational.
This book was not something that I normally read but I'm glad I did because it helped me grow as a person. This book is a great easy read for someone who struggles with self-image. This book is also a good book for someone who just needs a little pick-me-up book. It was a great comfort book.
Good book on how she overcame agoraphobia. takeaway message-you are more than you know because God is greater than you imagine. She shared how turning to God helped her overcome her fears.
Patsy Clairmont has a marvelous gift of making challenges into molehills instead of mountains... she helps you see that God is mightier than any problem or trouble. This is a great book of inspiration. I highly recommend it to anyone who realizes her own strength is not enough to overcome life's challenges.
From the first page to the last, Patsy makes you laugh and cry and realize that life is always full of bumps and pitfalls, but God overcomes them all. This is a book worth every penny. It will make a super book for your library and your church library.
I don't think this book was for me. I thought it would encourage me toward greater awareness and confidence of who I am in Christ. Instead, it discussed how to overcome paralyzing fears or anxiety based on the author's personal experience with good quotes and occasional Scripture references in the chapters. I enjoy Patsy Clairmont's personality, transparency, and wit while speaking. Somehow, the sharing she does at conferences (Women of Faith) seems to reach a larger audience than this book which seems written to reach those with inclinations toward more clinical depression or anxiety.
I absolutely loved this book! This is my first book by this author but it will not be my last. She is quite humorous and full of wisdom and practical advice. The perfect combination! highly recommend!
An insite as to how a person transfers their problems onto someone else. Really thought the novel was going to give insite on how to feel better about myself, but that is not the case. We are who we make ourselves to be.
FTC stuff; I received this book through a Goodreads, Firstreads contest.
this is a great, thought-provoking book that helps to you go through your life with a fine-toothed comb to get the yuckies out and make it smooth and shiny
I have never read a book that I could relate to like this one. Difficult but well worth it. Patsy Clairmont may be small but with her faith she is a powerhouse.
I saw Patsy speak at a conference a few months back, and her manner was contagious. I enjoyed reading more about her perspective on faith, restoration, and healing...
